Warnings/side notes: FLUFF. Classmates to lovers (Don't do it guys, it hurt so bad), Story takes place in a Philippine high school, alr ppl ik, why did I made it like that? Well simply because the song is OPM (Original Pilipino Music) and it fits well in that setting since most high school students found love (yuck, don't mind me I got broken hearted) few tagalog words, don't worry I'll put translation for u guys because I love u and I want you to read it (I just wasn't able to finished that minji fic I was talking abt) that's all, enjoy💙
--
The once silent classroom—well except for the teacher speaking—was broken once the teacher said his goodbyes and left.
You sat next to the window, scribbling down notes since you don't want to do it once you got home. Your friend—Wonyoung is too busy fixing up her make up to give a damn about anything.
Rei, on the other hand, is too busy munching food as she watched Wonyoung with a furrowed eyebrows, "I just don't understand why you have to fix your make up every five seconds. It's perfectly fine."
"Ugh, no! If I feel like it's not, then it's not." Wonyoung responded, too busy looking at her hand mirror and fixing her foundation or was it blush?
You don't know since you only glanced at her one time, "Hey! Why are you writing down notes? Wag mo na gawin yan!" (Don't do it!) Rei noticed you.
"Tsk, tinatamad ako gawin sa bahay, dito ko na gagawin." (Tsk, I'm too lazy to do it at home, so I'm doing it here.) You said without turning to look at them.
"Leave her be, she just wants to play games when she got home." Wonyoung snickered.
Rei nodded in response, munching on her snacks. "Hays, gaming talaga priority mo, Y/n," she said with a laugh. (Gaming is really your priority)
Before you could respond, the classroom door swung open, and Hanni walked in, her presence immediately capturing everyone's attention. She scanned the room briefly before her eyes landed on you.
You two locked eyes for a brief moment before Minji bumped into her shoulder 'accidentally', "Ay, sorry bro, hindi kita nakita, liit mo kasi." (I didn't see you, you're small)
Hanni glared at her, walking toward the back of the classroom with her guitar but not without stealing one more glance at you.
You felt a flutter in your chest as Hanni stole one more glance at you before settling at the back of the classroom with her guitar. Her presence always seemed to have an undeniable impact, and you couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more behind those glances.
Every recess, Hanni and her friends would gather at the back of the classroom, their voices harmonizing as they sang their favorite songs. It was a routine you had grown accustomed to, one that provided a pleasant background to your daily activities.
At first, you thought nothing of it. It was just her and her friends, enjoying their time together, singing their hearts out. But as days turned into weeks, you began to notice a pattern. Whenever Hanni sang a love song, her eyes seemed to linger on you, her gaze soft and meaningful. You brushed it off, thinking it was just a coincidence.
But boy, were you so wrong.
Minji looked back at Hanni, then at you, then at Hanni. Something seems to click in her mind because she made a shocked face before letting out a huge grin. She walked over to Hanni quickly, sitting down next to her on the floor as Hanni tune her guitar.
"Bro, alam ko na." (I figured it out/ I know) Minji wiggled her eyebrows at Hanni annoyingly.
Hanni look at her in confusion, "Know what?"
"You like Y/n."
Hanni froze, she slowly turn her head towards Minji with a shocked look on her face. "WHAAT?"
Minji nodded excitedly. "Yeah dude, I figured it out earlier when you glanced at her before coming here at the back. You weren't so subtle you know?"
Hanni's face turned a deep shade of red as she stammered, "N-no, you're mistaken. I just... I mean, it's not like that!"
Minji chuckled, clearly enjoying her friend's embarrassment. "Come on, Hanni. It's obvious. You always look at her when you sing those love songs. Just admit it."
"I'm not admitting anything! I don't like her, you're delusional!"
"Yes you do! Ask Yujin or Minjeong, they also know! They're the reason why I figured it out quickly." Minji said a bit loud, causing a few heads to turn—except yours.
"SHHHH! You talk too loud, they'll hear us." Hanni whispered fiercely, glancing around nervously.
Minji grinned, clearly enjoying Hanni's discomfort. "Relax, no one’s paying attention. But seriously, why don't you just talk to her? What's the worst that could happen?"
Hanni sighed, fiddling with the strings of her guitar. "It's not that simple, Minji. What if she doesn't feel the same way? I don't want to make things awkward between us."
Minji placed a reassuring hand on Hanni's shoulder. "Hey, it's a risk, but it's one worth taking. You might be surprised by how she feels. Just give it a shot."
Hanni glanced over at you, deep in conversation with Rei and Wonyoung, oblivious to the discussion happening at the back of the classroom. She took a deep breath, feeling a mix of anxiety and determination. "Alright, I'll think about it. But no more talking about this here, okay?"
Minji winked at her. "Got it. But remember, I'm rooting for you."
As Hanni watched you laugh with your friends, she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to share her feelings with you openly. Maybe it was time to take a leap of faith and see where her heart would lead.
Without a thought, her hand moved on its own, as Hanni's fingers moved effortlessly across the guitar strings, the familiar tune of "Gitara" by Parokya ni Edgar filled the classroom. Everyone knew this song, and it had a way of captivating anyone who heard it. She began to sing, her voice soft yet filled with emotion.
The strumming of guitar catches your attention because the tune is one of your favorites.
"Bakit pa kailangang magbihis?
Sayang din naman ang porma
Lagi lang namang may sisingit
Sa t'wing tayo'y magkasama"
Hanni's eyes found yours, and for a moment, the world seemed to fall away. She didn't even realize it, but she was looking directly at you as she sang.
