Part 4 from my au
Ickis lay inside his bed.
Oblina and Krumm make sure Ickis is comfortable in bed, adjusting the blankets and making sure he has everything he needs
.
Oblina (concerned): get plenty of rest,Ickis. We’ll check on you frequently and bring you anything you need.
Ickis: you Don t need to be caring about me honey, you just had enough of the class lessons also scaring asigments.
Oblina shakes her head, her expression filled with concern.
Oblina: We’re your friends,Ickis. Of course we’re going to worry about you. And your health is more important than than anything than class or scaring humans. So just focus on resting and getting better, okay
Ickis: you are going to date a monster who is reckless.
Oblina raises an eyebrow and looks at Ickis with playful smile.
Oblina: what’s that supposed to mean Ickis
Are you calling yourself reckless
Ickis: I m calling myself a reckless honey
Oblina laughs softly and shakes her head.
Oblina:oh,Ickis. You’re not reckless, you’re just young and adventurous. But sometimes that curiosity can lead you into tricky situations. We just don’t want you getting hurt, that’s all.
Ickis: you worry to much and is not good for you because you will missing studies or worst being snorched
Oblina looks slightly sheepish as she nods.
.
Oblina: you re right, I m worrying to much. But it’s only because I care about you Ickis. We both do. It’s hard not to be concerned when one of our friends gets hurt.
Krumm pipes up,trying to lighten the mood after eating a bug.
Krumm(cheerfully): and don’t worry about us missing study,Ickis. We can catch up easily.
It was night time the three friends are sleeping.
~Flashback~
Ickis was a younger monster before he attended the monster academy and meeting Oblina and Krumm, his maternal uncle Scraw take him to show the red sewers the dangerous place where no monster do not return alive.
As Ickis follows his maternal uncle Scraw into the red sewers,an eerie atmosphere fills the air. The red walls and dim lighting cast a menacing glow. Scraw holds a kind of a lantern, providing some light in the encroaching darkness.
Scraw: do you know why this sewers are red.
Young Ickis shakes his head, staring ahead the red walls with wide eyes.
Ickis(curious): no,uncle Scraw. I don’t know why the sewers are red. Can you tell me.
Ickis s eyes widen wit a mix of fear and intrigue.
Ickis(nervous):so other monsters have gone in here and never come back
That sounds dangerous,Uncle Scraw.
He made a nervous sounds, glancing around the dimly lit environment.
Young Ickis face lights up with curiosity at the mention of his mother involvement.
Ickis(excitement):you mean,my mother discovered the sewers that’s amazing tell me more, uncle Scraw . Why did she find it so scary
He hangs onto every word, his imagination running wild with the possibilities of the mysterious red sewer
Scraw: well my older sister Diamond was dating your father,Slickis the great student from our generation,Diamond was wondering where was her lover and she find him enter the red sewer, something that her feels it’s dangerous she entered inside and saving your father out of that place.
Young Ickis eyes sparkle with fascination as Scraw delves deeper into the story of his parents adventure.
Ickis(eagerly): so, my mother,Diamond, saved my father from this sewers that’s incredible
What happened in here to scare her so much, Uncle Scraw did they encounter a monster or something even worse.
Ickis hangs on every word, enthralled by the tale of his parents bravery and the mysteries of the red sewers
Scraw: they found a dead monster inside those sewers it was,the Gromble s father, yes our master is the Gromble but he didn’t t know that his father died in.
Young Ickis gasped, his eyes wide with both amazement and simpathy.
Ickis(quietly): they found the Gromble s father and he died in here
That’s tragic. How did he die uncle Scraw.
His young mind processes the gravity of the situation, filled with a mix of curiosity and sorrow Mr.Gromble s father.
Scraw: well a monster hunter shoot inside the red sewer and hit Gromble s father and he died from an infection from his wounds.
Young Ickis covers his mouth with his hands, his eyes filled with a mix of shock, sadness, and horror.
Ickis(whispers): oh no,that’s horrible. The Gromble s father was shot by a monster hunter and died from infection. Poor Mr. Gromble, that must have been so hard on him.
Ickis s expression turns solemn as he ponders the weight of the story
Scraw: is getting late and I don’t want your mother wondering where you was.
Ickis nods, understanding that it’s time to return home.
Ickis( determined): you’re right uncle Scraw. Mom will be worried if I stay out to late. But thank you for taking me on this adventure today. It was both scary and exciting. I’ll never forget it.
With a mix of. Gratitude and excitement, Ickis waves farewell to Scraw as he prepares to head back home.
Flashback ends~
Ickis sheed a tiny tear…
Ickis: thank you uncle Scraw for your advise…
Sleeps back again.
Oblina, who had been listening intently to the story, gently wipes away Ickis s tear, her eyes filled with empathy and support.
Oblina(softly): it’s okay, Ickis. Your uncle words were wise. Now get some rest and let your body heal. You ll feel better soon, I promise.
She gently adjusts his blanket, making sure he s comfortable and warm
She brushes a comforting hand through his cheek offering him the reassurance he needs.
To be continued.

“After calling Ptah “father of all fatherhood and of all gods, generator of all the human beings produced by his substance.“ Thou art without father, being, engendered by thy own will; thou art without mother, being born by the renewal of thine own substance from whom proceeds substance.” --Helena Petrovna Blavatsky “This trinity is found in the first three supplications of the Pater Noster. The union with God consists of performing all of these. The rest remains resolved...” With these three supplications, Krumm-Heller states: "we ask for an integral request, and if one day we achieve it, we will be Gods already, and therefore we will no longer need to ask." --Samael Aun Weor Image edit:Mahaboka

Ickis - Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
This is going back to my super little stage. When we watched this with my sisters without fail. Because cable TV was our other parental unit haha
Ickis is a small monster that looks like a rabbit (but it is not), who along with his friends: Oblina and Krumm, dedicate themselves to scaring humans. They also go to a school that is under a huge garbage dump. Where they show his scare styles.
I always found it curious that the director wore red heels. I think he had a wall or closet full of those shoes but I don't remember well.
Sometimes I remember some episodes, especially the crossover they had with the Rugrats. This is very nostalgic actually.

Nick Mag Highlights - #124 September 2006
Happy Mother’s Day everyone, and welcome back to another edition of Nick Mag Highlights! Today, we'll be checking out Issue #124, and its behind-the-scenes look at Barnyard. If you're looking for all the information you could want on the #1 animated movie of 2006, I'm afraid you're out of luck, because Cars is not mentioned anywhere in this issue.
(For the record, I’d watch Barnyard over Cars any day. Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is better than both of them, though.)
