when koa gets in, is grayson rude to her ?? what’s his reaction upon seeing her ?
since this do be a concept train, I want to know what exactly Koa feels towards the twins. Does she know them? Des she know about them? I just know that initial meeting is going to be TENSE
(also angry Grayson is hot)
two: character profile
masterlist | request the next concept!
It only took Koa two days to unpack. She had 2 suitcases of clothes and personal belongings, and $300 worth of a haul from target down the street, which included only a few essentials.
She was lucky enough to have found a three person apartment with one vacancy, which came with the advantage of it already being mostly furnished. The air mattress she bought would have to do in her room for now - she’d spent most her money on a desk.
Writers write, they don’t sleep anyways.
She met her roommates, Harlow and Gabby. Harlow was from Kentucky, which Koa only knew from the KFC on the island back home. But she was sweet and friendly, and willing to help out wherever she could. She even gave Koa a ride to target, let her fill up the back of her honda with all of her purchases.
Gabby was born and raised in LA. And it was obvious. Her attitude, her superiority and her general lack of regard for anyone other than herself had Koa ready to call her out in the first day, but she held back, knowing she was in for the long haul.
But that attitude made her even more nervous for her meeting at 11am the third day, in Encino California. Just the fact that she’d been given a gate code was enough to put a pit in her stomach. She wondered how stupid she would look, walking up to it instead of driving.
Harlow helped her find the right bus route, and it took a minute. And by a minute, she meant a fucking hour to plan it out, and a 30 minute bus ride to get close enough to the Dolan’s house to make the 20 minute walk the rest of the way. She missed the Hawaiian breeze, the trade winds coming in off the ocean to stave off the beating sun as she made the journey with her backpack hanging off one of her shoulders up all of the hills of the neighborhood.
By the time she made it to the house, there was sweat rolling down her back, soaking her shirt and making her question every life decision she’d made to get herself there.
She typed in the code, and as soon as she walked through the gate her blood was boiling.
Five cars. There were five cars in the driveway, parked in two neat rows. The Tesla caught her eye first, plugged into its own charger in the garage.
She knew they had money. But fucking hell. The house itself was more subtle, didn’t scream rich in her face in twelve languages - from the outside anyways.
It took her a moment to settle herself, to put a smile on her face. The Dolans, it seemed, where the type of people who showed up at the shave ice stand in Hawaii on vacation - not the ones who worked it.
But she’d known that. And she tried to remind herself of exactly how their wealth was going to work in her favor, for the sales of ‘their’ book, which would increase her cut. And so, she smoothed her frizzy hair as best she could and went up to the door.
She didn’t have to knock. Instead, the door swung open, a bright young woman standing there with a welcoming smile.
“Koa?”
“That’s me.”
“Hi! I’m Adele, the twins assistant.”
Koa swallowed. Of course. Of course they had an assistant. Why wouldn’t they.
“Nice to meet you.”
“Come on in, it’s hot out there.” Adele stepped to the side, revealing the interior of the house.
It was subtle. If Koa were to write it, she’d describe the warmth. It radiated from multiple centers - the neutral woods, the simple decorations, the dark appliances, the fireplace on the far wall, and the very tall, smiling man with a tattoo sleeve by the door.
In the next paragraph, she’d talk about the cold. It came from one place, one specific spot in the living room. His back was half turned away, but his stiffness, his annoyance, radiated off his shoulders with less effort than it took him to breathe.
Koa swallowed hard again.
“Hey, I’m Ethan. It’s nice to finally put a face with the writing.” His voice was as genuine as his smile, which he tried to make wide enough for the two of them it seemed.
By process of elimination, she knew it was Grayson who stood up rather slowly and made his way over.
“I’m Grayson. Nice to meet you.” His voice was flatter than the mantle behind him. Koa smiled anyways.
They each held out a hand, and she prayed her palm wasn’t sweaty from her walk when she shook them one by one.
