Hypercube for Sale Ch. 1
Luxan leaned his back against a soft cushion, his arms resting behind his head. The moth had just enjoyed a tasty sandwich. The warmth on his face felt nice as he started to doze off. The only gripe he had at this point was that the cushion he sat on was a bit sticky. Make that two gripes: there was also an unpleasant smell. Something tapped him hard in the chest, grabbing his attention. He peered into the darkness. There was a torch lit nearby, revealing an angry bear face inches away from his. The large man was breathing heavily, clearly upset.

Lux’s attention suddenly turned to thousands upon thousands of tiny spiders crawling on the walls of the cave, just under the blanket of webbing that coated every square inch. Larger spiders crawled menacingly on the ceiling. Some of the more adventurous arachnids were descending on single webs to check out the new visitors, who promptly swatted them away. “Oh we are, aren’t we? Oh I remember now! Riiight. So we going or what?” Lux struggled some more, but his wings were firmly stuck to the web on the walls.
“Going?” The bear scoffed. “You’re stuck! Now stop fighting, or you’ll draw unwanted attention.” But it was too late...
