#kerytalk#fish nonsense#sighhhhhh#like I knew this was a risk going in#betta have gotten about as shitty as goldfish in terms of genetics in the past decade#and its for these reasons I want to breed them#to essentially undo as much of that crap as possible#by just NOT INBREEDING#ffs#unlike goldfish however the wild betta in all its subspecies is extremely vulnerable to climate change and extinction#once they go all we have left is shitty inbred domesticated bettas#who might live only two years#no one is gonna want that#congratulations you doomed an entire fish species including the domesticated variety#huahhghh makes me so mad#this has been a tag rant