Excuse the lack of pretense, but I’m ready to just dive right into this one! I think whatever I’ve got to say about the movie Barnyard is best left for when we get to the actual section about it. Most I can say for now is I certainly have more experience with its sequel series, Back at the Barnyard, which I remember Nicktoons had a downright obsession with playing at all hours of the day. Guess it was popular!
Feeling like Wild Mike tonight? You can read the full magazine here.
So the theme of the issue is print, huh? I guess they’re right: if it weren’t for print, we’d never have Nickelodeon Magazine! Not to mention I would be out of a blog!
If the war on drugs is ever revitalized and you are ever in charge of marketing material similar to this, I recommend keeping any fill-in-the blanks on your ads to a minimum. I’m certain that this box was met with more phallic doodles and Cool S’s than it was heartfelt proclamations against drugs. But since I’m a little more mature than that, I’ll play along.
There. I don’t drink because I know if the Aaahh!!! Real Monsters characters were real they’d be disappointed in me for it. Krumm told me that in a dream once.
Man, big things were happening in the world of Nickelodeon this year! Avatar: The Last Airbender was still riding high, Barnyard and Nacho Libre were in theaters, and we saw the premiere of Mr. Meaty (plus The Jimmy-Timmy Power Hour 2 and 3, but those aren’t in this issue)! All equally powerful stuff, and no, that’s not up for debate.
Feel free to also note the fanmail, featuring all of the grave errors Nickelodeon Magazine got caught perpetuating in their previous issues, just like every other issue’s fanmail. Yep, nothing gets by these kids! I appreciate the crew was always willing to own up to their mistakes, but did they never get, y’know, drawings in the mail instead? Something like that? Younger me would’ve preferred those instead of reminding me the team behind Nickelodeon Magazine was only human, susceptible to making errors like anyone else. These guys made SpongeBob*! How could they ever be wrong!?
*Incorrect.
A nice surprise to see Yin Yang Yo!. I remember being obsessed with this show for a short time back when it was new on Toon Disney. Couldn’t tell you why since I don’t remember a lick of it now. I’m only mentioning it because of that little leaflet you might have noticed that’s very obviously obscuring the page…
Yeah! Turns out there’s a whole 6 page comic in here, just for this ad. That’s genuinely a really cool idea, and I can’t imagine it was cheap to print something like this. Still doesn’t exactly remind me why I like the show, per se (this writing is not for me), but I can respect some cool marketing when I see it.
Pretty star-studded Celeb Page this time around, I actually recognize everyone here! And the rather delicately generic questions being asked have just reminded me that this is a back-to-school issue. It was September after all, so I guess the “print” theme is a little more appropriate than I thought.
If summer vacation is still relevant to the life of anyone reading this, do take a second to appreciate that the season has only just begun. Because, truly, there is no greater feeling I know than experiencing the advent of a breathtakingly liberating summer vacatio- hey! Bruce Willis is wearing an Over The Hedge hat in that picture! Cool!
Confusing little bit of cross-promotion here, if only due to the fact this Avatar: The Last Airbender-themed ad doesn’t actually use any Avatar terminology, or mention anything from the show really. Not willing to catch flying french fries with your mouth? Then sorry, you’re definitely a fire… kind of… guy. Legally we cannot call you a bender.
Other notable points about this Burger King ad: - Isn’t the name “The Extinguisher” way more fitting for a water-user than a fire-user? I think they may have mixed up the arrows there. - For some reason this 2006 ad is using a pristine hand puppet of their King mascot from the 1970’s. - Doesn’t have any picture of the advertised toys. Wonder if they were any good.
Bet you’ve never seen a full-page ad for one flash game before, huh? And neither have I, I think! I’m pretty sure this was still while Nickelodeon was trying to sell games through their “Nick Cash” system, where you could purchase computer games and digital items (for games like Neopets, when Viacom still owned it) via their online storefront Nick Arcade (not to be confused with the ‘90s game show of the same name). So yeah, if they were planning on making sales off of this, I guess I understand the big-time marketing.
I really like that you’re supposed to clip out the three tips they give you. Do the editors really think it’s that cumbersome to open up a magazine when you want to read something?
Awesome two-page spread of art from James “Jimmy” Yamasaki, who’s done tons of great freelance art for a wide variety of different magazines. If you want to take a look, he’s posted lots of his work on his Instagram.
Even if the activity is a little shallow, it’s nice to see something here that’s giving books a shoutout. With all the aggressive marketing these issues had for all the latest movies and TV shows, it’s still good to remind kids that literature is worth your time too.
Am I reading a little too deep into this? Maybe, but I think that means the activity is working.
Hey, this is pretty cool! And fairly educational at that. I could see this genuinely being useful for any kid looking to make their own comics, and font choice is a pretty important aspect you may not think about at first, especially when you’re younger. A fair bit of kids probably skipped this section, but hopefully it was helpful for someone.
For some reason, Disney’s best idea for advertising their upcoming DVD releases was door hangers. I distinctly remember there being Lilo & Stitch 2 and Tarzan II-themed ads with the same gimmick, and I don’t get it. I guess it’s a way to increase the ad’s lifespan? Kids get to cut it out, and keep it hanging on their door knob for a couple days before their parents throw it away, so I guess everyone wins right? Well sorry Disney, my childhood bedroom didn’t even have a door knob. And guess who didn’t watch Brother Bear 2 either?
Another issue, another Comic Book. This time with an awesomely done cover by artist Souther Salazar (they’ve got tons of other colorful and creative work on their official website). Nice to see Impy make the front page in the top left there, too.
Alright before we get into it, I quickly want to talk about this. Did you know that some of the style guides (official documents that outline how a design should be represented) for different pieces of SpongeBob merchandise are available on the Internet Archive?
I’ll give an example: see that yellow shirt on the top right, with the punk-looking SpongeBob and electric guitars? That shirt was just one part of a series of punk-themed SpongeBob SquarePants merch, and the people designing that series had to refer back to this style guide to make sure everything in the series looked consistent. It’s really cool because those guides often include all of the official illustrations that were used in the merchandise in high quality, alongside stuff like official logos and fonts.
Here’s a list of all the SpongeBob-themed style guides I could find on the archive:
Punk Art Guide
Icon Art Guide (Has anyone seen this art used for any merch? I haven’t and I’m really curious.)