Ethan pulled out a chair for her at the island, metal legs groaning against the hardwood.
“You want a drink?”
“Yeah, that’d be great actually. Thanks.” The formality tasted sour on her tongue. She told herself she wasn’t going to do this, wasn’t going to make herself out to be someone more professional than she really was.
But Grayson had her on edge. Even when Ethan sat down in the chair beside her with two glasses of water, Grayson stood tall on the other side of the island, arms crossed and strong brow furrowed.
Silence filled the space with emptiness, and Koa drank her water, her rings tinkling against her glass.
“So-” Ethan started, finally breaking the tension. “This meeting isn’t anything like crazy formal, we just kinda wanted to touch base with you, get to know you a bit and figure out exactly how we’re gonna do this.”
“Yeah, no that’s great. I’m down for that, that’s a good idea.”
“We’ve never even thought about writing a book really, so we’re kinda at your mercy.” Ethan’s laugh wasn’t loud enough to cover Grayson’s scoff. Koa watched him for a moment, analyzed him. He seemed tense, and angry, and sad all at once somehow. The tension in his jaw was sharp, but there was a fear in there somewhere that she could sense. He caught her eye, and she turned back to Ethan.
“Well, this is gonna be new for all of us I think. The thing about this is I’m not writing as me, I’m writing as you two. It’s from your perspective, it’s what you want to say. I’m just here to help you say it. So yeah, I’ll help guide you all in what you want in there and how to arrange it to get people hooked and into it, but-”
“Do you usually ghost write stuff for people?” Grayson leaned against the counter, shoulder broad and wide. Intimidating. The tattoos that peaked out from under the short sleeve of his shirt were delicate lines. Gentle. She looked at those instead when she spoke.
“Uh, no. This is my first time doing it formally.”
“So what do you write then.”
“My specialty is fiction. Novels.”
“Great. Fucking fantastic.” To Koa’s amazement, Grayson was laughing. Running his hands over his face and up through his long hair. Callous.
“I’m sorry, is writing novels a bad thing?”
“No. But I’m not a character you get to make however you want.” He met her eyes then, the green of them so dark they looked brown as he stared at her. “I’m a person.”
“I figured that much out for myself. If you have an issue, I’m all ears.”
Even she was impressed with how steady her voice was. She clasped her hands lightly together and rested them on the island, the way white business men always did in movies, and stared him down.
“Full disclosure, the book was more my idea, less Grayson’s,” Ethan chimed in.
“All Ethan’s, none of mine,” Grayson corrected. “Because I know how this shit goes. You’re gonna twist whatever you need to get a story together, make us tell shit we don’t want to tell and put it out for the world to read just to get your bag. And I don’t want any part of it.”
It was Koa’s turn to laugh. “Well buddy, you’re giving me plenty of content to work with if I’m supposed to be building a character profile on you or whatever the fuck it is you think I’m here to do.”
“Uh-” Ethan barely got the syllable out.
“You know, most people would kill for this. This book will be everywhere, and you have a chance to tell the world something and actually have them hear it. Don’t throw that away so quick.”
Something in Grayson’s face changed, and it made her want to pull her words back out of the air.
“Yeah, well I’m pretty fucking sure I’ve given the world enough of myself, but thanks for the offer.”
With that, Grayson turned on his heel and walked out of the kitchen.
“Bro-” Ethan called out.
“It’s fine,” Koa muttered.
“I’m sorry, really. He’s kinda going through it right now, there’s been a lot of stuff going on and he’s just worried. I’ll talk to him, we’ll figure out how to make this work.”
“Right.”
Ethan frowned. “Koa, I’m serious. I really liked your stuff, and I know you can write a kick ass book for us. I want you to, and he will too, I just gotta get him to get his head out of his ass.”
“Good luck with that one,” Koa chuckled, shaking her head. “I’m gonna go.”
“Okay. I’ll text you and we can figure out another time to figure out the details.”
“Sounds good. I’ll brainstorm some stuff.”
