THE SOAP THAT IS THE PACKAGING

One problem that we can not oversee is the plastic waste and foot print we leave behind ourselves. One of the industries that impact this is Cosmetic packaging. Designers are looking out to see if they can find solutions to this never ending problem. Designer, Mi Zhou, has approached the issue with a solution. We introduce to you the Soapack. A soap and package mashed together to create the ultimate soap product. The final form is molded by pouring the vegetable oil-based soap. On the inside there is a coating made out of Beeswax that prevents the liquid soap from interacting with the liquid. As a result the Soapack comes out in great colors and looks better than anything else out there. The end product gives you a hard soap exterior bottle and a pour-able liquid soap on the inside. You can place the Soapack bottles on cabinets, or even in a soap tray, and use them as you go. The main goal of its perfume-bottle-inspired forms and a glass-like wall-thickness, was to make these soaps more appealing look more appealing than traditional liquid soap and shampoo bottles made from plastic. The object was to create something so beautiful that users bought them and cherished them, eventually opting for a more sustainable lifestyle in the process. The bottles come with soap stoppers too, mimicking antique perfume designs, and are devoid of any label, barring a single tag that hangs from the bottle’s neck… and guess what, that’s made from soap too!
