The How to Train Your Dragon Dragons are highly stylized. In fact, they're cartoony stylized. I know that sounds like an obvious statement, but I realized this last night. While I love the style, and can decently draw the dragons, the style doesn't fit with the one I aspire to do. So, as a result, I had to start creating redesign concepts for the httyd dragons. Trying to keep some of their defining features and scaling down so the style portrayed is a little more...realistix. I started with a Scauldron, and a stormcutter. These are just sketches. I'm debating doing sheets for each species redesign once I've done more sketches. Expect to see more of these in the coming days! Did you know I have a art discord?