"Bakit pa kailangan ng rosas
Kung marami namang mag-aalay sa'yo?
Uupo na lang at aawit
Maghihintay ng pagkakataon"
Her voice conveyed a depth of feeling that resonated with you, making your heart beat a little faster. The lyrics seemed to hold a personal message, one that was meant just for you.
"Hahayaan na lang silang magkandarapa na manligaw sa 'yo
Idadaan na lang kita sa awitin kong ito
Sabay ang tugtog ng gitara
Idadaan na lang sa gitara"
You couldn't tear your gaze away from her, the connection between you both growing stronger with each note. It was as if she was pouring her heart out through the song, hoping you'd understand what she was trying to say.
"Mapapagod lang sa kakatingin
Kung marami namang nakaharang
Aawit na lang at magpaparinig
Ng lahat ng aking nadarama"
The emotions in her voice were palpable, and you felt a mixture of surprise and warmth. Could it be that she had been trying to tell you something all along
"Pagbibigyan na lang silang magkandarapa na manligaw sa'yo
Idadaan na lang kita sa awitin kong ito
Sabay ang tugtog ng gitara
Idadaan na lang sa gitara"
Hanni continued to sing, her eyes never leaving yours. The moment was filled with unspoken words and emotions, the music bridging the gap between your hearts
'Pagbibigyan na lang silang magkandarapa na manligaw sa 'yo
Idadaan na lang kita sa awitin kong ito
Sabay ang tugtog ng gitara
Oh-oh-oh-oh, idadaan na lang"
As the song drew to a close, the room was filled with a charged silence. You could see the vulnerability in Hanni's eyes, too scared and shy to do anything, you stood up following your friends out the classroom. Giving her one more glance and a soft smile before leaving.
"Wow. I was just about to say that you could confess to her in this event the school is holding next week but uhh that could work too? Wait—did it work? I think it didn't" Minji's voice rang beside her.
Hanni sighed, looking down at her guitar. "I don't know, Minji. I couldn't even see her reaction properly. What if she didn't understand what I was trying to say?"
"Well, don't worry, you can do it again! Look here." She placed her phone right in front of Hanni's face, the other girl flinched before glaring at her and taking the phone from her hand.
"Oh, Christmas event?" Hanni asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Yup! It's a new one, you know how they always don't make events like this, it could be a chance to confess properly!" Minji said excitedly.
"Now before you refuse. You couldn't actually. You're one of the people that will perform on stage."
"What? Me?!"
"Yea, Ma'am Santiago already chose you, she said you couldn't back out since you've got the best voice in the class and everyone loves your performances."
Hanni groaned, running a hand through her hair. "I can't believe this. I'm not ready for this kind of pressure, Minji."
Minji laughed, patting Hanni's shoulder. "Relax, Hanni. You've performed plenty of times before, and you've always nailed it. Besides, this is your chance to make your confession extra special. Imagine singing a beautiful song and then telling Y/n how you feel in front of everyone. It's like something out of a movie!"
Hanni sighed, her anxiety mixing with a hint of excitement. "I don't know, Minji. What if I mess up? What if she doesn't feel the same way?"
Minji shook her head, her expression serious. "You won't mess up, Hanni. And even if things don't go exactly as planned, at least you'll know you tried. That's better than never knowing at all."
Taking a deep breath, Hanni nodded. "You're right. I'll do it. I'll make sure my performance is perfect, and I'll use this chance to finally tell Y/n how I feel."
Minji beamed, giving Hanni an encouraging hug. "That's the spirit! Let's start planning your performance and make it unforgettable."
Two figures joined them on the floor, the familiar faces of their friends—Yujin and Minjeong munching on snacks as they settled down beside Hanni and Minji.
"What's up with the serious faces?" Yujin asked, raising an eyebrow as she took a bite of her sandwich.
Minji grinned, gesturing towards Hanni. "Our dear Hanni here is planning a grand confession at the Christmas event."
Minjeong's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? That sounds exciting! Who's the lucky person?"
Hanni sighed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and anticipation. "It's Y/n."
Yujin and Minjeong exchanged knowing looks, both of them nodding in approval. "Good choice," Yujin said with a smile. "Y/n's a great person. But are you ready for this, Hanni?"
Hanni took a deep breath, her determination growing stronger. "I think so. I want to give it my best shot."
Minjeong patted Hanni's back encouragingly. "Don't worry, we're here to support you. We'll help you practice and make sure everything goes smoothly."
Minji chimed in, "Yeah, and we can even help you come up with the perfect song for your confession. It has to be something really special."
Hanni smiled, feeling grateful for her friends' support. "Thank you, guys. With all of you backing me up, I feel more confident."
As they continued to discuss and plan, the anticipation for the upcoming Christmas event grew. Hanni knew that this was her chance to finally express her feelings to you, and with her friends by her side, she felt ready to take that leap.
--
It was nice to say that Hanni was shaking, today is the day she's going to confess to you. Well more of a confession via singing a song not exactly like the typical words "Hey, I like you for a long time now, please go out with me?" No, Hanni wasn't a straightforward person; she preferred to do things her own way—through music.
She stood backstage, clutching her guitar, feeling her heart race. The Christmas event was in full swing, and the festive atmosphere did little to calm her nerves. Minji, Yujin, and Minjeong had been by her side all day, offering encouragement and support.
