Info Dumping random thoughts/ideas about Moissanite (Y/N’s Mom)

Alright, Moissanite is an oc I made, but I’ve started loving her like she’s an actual character.

I did actual research on Moissanite for this. I don’t even do this for homework

When I looked up gem stones, Moissanite was the first thing that came up that didn’t already have Steven Universe character already. Moissanite can have a lot of different colors (mainly clear with green or yellow tints), but for this fic Moissanite is forest green color. According to google, it’s a “diamond alternative”. But we’re not here for the real Moissanite, we’re here for my Steven Universe oc.

Moissanite was the “Earth Expert” of the Crystal Gems, she’s been on Earth the longest and it shows. She acted the most human out of the CG, but that’s not saying much. She’d still get a lot of things wrong about humans. She assumes humans work like plants

—“A baby?…Isn’t Greg supposed to plant a toe or something in the ground and we wait for it to grow?” Moissanite asks, taking a ball from Amethyst and throwing it across the beach. Rose giggles, “I know that’s how you thought it works, but you actually wrong. The real way it works it much better~” She says, giggling more than before. “…What?”

Moissanite formed on Earth to help with terraforming the planet for the Diamond Empire. Moissanites are pretty much the earth versions of Lapis Lazulis. Instead of controlling water, they control plants. Hence why the Temple/the beach house automatically has a greenhouse at the beginning of the story and not until SU Future. The greenhouse used to be where Moissanite created armies out of living plants (plants vs zombies style).

Steven is 2 months older than Y/N, so Moissanite did get to meet him before she gave up her physical form to have Y/N. Mossanite’s main reason for even having Y/N was [REDACTED]. Moissanite preplanned Steven and Y/N’s relationship. No matter what they were going to friends, they have no choice in the matter.

—“Oh, man…it’s not going to be much longer until you’re gone too, huh?” Greg mutters sadly Moissanite rocks Steven in her arms, “Yep, very soon. Steven will have a best friend.” She says. “You really think they’re going to be best friends?” Greg asks “They don’t have a choice. My kid is gonna end up being your son-in-law or daughter-in-law.” Moissanite state, Greg looks at her dumbfounded, “But what if they don’t like-” “Then I’m coming back from the dead.” She says firmly, Greg stares at her wordlessly, Steven giggles, “Can…can you come back even after you give up your form?” Greg asks, glancing at Steven nervously, “I have no idea, but I’ll sure as hell try.” Moissanite says.

Technically, Moissanite is aromantic, everything she’s ever loved she’s only loved platonically. Hence why no one really ever has anything to say about Orion (Y/N’s Dad). Moissanite just randomly showed up pregnant 2 months after Rose and made it everyone’s problem. (Orion will be explained more at another time)

Moissanite specifically begged asked Garnet to take up the mother role in Y/N’s life. Which is why Garnet tries to act more like a parent to Y/N than she does with Steven. Garnet was the one taking care of baby Y/N, though she often left her with Greg and baby Steven, poor Greg.

And that’s all I got for Moissanite for now. There’s more lore, but some of it I can’t explain until later

Scene Idea for Alone Together

Steven and Y/N’s fusion name is hidden for now. Also, I haven’t watched Alone Together in a while. This scene might change when I actually rewatch the episode, but the general vibe won’t.

90% of the reason I’m writing this fic is because I keep coming up with scenes like this in my head.

___ looks are the room, tightly clenching their fists. The lights are too bright, the music is too loud, the people are too close and they’re…they’re all alone. ___ frowns in concern as they struggle to take deep breaths, “H-hey, what’s wrong? Talk to me.” ___ mutters. Their hand twitches and they grip their shirt, “It’s ok. Listen, you’re ok, I’m here—no you’re not.” ___ snaps sharply, leaning against the wall. Half of them hoped they would simply faze though it and be done with this party, “You’re not here. I’m not here. We are not here. ___ is here. I can….I can sense you, but I can’t see you…I can’t even hug you or hold your hand for emotional support. It was fine before, but now there so much going on everywhere and so many people, and I—” ___’s eye widen, they clasp their hands together, “You’re scared.” They finish for…themselves.

“I’m…sorry. I know how much you wanted to do this—no, no. Don’t apologize. I…I don’t want you to think you have to apologize for being honest,” ___ says, their breathing calms as the worry part of them is willingly pushed to the back of their shared mind. ___ glances around at the party surrounding them. Their worried part of them is right, everything is too much, ___ takes a deep breath, they can’t help the sympathetic smile on their face “Now that I know this is how parties feel to you, I definitely drag you to one of these ever again.” They say gently, ___ removes themselves from the wall, they keep their hand firmly wrapped around each other. “Hey. Let’s go home. Some fresh air and quiet will make you feel better.” ___ says quietly, making their way to the exit. Or at least they were until a sudden hand latches onto their wrist. ___ flinches in surprise, turning to lock eyes with whoever grabbed them.

“Hold on, baby. Where are you going~”

I can’t believe Alone Together is a decade old. I remember watching it when it came out, am I old now??? Steven Universe itself is almost 12 years old?!

Random Scene Idea I Had for “The Test”

This scene keeps playing in my head, I’m writing it down so I don’t lose it.

A heavy sigh shakes my body, I frown as I look down at the Gems. I slowly look at Steven, he looks down with an expression I can’t read. “Steven…” I start, he glances at me for a second “We shouldn’t have to pretend-” “Please, Y/N. If we tell them the truth, it’ll just make them feel worse about themselves,” Steven says, a pleading look in his eyes, “It’s not their fault they don’t know what they’re doing:l. They didn’t…they didn’t ask for this.” We both look down at the Gems. They’re still waiting for us with concern expression, “Neither did we…” I sigh. Steven says nothing and we stand there in silence.

This whole thing was meant to make us feel better…but I feel worse now than I did before we start.

My shoulders slump in defeat, “Alright, Steven,” I sigh bitterly “You know I don’t have the heart to say no to you. Let’s give the Gems a show, and finish this the way they want us to.” Steven cracks a smile that doesn’t reaches his eyes. “Yeah, let’s do it.” He says, holding out a hand to me. I take his hand and we head back to the very start of the Gems’ big “test” for us.

I feel like this really was the start of Steven overlooking how he feels for others.

This is also where I plan on having Y/N really start doubting the Gems more than she did before. I’m writing her to be shy and a bit of a pushover for Steven (and everyone else) at the start, but she’s the one who’s going to build a bond with Lapis and after that she’s going to look at the Gems and questions if they’re really the good guys.

Yep! Connie’s going to show up.

At the time of answering this, I’m currently writing Bubble Buddies.

She won’t be Steven’s love interest anymore, but she’ll still be a part of the story and the friend group. (Peedee will also be showing up more too because he’s my favorite of the side characters along with the Pizza Family)