SketchBob Art Guide
St. Patrick’s Day Art Supplement
Fall 2004 Apparel Guide
Bedtime Style Guide
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Style Guide
10th Anniversary Style Guide (The longest one, containing tons of official art, designs, and backgrounds)
The SpongeBob SquarePants Toolkit 2002
Bonus:
The SpongeBob SquarePants Sculpting Guide (contains 2D and 3D turnarounds of most of the main characters)
The Ren & Stimpy Show Style Guide
The Fairly OddParents Illustrator Guidelines
I could totally be alone in finding these so interesting, but hey, if you’re a fan of these characters, they might be nice to hold onto.
I may not have been much of an Avatar: The Last Airbender fan growing up, but I’ll be the first one to admit it’s one of Nickelodeon’s best-looking and well-animated shows. Seriously, some of those action scenes in particular were near movie-quality.
This comic definitely keeps up the trend of great visuals, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the team behind it. Pencils and inks were done by Joaquim Dos Santos, who did storyboards and directing duties for seasons two and three of the show, and is currently co-directing Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and its sequel(!). Similarly, the colors were done by a long-time crewmember of the show, Hye-Jung Kim. Great stuff all around.
Well, this is unexpected! I know the Moomin series is popular with a lot of people, so it’s really cool to see it featured in the magazine here. I’m not really familiar myself, but I might have to check out more! This is as pleasant as it is funny.
Now, I don’t usually bring up the “Gag Station” pages in these retrospectives. It’s not on purpose, I just haven’t usually got much to say, but this time I actually wanted to point out the… oh… uh, what is that down there, is that another…?
Oh, it’s another one of these pull-out mini comics, like the YinYangYo! thing from earlier. Except this time with, y’know, Walmart mascots. Yeah, it’s a little less impressive when it’s done a second time, and with Walmart mascots I’ve never heard of before, and when it’s mostly just made up of pictures of clothes.
Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yeah.
The guy who made this, Johnny Ryan, went on to co-create Pig Goat Banana Cricket for Nickelodeon in 2015. Do with that what you will.
Here’s an odd piece of early 2000’s trivia: the ESRB had ads for itself! And not just in print either, but full on TV commercials. Those black-and-white letters were no longer content to sit idly by on the bottom left corners of the game cases; they were ready to make themselves known. In regards to print ads, there’s way more than just this one, and they all had their own characters and stories informing you why content ratings are just the bee’s knees. What I find most interesting about them is that they were made in collaboration with the artists behind Penny Arcade, a video game-themed webcomic that’s been running since 1998. Apparently in 2018, the ESRB and the Penny Arcade team worked together again to update the ads, but I’ve never seen one of these new ones in the wild. Hopefully we can get these revitalized before the next Mortal Kombat game. Don't want to risk another fiasco.
I think this section on unique books is pretty cool, I only wish the magazine team felt the same! Seriously, are we filling the story’s extra space with ads, or the other way around?
But yeah, pretty cool seeing both the smallest and largest books on Earth, even if those titles have probably been usurped by now. I was also quite curious about Shelley Jackson’s “Skin” project mentioned in the bottom right, and if you're just as curious, it was indeed finished in 2011 with a video featuring the full story and all its participants here.
Oh, and if you get a chance, that Voynich Manuscript thing they mention is available on Yale’s website. Those historians dudes are still looking for someone to make heads or tails of that thing. I think they might just be lazy, if you ask me.
Yep, I still love these calendars. I have to ask though, what’s so “pear” about September? I thought August was the start of pear season.
Also, wow, there’s a whole Wizard of Oz-themed festival in Chesterton, Indiana? I wonder what that’s like…
…
Only took us the whole issue, but we’re finally here at Barnyard! Or, what I’m just now realizing it should have been called, Funny Farm. Interestingly, the film had already been out for a month by the time they did this promotion, but maybe Kevin James was sick last month, I dunno. They’re really stretching for the questions here too, I mean c’mon, who cares if Kevin James likes the sounds of cowbells? I want to hear more about his… udder?
Good lord, they showed this to children…
Anyway, I personally didn’t see the movie when it came out, but like I said, they played Back at the Barnyard damn near constantly. I thought that show must’ve had a million episodes with how often Nickelodeon showed it off.
I did eventually get around to watching the film, and I’m at least glad to know I wasn’t missing out on much. It’s not a particularly good film, and while it may have come from many of the same people that brought us Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (including having the same creator, Steve Oedekerk), Barnyard lacks much of the imagination and charm that made that film so compelling. I wanted all of Jimmy’s inventions as a kid, but I can’t say I ever wanted to be a cow.
Honestly, the most value Barnyard holds for me now is that it comes from that era of 3D animation I hold a fair bit of nostalgia for, where it was competent, but still ugly. Right next to films like Jimmy Neutron and Ice Age.
Lego Star Wars II! Clear off your calendars everyone, because I guarantee there’s nothing more important going on the day this game releases in the US. Nope, nothing. C’mon, you can make a sexy slave Yoda!
Well that sure was a Mother’s Day Edition of Nick Mag Highlights, was it not? Maybe I’ll think of a way to connect the holiday and Barnyard while I’m writing this outro*.
Thank you all for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day. Until next time, keep on reading.
*…Nope! Better luck next year.

Soonoqo: We Become Body in Waves of Light and Sound at Dunedin Fine Art Center is a multimedia exhibition of 18 artists from around the world who “share a common desire for healing, communal growth and interdependence with nature” curated by S. Toxosi.
S. Toxosi’s statement about the exhibition (from the gallery wall)-
I do not possess the language to truly describe the be-holdings within Soonoqo. As a term within the Somali language, it would be difficult to translate into contemporary English. It considers a pluralistic worldview that allows ‘becoming and returning’ to bear witness of itself, within oneself while conjoining through space and time. Soonoqo, basks in the universal soul. Its otherness is imbued as the ‘physical cosmos’ and all its avatars and manifestations.
To speak in metaphor or in a sense of ‘poetic meditation’, one would engulf whirling vortexes, volcanoes and maelstroms that end up in other universes from which bring new revelations or images, The senses are engaged as viewed in Bruno Ferreira Abdala’s video art When Mother Breathes. It is here we can see a pluralist’s sensibility where the cohorts of Soonoqo ‘become and return’ with offerings that contend with the mythical genesis through the acknowledgement and practices of ancestral wisdom, queering mores, spirituality and love. Thus creating fission through initiating and remembering. There is a subtlety of conjuration, ritual, humility, vulnerability in K. Tauches’s Q.A.L. video-making that unfolds and reveals the sentience of a Nature that provides true sustainability.