"Remember, Hanni, just breathe and let your music do the talking," Minji said, giving her a reassuring pat on the back.
"You've got this," Yujin added, her smile warm and confident.
Hanni nodded, taking deep breaths to steady herself. The sound of the crowd cheering as the previous act finished echoed through the hall. It was almost her turn.
As Hanni stepped onto the stage, the bright lights momentarily blinded her, but she quickly adjusted. She took a seat on the stool, her guitar resting on her lap, and glanced out at the crowd. Her eyes quickly found you, sitting near the front with your friends, looking up at her with a curious expression.
You didn't expect to see Hanni up on stage with her guitar. No one had mentioned that one of your classmates would be performing. As the spotlight illuminated her, you felt a jolt of surprise and curiosity. What was she going to play?
Hanni took a deep breath, visibly nervous, but as she began to strum her guitar, a familiar tune filled the room. Her voice, soft and melodic, resonated through the hall, and you recognized the song immediately. It's your favorite song—one that tugged at your heartstrings with every note. Sa'yo by Silent Sanctuary.
"Minsan, oo, minsan, hindi
Minsan, tama, minsan, mali
Umaabante, umaatras
Kilos mong namimintas"
As she sang, her eyes remained locked on you. The connection was palpable, and the lyrics seemed to be a heartfelt confession.
"Kung tunay nga ang pag-ibig mo
Kaya mo bang isigaw?
Iparating sa mundo"
You felt your heart racing. Was she singing this just for you?
"Tumingin sa 'king mata
Magtapat ng nadarama
'Di gustong ika'y mawala
Dahil handa akong ibigin ka
Kung maging tayo
Sa'yo lang ang puso ko"
As Hanni's voice filled everyone's ears, the sincerity and depth of her performance were undeniable. The music carried her emotions, and you couldn't help but be drawn in.
"Walang ibang tatanggapin
Ikaw at ikaw pa rin
May gulo ba sa 'yong isipan?
'Di tugma sa nararamdaman"
Each verse seemed to echo her unspoken feelings, revealing a side of Hanni you had never seen before.
"Kung tunay nga ang pag-ibig mo"
You watched, captivated, as Hanni poured her heart out through the song.
"Tumingin sa 'king mata
Magtapat ng nadarama
'Di gustong ika'y mawala
Dahil handa akong ibigin ka
Kung maging tayo"
The next part is where everyone sings their heart out, the part where your heart almost jumps out your chest.
"Kailangan ba kitang iwasan?
Sa t'wing lalapit, may paalam
Iba'ng anyo sa karamihan
Iba rin 'pag tayo
Iba rin 'pag tayo lang, ahh"
The drums kick in, and Hanni's voice picks up, transforming the slow, beautiful melody into something more intense and emotional.
"Tumingin sa 'king mata
Magtapat ng nadarama
'Di gustong ika'y mawala
Dahil handa akong ibigin ka
Kung maging tayo (kung maging tayo)
Kung maging tayo (kung maging tayo)
Kung maging tayo
Sa 'yo na ang puso ko"
As the song reached its powerful conclusion, you felt a rush of emotions that left you breathless. The entire room seemed to vibrate with the intensity of Hanni's performance. The music had bridged the gap between your hearts, and you knew in that moment that her feelings were genuine and deep.
Minji appeared beside you, a wide grin on her face. "Hi! Come with me." She didn't even let you respond before grabbing your hand and dragging you up onto the stage.
"Hey-what?" you exclaimed, bewildered as you found yourself standing next to Hanni, who looked equally surprised.
Minji gave you a playful push towards Hanni. "Well, since you two clearly have some feelings to sort out, I thought you might appreciate a little nudge," she said with a wink.
It feels awkward with everyone's intense and confuse stares directed at you two.
"Minji, this wasn't part of the plan!" Hanni whispered-yelled, her cheeks burning bright red.
Minji just grinned, completely unfazed by the attention. "Relax, Hanni. Sometimes plans change, and this is one of those moments," she said, giving Hanni a reassuring pat on the back.
You couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed too, but seeing Hanni's flushed face made you want to ease her nerves. "It's okay, Hanni," you said softly, squeezing her hand gently. "So what's going on?"
You glanced at Hanni, whose cheeks were flushed with a mix of nerves and excitement. She took a deep breath, her eyes locking onto yours. "Y/n, I... I just wanted to say that the song I sang was for you. Everything I felt, everything I wanted to express, was in those lyrics."
"It uhm, means that I uh... Like you for a very long time, I know I wasn't subtle, those times we were singing at the back, those love songs was meant for you, I don't know if you've felt it.
Your heart swelled with emotion, "Hanni, I felt it. Your music spoke to me in a way words never could. Trust me, I wanted to talk to you about that but you did it first. And I want you to know that I feel the same way."
The crowd around you erupted in cheers and applause, but in that moment, all you could focus on was Hanni. She smiled, her eyes shimmering with happiness.
"Really? You do?" Hanni asked, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Of course, that song is my favorite," you continued, your smile growing wider. "And hearing you sing it made it even more special. It felt like you were speaking directly to my heart."
Hanni's face lit up with happiness, her eyes shimmering with emotion. "I'm so glad you felt that way, Y/n. I put all my feelings into that song, hoping you would understand."
You nodded, feeling a sense of warmth and connection. "I did, Hanni. And I want you to know that I'm grateful you had the courage to share it with me. Your music really speaks volumes."
