Generally, babies or toddlers have a short attention span. However, there are ways to get your child to focus/concentrate in their flashcard lessons. We do have questions from parents asking this question. So we have created a video on this topic and we would like to share it with you. It does not matter if you are using the right brain education method, Shichida Method, Heguru Method or Glenn Doman Method.

Nasze ostatnie hity w czytaniu globalnym w języku polskim i angielskim. Moja 2,5-latka zaczęła demonstrować "Ruszam pupą." Zresztą napisałam to, bo pojedyncze słowo "pupa" ją zainteresowało. Pytała czemu "trudno jest stać na jednej nodze." Ma taki etap, że to ćwiczy, więc ta karta jest jak najbardziej zgodna z jej zainteresowaniami. Pozostałe słowa z własnej inicjatywy powtórzyła po spojrzeniu na kartę. Wzięłam je z jej najnowszych książek. These are the words and phrases which 30-month-old Maja found the most interesting in her reading program in Polish and in English. She repeated all the English words on her own initiative. I took them from her newest books. She was curious about the sentence in green which says that it's difficult to stand on one leg. This is what she has been practising for some time now. She demonstrated the sentence in red which says "I'm moving my botty." Before she expressed great interested in a single word "botty" in Polish (pupa). #czytanieglobalne #metodadomana #domanmethod #kartydoczytania #readingcards #reading📖 #jaknauczycdzieckoczytać #howtoteachyourbabytoread #teachingreading #naukaczytania #jezykiobce #jezykiodurodzenia #languages #learninglanguages https://www.instagram.com/p/BpJ4ufyjSZU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=hdmxg19m6fs1

Harassed Mom New to Blogging
Blogging is a new thing to me.
I have tried keeping paper diaries and journals since young. The attempts never lasted long. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep this blog going so please encourage me with your questions and comments. I can’t guarantee if I’ll answer because…
I am a 44-year-old SAHM who has 2 children. At the time of writing, my daughter is 3 years and 3 months old. My son is 3.5 months old. I am on maternity leave from my part-time job which I executed from home. I have no domestic helper and I don’t live with my parents / in-laws. Lunch and dinner are tingkat meals. Cleaning is done by a part-time cleaner once a week.
Having children at 44 is no joke. Alright, having children at any age is no laughing matter. But having a child when you are 40 reveals how much energy you have, or in my case, don’t have.
So on top of preparing Daughter’s meals (which doesn’t come with the tingkat), preparing breakfast (anyone heard of tingkat breakfast at 7am yet, please tell me), heating up the tingkat meals, doing endless laundry, nursing Son, putting Son to sleep umpteen times a day because he can’t consolidate his naps, playing with Daughter ten different games in as many minutes, cleaning up Daughter’s mess and other general mess, getting up in the wee hours of the night bleary-eyed to put the pacifier in Son’s mouth for the nth time etc. does one still have time for the Glenn Doman programme?
No and yes.
No because I would rather steal a few more minutes of sleep than get the word cards and encyclopaedic material ready each day.
Yes because I know it’s doing something long-lasting for them.
Daughter is some proof of it.
Things gradually and inevitably settled after Daughter was born. I looked at the stored Glenn Doman boxes from time to time and thought to myself, “Nah, she’s just a baby”.
So I started with the black shapes when Daughter was about 6 months old. And I felt stupid. The thought, “She’s only 6 months old!” kept flashing through my mind. I gave up after a while.
Yet, the boxes of cards weighed heavily (pun intended) on my mind. The book clearly states “How To Teach Your Baby to Read”! Not “How To Teach Your Toddler / Child / Four-Year-Old To Read”. Furthermore, the box illustration shows a baby reading. After some googling, I decided to hit the books.
Once I had read the Glenn Doman books – I am a speed reader and yet with motherhood, it took me forever to complete – I started Daughter on the reading programme.
Hesitatingly.
Doubtfully.
Suspiciously.
Daughter was already 1.5 years old then.
When we started, we started with words relating to “Family” – like father, mother, uncle, cousin etc. Yet she would not focus. That did nothing for my confidence. Then I hit on an idea. I decided to show her pictures of these people whom she knew and loved.
So I showed her pictures of her cousins, grandma, grandpa and said, “Cousin”, “Grandmother”, “Grandfather”. Bingo. That got her hooked.
After a while, I dropped the pictures, and just showed her the words.
I worked through the various categories of cards, using the method taught in the book. Introduce 5 new words first. I showed them 3 times a day. (The book said 3 times in 1 session, and to do 2 sessions a day, but I (and not Daughter) could not manage 2 sessions a day.) On Day 6, replace one of the cards, with a new card. On Day 7, replace another old card with a new card and so on.
We started with words that were familiar to her first. Family. Food. Her environment.
No testing.
Only when she was in a good mood, which generally, she always was.
Effusive praise for sitting through a session.

