I got a question! If you had a Harry Potter themed wedding, what is the thing that you must have? (aka two months away from my wedding and trying to make sure I covered all of my bases)

(OOC: Okay so that’s kinda a lot of pressure... so quick disclaimer, I have very little knowledge about weddings/wedding planning. I’ve only attended like 3 weddings that I can remember in my life. This ideas might be stupid or impossible just remember that before you judge me.

I have a lot so I’m gonna put them under the cut.

1) Okay so you know wedding favors? Like the things that everyone finds on their plate at the reception? (I think this is a thing) Golden snitches. If you want edible favor that chocolate balls wrapped in gold foil. Okay but instead of saying ‘I open at the close’ they say ‘name a + name b insert date here’ or ‘Mr/Mrs and Mr/Mrs insert last name and date’

2) The rice that everyone throws on the couple at the end or whatever? I don’t know if colored rice is a thing, but colored rice! It could be gold like snitches or house colors or some other harry potter themed color.

3) Slushie/ice cream/snow cone machine but with flavors that are houses. So like a blackberry lemonade would be hufflepuff, a strawberry banana would be gryffindor. Does that make sense? And the colors would reflect too if they could. 

4) Cupcakes but with quidditch goal posts on top for decoration.

5) Dancing to Hedwig’s theme, cause. yeah.

6) Idk if it’s common for weddings to have photo booths, I think the ones I’ve gone to have had something similar to one. Well photo booth props like Luna’s glasses or her lion hat. Plus like cardboard wands with cardboard cutout of light on the end (like a spell is being cast). Lightning scar cutouts and Harry’s glasses on sticks. Or broomsticks, pointy hats, speech bubbles with spell, etc.

7) Table napkins but they have a design on them, like paper towels? This could be anything, personally I like the idea of the quibbler, but it could be the prophet or the book covers or the marauders map, etc.

8) The key butterflies. I’m not quite sure how you’d use these, maybe like string them up and hang them around the reception hall or something. I just think they would be pretty.

I’m sure you’ve done this, but search harry potter wedding on pinterest and you get a bunch of great ideas. 

Personally though, I would avoid the “All this time?” “Always.” quote cause, you know.... Snape was a creep and instead use the “You’ll stay with me?” “Until the very end” quote.

Again, I don’t know how many of these are realistic or doable, but I hope you have a great day!)

Hey just wanted to tell you that I am very impressed. I can tell how into character you get I was in theater for years and not many people your age gets their character that well!!

Sometimes I get a little nervous that all my characters are just me with makeup on and they all seem the same, so this was incredible to hear.)