You cupped her cheeks gently, staring into her eyes. The world around you seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in a moment of pure connection. Hanni's eyes, filled with hope and emotion, looked back at you with a depth that took your breath away.
"Hanni," you whispered, your voice trembling slightly with emotion. "I've never felt this way before. Thank you for sharing your heart with me."
Hanni's lips curved into a soft smile, her eyes glistening with tears of happiness. "I'm so glad you feel the same way, Y/n. This means everything to me."
You leaned in closer, your foreheads touching, both of you basking in the warmth of the moment. The festive lights of the event cast a gentle glow around you, making the scene feel even more magical.
With a tender smile, you closed the distance between you, your lips meeting in a soft, heartfelt kiss. The world seemed to stand still as you both shared this intimate moment, the culmination of all the emotions and unspoken words that had brought you to this point.
The crowd around you erupted in cheers and applause, but in that moment, all that mattered was the connection between you and Hanni. The kiss was a promise of the beautiful love story that was just beginning, a story that would be remembered long after the music had faded.
This moment became the happiest day of your entire life.

Lovely.
Hanni Pham.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis: A girl from the library has caught her attention and now she's trying to get hers. Seems simple? Nope, it's far from that.
Pairings: Hanni Pham x Fem!reader
Warnings: Cuss words slight, others; none (?)
A/N: Had this idea at a Sunday night at 10pm and just finished it now lmao, also Pride and Prejudice is a must read! I love it!!!!
--
In the quiet sanctuary of a city library, surrounded by the musty scent of old books and the soft hum of pages turning, Hanni found her gaze drifting from her biology textbook to the girl across the room. The girl, with her black hair that flows beautifully pass her shoulders and her deep brown eyes that sparkled with curiosity, had an air of effortless grace as she moved through the stacks. Every movement seemed choreographed, every glance a mystery wrapped in a whisper.
Hanni's heart skips a beat whenever her gaze found the girl, looking effortlessly beautiful while looking for books and just sitting there, reading silently. Hanni has seen her multiple times before, yet, she doesn't have the courage to start a conversation with her. She had never been good at initiating conversations, especially not with someone who seemed so absorbed in her own world.
At this point, she just came to the library not to study, but to admire the girl, whom she doesn't know the name of. Constantly ditching her friends just to sit by the library, grabbing a random book from a random shelf, her eyes always glued to the girl.
Her actions spiked up curiosity from her friends, wondering what got her coming to the library, everyone of them knows she hates that place, even hoping to curse it. What's got her so smitten now?
Knowing her friends, they will never give up until they have their answers. That's why now, here they are, behind Hanni's table, spying on her actions, desperate for answers.
Hushed whispers was heard from behind her, yet her eyes stays on the girl, who's table is across the room from her, reading silently with stacks of books beside her. 'That's tons of books.' Hanni thought.
Not even feeling the burning holes behind her head, three idiots sat behind her, using book to cover up their faces, Minji pulled her book down so only her eyes are visible. Her gaze on Hanni with confusion. "What the hell? How is she staying that still?" She whispered to the other two while keeping her eyes on Hanni.
"I'm telling you, it's those cookies from the other week! I knew it was cursed!" Hyein butted in earning a confused look from Haerin,
"Cookie? You mean those cookies we brought from that old lady?"
"Yes! That old lady might be a witch! Look how Hanni is acting after she ate those cookies." Hyein reasoned out. Meanwhile, Minji who is trying to put up with their secret spies act hushed them.
"Shhh! Guys, can't you see I'm trying to spy on Hanni right now?! Stop talking so loud because she'll hear us!" She turned to look at them with annoyance, the other two didn't respond and just look at something or... Someone behind her.
"Heh, yeah." Haerin smirked while nodding her head repeatedly, Hyein just shrugged while trying to hold back laughter.
"What now?" Minji let out a deep sigh, Hyein just nodded at something behind her, silently telling Minji to turn around.
"Wha-?" Minji turned only to be met by a smack on the head. "OW!" she yelped as she rubbed the part where she was hit, Hanni stood now in front of her with her hands on her waist, looking extremely frustrated or annoyed, maybe both?
"What are you guys doing! Spying on me now huh?"
"It's Minji's fault!" Hyein quickly snitched, trying to run away only to be pulled back down by the back of her shirt by Haerin. Clearly not wanting to deal with this angry smol otter.
Minji received another smack from Hanni after Hyein said that, she let out a grunt before rubbing her head aggressively, "Stop with that!"
"Why would I? You forced those two to spy on me!"
"Okay, but my reason is valid."
"Valid my butt! I don't care!"
"Actually, it might be valid or..." Haerin spoke up, stretching out the 'or' while looking at Hanni who's giving her a look that says 'Don't you dare say another word.'
Haerin just cleared her throat, not wanting to continue speaking. Hanni turned her attention back on Minji who's trying to see who or what was Hanni looking at earlier.
"Dude!" She pushed Minji's shoulder harshly, "Ow! Okay fine! I'm sorry."
Minji moved away from Hanni, trying to squeeze in between the two younger girls who just pushed her back. "Seriously, why does everyone keep hurting me?"
She scoffed before settling down on the table behind them. Hanni just watched with her arms crossed, "Mind telling me what now?"
The three didn't show any sign of them wanting to speak, "Guys, seriously, tell me!"
"We noticed you were acting really weird since the other week. Like really out of yourself, we know you Hanni, you don't like the library, it's like the last thing you want to be at. What changed your mind?"
