PM Modi Inaugurates 26th National Youth Festival in Hubbali, Karnataka

Hubbali: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the 26th National Youth Festival at Hubbali in Karnataka on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

The Prime Minister was given a warm welcome on his arrival in the city. He roadshowed people on the streets, shook their hands, and showered flowers on his cavalcade.

ugh this is such a big regret for me

basically since i grew up in the uk, my english (non-native second language, etc etc) is better than my (native, first language) kannada which is super disappointing to me as someone who loves india and indian culture, and as someone who sometimes wishes that my parents just stayed in india and i wouldn't have such a conflicting identity

but anyway, some basic (hubbali/dharwad?) phrases for you (fyi i cant spell in kannada):

neevu heggidiri - how are you? (formal)

heggidiya kanno - equivalent of hey bro, whats up

naayi - dog, so essentially a common insult

kothi - monkey, another insult, etc etc

uru ____ - add an animal insult to the end (usually naayi) to get a quick, simple insult!

...and here you go! the average kannadiga's starter pack to navigating kannada. from here, combine insults to seamlessly transition from beginner to foul-mouthed, savage vellhigh-boss!

Two NSS (GOI) student volunteers Pooja and Hitesh Kumar (Computer Science Engineering) from Dronacharya College Of Engineering, Gurgaon along with NSS (GOI) Program Officer Mr. Darshan Seju attended a FIVE-day Adventure Camp organized and sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of India, NSS (GOI) Regional Centre New Delhi.

The camp was held from 12th to 16th January 2023, at HUBBALI-DHARWAD (KARNATAKA). The National Service Scheme (NSS) (GOI) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.The objective of this camp was to infuse the sense of love towards the various regions of India and to undertake adventurous activities.

Le garçon portait une guirlande et essayait apparemment de féliciter le Premier ministre, qui montait sur le marchepied d'un SUV et saluait les foules en liesse. Alors que les hommes du SPG l'ont immédiatement bloqué, on a vu le Premier ministre tendre la main pour accepter la guirlande. Les agents de sécurité qui l'accompagnaient se sont emparés de la guirlande et l'ont remise au Premier ministre qui l'a mise à l'intérieur de la voiture. On ne sait pas encore comment le garçon, qui semblait avoir environ 15 ans, a réussi à s'approcher si près du Premier ministre dans une zone qui devrait être complètement assainie. Alors que des centaines de supporters criant des slogans bordaient la route depuis l'aéroport, ils étaient bien derrière les barricades. Le Premier ministre, qui doit ouvrir ce soir le 29e Festival national de la jeunesse, organisait un roadshow de l'aéroport au Railway Sports Ground, où se déroulera la cérémonie. Le Premier ministre a une sécurité à cinq couches, dont la couche la plus externe est sous la responsabilité de la police d'État. La sécurité du Premier ministre Modi a été violée l'année dernière lors de sa visite au Pendjab. Alors qu'il se rendait à Ferozepur pour un rassemblement électoral le 5 janvier, la cavalcade du Premier ministre a été arrêtée pendant 20 minutes sur un survol à la vue des caméras de télévision en raison d'un blocage par des agriculteurs protestataires. Un comité enquêtant sur la violation de la sécurité a constaté des manquements de la part de la police du Pendjab, a déclaré la Cour suprême. Le comité de cinq membres, dirigé par l'ancien juge de la Cour suprême, le juge Indu Malhotra, a ensuite suggéré des mesures correctives pour renforcer la sécurité du Premier ministre. Le tribunal de grande instance, qui avait formé le comité chargé de déterminer s'il y avait un complot criminel dans l'atteinte à la sécurité, avait déclaré que le rapport serait envoyé au Centre "afin que les mesures nécessaires puissent être prises".