“Sick. Sorry, again, for all that. Drive safe.”
Koa put her backpack over her shoulder and climbed out of the chair, chugging the rest of the water in her glass, knowing she’d need it for her walk to the bus stop.
“Yeah. See you later Ethan. Like I said; good luck.”

If By Chance // E.D
Summary: It’s been 2 years since she’d last seen him, what would happen if by chance they were to meet once more?

If someone were to tell Aurora Beckett’s 12 year old self that by the time she was 20, she would of lost all contact with Ethan Dolan? She would of thought the notion to be absolutely absurd.
Since the first day of 4th grade when two identical boys approached her as she sat alone, leg bobbing up and down nervously and thumbs twirling together, the twins had decided then and there that she was going to be their best friend.
They wanted to make her feel included and seen. Although they knew all to well themselves how it feels to be alienated, they’d never been alone, always having each other. They swore that day she’d never feel alone again.
Ever since that day, they’d been true to their word. Endless amounts of movie nights, beach trips, late night snack runs. They had experienced so much of their teen years together. Aurora had caught herself gravitating more towards the older twin, finding a particular comfort in his vibrant presence. God knows she loves both of them with her whole heart and would drop everything in an instant for either of them, but there has seemingly always been something more between her and Ethan, just below the surface, yearning to be acknowledged. Yet here she was 11 years down the line, now having gone almost two years without so much as a hello from the only boy she’s ever been in love with.
When the twins turned 15, they decided to chase their growing career across the country from the state they’d all called home for so long. After a lot of tears and begging her best friends not to leave her behind, Aurora came around to their decision. She wanted nothing more than for them to be happy and if moving to Los Angeles meant they could follow their lifelong dream? She sure as hell wasn’t going to be the thing that stopped them, no matter how much it hurt her heart to wave them goodbye as they boarded the plane.
Everything had ran smoothly from there. They FaceTimed at every and any moment they could. They frequently flew back to Jersey for the holidays and birthdays, she would also fly out to California whenever she could. Her relationship with both twins remained strong and never once faltered.
That was until a certain twin began to drift, blaming it on meetings and work. This would of been a valid argument, were it not for Grayson, who confirmed that they in fact wouldn’t be busy when Ethan claimed to be swamped with business. It became very apparent that he was curving her, she just didn’t know nor could she understand why.
Was the new increase in fame getting to his head? He was always so grounded, so humble. Did he think he was above her now? Her superior? Maybe she wasn’t good enough for him? He’d always sworn her that she was the most important person in his life besides his family. These were the questions shed’d found herself asking every single day like a broken record.
Soon enough he’d dropped Aurora completely. She knew it was coming, she wasn’t naive, but it didn’t make it hurt any less when it did. Grayson kept contact as best he could, still asking to FaceTime at least once a month but she’d began to push him away. His face mirroring the boy she loathed but still craved so badly, it pained her to speak to Gray when his identical twin had caused her to cry herself to sleep most nights.
It had only been 4 months since she’d last spoken to Ethan when she discovered his sudden change of heart. The reason he’d ended their lifelong friendship? He’d met a girl. A gorgeous girl who Aurora later discovered to be called Arabella. He’d cut her off simply because he’d found a girlfriend? It didn’t make any sense.
But here she was now, sat on a 13 hour plane heading for the west coast. She couldn’t help but succumb to the memories pounding in her head, begging to fill her thoughts. All the times she’d been in this exact place making this journey, dying for the plane to hurry up and take her to the place she longed to be, wrapped up in Ethan’s arms. However, today she wouldn’t get to beeline towards the brown haired boy that filled her mind whilst awake and asleep. Today she would be picking up her rental car alone and driving towards her new start.
As she entered the door to her apartment, she found her racing mind instantly slowed. She already felt so much calmer in this place, it felt like home. Like this is where she was meant to be. She had received a promotion at her job, which happened to be located in the city of angels. Of course she accepted, the pay was incredible and she was never one to turn down the opportunity to travel and see the sights this amazing earth has to offer. It hadn’t even registered in her mind until just weeks before she was set to fly out that her once closest friends lived out there, now nothing but mere strangers.
