I am constantly reminded of the beauty and diversity we have on this planet and in Africa. Africa is home and in my blood. It is in my breath and my thoughts. But sadly many believe Africa is not for Africans and so many protected areas prevent locals and African citizens from entering the park through their exorbitant fees. So in the end can we blame people for poaching, and raiding protected areas when they have no connection to reserve and all they see are affluent foreigners enjoying "Our Natural Heritage"! It is time Africans stands up to say "Let's build a future that is bright colourful and beautiful together"! #africa #nature #wildlifeplanet #people #wildlife #beauty #beautiful #economy #humanwildlife #conflict #poaching #rhino #elephant #giraffe #together #community https://www.instagram.com/p/B0GV30jJeK3/?igshid=shswla8oog57

Snakes in India, dingoes in Australia, elephants in Africa: HSI works globally to resolve human-wildlife conflicts
Snakes in India, dingoes in Australia, elephants in Africa: HSI works globally to resolve human-wildlife conflicts
In South Africa, we have worked to pioneer the use of immunocontraception for elephants. This innovative technology spares the lives of hundreds of elephants each year and keeps their numbers from rising too fast. It also helps to reduce breakouts from the reserves and encounters with people. Photo by Michelle Riley/The HSUS

[ad_1]
Heggove, Karnataka:
On the day Yogesh became another of the dozens of Indians trampled to death each year, the coffee plantation worker knew from the firecrackers set off nearby that danger was at hand.
“Everything happened so fast. The elephant suddenly emerged from behind the bushes, trampled him and disappeared,” his younger brother Girish — thin, bearded and wearing a Nike baseball…

Through the shadows I walk, into the darkness I prowl, ever closer to my meal, inch by inch, without crackle, without sound. My silence is your deception, and my adaptability is my secret. Together my speed, strength, and agility make me the Prince of the Savannah, the Lord of the Shadows. But my survival is threatened by poachers that want to sell my skin to those believe that it is a symbol of wealth and my bones for Chinese medicine, and habitat destruction and by farmers killing me. You see my one problem is that I am not choosey about my prey and I sometimes end up killing livestock as they are easy to kill. #leopard #bigfive #africa #india #bushlife #predator #poetryinmotion #savannah #beauty #cat #bigcat #humanwildlife #humanwildlifeconflict #poaching #habitatloss #extinction #extinctionrebellion #endextinction #extinctionisforever #exploitation #leopardslivesmatter #bigcatsmatter #wildlife #wildlifematters @dream_of_africa_ @conservationtravelafrica @africa_nature @animalplanetindia @wildlife.hd @world_wildlife @wildlife @wildlifesos @wildlifeplanet (at South Luangwa National Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBaOajdpReB/?igshid=1l5s4avu2imij
