look i KNOW the submarine-friendly entrance to the Lost River is at the Blood Kelps by the northmost point of the map but i set my base 300m down on the edge of the south blood kelp ravine intersecting the sparse reef and the LR entrance there is near-impossible to traverse with a submarine AND has a Ghost Leviathan waiting for me but i am NOT travelling to the other end of the map god bless

#subnautica #viktor.txt #if you don't know #the southmost LR entrance is so fucking narrow that it takes like a feat of patience and use of cameras to figure out how to free the ship #because you will get the submarine stuck on the descent several times to the point where you get scared it's lodged in the cave for good #it's like the Nutty Putty cave incident but for seafaring vessels #with regards to the Ghost Leviathan i once got in my PRAWN and spent 40 minutes beating it to death in the Lost River #it's incredibly unrewarding so do not bother but it was satisfying and i think i still have screenshots #all i did was incessantly tap it with the drill arm #god i love subnautica i want to play it again #i only ever had one base in the entire game and it was what i mentioned above #if you're not sure where the south blood kelp ravine is it's like a little north of the south island #my base was a little too far down for me to know the time of day #but i really liked it there #i've always been a Blood Kelp enjoyer and the base was intersecting all the best material zones #plus i made big aquariums and put flora relative to the creature's environment in there #my favourite creature were the Crabsquids #i LOVE the noises they make.... clunk clunk clunk..... krrkkrkrkrkrkrk....#i also kept... Ampeels(?) too.#when i decided to go off-world i freed all of the fuckers into the surrounding area #I Have Successfully De-Sparsed The Sparse Reef #i don't actually remember how i GOT the creature eggs to begin with #especially the Crabsquid eggs...#they're awful little monstrosities that specifically go out of their way to chase you...#the ones i released weren't hostile to me #mm! you know what area i never really checked out?#that mushroom biome up north with literal gaps in the floor #i learned the hard way that there wasn't an ocean floor around the floating rocks #i was in my prawn suit i had to do some severe big brain manoeuvres in order to not be fucking vaporised #i have NO idea if there is actually an end to the floor there i will never make a base there
