How To Train Your Ghost Rider

This was my first non-One Shot in the AOS Fandom as well as the QuakeRider one so I was pretty nervous. Most of what I write is Anime, and Yaoi/Shounen-Ai/Slash at that so while AOS is not exactly as out there as some Anime it is made with Western mindsets not Eastern. All that aside I had a few goals with the fic.

1. Get the charters down, a bit OC/AU but still recognizable and not complete OOCs.

2. Show how Robbie and the Team regard each other now vs first impressions.

3. QuakeRider

4. Team-building/bonding

5. Don't piss off the Fandom.

Now 1 got easier after watching season 4, when I learned all those clips and MVs I had been watching that made me finally binge this show were in context like 99% of the time. Some of the cheeky talking in meeting number 2 is used in a legit playful manner, which fits with their relationship by the end so it's cool. Reading some reviews is the easiest way to see how you are doing with this. I have yet to get a review challenging my voice so I am content I have them down by now.

2 was also pretty easy and bits and pieces are scatter throughout the 5 chapters. On the show we see Team Coulson and Robbie slowly form and understanding and he worked just fine with them by the end. Other fics of mine focus on this more or less but many have some passing comment even if it is just Daisy.

3 is a main focus of the 17 AOS fics I have posted on AO3 and FFN so far. Battle Friends, partners, banter buddies, love interest, the whole range. In this one ii is mainly friends to lovers route, no sex scenes though.

4 made it into my Christmas prompt inspired collection of One Shots and is a weakness of mine. The Team is a family and Robbie is the new dmamges foster kid not sure if he blongs, they want you Robbie stay!

5 well I have gotten no negative reviews so counting it as a win.

Now you can read the entire fic on AO3 or FFN, as well as chapter 1 of the sequel and over a dozen other QuakeRider fics I personally have done. Please enjoy this little 'clip' from chapter 1 before making up your mind about whether you will give it a read or not.  Robbie sighed softly, a hand resting lightly against his chest confused him but Daisy's voice was clear. Tilting his head at her he turned his gaze to her hand stuck inside his jacket before looking up at her, "Worried my heart stopped?"

Daisy pulled her hand free looking away, knowing her cheeks were at least a little pink and he knew it. "Oh please you don't always even have a heart to stop." Joking about the Rider she glanced at him to see if she had hit a nerve, God she had to learn to curb her tongue now and then.

Robbie pushed himself up on his elbows, not really motivated to get up entirely, "Good one E.T. light."

Daisy rolled her eyes but gave him a bit of a grin at that, if she could tease him about his literal demon then he could tease her about her alien DNA, fair was fair. "I wouldn't call YoYo that."

"Elena has Mack to annoy in his sleep she has no need of me," Robbie reminded the mouthy young woman as he sat up. Reaching up he finished unzipping his jacket to fully reveal a faded hunter green shirt.

Daisy watched an ungloved hand as it moved to unzip the infamous jacket, the faded green a nice contrast to his skin tone. It seemed fitting he was back from Hell and wearing green, back among the living and all that went with it. "Oh like she wouldn't."

"I'd wake up to her wearing my jacket if she was that curious about it, Elena is about as scared of me as you are." Robbie knew he weirded a few of them out still, not surprising when he was walking proof Hell existed. However they might feel about the Rider they were mostly comfortable with having just him around. It seemed being Daisy's pet project earned him a trial spot on the team, one some of them wanted to be more permanent.

"Well it isn't stealing if you are just borrowing it," Daisy agreed tapping a fingertip off her chin a few times. "I think it would look cute on her." Elena had become one them easily once she stopped thinking of S.H.I.E.L.D as shady government bad and more MIB good. It did not surprise her the two snarky Latinos got along, and since everyone knew it was strictly friendly there was no jealousy to worry about.

"Se veria aun mas lindo en usted," Robbie said with a hint of his smug smirk, his jacket may look cute on Elena but it would look better on Daisy, at least he thought so.