Soonoqo is a web of interconnected lights in continuous synchrony. It enables manifestations from varied domains of areas of perceptibility through human inner weavings of life experiences and becomes a variety of communicative prowess that encompasses video arts, film, photography, the written word and sonic compositions. These forms all ultimately resonate with and point toward healing where one/all is purified, catalyzed and cleansed through cooperation with nature, technology, shadow matter, dark matter and invisible matter. As can be seen in the film Womb not Tomb by Dea, where she investigates and yields to the teaching of the four elements or in Kiara Mohammed Amin’s Black Presence, a short film of talismanic energy and transformation.
Artists included in the exhibition- Brandy Eve Allen, Viveka Krumm, Harry Wilson Kapatika, Cara Judea Alhadeff, Sadie Sheldon, Chelsea Rowe, Micaela Amateau Amato, Saudade Toxosi, Jennifer Pyron, Amadia Shadow Rabbit, K.Tauches, Javier T. Dones, Bruno Ferreira Abdala, Sall Lam Toro, Kiara Mohamed Amin, Nayetesi, Dea
For more information on this exhibition check out @soono.qo and this conversation with S. Toxosi and DFAC Curators Catherine Bergmann and Nathan Beard which is very informative.

Conversations with Coco Krumme: On the false promise of optimization in the digital world.
Optimal Illusions: The False Promise of Optimization by Coco Krumme is a fascinating exploration into the complex interplay between human behavior, decision-making, and the algorithms that increasingly govern our lives. In her book, Krumme delves into the nuanced ways in which technology shapes our choices, often in ways we scarcely understand. Through a combination of rigorous research, engaging…

Monsters in media (1)
Monsters Inc.
youtube
Monsters Inc. is about a world of monsters, that relies on the screams of human children to power there world; it's there source for electricity. The movie follows the life of two best friends Sully and Mike who work for the energy company that requires them to scare children, as that's how they get their power. However, one little slip up leads to their lives being disrupted by the sudden appearance of a human girl named Boo. It's their job to find a way for her to go back home. I chose to look at this because it's a similar theme to what I'm going with, which is monsters in nightmares and I by looking at all the characters designs I could take away from them what I like and use them as possible ideas for character(s).
Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
youtube
This kids cartoon is about three monster friends by the names of Ickis, Krumm and Oblina who are studying on how to scare humans (similar to Monsters Inc.) at school. Through the series they come up with all sorts of plans, however they don't always work out as well as they plan them to be. I chose to look at this one because like monsters inc. a lot of the character/creatures have unique designs, which I could probably take inspiration from if I want to.

"An officer of the Revolution": The story of Mountjoy Bayly [Part 2]
Continued from part 1
Mountjoy, slavery, and land transactions in the 1790s
Drawing of a manumission in Vermont in 1777. The precarious nature of a manumission is symbolized by the fact that the freedom of the enslaved Black woman (right) can be declared by the right hand of a White slaveowner (pictured left). It is hard to know if this picture is celebrating the manumission or making the enslaved Black woman look helpless. Courtesy of Fineartamerica.com.
In 1790, the Bayly family still lived in Frederick, Maryland. While living there, with the honorary title of Major still attached to his name, he owned ten enslaved Blacks, and had fourteen other "free white persons," six of which were his family, including himself and his wife, but eight others are not known. [22] The same year, he further cemented his tie with the slave trade and southern slavery in the United States. He signed an agreement which sold a 17-year-old woman, named "Jenny," to him but also agreed to manumit her at age 31, in 1807, when she would be "free" from the chains of human bondage. [23] It is worth noting that manumission was not a progressive action but was part of the framework of slavery itself, part of the slave system, and hence it was nothing novel as some slave traders would easily disregard manumissions while "free" Black people could still face harsh discrimination.
Reprinted from my History Hermann WordPress blog.
In later years, Mountjoy would continue his buying and selling of land, with just about each transaction ok'd by his wife, possibly indicating they worked together on business decisions, which would make sense considering she was part of the large landowning Edelin family. He would sell land to Peter Mantz, William Campbell, both of whom were revolutionary war veterans, and Henry Elser. [24] He would also be involved in a lawsuit about purchasing Venus and Badgen Hole, within Frederick county, and be involved in agreements about land in Virginia. The land he would sell would include a "century-old tract of land," consisting of 120 acres, known for a long time as "Middle Plantation" which sits in the village of Mount Pleasant, with its "beautiful horse farms" as one website claims. He would also sell a part of a tract sitting on Flat Run called "Alexander's Prospect" which was originally surveyed in 1766, consisting of 310 acres, which he bought (at a time when the acreage of the lot had decreased) along with 255 acres of a tract called Douthet's Chance (originally 280 acres), and 68 acres of "The Resurvey on All Marys Mistake" tract. [25] When he bought this land it was from a man named "Alexander Hamilton" who was living in Prince George's County. There is no confirmation this is the same as the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States of the same name.
Mountjoy also made a number of land purchases. [26] He bought 184 acres of differing tracts, some within Emmitsburg, Frederick County, from John Payder of York County, Pennsylvania, whom he had sold certain lands before. Also, he was part of agreements between the Edelin and Bayly families, among others, over the division of the estate of his father--in-law, Christopher, and dividing up the estate of Charles M. Turner, a related party. [27] In later years, he would be a witness to the marriage of Susanna Ringer and Abraham Krumm (listed as "Mount Joy Bailey") and would be involved in a case against William Sprigg Bowie and John S. Brookes of Frederick County within the state's court system.
Mountjoy, the slave trade, Republicanism, and land deals
This is a map of leased properties in Monocacy Manor during the time of Christian Hufford (1716-1788). The land likely would have been different when Mountjoy was engaged in the buying and selling of land in this area, but this does give you the general idea. Courtesy of Find A Grave entry for Christian Hoffart.
By 1800, the Bayly family was still living in Frederick County, but this time specifically in the town of Liberty, likely referring to Libertytown, Maryland, a small town which is currently has only 950 people. While living there, the household consisted of 26 individuals, 14 who were enslaved Black laborers, twelve of whom were White, six of which included Mountjoy and and his family, the other six not currently known. [28] In later years, he would show that he was directly involved in proceedings about enslaved Blacks. In 1801, he would request that certificate of the sale of two enslaved Black women, Rachel and Nell to Lindsey Delashmutt, and two years later, in 1803, he would attend a proceeding determining if two enslaved Blacks were delivered to their appropriate "master" for said enslaved Blacks. [29]
In the early 1800s, other than watching French prisoners (still) in Frederick Town, he would seem to show his political affiliation. In 1803 he would write Thomas Jefferson, the sitting president a letter, about a "sulphur spring," noting that this letter was written from Georgetown, indicating that he had moved within the boundary of the District of Columbia. The following year, he would again write from Georgetown about a land dispute where he is living and the selling of sulpur, which could benefit the United States. To this letter, Jefferson replied and said that he agreed with Mountjoy. No other letters are known. However, this could indicate that the political affiliation of Mountjoy was Democratic-Republican, or Republican for short, since many of those in this category were farmers, slaveowners (like himself), and others, who wanted less government intrusion into their lives.