"And I'm telling you guys, it's those cookies! I knew it! Maybe that old lady is a witch or something worse!" Hyein butted in, speaking in a really loud voice, causing the librarian to shushed them and for the others to look at them.
Part of the others is the girl, whom Hanni was admiring from afar earlier before being interrupted by the noises from behind her.
Hanni gave the librarian an apologetic smile, catching the girl's stare just as she was looking back at her friends. Hanni felt her heart skipped a beat when their eyes met, even if just for a fleeting second.
The world seemed to stop and stood frozen, the two of them held their gaze, the girl gave her a small smile before returning to her book, Hanni then being snapped back to reality by Haerin and Hyein arguing.
"I told you she's not!"
"She might be!"
"What? Witches don't even exist, much less, a thing worser than a witch!"
"Yes, they do! You just couldn't see it!"
"Guys! Shut up, Hanni is going to explain why." Minji looked at Hanni expectedly, waiting impatiently. "Well?"
"Well you see... There's this girl-"
"Oh.My.Gosh." Hyein let out an exaggerated gasp which earns her a soft slap on the shoulder by Haerin, who seems to be into this topic of Hanni.
"Well... Uhm, I may have a crush on her BUT! I don't know if it's a crush because I don't know! This is confusing!"
"Do you like seeing her?"
"Yes! She's like soo pleasing in the eyes, the kind of thing you want to see after a long and harsh day. You know? That thing where you look at her and all your worries and problems just go 'PUFF'"
The other three just nodded, "It's like I want to see her everyday! She's helping me ease my mind without even knowing it, I mean, look at her! She's just sitting there, reading silently yet still looking effortlessly gorgeous!"
She subtly gestures to the girl from across the room, whom in fact, is whatever Hanni is saying is true.
"Huh. For once, you're actually believable." Minji muttered while staring at the girl, which earns her a glare from Hanni.
"If you're that interested in her, why don't you talk to her?" Haerin's soft voice is finally heard again, after being silent for quite some time.
"I don't know... You guys know me, I'm bad at starting conversations, I say weird things, mostly out of topic, it's just... Embarrassing."
"You should try, she seems like a really nice girl, plus! She seems familiar to me." Hyein said, still staring at 'Hanni's girl'
"What do you mean? Also, stop looking at her! She might notice!"
"She's just... She looks someone I knew." Hyein's confuse stare makes the others confuse too.
"Hmm, I'm sensing something." Minji shrugged, clearly knows or trying to know what Hyein is thinking.
"You can't sense shit." Hanni retorted.
"Dude! There's kids here!" Minji gave her a pointed look, making Hanni roll her eyes.
"Hah! I'll figure it out later, can we go now? I'm hungry!"
Hyein stood up and dragged the two older girls out of the library, Haerin following closely yet quietly behind, taking one last glance at Hanni's girl.
--
After days of silent admiration and some persuading from her friends, Hanni decided it was time to make her move. Armed with a plan that seemed foolproof in her head, she picked up a book she knew well—Jane Austen's “Pride and Prejudice”—and positioned herself within the girl’s line of sight. The idea was simple: read a classic and maybe, just maybe, it would spark a conversation.
As the minutes ticked by, Hanni’s confidence began to wane. The girl seemed completely engrossed in her reading, oblivious to the world around her. Hanni sighed and turned her attention back to her book, feeling foolish for even trying. But then, like a scene straight out of a romantic novel, the girl looked up and their eyes locked.
“Pride and Prejudice, huh?” The girl’s voice was soft, with a hint of curiosity. “One of my favorites.”
Hanni's heart raced. "Oh really? Mine too, uhm I'm Hanni, by the way."
“Y/n” the girl replied, her smile as radiant as the afternoon sun streaming through the windows. "So, you're that girl who was shushed by the librarian few days ago?"
Hanni's cheeks burned bright red, she stutters on her words, "W-well, you see it was actually my friend, she talks loud about witches and stuff... I just apologized on the librarian for her... Sorry, did we disturbed your reading?"
Y/n gave her a smile in return, finding the girl amusing and cute too. "No no, it's fine, just got surprised when a loud voice rang throughout the library."
"Oh phew. I thought we were disturbing. She's just really energetic and loud." Hanni chuckled nervously, trying to melt the ice between them.
Y/n nodded in response, her eyes seems to find herself drowning in Hanni's eyes, those soft yet showing clear sign of nervousness. Why is she nervous? It's not like Y/n is a bad person.
Wanting to ease the tension between them, Y/n spoke up. "So, what do you think of Mr. Darcy?"
Hanni looked at her in confusion to which the other girl point out the book in front of her. "Oh... Well, at first Darcy appears to be arrogant and aloof. His wealth and social standing make him seem proud and dismissive of those he considers beneath him. He is highly honorable and principled, loyal and devoted to those he cares about, he is highly intelligent and well-educated too."
"Over time, Darcy reveals a more romantic and compassionate side. His genuine love for Elizabeth Bennet, despite societal expectations, shows his capacity for deep emotional connection and personal growth. Darcy’s actions demonstrate his generosity and consideration for others, especially when he helps to resolve the scandal involving Lydia Bennet. His willingness to intervene and provide financial support without seeking recognition is a testament to his character."
"Throughout the novel, Darcy becomes more self-reflective and learns to humble himself. He acknowledges his flaws and strives to improve, particularly in his interactions with Elizabeth. Sorry, am I talking too much?" Hanni asked after noticing the person she's talking to has gone quiet. Feeling nervousness in her bones, afraid to have scared the girl.