Daisy frowned at the Spanish, it sounded like a compliment to her, and that smirk was his teasing one she rather liked. "You better be able to repeat that in church Mr. Reyes." When Robbie blinked before actually laughing she blinked startled for a moment before joining him as she sat down on the bed. She had only really heard him laugh once, a few soft chuckles were not the same. May was like that, all smirks but few laughs.

"No eres espia, aprender espanol," Robbie snarked back as he checked to make sure his gloves were still in his jacket pockets.

"Or," Daisy started as she leaned close, arms folded, "here's a thought, you could just speak English while basking in my glory?"

Robbie snorted looking up, shaking his head at the mock preening, "You truly are something else girl."

"Thanks I like me too," Daisy grinned, it felt so good to banter with someone again. Robbie knew her demons better then anyone else, his had seen hers with Its own eyes. The idea of a demon judging her and leaving her not only alive but willing to work with her was faltering really. Angels were all about redeeming and saving souls while demons were all about corrupting and claiming, though the Rider was all about claiming the already past saving. It made her wonder what It would think of Ward, no doubt with Robbie's influence It would ash her former crush.

Robbie rolled his eyes at the false ego, thought she didn't hate herself anymore at lest and he was grateful for that, "I wasn't gone that long this time, did I miss some sort of head trauma?"

"Ha ha, very funny," Daisy drawled as she reached out lightly rapping his chest with her knuckles, his shirt was very soft. "I'm surprised you didn't portal jump right home and crash on your couch or something."

Robbie Reyes : Comics to AOS Part I

I have done two post on the basic appearances and powers of the MCU Ghost Riders, with a few fic ideas and head cannons thrown in. Both have gone over well with some added information in the notes section for everyone to enjoy. My purpose of having an easy guide to reference for my own work while allowing others to do the same is working out nicely. Now the comic version of Robbie I have a passing knowledge of so no doubt the notes section will have some helpful info after this one. Mostly this will be an amateur guide to how the look and feel of the comics was reworked for AOS. Please keep in mind I have not read the comics and only have random scans and You Tube comments in my head. I know there are vids comparing them but I have only watched a few from Marvel on the subject.

Appearance

KK comic Robbie is in his late teens while AOS Robbie is around Daisy's age so they aged him up at least a full decade. If Daisy is 27-29, can be hard to tell how much time passes in a season so I give it roughly a year so if she was 25 in season 1 she would be 28-29 in season 4 right? That makes sense to someone beside me yes? So if Daisy is almost 30 then Robbie should be the same age, maybe a year or so older. Now if you take the decade of age difference out of it how did they do with casting? Personally I feel they did a fine job, now if you wanted a younger version you may disagree but like a taller Wolverine I am not going to give Marvel crap for it. Luna is adorable when happy and intense most of the rest of them. Also all that pain face, so much wincing. Maybe I am a Luna fangirl but I am not claiming this blog is unbiased, you are free to disagree.

Now in the comic we see Robbie in more varying clothes but the signature outfit including the Jacket of Death are there, and really comfy looking. The suit Robbie wears when transformed is absent on the show. I made a joke in my HTTYGR sequel about a uniform for Robbie, and if he was wearing something like his comic book counterpart it could be cool. I cannot really see AOS going there as long as there is not an official team lead by Daisy again. In my fics they want Robbie to pass for an Inhuman so going toe to toe with Watchdogs with his skin intact. As for hair Robbie in the comics has two distinct looks, shaved and some fade thing, hair styles are not my thing so yeah terms. AOS Robbie has his hair buzzed but not shaved, close enough, though I have photos of Luna with a fade thing closer to comic Robbie's other look.

The major differences once you ignore the age up are the eyes and lack of scars. As you can see comic Robbie has very distinct scars on his face and hair lines, cool but distinct. He also has two different colored eyes, two souls and all that. Now AOS Robbie has those freckles we writers like to bring up but not any scars like his comic self, he may have scars form the crash but none on his face. Now as I showed in part 1 AOS Robbie's skull marks resemble the skull mask his comic self wears, which is awesome and I want one. It also seems Rider's skull are marked by how they die, I was informed of this in the notes of part 1. I had no idea, need and essential comic list for Ghost Riders and then get my hands on those comics. So you can take it as a bit of both, not sure if Robbie even wonders about it. Now I have heard rumors of Luna coming back in season 5, he'd better, or getting his own show, sold take my money, or both, yes Lord. If these are true and Luna's fade hair cut has something to do with that's interesting.

