“Mononogatari” The Receives Second Season in Summer 2023

The television anime adaptation of Onigunsou's Mononogatari (Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari) manga's 12th and final episode revealed a teaser advertisement for a second season. The anime's debut is scheduled for July 2023.

Hey so, Feen here. We were hoping to get you a little slushie previewing the new season before we did the actual Season Taster, but uh... I messed up somewhere and my half of the recording is nowhere to be found. Sorry :(

Tsukumogami—spirits or "marebito" can possess objects of considerable age and gain a physical form. Although he is part of the Saenome clan that is in charge of peacefully sending them back to their own world, Hyouma Kunato despises them because one took away what was very precious to him. In order to cure him of this loathing, Hyouma's grandfather sends him to live with Botan Nagatsuki, a girl who is the master of six "friendly" tsukumogami and lives with them as a family.

After discovering that his orphanage was on the brink of closing due to financial stress, Finn, who was living freely on the streets, set out for a casino with the aim of making a fortune. Finn will eventually learn what the shootout was about. The world order can be controlled by a set of 52 X-Playing cards with the power to bestow different superhuman powers and abilities to the ones that possess them. With these cards, people can access the hidden power of the "buddy" that can be found within themselves.

There is a secret group of players called High Card, who have been directly ordered by the king of Fourland to collect the cards that have been scattered throughout the kingdom while moonlighting as employees of the luxury carmaker Pinochle. Scouted to become the group's fifth member, Finn soon joins the players on a dangerous mission to find these cards.

"All you need in life are manners, dignity, and the will to bet on your own life."

However, Who's Who, the rival car maker obsessed with defeating Pinochle, and the Klondikes, the infamous Mafia family, stand in the way of the gang. A frenzied battle amongst these card-obsessed players, fueled by justice, desire, and revenge, is about to begin!

Assassins Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa meet Miri, a girl looking for her father on Christmas Day. Kazuki, Rei, and Miri unexpectedly end up living together.

Follows Kazuki Kurusu, a criminal contractor/coordinator who lives with his best friend, Rei Suwa, a professional assassin who has been raised from childhood to be a contract killer. Kazuki is outgoing and loves gambling and women, while Rei is a man of few words who spends his off time playing video games. One day, the two buddies end up caring for Miri Unasaka, a four year old girl whose father is a mafia boss, after Miri accidentally wanders into a firefight in a hotel while looking for her father.

Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte

On the outside, otome villainess Liselotte seems foul in every way, a purely evil character. However, as revealed in her diary, she was always hiding both her pain and her true feelings for Prince Siegward. While she keeps this locked away, an evil witch ultimately possesses her, leading to her demise—a tragic end for the tsundere villainess. This is how the story always goes, an end coded into the game MagiKoi.

Broadcasting club members Aoto Endou and Shihono Kobayashi decide to play this game. In another universe, Prince Siegward hears their voices, believing it to be a divine revelation from a god and goddess. These voices clue him into something he never noticed before: Liselotte is actually overwhelmingly adorable!

There are no resets in this game, and just one chance to change the future for the ill-fated villainess. In years to come, these two entities, who would guide the country to prosperity and greatness, would be known as play-by-play Endou and color commentator Kobayashi!

Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari unveiled trailer and release date

Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari is one of the highly anticipated anime releases this year. And we are here to give you its release date and its summary. But before that, don't you want to know about Monogatari?  I am sure this is not the first time you've heard about this anime series — although I never watched it because it's so confusing, and at the same time, the art style is something that a lot of beginner anime fans are unfamiliar with. But other than in Japan, you can stream the series in English subtitles on the popular streaming platform name Crunchyroll. And recently, a new trailer for anime is also unveiled with lots of action and dark spirit revolving around the plot.

Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari plot

The series revolves around the spirits crossing over and entering the human world. They possess old objects and can gain a physical form called tsukumogami.  Tsukumogami are gentle, violent, or assumed to be both. But the clan of Saenome helps spirits return to their world without any conflicts. Kunato Hyouma is also a clan member but needs to work peacefully.  Because he hates them, in the past, one of the tsukumogami had robbed him, which was very precious to him. Because Hyouma has a hatred for the spirit and handles them harshly, his grandfather sends him to Kyoto to avoid any catastrophes in dealing with these spirits that will lead to supernatural disasters.  But he was not alone as Nagatsuki Botan was also sent to live with him as she treated Tsukumogami as its own family.

Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari

Saenome is tasked with containing tsukumogami - spirits that inhabit objects and have the potential to pose a danger to society. Although these spirits are usually mild-mannered and can be pacified through communication, Hyouma Kunato's encounter with a malevolent tsukumogami has led him to rely on physical force to subdue any he comes across. This approach is not deemed acceptable by Zouhei, Hyouma's grandfather and the head of their clan, who believes that a future leader should have a broader perspective. Zouhei proposes to Hyouma that he should temporarily reside with Botan Nagatsuki, a member of a family of six tsukumogami. Although Hyouma is initially hesitant, he ultimately agrees to the plan with the aim of finding the spirit that took everything from him. As he strives to gain Botan's trust and overcome his aversion to her family, Hyouma is also confronted with evil spirits that pose a threat to the delicate balance of the world.

Supernatural TV Anime 'Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari' Releases 1st Teaser Trailer, Visual

  After being announced back in November, the TV anime adaptation of Onigunsou's supernatural action manga Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari got its first trailer and visual tonight, revealing the lead staff and cast members for the series centered around Hyoma Kunato as he is forced to go to Kyoto by his clan to learn from Botan Nagatsuki how to live with tsukumogami, a type of spirit.

      Voicing the lead character Hyoma Kunato will be Takeo Otsuka (Takeo in Noblesse), with Botan Nagatsuki being voiced by Yuki Takada (Aoba Suzukaze in NEW GAME!). The staff of Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari includes:

  Onigunsou's supernatural action manga Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari runs in Ultra Jump, with 13 volumes currently released in Japan. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series, with the first English volume set to be released in January 2023. Seven Seas describes the series as such: 

  When spirits cross over into the human world, they can possess old objects and gain a physical form: a tsukumogami. Tsukumogami can be gentle, violent, or somewhere in-between, so the Saenome clan peacefully helps send them back to the spirit world to avoid destruction.

  Kunato Hyouma is a member of the clan, but is…less than peaceful, since he holds a grudge from when a tsukumogami robbed him of something important. Afraid that Hyouma’s brash anger in dealing with these spirits will lead to supernatural catastrophes, Hyouma’s grandfather sends him to live in Kyoto with Nagatsuki Botan, an unusual young woman who actually lives with tsukumogami like family! Can Hyouma learn to control his emotions when dealing with tsukumogami, or is his own spirit doomed to be possessed with rage forever?

  No date has been confirmed for the Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari TV anime as of yet.
