Rumor on the Huli Jing discord is that foxes are disappearing. When Liu Sang and Wei Ying are kidnapped and join the other taken hulis can they rescue themselves?

Kitsunegeddon 2023 is a-go!

The poll remained open a little longer than intended, but I am happy to say there's enough people interested in participating, so the show will go on!

Thank you all so much for your interest!

Out of all 23 replies, 87% of you were interested in creating something for the event, and I suppose it is the same 87% that requested there be additional prompts for the event!

There will be a poll at the end of May for you to pick your favorite prompts and to suggest any you thought were missing.

The prompts will be OPTIONAL, they're just there as additional inspiration for those who need it.

As always, this one-day event occurs during the autumnal equinox, and this year it'll be on the 22nd of September!

And if this isn't enough fox content for you, then worry not, on the 29th of September we now have @hulijingeddon ! A brand new event to celebrate fox and fox spirits in Chinese media!

(Who knows maybe one day we will have an entire week dedicated to fox spirits in different cultures...)

Announcing Hulijingeddon 2024

Good morning, afternoon, evening, and night!

It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the second ever hulijingeddon event!

For those unfamiliar with the event, it is a celebration of foxes and fox-like spiritual beings in fandom! You create fanworks that have foxes or huli jing in them. They can either already be a fox or huli jing, or they can be made into one through an AU.

The event will take place on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is Tuesday, September 17th this year. You can post any time around that and I will be on the lookout!

Announcing Hulijingeddon

Good morning, afternoon, evening, and night!

It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the first ever hulijingeddon event!

For those familiar with @kitsunegeddon and their event, this will be a familiar sight. For those not, it is a celebration of foxes and fox-like spiritual beings in fandom! You make fanworks that have foxes or huli jing in them. They can either already be a fox or huli jing, or they can be made into one through an AU.

As kitsunegeddon is, to my knowledge, for kitsune only - and so for stories taking place in Japan or with Japanese characters - I thought it would be good to make an event for stories that take place in China or with Chinese characters.

This is the first announcement for the event, and the event itself will take place on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is Friday, September 29th this year.

If you're unsure about anything, please feel free to send me asks.

My goodness, we’re a month away now! I hope people have been having fun creating their works for hulijingeddon. I know I have! I have way too many ideas crying for my attention and I’ve been working desperately to write them all.

With the event coming soon I will create a collection on AO3 and post the link to it to this tumblr so that anyone may find it. Please don’t be shy and feel free to add your works to it!

On the day of and for a month afterwards I’ll be looking through tumblr for anything tagged as #hulijingeddon2023 to reblog. You can also feel free to @ me of course.

I hope everyone is having a good summer! I've still got work, but it's nice see the sun and feel the wind and hope for rain.

Just a little check and reminder - we still exist! I hope people are creating whatever pieces they would like to post and submit for hulijingeddon - the time is approaching distressingly fast.

There was no real plan for prompts, of course, but if you want something as inspiration, I'd say take it from this being the first hulijingeddon. Beginnings, birth, creation, first times, celebration - anything like that.