She was just placing down the boxes after carrying them up the never ending flights of stairs that led to her new home, when she heard the notification. Reaching for her phone, expecting a text from her landlord, she was met with an all too familiar name.
From Grayson Dolan: Hey! I was just checking snap maps to see where the friend I’m meeting up with was and i saw your bitmoji. You’re in LA? Since when? For how long?
To Grayson Dolan: Hi G, I just moved out here for a promotion! I live here now i guess haha. We should grab coffee!
She didn’t know why she asked him to meet up, they hadn’t spoken in a long time and it would surely be awkward. Before she had time to overthink her decision too much, she received a reply.
From Grayson Dolan: Name the time and place and ill be there, I’ve missed you so much Rory.
To Grayson Dolan: Missed you more Grapeson!
From Grayson Dolan: Oh no we are not bringing that back.
To Grapeson🍇: Too late! Pick me up at 4 if you’re free?
From Grapeson🍇: See you soon love x
She couldn’t fight off the beaming smile that pulled at her lips. She’d be lying if she said she didn’t miss her best friend, after all he’d tried to keep contact. She’d let her feelings for Ethan get in the way of her friendship with Gray and ultimately lost one of the brightest lights the world had to offer. She’d be damned before she let herself mess that up again.

fun fact I wrote this and then tumblr DELETED IT :D but alas here it is again, inspired by that new pic of grayson cause I wanna hug him
photo creds to @hydrograyson who is wonderful, you should follow her if you aren’t!!
All he wanted was Chipotle. He thought it’d be nice to pick it up for the two of you, since it had been cold the last time they delivered it. Adele had insisted that she’d go, saying it was ‘part of her job’, but he refused, at least insisting on riding with her to pick it up.
Which was how he ended up parked on the curb, windows just light enough to be recognized through. The girl had been nice. Very nice actually, it wasn’t that. But as soon as she was headed back the way she came and the window was back up, he felt an uneasy pit in his stomach that persisted the whole drive home. Adele picked up on it and opted for the radio over conversation, hoping maybe it would be better by the time they got home.
You noticed as soon as he was through the door.
He walked straight to the counter and sat the bag down, leaving the top of it folded over. Any other day, he would have started unpacking it, probably offering you the half-empty chip bag with a sheepish smile.
“Hey,” you tried, unsurprised when he didn’t answer. He braced his hands on the edge of the counter. Adele made her exit quickly, giving you a little glance on her way down the hallway towards the office.
You stood with a sigh, moving over to your boyfriend and sliding the bag out of your way. You ducked under his stiff arm, filling the space in front of him and meeting his eyes. They were red, and you frowned.
“Hey,” you said again, raising a hand up to his cheek, running your fingers along the coarse hair of his beard that seemed to be growing faster than usual. “You’re okay.”
He knew your question, there was no reason to ask it. He’d tell you when he was ready. It took him a minute, and he rested some of the weight of his head into your palm before he sighed.
“A fan.”
You stiffened, eyebrows peaking as your protective instincts started to take over. He chuckled, turning his head to kiss your wrist in reassurance.
“She was fine. Nice actually.”
You relaxed a bit and waited for him to continue.
“I just know that picture is gonna be out there, and people are gonna wonder why I’m out doing stuff and not posting.” He looked down at you with sad eyes, and you wanted nothing more than to take all his worry away and make it your own.
“Baby, we talked about this. You’re allowed to take breaks.”
“I know, I know,” he said, but you both knew he didn’t believe it. He moved a hand to the hem of your shirt, wrapping and unwrapping it around his fingers.
“Everyone is allowed to take breaks from work. And for you, since your work is literally just you, it means disconnecting and leaving for a bit. And that’s okay. That’s healthy,” you explained, hoping it somehow got through to him.