The other just chuckled, "What, no! I just... Find it very amusing and nice to finally have someone to talk to about books and someone who notice that much detail."
Hanni sighed in relief, "Thank god, I thought I scared you, I talk to much... Thought I'll give you a warning."
"It's fine, I like it when someone talks too much about things they like, giving them the freedom to speak without feeling judged, now if you may, continue please?"
A grin appeared on her face, easing her worries about scaring the girl and finally letting herself be comfortable. "In my opinion, Mr. Darcy's transformation from a seemingly proud and distant aristocrat to a loving and humble partner is central to the novel's themes of personal growth and the complexities of human relationships. His character arc is one of the most compelling aspects of "Pride and Prejudice."
And just like that, the ice was broken. They spent hours discussing books, sharing their favorite passages, and laughing over their mutual love for classic literature. Hanni's warmth and easygoing nature made Y/n feel at ease, and for the first time in a long while, she felt a connection that transcended words.
After they said goodbye's to each other and went their separate ways, Hanni couldn't help but let out a huge grin, proud of herself for not chickening out. Proud to finally talk to the girl she's been wanting to. Minji spotted her skipping in the halls and giggling to herself, "Now what happened to that weirdo?" She muttered before ignoring her once again.
But as days turned into weeks, Hanni began to notice a distance in Y/n’s demeanor. She was still kind, still warm, but there was a guardedness in her eyes, a reluctance to let Hanni get too close. It made Hanni overthink, wondering what could have possible gone wrong? Did she finally get bored of her because she talks too much?
She knew she couldn't leave it like this, it's eating her alive. One evening, as they sat together in their usual spot by the window, Hanni decided to confront the issue.
“Y/n, is everything okay?” she asked gently. “You seem… distant.”
Y/n took a deep breath, her eyes fixed on the book in her lap. “It’s not you, Hanni. It’s me. I have some personal issues I’m dealing with, and I don’t want to burden you with them.”
Hanni reached out and took Y/n's hand in hers, giving it a gentle squeeze before saying. "You don't have to carry everything alone, Y/n, I'm here for you. We're friends now yeah?" But Hanni wished they could be more than friends, if only.
Tears welled up in Y/n’s eyes as she looked at Hanni. “I don’t want you to get hurt. My problems... they’re complicated.”
“We’ll face them together,” Hanni said with a smile. “You don’t have to push me away.”
In that moment, Y/n realized that maybe, just maybe, she could trust Hanni with her heart and her burdens. It wouldn’t be easy, but together, they could navigate the challenges ahead. But she couldn't shake this growing feeling in her chest. The kind of thing that makes you smile yet sad, the one thing that brings you comfort. She couldn't understand what is it or what's causing it.
She wants to hate it but she couldn't. Hanni brings her comfort like no one else did except her dearest sister, Danielle.
Hanni is like a flower that bloomed in her gloomy and dark garden, something so beautiful made her garden bloom, to her, Hanni colored her dark world. She brought happiness and beauty in the dark realm, the butterflies are supposed to roam freely and not be in her stomach whenever Hanni is around. Y/n thought 'I'll just ask Danielle about this, she seems more professional at understanding feelings.'
And so, in the quiet sanctuary of the city library, surrounded by the musty scent of old books and the soft hum of pages turning, a new chapter began—a story of love, trust, and the courage to let someone in.

-
In the world full of chaos and uncertainty, you found yourself navigating through life's relentless storm, at this point, you thought you're already used to it—after all those fights with your parents, getting in trouble many ways even though you tried not to, deep emotions you cannot explain to anyone—except Danielle.
Who is she, you may ask? She's someone you trust with all your life, someone who has been there thru your ups and downs, someone who never judges or discriminate your feelings, someone who you really love, wait what?
Anyway, she's simply sent by God as an apology for making you live with bad parents, I mean, extremely bad parents. You're nothing but a disgrace and disappointment to them, they never wanted you so why didn't they just slept that night instead of creating a baby they will never care for? A thought that always runs in your mind.
Fights always started with them throwing insults and you know, bad things to you even if you're not doing anything—just sitting there, doing homework, reading, painting or playing the piano, yikes. They hate mistakes on that piano; press one wrong key and you'll be hit by a stick.
Like what's happening right now, you're sitting there, playing the piano with your father behind you holding a long wooden stick, nervous eyes stares at the paper placed in front of you with shaky hands hovering above keys—hesitating to press anything with the fear of being hit again.
"Well? Go on, play." Your father's deep voice rang from behind you, he's getting pissed—you thought. Letting out a shaky breath as you press one of the keys, focusing on the notes, trying not to make anymore mistakes. A key after key after key.
It goes on and on until—a loud smack rang throughout the entire room, your eyes swelled up with tears after feeling that hard sting on the back of your hand, what was red earlier has now bled.
"Seriously, do you ever learn from your mistakes? It's the seventeenth time we've done this!" Closing your eyes as your ear starts to ring, seventeenth time... Always the same mistake every time.
"It's like you're doing this on purpose now! Do you like being hurt, huh?!"
"N-no, father."
"Do not stutter on me child. You're clearly doing it on purpose, trying to get beaten up to not play on stage, am I right?"
"No!" Cowering at the dark glare on your father's eyes, you look down in fear, staring at the blood dripping on the ground.
"You raised your voice at me?"
Shaking your head franticly, trying to say something to defend yourself—all attempts lead to nothing as your father gripped your hair from the back and threw you onto the ground, landing hard enough to leave a bruise.