Personality

Now this I can not really speak to as comic Robbie is still in high school and taking care of a slow brother while AOS Robbie is older and Gabe is at least better then his brother in math. I would have to read the comics to be able to say for certain, but from what I have gleamed what makes Robbie a loving older brother, an anti-hero who hates murders and the like, all that makes him compelling is still pretty much there. The MCU has changed the back stories and the like of most of their players but retain who they are at their core. I would have to say the calmer Robbie we see at the end of season 4, and a bit earlier with Daisy, is close enough to the comics with all the changes made.

Relationships with Gabe and Eli

Now the biggest changes are here, aging him up is minor compare to these. Gabe in the comics is slow but happy and adores his brother, and apparently mac and cheese. Eli is still their uncle but is a straight up monster in the comics, literally. Eli on the show did care about his sister's sons at one point but became bitter and obsessed with power and respect. Robbie's face when he realizes his tio is killing him and gives no fucks breaks my heart. In the comics he is an evil bastard that caused Gabe's condition and posses Robbie to make him Ghost Rider. In AOS Robbie seems to have a back story more along the lines of the female Ghost Rider, from what very little I know about her. Johnny made her that is mostly all I know...seriously how has she not been in something? Eli is still responsible for Robbie becoming a Rider in AOS ultimately but he is not an inhuman monster like he is in the comics. Oh when the Rider burns his ass alive he has more then earned it but still we can how he became a monster over time.

Robbie and Gabe have not changed as much, Gabe is still confined to a wheelchair but he is no longer slow and so less of a burden on Robbie. Robbie still will do anything for him, and there is not doubt they are close. Gabe learning the truth gets understandably upset with Robbie, who wouldn't have been? Bad enough you fine out your brother died that night but that he sold his soul in part to stay with you and partly to kill those who had hurt you? Yes he reacts out of anger, God Robbie's face in this ep made me want to cry. Now by the conversation he has with Daisy he is a little less my brother is a possessed murder because he loves me and is more I should have seen it and helped him. The kid is coming to terms with it all, and now he has Robbie killed their uncle and has gone to Hell twice to add to it all, seriously poor kid.

It makes sense why they changed what they did with both of these relatives. A few people wondered if Eli would turn out to be a decent guy on AOS, nope, and Gabe can be used to explore how you deal with finding out someone you love and thought you know turns out to be a monster better then if he was still slow. Daisy went through that with Ward so it made sense she was trying to assure Gabe Robbie was still a good man.

Love Interest

I have scans of a very nice seeming red head who seems like a good fit. Going off these scans only here so for all I know she becomes a she demon form Hell...things that could actually happen in this Fandom for $600 Alex. Anyway the main thing about her that ties to AOS is the hat she is wearing, can't miss it. Daisy has one in in a few eps and many Quake Rider fans who look at random scan like me to gleam things have made the comparison. None of them claim Daisy is suppose to be this girl or anything as she is clearly still the Daisy we know and love dealing with the fall out of season 3, /hug. I believe the writers did add the hat because QuakeRider is a viable pairing by the end of 4. Yes they work as simply good friends, like her and Mack, or as an actual romantic couple, at least to me. If you watch Chloe and Gabe interact they are adorable, all the actors are truly, but their chemistry comes through. You can by they are close and would fight side by side without any prompting because it feels natural. Robbie slowly warms to the Team and he grows on all of them in turn, and I loved every moment of it.

KK this is getting a bit long so I will do powers and gear in the next part. Hope this amused some, and gave people some insight on why I write Robbie the way I do, which people seem to like so I must be on to something with all of this.

A little Good News to cheer you up a little, maybe.