“Yeah,” he murmured. Silence hung heavy for a moment, and you lifted your hands up around his neck, coaxing him to look at you.
“They’ll still be there. They still love you, and they’re smart. If you try to go back before you’re ready, they’re gonna see right through it. And that’s worse than just being gone for a little while. They’ll be okay, and they’ll be glad to have you back when you’re able to. Okay? You don’t owe anybody anything. You come first.”
His breath got a bit shaky, but his shoulders relaxed, and before you could move he had his arms wrapped around your waist, lifting you and sitting you down on the counter. You knew what he wanted, so you wrapped your legs around his waist, engulfed him as much as you could. He sniffled when you pressed a kiss to his neck, and then he was lifting you again, carrying you with ease down the hallway as you held onto him.
He opened the door and kicked off his shoes, food long forgotten as he climbed into bed, sitting you down gently before he climbed on top of you, putting as much weight as he knew you were capable of withstanding.
You would have let him crush you if it would make him feel better. Instead, you wiggled down until his head was in the crook of your neck, cold nose against your jaw as you ran your hand through his hair, scratching gently.
“I love you,” he whispered, and you only squeezed him tighter to you, protecting him from every expectation he’d set on himself for a moment.
“Love you more,” you said, kissing his forehead. He shook his head against you and closed his eyes, letting himself be held by the girl he loved

If By Chance Pt. 2 // E.D
Part 1
Summary: It’s been 2 years since she’d last seen him, what would happen if by chance they were to meet once more?
Sorry for being gone for so long! Ive been super busy and just haven’t had any time to write. I’ll hopefully post a bit more regularly this year! I love you all mwah!!🥰
4:35pm, Great.
It was the first time she would be seeing Gray in what felt like eternity and she was already late, Classic Rory. In her defence, he had agreed to pick her up but a meeting running over later than expected meant she was left to fend for herself. The fact that she didn’t know her way around LA yet paired along with her general lack of time management left her here, outside of the adorable, little cafe Gray had sent her the address for.
She felt the explosion of butterflies erupt within her stomach at the sight of his car and pulled in next to it. She took a moment to compose her thoughts that seemed to be racing along with her heart. Taking a final deep breath, she climbed out from her car and made a start towards the cafe door.
From the very moment she laid her eyes on his tall figure, nothing could of slowed the pace she ran towards him. She called out his name and as he glanced up from his phone, the widest smile took over his face. Opening up his arms just in time, he caught her in his warm embrace. It felt good to be home.
“I missed you so much.” He sighed contently, spinning her around one more time before placing her body back firmly on the ground.
“Missed you more Grapeson.” She replied with a smirk.
“Wow... that’s gotta be a record, we’ve been together what? One whole minute and you’ve already said it.” He rolled his eyes, coaxing a giggle from Rory.
“I said we were bringing it back my love and i meant it!” She grinned smugly up at him before grabbing his hand and leading them into the coffee shop. As the little bell chimed, they were greeted by an older woman who beamed their way.
“Hello Grayson! Your usual i assume? And what can i get for you sweetheart?” She asked with a warm smile.
“Ill go get us a table, i know the best seats.” Grayson told her before wondering off to a far corner in the store.
“Ill get a hot chocolate please.” She replied graciously with a shy smile and the woman was quick to get started on the order.
“I’m Genevieve by the way but you my dear, can call me Gen! You know Grayson never mentioned he had a girlfriend, you’re absolutely gorgeous.” She began to make small talk as she poured Grayson’s coffee into its cup. Rory choked on air at gen’s words, gaping at her in shock.
“Were- were not together, just good friends.” She said with a deep blush.
“Oh my bad! You two would make a beautiful couple if i might say.”