"Disrespectful. I didn't not taught you to be like this!" Raising the wooden stick he's holding and starts hitting you with it, the sound is so painful and loud mixed with the cry of pain and mercy.
" I'm sorry, please!"
"You are no child of mine! You're a disgrace to this family!"
Your mother who has been sitting on the couch the entire time finally looked at you with a cold look in her eyes that says 'I regret giving birth to you.'
At this point, you've had enough. The bruises and wounds from the previous beating still hasn't healed and now there will be more. 'I can't live like this, I have to get out no matter what.' You thought,
Finally, you're fed up with their bullshits and constant beating that causes you to have serious health issues. 'It's for the better, it's what I have always wanted, it's what Danielle wanted me to do, it's for me and for her.'
Choking up a cry, you pushed your father away harshly that nearly causes him to fall down on to the floor, taking that chance to stand up abruptly yet shakily, you bolted out the living room—navigating your way through the entire mansion, you can hear his footsteps behind you, his voice filled with burning rage.
"Y/n! Come back here at once! I'm not done teaching you a lesson, you should learn the consequences of your mistakes!"
Ignoring his protests, you ran out the house, sprinting out aimlessly—just trying to get him off your tail. After a while, you can no longer hear his footsteps or his voice, calling you dirty names and cursing you for a life time.
Stopping a dark alley to avoid being seen by anyone because seeing a girl with bloody hands and beaten up body is not a sight one is wanting to see. Leaning against the wall for support as you pant heavily, tears still streaming down your face—only now you realized that you're still crying.
In the dark alley, the weight of the night's events bore down on you. Every breath was a struggle, your body ached with each sob that escaped your lips. A breathy laugh escaped from your lips, proud of yourself for finally leaving that hell you were forced to call home. Finally free from the monsters inside that constantly tormenting your existence.
As the realization of your escape began to sink in, you knew there was only one place you could go—Danielle. Feeling your pockets, hoping to find your phone with you, a sad smile appeared on your face as you feel the familiar rectangular device on your back pocket.
Reaching for your phone with trembling hands, you clicked the call button, your vision blurred by tears.
A few minutes of silent before her lovely voice is finally heard by your ears, you breath out a sigh of relief. Danielle, the angel she is immediately noticed something is wrong.
"Hey, what's wrong? It's almost midnight..."
Danielle, God, I love her. You didn't say anything at all, just listening to her with the sad smile on your face.
"Y/n? Is everything okay? What happened?"
"Dani... I need you." You cringed at the sound of your voice, raw and raspy. Clearly hinting off that you're crying.
"Y/n!? Wha- Where are you?"
"I don't know... I just, I ran anywhere, I'll just turn on my location and wait for you here."
"Stay right there. I'm coming to get you," Danielle's voice was filled with urgency and concern.
You activated your phone's location, sending it to Danielle. As you waited, the cold night air wrapped around you like a suffocating blanket. Your mind raced with a mix of relief and fear, relief that Danielle was coming to save you, and fear of what would happen next.
Minutes dragged on like hours until you finally saw Danielle's car pull up at the end of the alley. She rushed out, her face a mixture of worry and determination. Without a word, she enveloped you in a tight hug, her warmth and presence immediately making you feel safe.
The moment she pulled you in for a warm and tight embrace, it like everything vanished, the pain of your bruises, the memory of the past, the sadness you feel, all vanished.
"Oh honey, what happened to you?" Her voice laced with worry and sadness as she takes in your beaten up figure. Her warm hands cupping your wet cheeks as she stares into those dull eyes of yours.
'Honey'? That nickname again, she's making me feel things I shouldn't, why? Why is she like this... She's making this harder for me than it already is.
"Let's get you out of here," she whispered, helping you into the car. As she sat silently, she kept stealing glances at you, her brow furrowed with concern. Your head turned to the window, ignoring her glances at you, mostly ignoring the heat that rushes to your cheeks.
Her personal driver paid no mind to what's happening at the back, the only thing he ever wanted was to sleep but was interrupted by Danielle—the girl who can't drive.
Danielle had your arm around her waist, keeping it that way in a tight yet warm gripped, ensuring that you're close to her and won't be able to pull away.
Back at her house, Danielle led you inside and settled you on the couch. She hurried to get some warm towels and a first aid kit. Gently, she cleaned your wounds, her touch tender and caring.
"What happened? It's okay if you don't want to tell me, I just want to know why you look like this, calling me at nearly midnight for help. This is unusual thing for you to do."
As you leaned back on the couch as you let out a deep, shaky sigh, feeling the soothing touch of Danielle's hands tending to your wounds, you took a deep, shaky breath. Her gentle presence was like a balm to your shattered spirit, and for the first time in hours, you felt a flicker of safety and comfort.
"It's just... everything," you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper. "The fights, the expectations, the constant fear. I can't take it anymore."
Danielle's eyes were filled with empathy as she listened, her fingers gently wrapping a bandage around your hand. "You've been through so much. You don't deserve any of this, Y/n. I'm so sorry."
Tears welled up in your eyes as you looked at her, the weight of your emotions finally spilling over. "They hate me so much, Danielle. No matter what I do, it's never enough. I feel so alone, so lost."
'I've had enough, the beatings and you know... After earlier I just snapped, I ran away."