In this first decade of the 19th century, Mountjoy would sell and buy land like never before, which his wife, Elizabeth, continued to agree with. He would sell 154 acres to William Emmit, land which was part of Monocacy Manor to John Ringer, and sells three different tracts all consisting of more than 48 acres to a man named Patrick Reed. [30] Monocacy Manor, within Frederick County, included "26 dwellings with a stone base chimney" and sat on the Monocacy River, bordered by a dwelling known as Woods Mill Farm. In 1801, Mountjoy gave a man named Michael Dutro part of his estate and interest in a lot which consisted of Monococy Manor. [31]
The Dutro (also spelled Dutrow, Dotterer, Detro, Duderoe, Tuttero, Dudderar) family was owned hundreds of acres and an estate/farm in within the county, since it was an "old Frederick County family" as one writer put it. [32] As for Michael, he was described as a Federalist in 1796, living in the same county as another officer of the Maryland Extra Regiment, Samuel Cock who is described on the next page as a Democratic-Republican or Republican for short. Michael may have been born in Franklin Township, Pennsylvania. He was living in Westminster, Maryland, with three other family members, one of whom is his wife, and likely his two children. [33] This means that Mountjoy was selling his land to a relative local but also a person likely of the same social class as him.
There are some strange land purchases by Mountjoy which are not all together clear. I'm not talking about the exchange of lands between Jacob Jumper (gained 25 acres) and Mountjoy (gained 35 acres) in 1803. [34] Rather, I'm referring to the selling of his estate, right, and title to John Cockey, Jr. (likely related to this person) of Baltimore County in 1801 and the buying of John Ringer's Estate, Title, and interest to (and part of) a lot which consists Monococy Manor, only six days later. These purchases indicate the move-ability of the Bayly family, but could also mean it is moving to a new jurisdiction. [35]

*pulls out long list* ahem…
Prism’s ever-so-growing list of A!RM headcanons!
(I have sorted the headcanons by character)
Who knows? This list may reveal some lore of my novelized fan-revival!
(Also, some of this stuff is part of the revival’s revised-and-modernized-timeline)
General
“Teenage” monsters range from the ages of 80 to 100 (preteens go from 70 to 80)
Once a monster reaches the age of 100, they are declared an adult
To calculate a monster’s age if they were human, divide their age by 5.5!
Ickis
Ickis is transfem nonbinary, and uses they/them pronouns
Ickis has two fathers, Slickis (Dad), and Horikku (Pop), the former’s ethnicity is Bahamian, while the latter’s is Mexican. This makes Ickis Afro-Latina
Ickis is autistic, and was diagnosed during the 90’s, or when they were in their preteen stages
Ickis can speak some Spanish (thanks to their parents), although it sounds a bit broken
Oblina
Oblina is lesbian
Oblina was born in New Orleans, and only moved to NYC after Hurricane Katrina destroyed her old home
Oblina’s home in NYC originally belonged to her Nana Corrika, who had passed away prior to the beginning of the series
Krumm
Krumm has social anxiety, and only functions well around people he knows and trusts
Krumm likes to keep ideas of his own fantasy world in a sketchbook
Despite claiming he’s asexual, Krumm really wants to find someone to love
The Gromble
The Gromble is a closeted homosexual
The Gromble is secretly autistic, his special interest(s) being shoes and fashion
The Gromble was born near London during the late seventeenth century, and later moved to America due to a teacher shortage in NYC during the civil war
Relating to the above headcanon, The Gromble initially went to college to become a psychologist
Other Academy Students
Dizzle secretly likes 60’s and 70’s human music
Ocka is MTF transgender
Simon
Simon used to live with their parents until they kicked him out of their home after “going crazy over monster hunting”
Do you have any A!RM headcanons?

Pedosexuality"? Germany WTF?
By Genevieve Gluck September 25, 2024
Germany’s parliament will be reviewing proposed amendments submitted by a pro-pedophile group tomorrow, sparking concerns from child safeguarding advocates. Krumme-13, a lobby group which advocates for lowering the age of consent and legalizing child pornography, is seeking to add language to the constitution which would establish “pedosexuality” as a protected sexual identity.
Dieter Gieseking, the founder of Krumme-13, announced the upcoming vote to his supporters in a post made to the group’s website last week.
Translated from the original German.
The post highlights the fact that Krumme-13 intends to continue to pressure the government to normalize pedophilia via the Bundestag’s petition process, a strategy that the pedophile activists have undertaken for several years.
“We are already announcing further petitions on topic-relevant areas. The topic of pedophilia / pedosexuality must constantly be in the political debate. The human rights of this sexual minority are becoming ever more restricted. The political fight for acceptance and recognition will never end. The new generation of pedophile-loving people is just growing up,” he wrote.
Krumme-13 appears to have been emboldened by the success of a previous petition drafted by Gieseking on “children’s rights.”
Last October, the Bundestag accepted an amendment written by the pro-pedophile advocate which would alter Article 6, Paragraph 2 of the Basic Law to state that “the child’s well-being is paramount”.
Correspondences from the German government to pro-pedophile advocate Dieter Gieseking, informing him that his petition calling for “pedosexuality” to be a protected identity would be reviewed by the Petitions Committee.
However, further elaboration holds that children ought to be treated as “legal subjects” and have a right to have “a say in all matters concerning their spiritual, mental and physical well-being, as well as the right to freely develop their personality.”
Gieseking made certain to point out to his followers on his website that the intended implication of the phrase is to create a legal framework for establishing sexuality as a children’s right. The phrase “sexual self-determination” is included in Article 2 of the Basic Law under the conditions of the “free development of personality.”
“Sexual self-determination (also for children) is derived from the free development of the personality in Article 2,” Gieseking wrote in 2021. As a reference, the petition as well as the German Bundestag both cite the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Krumme-13 petition was was supported by representatives of the Socialist Democrats, Free Democratic Party, and Green Party.
In April of this year, Gieseking shared the news that his petition to include the “sexual identity of pedophiles” as a protected characteristic under the constitution had been approved for discussion by the Petitions Committee.
“The petition service of the German Bundestag announced that the petition ‘Sexual Identity in the Basic Law’, which also includes the sexual identity of pedophiles, will be discussed as an individual petition within the committee. There will therefore be a separate recommendation for a resolution. The Petitions Committee has thus complied with the petitioner’s request.”