Z relacji teściowej te karty to dzisiejsze hity w czytaniu globalnym w języku polskim. Może was do czegoś zainspirują nasze karty. Dzisiaj polski, ale tak naprawdę działamy w 3 językach, bo jeszcze dochodzi angielski i włoski. Czarny marker już się wypisał. Po zdjęciach widzę, że niebieski też na wykończeniu. My mother-in-law told me these two cards were the most interesting out of 10-15 she presented to Maja. She is helping my husband with the reading program in the Polish language. She didn't know what "early bird" meant and she asked about it. When it comes to "botty" it's obvious 😂 I will show you the most interesting words, phrases and sentences from the point of view of my daughter. Maybe some cards will inspire you. A two-year-old is not always interested. We are doing Glenn Doman's reading program in three languages: Polish, English and Italian. I see my blue marker is running out. The black one I used earlier is already gone. #czytanieglobalne #metodadomana #readingprogram #howtoteachyourbabytoread #jaknauczycdzieckoczytać #naukaczytania #learningtoread #domanmethod #domanmum #jakuczyc #howtoteach https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo4LfsXBvPX/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1gfr4zsnaznhl

Zmywalny marker i płytki, czyli pomysł na zabawę w czytanie globalne. Maja, która ostatnio wymyśliła sobie zabawę na zmywalnych kartach ze słowami z języku polskim przeniosła to na płytkach na język angielski. Zmazuje kolejno litery i nas testuje jak odczytamy pozostała część wyrazu. Washable marker and kitchen tiles -an idea for making our reading program more attractive. During one presentation in the Polish language she invented a game: erasing one letter after another and asking her grandma or dad to read the remaining part. She did it with washable cards and she transferred it into English with words on the floor. #metodadomana #domanmethod #domanmom #domanowanie #czytanieglobalne #uczymyodurodzenia #learningenglish #learningsincebirth #naukaczytania #readingcards #reading📖 #readingprogram #czytanie #jaknauczycdzieckoczytać #howtoteachyourbabytoread #zabawairozwój #zabawainauka #zabawawczytanie #learnandplay #readinggames https://www.instagram.com/p/BojSrQQh5aD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1wqvq4l516hrt

The speed is a key to success with the Doman method. Glenn Doman suggests 1 second per card. According to Makoto Shichida 0,5 second per card is the best for stimulating the right brain hemisphere. I hope to beat my 1,3 per card which you can see in the video in one of the previous posts (first session of reading in Italian). I have these gel fingertip grips from the USA thanks to one of the readers of my blog. One of the English-speaking Doman mums recommended them on her blog. #glenndoman #metodadomana #czytanieglobalne #czytaniemetodadomana #naukaczytania #uczymyodurodzenia #metodashichidy #metodaheguru #teachyourbaby #domanmethod #domanowanie #shichidamethod #hegurumethod #teaching #howtoteachyourbabytoread #jaknauczycdzieckoczytać #jaknauczyćmałedzieckoczytać #edukacjadomowa #rozwoj #jakuczyc #homeschooling #rightbrain #prawapółkula #edukacja https://www.instagram.com/p/BoJu5HiBptD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=17vt2mkl62ugb