Danielle pulled you into a warm embrace, her arms enveloping you in a cocoon of love and protection. "You're not alone," she whispered, her voice steady and reassuring. "You have me. I'll always be here for you, no matter what. And I'm proud of you for doing that, you left the place you've feared for so long, you had the courage to leave."
You clung to her, the tears flowing freely now as you let out all the pain and frustration you had been holding inside. Danielle's presence was your anchor, grounding you in the midst of your turmoil.
As the night wore on, you found yourself opening up to her about everything—your parents, the abuse, the unbearable pressure. Danielle listened without interruption, offering her unwavering support and understanding.
"I can't go back," you said finally, your voice hoarse from crying. "I can't live like that anymore."
Danielle nodded, her expression resolute. "You don't have to. You can stay here, with me. For as long as you need. This is your home now."
"What if they find me?"
"I won't let them take you away, you're with me now. Nothing can hurt you here."
Her words brought a sense of relief so profound that it took your breath away. For the first time, you felt a glimmer of hope, a possibility of a future where you could be safe and loved.
"Thank you, Danielle," you whispered, your heart swelling with gratitude and affection. "I don't know what I would do without you."
She smiled, brushing a stray tear from your cheek. "You never have to find out. We'll get through this together."
The days that followed were a blur of healing and adjustment. Danielle made sure you were comfortable and well-cared for, creating a safe and nurturing environment where you could begin to rebuild your life.
Your bond with Danielle grew stronger with each passing day. Her love and support became the foundation upon which you started to find your footing again. One evening, as you both sat on the balcony, watching the stars twinkle in the night sky.
Watching them from her eyes is something you never thought you would do, it's amusing how everything seems to reflect in her eyes—making them sparkle more than it usually did, it's like love is very evident from them, it's something you feel yourself fall everytime.
Her smile can bright up even the darkest day, warm up the coldest night. It's a smile you would do anything to see, even a glimpse of it, you feel your day being complete.
It's the same smile that you fell for back in the day, the moment you first met, whenever you spent time together, the smile that was present when she stayed by your side that entire night.
Her laugh is a melody, a sound so beautiful it belongs to the heavens. Music is not needed if her laugh fills the air. Each note of her laughter is like a gentle ripple in the calmest of lakes, bringing joy and serenity to all who hear it. It’s a symphony of pure delight, capable of lighting up the darkest days and melting the hardest hearts.
When she laughs, it's as if the world pauses for a moment, captivated by the harmonious sound. Her laughter has a way of lifting spirits and spreading happiness, creating a sense of warmth and love that is simply irreplaceable.
Her beauty is captivating, an ethereal blend of grace and elegance that seems almost otherworldly. Each feature of hers is a masterpiece, sculpted with such precision and care that it leaves those who behold her in awe.
Beyond her physical beauty, there is an aura about her—a presence that exudes confidence, empathy, and kindness. Her voice is soothing, each word spoken with thought and care, like a gentle melody that resonates with the heart.
Her beauty is not just in her appearance but in her actions, her words, and the way she treats others with respect and love. She is the kind of person whose beauty grows deeper the more you get to know her, revealing layers of charm and grace that are truly timeless.
Noticing your silence and feeling your eyes on her, she looked at you with a soft smile, seeing the loving expression in your eyes. Her heart warmed, and she reached out to gently take your hand in hers.
"Hey," she said softly, her voice filled with warmth and tenderness. "What's on your mind?"
The way she looked at you, with such genuine affection and understanding, made you feel a rush of emotions. It was as if she could see right into your soul, knowing exactly what you needed without you having to say a word.
"You." You say without a thought, it's the truth so you didn't utter any excuses and just stare at her lovingly.
She smiled, "Well, I love you too."
You froze, you look at her with furrowed eyebrows in confusion.Did she really say what you thought she did? Your heart pounded in your chest as you tried to process her words.
"What?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper, your heart pounding in your chest.
Danielle smiled softly, her eyes filled with warmth and love. "I know that look, that same look you gave me when we first met, the look you always have whenever you're with me. I know it and I love it. I love you."
Her words hit you like a wave, washing over you with a mix of surprise and joy. You could hardly believe what you were hearing, yet deep down, it felt right. It felt like everything was finally falling into place.
"You really mean that?" you asked, your voice trembling with emotion.
"Every word," she replied, her smile growing. "I've felt this way for a long time. And seeing you look at me like that... it makes me feel so lucky to have you in my life."
Tears welled up in your eyes as the reality of her confession sank in. You had always loved Danielle, but hearing her say those words out loud made your heart swell with happiness.
Realizing that you won't do anything, she builds up the courage to cup your cheeks lovingly, her warm hands holding your cold cheeks gently.
She leans closer, her eyes locked onto yours, and you can feel the warmth radiating from her. Every inch closer makes your heart race even more, anticipation and love mingling in the air around you.
As her face inches closer to yours, you can feel her breath against your skin. Time seems to slow down, every second stretching into an eternity filled with the unspoken words and emotions between you.
Finally, her lips gently brush against yours, a tender, sweet kiss that holds all the love and affection she has for you. It's soft and hesitant at first, but as you respond, the kiss deepens, conveying the feelings you both have held inside for so long.
When she pulls back, her eyes are shining with emotion, her smile as radiant as ever. "I've wanted to do that for a long time," she whispers, her voice filled with love and relief.
You smile back, your heart swelling with happiness. "Me too, Danielle. Me too."
In that moment, everything feels right. Despite the chaos and uncertainty of the world, you know that as long as you have each other, you'll be okay. Together, you can face anything, for she is your safe place, your home.
