You're more amazing than dating sims
Went to a Bloomburrow prerelease today and I won all 4 matches and got 4 free booster packs and traded with a bunch of people to get a big pile of mouse cards!!!
I played an esper deck focused on birds and bats because i opened two Starseer Mentor, a Plumecreed Mentor, a Kastral, the Windcrested, and a Zoraline, Cosmos Caller!
I also pulled off this really silly interaction with Kastral where I attacked with Kastral and another bird and my opponent blocked and traded with Kastral, but the other bird hit directly, which triggered Kastral right as Kastral died, which meant I got to use Kastral's trigger to revive itself! I had to call a judge and then correct the judge about how creatures dying to damage is a state based action, but I pulled it off!
#asks#to be more accurate about the judge thing i called the judge and explained the situation#and then the judge was like “i need to check with my coworker”#and then he came back and said “kastral dies in combat so the ability doesn't trigger”#“and i was just like ”but kastral doesn't die until state based actions happen?“#and the judge went to check with his coworker because apparently he doesn't know what state based actions are?#and he came back and said “we looked up a similar card on Gatherer and the ruling there said that this kind of thing works”#so i got the trigger!#i'm pretty sure that was just some store employee and not a licensed judge but god damn you don't know what state based actions are?#i also got a judge called on me when i fizzled someone's ability by removing the target and told them they don't get the life gain#i absolutely understand their reaction because that rule is unintuitive and total bullshit#but i WILL exploit it to get a minuscule advantage!
