A few yards/meters of Party Mix and Classic Grampa Roy salty peanut brittles. One of my oldest and dearest friends Karena's grandaddy had a Christmas birthday. He used to make peanut brittle every Christmas. He told me when I was a teenager, how Peanut brittle was his favorite treat his mother made for the holidays that was REALLY for his special day, and it always felt like the best of treats. It is also a very Texan thing to make and share this time of year. It's the first serious candy I perfected. Every single time I make it I miss the Olson (Estes🤠) part of my heart. 💕 I wanted my candy to honor Grampa Roy and his gruff sweetness. I knew the day I met Karena in Algebra class that she was cool. I however did not know her parents and Grandparents would love me and stand by my side through the most important losses of my life. They loved me and Reasie through the first holidays after Momma died, and have never not cared for me. They are truly family in the most sacred and faithful ways. Just like most things I make, this one comes from the best part of me.