Rory couldn’t help but smile at Gen’s bluntness, she loved her already. After some more casual conversation, Rory said her thank you to Gen and headed off toward the table Grayson had saved, gently placing their drinks on the tabletop before sliding into the booth seat. These seats in particular looked out onto a beautiful landscape and Rory couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief as she sank lower into the leather of the seat, this day couldn’t have gone any better. Nothing had changed between her and gray and she couldn’t be more thankful.
The two sat and talked for hours as the sun began to set on the city that awaited them just outside of the window. They filled each other in on everything and anything they could think of, from childhood memories to the launch of wakeheart. It was inevitable really, that they would eventually end up on the topic of a certain twin brother. No matter how much Rory had tried to change the subject, he always found a way back into the conversation, she knew shed have to face the music someday anyway, may as well bite the bullet sooner rather than later.
“He misses you, you know? He may be an absolute idiot and too damn stubborn to ever admit it but i know that he does. He still reads through your old messages and looks at old photos. He still checks your socials every now and then, I’ve seen him.”
Rory sighed with a small shake of her head.
“Gray, he dropped me remember? No one told him he had to do that, he got a girlfriend and she became more important. That’s life i guess and I’ve dealt with that knowledge for years now. He prioritised her over me and that’s on him.” She let her gaze drift from his face to the window beside her, now littered with stray raindrops from the light drizzle that had began.
She allowed herself to breathe deeply, basking in the feelings that a crisp fall breeze always managed to stir within her. God, did she love autumn. Nothing could compare to the sight of the leaves changing to colours of fire and passion before her very eyes. Along with the colder weather came rainy days, and with rainy days? Time she could spend huddled up in front of a window reading whatever book she’d chosen for that week. Everyone who has ever known Rory, would know full well she would would be half way through that book within the space of a few hours.
Something about the rain had always enticed her, she felt a strange comfort within the damp weather that left most people feeling miserable. She thrived in it, wanting nothing more than to cozy up in fluffy socks and warm layers of clothes and watch droplets race along the panes of the nearest window.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
Slightly startled from his sudden appearance, she beckoned her breathing to calm down to a steady pace once again. She allowed her eyes to trail up his tall frame, soaking him in as much as she could. There stood Ethan in all his glory along with a piping hot mug of her favourite, hot chocolate. Rory was never much of a coffee drinker, always having a sweet tooth and preferring the chocolatey taste to the bitterness a cup of coffee would leave in her mouth for hours. Besides, no one likes coffee breath. She allowed her gaze to retreat back to its fixed spot, staring out into the forest that lined the perimeter of the Dolan’s backyard.
“Then I hate to break it to you E but you’ll be short of quite a few pennies by the time you’ve heard all of the thoughts that are running around my mind right now.”
She allowed a defeated sigh to slip past her lips, filling the silence that had fallen between the two. It was true, her mind had been all over the place ever since the moment the twins had told her of their plan to pursue a career in Los Angeles. She felt like her world was collapsing in on her and in a way, it was. Her whole life as she knew it consisted of Ethan and Grayson Dolan, she had spent practically everyday with the pair for as long as she could remember and she wasn’t sure if she was ready for that chapter of her life to be over.
“A hot chocolate instead? Please Rory, talk to me. I know this is going to be a big change for you, but it is for me and Grayson too yeah? Were all going to be feeling the same emotions in the next few weeks, we have to be there for each other and I can’t do that if you wont open up to me.”
Sliding down opposite her small frame on the cold hardwood floor of his childhood home, Ethan couldn’t help but become overwhelmed by his emotions. This had been his home for many years, it contained so many memories. These very walls had been witness to the life of the three best friends and the idea of leaving this part of his life behind, leaving his best friend behind? It tore Ethan to pieces but he was also optimistic for this exciting new chapter. He tried to remain positive and think of the new adventures they will get to have in the city of angels. The memories he can make with the ones he holds closest.
“Everything is changing E. I don’t think I’m ready to move on from this, I don’t want to be left behind again. I’m going to be so alone here, you guys are the only real friends I have. I don’t want to lose you, or Grayson.”