Translated from the original German.
“In addition to all of the proposed children’s rights, sexual self-determination must also be protected and included in the Basic Law,” reads a K13online blog post about the petition dated July 2022.
Gieseking has repeatedly claimed that his campaigns to have pedophilia protected as a sexual identity are not equivalent to legalizing child sexual abuse. The activists of K13online have been demanding that the “pedophile [sexual] identity” be “protected from discrimination, criminalization, exclusion and persecution” under Germany’s equality laws.
“Pedophilia must also be included in sexual identity. Pedophiles in particular must be fundamentally protected from discrimination in the Basic Law. And this is completely independent of sexual criminal law. The vast majority of the estimated 250,000 pedophiles do not commit any of these types of crimes. Pedophilia is a separate sexual identity.”
Again, in April, the pedophile advocate stated that the “pedophile identity in the GG (Basic Law) is not about the legalization of consensual sexuality between children and adults,” thereby reiterating his belief that children can consent to sexual activity. “It’s about protecting the pedophile identity from discrimination and thus the recognition and acceptance of pedophiles as a sexual minority.”
Translated from the original German.
Yet his claims contradict other actions and positions advocated for by Krumme-13. In another petition he sent to the government, Gieseking called for the decriminalization of the possession and distribution of child pornography.
“Legalizing clearly self-determined sexuality between older people and those under 14 is the best protection against actual sexual violence against children,” Gieseking wrote, while calling for the abolition of Sections 176 [Sexual Abuse of Children] and 188 [Dissemination, Acquisition and Possession of Child Pornographic Content] of the legal code.
Gieseking advocates for a distinction to be made between “sexual consent” and “sexual violence” when it comes to sexual acts between adults and children. As it is his belief that children can consent to sex with adults, he promotes the view that only the latter should be criminalized.
Gieseking, a 68-year-old former Federal Border Guard official, founded K13 in Trier in 1993 and promoted the group as a “self-help” organization for “pedosexuals.” He has been repeatedly charged with the possession of child pornography.
In 1996, Gieseking was sentenced to eighteen months, for which he served one year in prison, on charges related to operating a mail order child pornography service from a van. In 2003, Gieseking again appeared in court accused of possession of child sexual abuse materials obtained between July 1999 and January 2001. The pornography was found on Gieseking’s computer after a search of his residence in August 2001. His devices contained a total of 216 image files of naked children, and he was sentenced to eight months in prison.
Pro-pedophile advocate Dieter Gieseking
At the time, Gieseking was also accused of linking to a child pornography page on his website. This link was discovered by jugendschutz.net, an organization set up by the federal government to protect minors online.
In a 2014 interview with Taz Online, Gieseking called for lowering the age of consent to 12 years of age, and said that adult sexual interactions with toddlers would have to be “discussed separately.”
“The taboo of pedophilia must finally be broken at all levels of society. If a pedophile can come out without fear of exclusion or even demonization, then this is the best prevention against child abuse,” Gieseking told the outlet.
In accordance with his views on children’s ability to consent, Gieseking has publicly endorsed Germany’s new gender self-identification law, which takes effect November 1 and allows parents to change the sex marker on their children’s documents from birth. From the age of five years old, it allows for name and sex changes if there is “mutual consent” between the child and their parents.
“Why is gender identity also politically important for pedophiles/pedosophists?” Gieseking wrote in a post to K13online. “Gender and sexual identity does not only begin on the 14th birthday, when the so-called protection age limit ends. Children can and want to experience their childhood sexuality self-determined beforehand.”

Au part 3. After talking with Zimbo,Ickis walk outside the Monster Academy.
Ickis: at least outside i can use my bat wings.
Ickis flew off from the city dump.
As Ickis exits the Monster academy and spreads his bat wings, a sense of freedom and excitement washes over him. He takes to the air, feeling the cool breeze against his face as he soars above the academy grounds.
With a mix of determination and curiosity, he prepares to embark on his first flight outside the academy, ready to explore the open skies and test his newfound abilities.
While with Krumm and Oblina...
Oblina and Krumm are sitting alone in their room, waiting for Ickis to return from his flight. They chat casually, discussing their day and speculating about Ickis's wings.
Oblina: So, you think Icky is enjoying his first solo flight?
Krumm: maybe, since he grow his bat wings recently
Oblina nods.
Oblina: Yeah, it must be exciting for him. Growing wings out of nowhere is a pretty big deal. Plus, he gets to fly around now. That's pretty cool, if you ask me.
Krumm: i heard Ickis and you are dating
Oblina is caught off guard by Krumm's unexpected comment. She feels her cheeks warm slightly, but she regains her composure and responds with a coy smile.
Oblina: Oh, really now? Where did you hear that from?
Krumm: from Kriggle
Oblina lets out a small sigh, rolling her eyes slightly.
Oblina: Figures. Kriggle has a habit of spreading rumors and gossip. But... is it really that obvious that we're dating?
Krumm: ha,i knew it you and Ickis you had feelings for each other monster lovers
Oblina, unable to hide her smile, lets out a small chuckle.
Oblina: Seems like you've figured us out. Yeah, Ickis and I have been seeing each other. I didn't think it was that obvious, but I guess Kriggle had to spill the beans.
Krumm: i m going to be out to scare humans in a short minutes.....
Are you coming or are you waiting Ickis 😏
Oblina hesitates for a moment, torn between going to scare humans and waiting for Ickis's return from his flight. She glances towards the window, anticipating his return but also feeling the urge to go out and scare some humans.
She turns back to Krumm with a mischievous smile.
Oblina: You know what? I can wait for Ickis a bit longer. Let's go scare some humans together.
Krumm: alright lets go
Oblina: Sounds like a plan to me. Let's make tonight a night the humans will never forget!
While Ickis was flying and just scare three humans off.....
Ickis: i m now terrified those stupid humans are not mistaking me with a Rabbit....
Ickis flew off.....
On other place a monster hunter was keeping an eye on ickis his name is Gregor
Gregor, the monster hunter known only as The Gregor, quietly observes Ickis from a distance. His eyes narrow as he watches Icki's unusual appearance and behavior.
The monster hunter smirks, sensing that Ickis might be a rare find. He silently follows Ickis while staying concealed.
Ickis was still flying.... not aware of the danger behind him....
Ickis: did i heard something
Ickis's ears perk up as he senses a noise behind him. He looks back but doesn't see anything initially.
Meanwhile, The Gregor is stealthily trailing behind Ickis, blending into the shadows and staying just out of sight. He cautiously moves closer, planning his next move.