To help counter a bit of the sadness from yet another shooting, trying to do what Gabe asked, I thought I would share a bit of good news regarding some of my QuakeRider fics. Every little bit helps sometimes, sadly if we only focused on the evil man does each day we would all likely kill ourselves within a week. Sorry that got really dark fast. KK enough dark time for a little light, even for a passing moment.

I just, as in seriously just, finished 'Let's Ride' chapter 2, sans all the little customizing and a once over to make sure I did not type something that was not even words.  I Already have HTTYGR the sequel already done so that is too big updates for my QuakeRider base to hopefully enjoy. The main thing now is I am a bit torn, Part of me wants to get 1 up today/tomorrow and the next in like a week to space them out, makes sense right? And another wants to wait and do a little mass update on American Thanksgiving, Canadians had theirs last month. Giving people something to read while food is in the oven and all that holiday downtime. Not sure what to do really. A petty problem yes, but one you all can help with. Gun violence is something that will be with us for a while sadly.

Little Update

Taking a tiny break from posting Marvel stuff here to focus on some of my completed works. Fear not fellow Marvel fans I will be back with a new project that will be much longer then my Ghost Rider stuff. Seriously like a dozen parts in total here, big project. Remember you can request, suggest, etc ideas for projects. Ask me anything is the easiest way to do this probably besides a note. Hope to see you all soon.

On a side note fans of HTTYGR and The RiderWhisper will be happy as they will get updates soon, /grin, and a few new QuakeRider One Shots will be added this month. Holiday prompts will be looked at once done with projects, or when feeling creative with no direction. No doubt will start posting them the first week of December if my brain is as crazy as it tends to be. Hope you all are enjoying The Wrong Side of Heaven while waiting for updates.

My Fic Ideas?

KK so I already did a blanket feel free to reblog my ramblings post so here another topic that may come up. Let us say you were reading my Ghost Riders post and liked the idea of Mack getting Robbie a sweet motorcycle as a welcome to the team, thanks for saving me from That Thing, bro bonding, gift. You are all happy then you notice I mention I need to write a fic using that idea, sudden buzz kill.

Look just because I may post an interesting idea and say I need to do a fic that does not mean you cannot too. Seriously if you get inspired by the same thing I did and feel compelled then you type that thing, and don't let me thinking of doing it as well stop you. You want to double check with me to make sure I don't have the exact same idea, like we might as well have just changed a few words from the same script the same. Or you want to see if I have a title in mind to keep form having two similar themed fics with the same name, as this can get a bit confusing and may inspire readers to fight over who copied who. Fell free to, Hell pose it as an ask me anything question and just link my answer to save time if you worried about crazy internet people.

If you are inspired by an actual fic or verse of mine and want to work with it just ask. Maybe you like HTTYGR and want to do a little one shot follow up to something or the like. I am not a writer who hates their stuff being used by others as long as I get credited, which is fair since it is my fic you are using as a base for your own. You want to do fan art, a blog post about what you like or dislike about it, whatever go for it. I get inspired by the most random things sometimes so it is a complement to inspire others, even if they go the opposite direction then I did with something.

When in doubt just ask first but I can't really see myself saying no. If you do see my stuff around and someone is passing it off as their own let me know. My words are my own, and while I am more than happy to have them shared and enjoyed I am not at all happy to have them stolen and passed off as someone else's.

People like My rambling?!

I love sharing my thoughts and reasoning for why I write what I do but I never thought any Head cannon I would share would be share worthy, unless it was someone else's . That makes me really happy, and I would be touched if someone used an idea I posted for something. Seriously if I ever post a thought, insight, anything that inspires you GO WITH IT, then soooo tell me later so I can comment. If anyone gives you shit tell me I and I will personally tell them you didn't steal anything. As if referring them to this post should not be enough for them, not going let someone bully someone using something I said they could.

On A side note need to finish chapter 2 of Let's Ride so I can get that up soon a long with my HTTYGR sequal...at least I got my Vampy Samhain GW update posted in time.
