I always find myself thinking about the documentary that has been hinted at about his life/career and I just don’t get why they’d ever release one. He’s the most uninteresting person whose entire career has been handed to him. Plus he’s already basically done a recap on his life. In the the another man mag they told his life story, had his mom and sister talk about him and all that, then he did that Apple Music thing of making his first album that was him talking about his process and getting to make music he wants and whatever else, so what is there left to show? I mean I’d understand if they did like a short film on his last tour I guess bc it was so long and everything with covid interrupting it? Idk. But an entire documentary on his life/career makes zero sense when it’ll just be retelling info that’s already been told so many times.

How long does it take to make a documentary? They've been supposedly making one since he went solo. I mean, they did release the BTA for HS1, but nothing for Fine Line or HsH. They supposedly filmed Live on Tour and Love on Tour. Where are those concert movies? Taylor filmed her L.A. dates of the Eras tour and that movie is already coming out next week.

I love Harry’s documentary for HS1, there were so many scene about the writing process. There is a scene in particular where he was writing and he got so frustrated and said “ I can’t write songs!” I love that part because it was so funny and authentic. There’s an artist/YouTuber who did a reaction video on it who fell in love with Harry because of that scene. Any writer (songwriter, novel writer, etc… ) can get writer’s block and if someone is truly a writer, they’ll know this and if they’re confident enough in their skills/talent, they won’t be afraid to admit it. It’s so weird how Louis wants people to think he’s this great songwriter but couldn’t put any scenes that involves how he writes. He can’t prove it in solo songs but love to take credit for one direction songs and from the actual songwriters who were hired to write.

BTA was wonderful - it actually showed the songwriting process and how frustrating it can be. Louis would never be able to do six weeks at a residential studio somewhere remote because he has to rush off on nights out after the first few hours. Harry made it clear they work in the mornings too, and Louis sleeps til midday.

harry had come with you today to work to help you move out of your office. after two grueling years, you had finally finished your masters degree in literature.

another reason you had desperately needed to find a cheap place to live; although harry secretly paid 90% of rent without you knowing.

but things were looking up; harry’s first solo album would be released soon, your first solo novel was headed towards publishing and you had you mfa secured.

harry had been star-eyed as you led him through the campus towards the english department. with summer approaching, very few teachers were on campus and even less students.

“so i eat lunch over there,” you smiled, pointing towards a group of trees in the middle of the green on campus before pointing towards your favorite library. “and that’s where I grade papers in between class, it has a starbucks and everything.”

“do a lot of students stay on campus?”

“yeah, but it’s mainly for social life. everyone lives off campus since the city is so crammed. i have no idea how they managed the park.”

“but you liked it?”

“loved it. i think i might want to be a teacher when i’m older and have a few more books under my belt.”

“i can see you teaching,” he smiled, opening the door for you. “you’d teach lit and creative writing.”

“i’d try to teach it all. i have a minor in british studies, y’know?” smiling, you pulled him up the stairs with you, not wanting to take the old and terrifying elevator.

“how many degrees do you have?”

“not too many. double majored with a few minors and then my masters degree.”

stepping out, harry followed you down the hall into the small office you shared with three other girls who had moved out. “how’d you have the time?”

“i didn’t. i barely had a social life in college, i had days full of class and then i’d run to work and study during breaks. it paid off though, i made it out with barely there school debts and enough experience to land a job right out of college.”

“and then you went back to school.”

“yup.” unlocking the door, you ushered harry in and smiled when you took on his shocked expression.

“i thought you said they moved out?”

“they did.”

“so all these books are yours.” he was smiling as he gravitated towards the book shelf that spilled over onto your desk and nearby chairs. “you’ve read them all?”

“think so. think you can help me carry them?”

“god, no,” harry laughed, picking up a few of your books to look at the titles. “i haven’t heard of half of these. how’re you going to fit them in your room?”

“i have that one wall beside the bathroom. if i move the mirror to behind the door it should fit.”

you two worked out a system quickly, with harry handing you the books while you organize them into certain boxes.

“i have two copies of at swim-two-birds? maybe professor o’nolan would want it, both of them are pretty heavily marked up.” you spoke to yourself, reaching a hand up to take the next book from harry.

when your hand remained empty, you looked up to see harry sitting in front of your book shelf criss cross, silently staring straight ahead.

“h? you good, bud?”

when he didn’t reply, you grabbed his arm lightly and said, “hey, come back to me. where’d you go?”

his voice was quiet. “can you tell i didn’t go to uni?”

“what?”

“can you tell?”

“harry, what’s gotten into you?”

he finally glanced at you and you noticed his nose had gone pink and his eyes were growing watery. you’d never seen him upset before.

“you have all these degrees and certificates and trophies on your wall. letters from professors and students thanking you and praising your work on your desk. these books are filled with your thoughts. you’re the smartest person i’ve ever met and you live with me. you chose to spend time with me.”

“and? the only difference between you and me is a sheet of paper. harry you’re the most incredible person i’ve ever met. you’re leagues smarter than me.”

“but i never went to college or university. i don’t even have a degree.”

“it’s a piece of paper, babe. you have experience, and that’s worth a lot more.”

when he didn’t reply, you crawled over boxes and the faded carpet to sit next to him. lacing your hands together, you squeezed his hand tightly and let him lean on you.

“are you really upset about this?”

he shrugged, so you grabbed his face and pulled him towards you, resting your forehead against his.

“what are you doing?” he asked.

“shh. i’m giving you my degree through osmosis.”

“i don’t think that’s how it works?”

“well i’m no expert. i mean, i paid thousands of dollars to read books and tell people my opinions on them.”

he laughed at that and you leaned back to smile at him.

“college isn’t for everyone, hon. some people get lucky, like you, and get the chance early on to do what they love. you’re naturally gifted. i went to college because i wasn’t sure what I wanted to do until i was nineteen. you’ve known your whole life and you’re doing what you love.”

“you don’t think less of me?”

“i could never think less of you. i think you’re brave. and i think that if you really wanted to go to university, you could. but you shouldn’t just because you think you have to. you should go because you want to.”

harry smiles softly at that and went to say something before there was a knock at your door. surprised, you got up and cracked it open to see a few of your students standing with a box of your favorite bottled teas and a thank you card.

quickly, you blocked the view into your room so they couldn’t see harry packing your books away, careful to follow your system.

you decided it was best to just leave him unnoticed in your office while you spoke to the undergrads at your door.

“we just wanted to stop by and thank you for an amazing semester. we could not have passed without your tutoring session and study guides.” one boy gushed, smiling widely at you.

“you made the class much more bearable and understandable than the professor. american lit was actually fun,” another girl smiled. “we’re sad to see you go.”

“well, you all have my number and know how to reach me.”

“you’ll come to the summer send off tonight, right?”

“oh, i don’t know. i told my friend i’d buy him a drink for helping me move out of my office.”

“he can come too! just venmo us for drinks and food and you’re good to go. it’s at the station.”

“i’ll see. don’t know how he feels about parties.”

after sending them off, you were greeted with a smiling harry who asked, “did you just turn down a frat party?”

“no, i said maybe. wasn’t sure if that was your scene.”

“will they recognize me?”

“not if we go later. they’ll all be sloshed.”

“then let’s go.”

“are you sure?”

“neither of us had the full college experience. this could be our only chance.”

studying him for a moment, you sighed before giving in. “fine. but you’re telling jeff this time. i hate disappointing him.”