Krumm: OBLINA HIDE MONSTER HUNTER...
Oblina freezes as she hears Krumm's urgent whisper. She quickly hides herself behind a large rock, trying to remain unnoticed.
Oblina (whispering back): Monster hunter? Where?
Krumm: points Gregor with one of his arms holding his two eyeballs with the other
Oblina follows Krumm's gesture and spots Gregor, the ominous monster hunter, in the distance. Her heart skips a beat as she realizes the danger they're in.
Oblina (whispering): Oh, no... You're right, I see him. We have to stay hidden until he's gone.
Gregor shoot Ickis on his back two times....
Ickis:damn this hurts....
Notice Gregor and escape flying away from him......
Gregor lost the trait and returns his home
Ickis: phew, this almost cost my.....my.....life..... faints....
Ickis was bad wounded by the monster hunter gunshoots
Meanwhile, Oblina and Krumm watch in horror as Ickis is shot down by Gregor. They witness Ickis managing to get away but also see him fainting due to the gunshot wounds.
Oblina (panicking): Ickis! No, no, no...!
Ickis stare at her but with blurry vision only seeing a cane snake monster runing towards him..
Ickis close his eyes
Oblina and Krumm race over to where Ickis has fallen. Oblina's heart sinks as she sees her injured companion struggling to keep his eyes open.
Oblina (frantically): Ickis, stay with us, please! Don't close your eyes!
Ickis: what are you both doing here
Oblina, tears welling in her eyes, kneels beside Ickis. She gently takes hold of his hand.
Oblina (voice trembling): We were scared out of our skulls when we saw you get shot down. We followed you to see what happened, and then we saw you get hurt...
Ickis: you always call me reckless
Oblina nods, her expression a mixture of worry and frustration.
Oblina: Yeah, you're definitely reckless. You rush into things without thinking. That's how you ended up getting shot down by that hunter.
Ickis: thats why i love you
Despite the dire situation, Oblina can't help but feel a slight fluttering in her heart. She gently strokes Ickis's cheek.
Oblina: You're such a goofball. But... I love you too. Even if you're a reckless idiot sometimes.
Krumm: we should take ickis inside the academy to be checked by a doctor of the academy...
Ickis: ok, since that dude had been made checkups on me since i got combustion spontaneous previously
Oblina nods in agreement.
Oblina: Yes, you're right, Krumm. We need to get Ickis inside the academy and have him seen by a doctor as soon as possible.
She gently places her arm around Ickis's shoulders, trying to help him up.
Ickis stand up and walk slowly
Oblina and Krumm flank Ickis, supporting him as he walks slowly back to the academy, their concern growing with each step.
Oblina: Just a little further, Ickis. We're almost there. Hang in there.
Ickis: i know, honey, do not worry....
Oblina give him a serious stare and corcern
Oblina can't help but shoot Ickis a stern, concerned look, even as she continues walking with him.
Oblina (slightly annoyed): Don't "honey" me right now, mister. You're the one who got yourself shot and injured. You scared the heck out of us!
Ickis: you dont need to be worried.....
Oblina was about wrapp him inside her coils but she was trying to be calm.
Oblina huffs but restrains herself from wrapping Ickis in her coils, resisting the urge to be overly protective.
Oblina (with a hint of frustration): I can't help but worry, Ickis. You got shot by a monster hunter, and you're telling me not to worry?!
Ickis: ....
Oblina sighs in resignation, knowing that trying to argue with Ickis when he's injured like this is futile.
Oblina: Okay, we'll focus on getting you to the academy first. But as soon as you're patched up, you're facing a major lecture from me.
Ickis: i wan t to hear how your lecture to me boss monster girl.
😈
Oblina rolls her eyes at Ickis's cheeky response, but there's a hint of amusement in her expression.
Oblina: Oh, you bet your butt I'll give you a proper lecture, mister. You're not escaping the wrath of the boss monster girl this time.
Krumm: we are almost there
Oblina nods at Krumm's words, continuing to support Ickis as they make their way closer to the academy. Her mind is now filled with a mix of relief and determination.
Oblina: We're almost there, Ickis. Hang in there. Once we get you to the academy, the doctor will take care of you.
Ickis: ok
Oblina and Krumm continue to guide Ickis as they approach the entrance of the academy. They are now close enough to see the building looming ahead.
Oblina: Just a few more steps, Ickis. We're almost inside.
Ickis nodded
With their support, Ickis takes a few more steps and finally crosses the threshold into the academy. They continue moving forward, heading towards the infirmary where they hope a doctor can attend to Ickis's injuries.
They arrive the academy nursery
As they enter the academy nursery, Oblina and Krumm look around, the sterile environment a stark contrast to the outside world.
Oblina (to Ickis): We're here, Ickis. We'll have the doctor take a look at your injuries now.
Ickis: ok....
Oblina and Krumm help
Ickis to lie down on one of the beds in the nursery. They wait anxiously for the doctor to arrive, hoping that Ickis’s wounds can be tended to quickly and effectively.
The monster doctor enter...
The monster doctor enters the room, his eyes immediately turning to Ickis with concern. He approaches the bed where Ickis is resting and begins examining his injuries, checking the extent of the gunshot wounds.
The doctor (seriously): Hm, you've been through quite the ordeal, haven't you? Let me take a look at these injuries.
Ickis: sure
The monster doctor begins to tend to Ickis's gunshot wounds, his skilled hands working carefully and efficiently. He uses medical supplies and his knowledge to clean and bandage the injuries, making sure to minimize any pain and discomfort for Ickis.
The doctor works diligently, his face focused and serious as he tends to the wounded monster.
Ickis: did you treart emergencies like this, or is the first one
The monster doctor continues working on Ickis, his focus on tending to the wounds. He responds without looking away from his work.
The doctor: Oh, I've dealt with all sorts of emergencies in my years. Gunshot wounds, creature attacks, accidents... it comes with the job of being a monster doctor. Although I must admit, seeing a young monster like you in such a situation always tugs at the heartstrings.
Ickis nodded....
Ickis: what i should say to the Gromble the next day in class
The monster doctor nods, a slight smile on his face as he continues to work on Ickis's injuries. He seems to understand the nature of the Gromble's character.
The doctor: Indeed, the Gromble has a tough exterior, but he has a heart for his students. Just be prepared for some stern words and make sure to show that you've learned from this experience.
Ickis: i know that.... perfectly
Ickis: i know.......
The monster doctor finishes bandaging Ickis's wounds, making sure everything is secure and clean.
