all the hp text posts about 'omg no wifi at Hogwarts how would I survive?¿!!' drive me mad..like fucking hell mate you're in an amazing MAGIC school being able to do MAGIC in the scottish highlands and wifi is such a big deal 😂 like I'm gonna sound like such an old man but muggleborns started Hogwarts at 11..like that's actually pretty young and not many 11 year olds are that dependent on wifi and they'd probably be more freaked out by being away from home or idk maybe the ghosts that can literally walk through you?? I'm probably the only one but it makes me kinda annoyed cos for me Hogwarts is such an enchanting place filled with magic and mysteries which is so far removed from the real world and to see textposts saying how amazing it would be for Hogwarts to have technology and shit...like idk you don't need to try and bring that into the harry potter world, Hogwarts is in a league of it's own already chill with the wifi loving just for a bit this post isn't even gonna get notes lmao but feel free to say your opinion cos I don't get it

Yes, I do. I feel so honoured when people take their time to comment that I always reply (usually too late). But sometimes I also worry that people may think I'm not being sincere 'cause I can be very effusive in my thanks.

Hm. Does my birthday challenge fic for the Hinny Discord Server count as a crossover? I haven't uploaded it to AO3 yet, but it's inspired by the fourthe episode of the Apple TV+ series, Little America.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I don't seem to be getting anywhere with my WIPs as of lately. But I don't think I'll ever finish a post-war tale with a bit of road trip to it that I've got in my drafts since forever. I just feel like this is has been so explored, so thoroughly analysed, that I there's no need to another one to be published. The other one is a Jily Lives AU with a heavy political plot (a plot bunny I saw that I think about constantly).

What are your writing strengths?

I think I do a good job with descriptions, and I love diving into painful emotions, and those ones seen as 'bad', like jealousy, anger.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Purple prose, I'd say. Taking too much time to start editing something and losing steam. Not having enough words to say what I mean either in English or in my native language. I really struggle with characterisation too.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I like to read it. (And I get very excited when it's in a language I can understand). But for me to write it, it would feel somehow lacking, I think, unless it's a language I'm very comfortable with, or that I can count on some friends to look it over before I embarrass myself.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

McFly :)

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I think it's a tie between Walked Off You, Will This Come Back to Haunt Me? and Do Me a Favour. The first ones I'm so proud of, but Do Me a Favour was a blast to write.

Through Shadows WIP

I’ve been writing on and off for months now on a couple stories. I’ve got one I’m not ready to post in its entirety just yet, but I’m feeling the urge to share just a snippet of it right now.

The story is called Through Shadows, and it is an AU starting in the graveyard scene in GoF. This story is H/G, and I’m pretty sure it’s just about the angstiest thing I’ve ever written (and I’ve got some doozies hanging around in my WIP folder). Here’s a sort of summary:

When Harry goes missing from Privet Drive without a single personal belonging, the worst is assumed by the Order of the Phoenix and the magical community of Britain at large. Upon his rescue, everything Ginny and the others thought they knew about Harry after the maze will be called into question. Will Harry be able to heal from a traumatic ordeal that has left scars too deep to see?

This snippet comes from chapter two, Clues.

Qotd: who is your best author? I know we have lots of authors that we love and we have the ones that are special to us. I have a few authors that are dear to my heart. Zaynab Alkali, Sara Shepherd, Jenny Han, Shirley Jackson, Stephan King and a few others. @ruthwarewriter is definitely one of my best. The moment i read The Woman in Cabin 10, i fell in love with her. Then i read In A Dark Dark Wood and i was sooo impressed. And now I'm so looking forward to reading The Death of Mrs Westaway and The Lying Game. I'm sure they wouldn't disappoint. Everything about her writing style is just amazing.
