#inktober2018 off to a good start. Day 1: Poisonous. (India ink on Bristol paper) Pokeweed used to run rampant in the backyard when I was a kid. The long vines hosted beautiful purple berries that I would mash into ink and doodle with, using a pointy stick as a pen nib. Thank God I never felt tempted to snack on them, as ALL PARTS OF THIS PLANT ARE POISONOUS TO HUMANS. (With the strongest toxicity being found in the rootstock and leaves) But even though Phytolacca Americana is toxic, I had the right idea with using it for art.
