I kept my fingers crossed and was lucky enough to get a fic in the fantasy genre. I tried capturing at least 3 different scenes. Definitely go read when it’s posted 😉

Once, there was an angel named Kurapika, who, as a celestial being, longed to be able to know what ‘feeling’ is.

For years of observing and guiding humans, a doctor captured his attention for the very first time. Dr. Paladiknight, a human, an amazing doctor rather, who fights with other human’s fate, doing the best he could to save all the patients on his table, even when it’s time for them to go.

Curiosity kills the cat and fortunately, Kurapika is not a cat. So, he falls in love instead. Hard.

Could an angel and a human have a shot at the thing called love? Would Leorio be okay once he finds out the truth about him? Most importantly, what would Kurapika do?

HxH Big Bang 2022 Updates and Info

Hello and Welcome to the Seventh Hunter x Hunter Big Bang!

Sign-ups open January 14th, so below are some important updates and info. Scroll to the bottom for this year’s timeline and links to the Guidebook and our Carrd, keep reading to check out important information and updates! 

So, what is a Big Bang?

A Big Bang is an event that pairs artists and writers together to create content for a series, ship, or theme. Writers will complete a longer story and artists will complete at least one piece of artwork based off of their writer’s fic. The goal is to create new, complete works that will inspire and add to the fandom! This will result in an influx of new works for the HxH fandom to enjoy and, as an added bonus, it will encourage collaboration between fandom writers and artists.

And how does it work?

Authors will sign up to write a fic, and after they know what they plan to write, submit a summary of their story. Artists will then be able to claim the fic they want based ONLY on the blind summary. From that point the writers will be given a deadline to finish their full stories and then the artists will be able to make their accompanying piece.

**Changes for 2022**

This year, we are implementing a few changes to ensure things run smoothly! Below are the most important bits for you to know, which are further explained in the guidebook (linked at the bottom!). 

New: Writer Waitlist

For the last few years, we’ve had more writers than artists sign up, which, while the interest and excitement for the event is incredible, makes it hard on our wonderful artists to keep up! 

Therefore, this year we are accepting writers to the Discord on a first-come, first-serve basis until January 28th and will be accepting an equal number of artists and authors until this point.  After January 28th, we will be placing writers on a waitlist from which they will continue to be accepted as more artists join the event until March 31. 

Updated: Writer/Artist Collaborations 

Last year, folks really loved the collaboration aspect of the event! For 2022, we are asking that all authors be open to collaboration if their artist requests it. This just means you’ll be keeping your artists updated periodically. 

Artists who choose not to collaborate will have their pairing kept secret until the reveal--surprises are fun! 

Updated: Multiple Reveal Dates 

Multiple reveal dates worked well last year, but we’ve decided that having only two this year will work better!

Reveal dates for 2022 are July 1st and July 15th.

Updated: Posting Requirements for Multi-Chapter Works

Last year, we asked that authors posted their entire work on their reveal date, which we feel may have led to authors choosing to write shorter works. 

This year, to allow for more ambitious pieces and flexibility in posting, we are still asking for the first chapter to be posted on your reveal date, but we are extending the end deadline to December 31st!

"Listen, Leo, this island is strange. It’s like some sort of ancient power is surrounding it, flowing through it, and almost everyone here is some brand of magical. You’ve gotta be careful, ‘cause there’s only so much I can do just by watching over you.”

“No, hold on, my landlord is a witch?”

Pietro flexes Kurapika’s fingers, as if hoping claws would sprout from them.“I don’t know exactly, but, you know, they do spells and stuff, and as far as I can tell, they’re only part human.”

Leorio feels he is a little too old for fairy tales, but when his roommate (and landlord) suddenly returns from their mysterious travels, is the subject of an assassination attempt and then is possessed by his dead best friend, he realises he needs to open his mind a little.

Kurapika is glad that they have someone to help them out with their dubious attempts at first aid, but they do wish it had been someone a little less clueless.

Neither of them find what they're looking for on the island—not initially. They will, though.

I’m so happy to share my second set of art for the @hxhbigbang22 ! We’re Legends by @canzie-gumm is one of the most unique video game/streamer au’s I’ve had the pleasure of reading and I am super hyped to share these outfit designs for Gon and Killua’s in-game avatars. Happy Hunting everyone!

HELLO AGAIN! I totally didn’t have to, but completely wanted to, HERE is ANOTHER piece for @hxhbigbang22! I drew it for my author’s story @ville-io‘s “Gray is a beautiful color (with you)” !!

I truly loved the story so much I had to animate one of my favorite scenes, who cares if I’ve never animated before!! It did get a little messy at the end, but I liked it alot for my first time, (movement inspired by some Steven Universe floating mechanic).