The doctor: That should do it. Just rest and take it easy for a while. Your body needs time to heal and recover from the shock it's been through.
Ickis: Oblina,Krumm how the Gromble is going to take this news
Oblina and Krumm exchange glances, a mixture of worry and anticipation in their expressions. They know the Gromble's strict demeanor and how he handles situations like this.
Oblina (with a sigh): The question is, how ISN'T the Gromble going to react? He'll have a fit when he finds out about what happened to Ickis.
The monster bell rings and it was class time
The monster bell rings throughout the academy, signaling the start of class. Oblina and Krumm help Ickis to his feet, supporting him as best as they can.
Oblina (concerned): Are you sure you're good to go to class, Ickis? You should rest, you know.
Ickis: the Gromble need to be informed....
If he yells at me or everyone in class
Oblina nods, understanding Ickis's perspective.
Oblina: Yeah, the Gromble definitely needs to know about this, but... he doesn't like it when we're tardy.
Krumm (agreeing): Oblina's right. The Gromble can get pretty grumpy when we're late for class.
The three monsters enter class
As they enter the class, the room is bustling with fellow monsters students talking and taking their seats. The usual chatter and commotion of a class in session fills the room.
Looking around, they spot the Gromble standing at the front of the classroom, already waiting for his students to settle down. His stern expression suggests he's in a particularly strict mood today.
The Gromble start to talk
The Gromble clears his throat, getting the class' attention. His eyes scan over the students before he begins speaking.
The Gromble: Silence, everyone. Pay attention. Class is now in session.
The room becomes quiet as the monsters in the class turn their focus to their stern instructor.
Ickis try to pay atention in class
Ickis:( this wounds hurts) on his mind
Ickis sits in class, struggling to focus on the lesson. The pain from his wounds makes it difficult for him to concentrate, but he tries his best to pay attention.
The Gromble continues lecturing the class, his voice stern and serious. Oblina and Krumm keep glancing over at Ickis with concerned expressions, noticing how uncomfortable he seems.
Ickis: is nothing sir, only i had gunshoots by a monster hunter
The Gromble gives Ickis a sharp look, his eyes narrowing as the young monster speaks up.
The Gromble (sternly): You had a WHAT? A gunshoot, by a hunter? And you're in class instead of resting?
Ickis: i though informing you first was better, than seeing you with anger
The Gromble considers this for a moment, his stern expression softening slightly. He nods, acknowledging Ickis's decision to inform him first.
The Gromble (with a sigh): You're right, Ickis. I appreciate you telling me directly. But what in the world were you thinking, getting involved with a monster hunter?
Ickis: i just scare three humans with success and that monster hunter shoot me from behind
The Gromble (frowning): So you successfully scared humans, and then a monster hunter ambushed you? That's a risky move, Ickis. Scaring humans is already dangerous enough, but being shot at is another level of trouble.
Ickis: yes but this monster hunter is dangerous his name is Gregor more dangerous than simon
The Gromble's expression darkens at the mention of Gregor's name. It's clear he's heard of this particular hunter before.
The Gromble (serious): You encountered Gregor, did you? Ickis, you should have been more prepared. Gregor isn't a normal hunter. He's ruthless and cunning, a real menace to us monsters.
Ickis: i know sir, but i will more aware of the danger of that hunter
The Gromble nods, appreciating Ickis's determination.
The Gromble (firmly): Being aware of the danger is crucial, Ickis. But you also need to be more cautious. Don't throw yourself into situations blindly. Think first, then act. We don't want you getting hurt again.
Ickis: yes sir
The Gromble (nodding): Good. Now, focus on the lesson. And next time, if you get into a situation like that again, come straight to me first. Understand?
Ickis:nodded...
As he faints..
Ickis: i m ok, i m still weak because of the gunshoots
As Ickis starts to sway and then faint, Oblina and Krumm immediately react, moving to help support him.
Oblina (concerned): Ickis! Are you okay?
Krumm (worried): You look terrible. You're still too weak from the gunshot wounds.
Ickis: i guess i need days of rest.....
I know i will lose lessons, but my health is inportant
Everyone be careful and if you all want end like me...
Walks towards to the room he share with Oblina and Krumm
Oblina: You're right, Ickis. Health comes first. We want you to get better, even if it means missing some classes.
Oblina and Krumm follow closely as Ickis makes his way to the room they share. They're still worried about his condition but they understand that he needs rest.

»Augen her, Augen her!« rief Coppelius mit dumpfer dröhnender Stimme."
Der Sandmann - E.T.A. Hoffmann
(transl. under the cut)
"Full of curiosity to hear more of this Sandman, and his particular connection with children, I at last asked the old woman who tended my youngest sister what sort of man he was. “Eh, Natty,” said she, “do you not know that yet? He is a wicked man, who comes to children when they will not go to bed, and throws a handful of sand into their eyes, so that they start out bleeding from their heads. These eyes he puts in a bag and carries them to the half-moon to feed his own children, who sit in the nest up yonder, and have crooked beaks like owls with which they may pick up the eyes of the naughty human children.”
"It seemed to me, as if I saw human faces around without any eyes–but with deep holes instead. “Eyes here, eyes!” said Coppelius in a dull roaring voice."

The mechanical laws of nature govern the present psychological state of humanity―for both good and ill. By transcending the forces of nature and their subsequent influence on the mind, the initiate enters the higher mysteries: states of unconditioned, blissful consciousness free from the limitations of matter.
Discover how mother nature functions through the law of evolution: birth, progress, development, and growth; and the law of devolution: death, regression, destruction, and decay. Our full, conscious potential is only developed by revolutionizing ourselves against lunar (mechanical) influences, suffering, and our animal inheritance. By comprehending and annihilating the lunar ego, the soul or essence awakens to its solar (divine) nature and solves the mystery of the sphinx, the fundamental question of our gnostic studies: "How do I become a true human being made into the image of God?"
This lecture discusses the esoteric significance of Friedrich Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Sophocles' Oedipus Rex, Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana," and the writings of Dr. Arnold Krumm-Heller (Master Huiracocha) and Samael Aun Weor. Learn also about the tenth Hebrew letter, י Iod, and its kabbalistic relationship to the Biblical and Quranic story of Joseph, a symbol of the mysteries of יסוד Yesod.

Epiphany is the manifestation, or the revelation, or the ascension of the Christ within us. According to Krumm-Heller, Dietrich the great theologian stated, “To attain that which one is yearning for, that is the religare or union with divinity; it must be attained through these four ways:
To receive God (the eucharist)
Amorous union (Sexual Magic)
Filial love (to feel that one is a child of God)
Death and resurrection
