as much as i disliked hs2, i would say that i'm a fan of everyone i recognize on the new team (ESPECIALLY HAVEN AND FLORALMARSUPIAL... THEY ARE GREAT AT WHAT THEY DO) so i want to have hope. so i'm just going in to this with 0 expectations

fr why did hs2 give jane the fiona fionaandcake treatment. whys she an entirely different body type from everyone else including her peers/friends

i don't really want to see major aspects of hs2 "retconned" (such as jane) because i think it would just make the writing of the story much more awkward as a whole to go through all of that BUT i genuinely would want to retcon the name yiffany into being ruby. it adds literally nothing to the story + it's just a weird "joke" that doesn't match anything about rose and jade's characters. as it is it just feels out of place to the point where nothing would be changed if it was taken out

imo there are a few too many "HE WOULD NOT SAY THAT" moments in the epilogues for the "they're older of course they would act different" excuse to pass

ok i know i literally just said i wouldn't talk about it but i guess i feel like i don't think the general concept and framework of post canon is all that good, but i can still hope that the new team finds a way to do something interesting with it. whether that will actually happen or not is still entirely up in the air for me

i was going to make a post saying "i love it when people make things up about events in post canon it's so funny and ends up being way more interesting to me" but then i remembered jade hate anon and immediately deleted the draft

remember on christmas eve in 2019 when homestuck 2 updated and everyone liked it because we thought post canon was gonna get better

i am going to change my "post canon" tag to "postcanon-tw" and my "hs2-negativity" tag to "hs2negativity-tw" because 1. i don't want people to be able to go through the post canon tag on my blog and 2. "hs2-negativity" was showing up in the "hs2" tag. if you would like to keep avoiding these things please add those tags to your filtered tags!

for that last part, i had no idea that that was happening. apparently this has been a big issue for some hs2 fans for a long time, and i'm extremely sorry that i've been clogging up the tag with negativity that was not my intention whatsoever /gen

i just wish that someone had told me about this sooner so that i could've fixed it earlier rather than later. if i'm doing something wrong please let me know because i am not trying to do it on purpose out of spite or anything

EDIT: tumblr is a functional website and it isn't letting me change the tags through the mass post editor so posts that were made in the past will be keeping the old tags, however going forward i will be using the new ones because it would take an unreasonable amount of time to go through hundreds of posts manually to change the tags. if someone knows of a better way to change them please lmk