A stray tear made it’s way down her cheek as the rain continued outside. She looked up to meet the eyes of her best friend, the boy she’d always love. His hand reached out for hers and clasped it tightly in his own. She saw a flash of hope flash across his beautiful brown eyes that she adored so much.
“You could come with us you know? There’s a spare room in the apartment and you know I...we would love to have you there with us. We could go on so many adventures and explore California and we could-“
“E, as wonderful as that sounds, you know my mom would never let me just drop everything and go. What about school? College? You know what she expects of me. I really wish it was that simple.”
In that moment, Rory swore she saw a small piece of Ethan’s heart break away before her very eyes. She forced her tears back, choking slightly from the lack of air that seemed to be escaping her lungs. Why did this have to be so hard? Ethan paused for what felt like eternity before speaking once more.
“I’m going to miss you so much my little lion, so fucking much.”
He outstretched his arms, his warm embrace calling her name. She crawled over to him, closing the small gap that was between them. She clung to his torso as he stroked his fingers through her hair soothingly.
“Nothing is going to change between us Rory, absolutely nothing.”
“Why don’t you come back to our place? I’m not ready to say goodbye yet anyway and I know he’d love to see you. Please, just for a little while?” Gray’s words snapped her back from her reminiscing. He looked into her eyes with such hope, she just couldn’t say no to him.
“God damn those puppy eyes” she cursed under her breath, causing a smirk from Grayson who sat opposite her with a triumphant look on his face.
“I better not regret this Dolan.”

If there was one thing in this world that Ethan was sure of, it would be his love for you. He’d never been the movie material, ‘hopeless romantic’ type of guy. Until he met you. You stirred feelings deep within Ethan that he was yet to feel before you waltzed your way into his life, breaking down his walls with little to no effort.
Straight off the bat, you understood him more than anyone else in his life, sometimes even more than his own twin. Everything just seemed to make perfect sense when he was with you. He didn’t have to act or pretend. He could show his true self to you without the fear of judgment consuming his mind. You understood his humour, never taking his sarcastic responses to heart like some of the previous girls he had been with. You shared his deep love for adventure, never passing up on an opportunity to explore the world around you.
His last relationship had ended just over a year ago. Despite repeatedly telling his twin he wasn’t ready to date again, he found himself entering the bar, side by side with said brother. How had he convinced him this was a good idea, that he should get back out there? But the moment he first lay his eyes on you with microphone in hand, pouring your heart and soul into the lyrics of “Super Trouper” by ABBA? He knew you were the one.
The way your eyes crinkled in the corners from the massive grin lighting up your face. Hair tied up and out of your face as you danced around with your best friend, serenading her with your carefree singing. You sang and swayed like nobody was watching and that had Ethan hooked. You glanced out into the sea of people watching your performance when you’d locked eyes with him, flashing him your pearly whites with flushed cheeks.
He swore he would do anything to keep that god damn gorgeous smile on your face for as long as you’d let him. As the final notes rang out, you’d began to make your way through the crowd to him. You met his eyes and the rest was history.
2 years down the line and he has managed to keep his promise. He can’t recall a single day since your first interaction that you haven’t had that beaming smile plastered to your face, cheek muscles sore from the grin that refuses to give way. Even on some of your hardest days, he always found a way to make you giggle and you couldn’t be more grateful.
Ethan swears he’d never lived a moment of his life before he met you. Everything to ever happen in his life, none of it made sense. The rise to fame, the fast paced lifestyle? He could never wrap his head around it all. He’d travelled to every corner of the globe, yet the only place he knew he always wanted to be, was with you. His universe began with, and it will end with you. The way he feels for you? He knows he could never share that with another soul. It’s always you.
Every now and then, Ethan finds himself replaying that evening in his head. The flashing stage lights that lit up your angelic features so perfectly. Your voice filling the entire area and captivating the focus of all in the room. Just how much you had changed his life for the better. Damn, he really should thank Gray.
