Warnings: SMUT!!, MDNI!!, scissoring (if ur mad Iâm doing another scissoring ficâŚ.idk what to tell you itâs hot), messy kissing, Ellie bites reader (outside of blood sucking), mentions of marking, mentions of bruises, mentions of blood, Ellie is kind of insufferable for a small bit but I promise it gets better, please lmk if I missed anything!
Read part 1 here!!
Ellie knew it was a bad idea from the very beginning.
She knew that she was too weak for you, even outside of sucking your blood. You were too fucking good for her, too much of a dream for Ellie to go and fuck up like she did.
Truth be told, Ellie expected all of it. She expected to get utterly addicted to you, she expected the blurred lines of your relationship to become even more blurred when she began sucking you dry of your life source, she even expected herself to lose control when she was in the act, humping and grinding your soft body like a wild fucking animal as if she had no control over herself.
She expected all of it, every single aspect that came with the territory, she knew was coming.
But the hardest part of it all? Was leaving you completely.
Because she knew the moment she felt herself lose control while she was on top of you that night in your apartment, she knew she needed to leave you. She needed to abandon you and your friendship for the greater good, for your sake.
Ellie knew that she wasnât good for you, and you werenât good for her. But that didnât make the pain of not seeing you any less.
She thought sheâd be able to do it at first, but the texts from you only reminded her of how much she loved your company, how obsessed she was with simply being around you.
She wound frown every time her phone went off, a low groan leaving her lips when she lifted it up to look at her screen, only to see it was from you.
Ellieeeeee
Where are you?
Havenât seen u in the longest :((
Ellie can practically hear your pout in the way you text her. She knows you too well, and she knows that you arenât handling her sudden disappearance well.
At this point, itâs been about two months since Ellie has seen you last? Maybe three? She stopped keeping count because it was driving her insane. It wasnât even the blood supply that she missed, Ellie would go hungry ten times over, dying from starvation if it meant she could be around you without feeling she was robbing you of your life, ruining things that you were meant to experience because she was too fucking selfish.
Ellie misses you, and it pains her that she hasnât been able to have you in so long.
WellâŚnot entirely at least. She knew sheâd lose her mind entirely if she couldnât at least be around you for a few moments, so her usual nighttime visits become a bit more frequent when she decides she canât be around you anymore. Sheâs a lot more careful when she does it though, knowing how sensitive you were to her presence. It was almost unbelievable how easily youâd woken up to her in your room in the past. She doesnât know how sheâd explain things if you woke up now, not having seen her in so long. So sheâs extra aware of how much noise she makes.
Seeing you sleep is almost enough to keep Ellieâs demons at bay, the ones that screamed for you, yearned for you to be by her side, to have your warm skin pressed against her much colder one.
As per usual, sheâs scaling up the brick wall of your apartment building, making her way up to your bedroom like thief in the night. You continue to leave your window open every night, and it breaks Ellieâs heart because she knows youâre doing it for her, most likely hoping she slips into your window as she usually does.
It means Ellie needs to be even more careful than she anticipated.
She doesnât even dare to sit on your bed, standing in the corner of your room as she watches your chest rise and fall. She doesnât even breathe, scared that the sound of it will wake you.
And she desperately wants to reach out and let her fingers run along your soft skin, desperate for the feeling that you always brought her when youâre near. It makes her fists balk at her sides as she practically itches to feel you, fighting back any and every thought that she had to touch you, if even for a moment.
But she doesnât. Instead, he stays with you just before the sun rises. She knows itâs risky, and she knows she shouldnât do it in the event that you wake up and see her. Even if sheâs fast enough to dart out of your room before you can even call her name or turn the lights on, youâre too smart for that. Youâd know what was happening before she can even begin to gaslight you into thinking it was simply a dream.
She canât help herself, not when it comes to you. Seeing you sleep satisfies the burning feeling in her chest, the one that yearns so desperately for you, itâs enough to make her knees weak. Itâs almost like youâre capable of evoking the same feelings she had when she was a human, when she was weak and stupid and felt nervous around women. Until you showed up, Ellie hadnât experienced those feelings in a long time, sheâd almost forgotten about them.
You always remind her though.
Like when sheâs about to leave you, knowing sheâs cutting it too close to the time youâre going to wake up and start your day. Her footsteps are practically silence, even against the old, creaky floorboards of your apartment.
Sheâs almost out of your window, one leg outside as she plants her foot against the fire escape when she hears it. You began mumbling in your sleep, tossing a bit, clearly bothered by whatever dream you were having. While this shouldâve been the clearest sign for Ellie to leave as quickly as possible before your eyes opened a bit to see her, she doesnât. Instead, she stays sat on your window sill, simply watching as you turn to face her, eyes still closed as you pout in your sleep.
If Ellie had a heart that was still beating, sheâs sure it wouldâve stopped. Because suddenly your mumbling is just clear enough for her to hear.
âEllieâŚ.â You sigh out softly, barely loud enough for the undead girl to hear, but she does. Regardless of the city waking up below her, or the sound of your ceiling fan creaking about, she hears it. It makes her frown deeply, swallowing back the intense whimper that threatens to escape and echo throughout your room.
She isnât sure if sheâs ever left your room so quickly, the girls eyes going wide as she made the familiar path down the side of your building to your side walk.
Even when she got home that night, the vampire practically breaking the front door down of her apartment to get in, she couldnât get the sound of your voice uttering her name so sweetly, calling out for her even in the depths of sleep that you were in, tugged so deeply by your dreams, you were still calling out for her.
Ellie knew that night, that she had to stay away from her. For both your sake, and her own.
And sheâs right, because you were suffering just as much as Ellie was.
Ellieâs presence was always scarce, and while it bothered you a bit before you learned what she was, it made sense. She was a creature of the night, something that seemingly only existed in storybooks, coming to life and living the strange lifestyle that she did.
But you knew immediately that this was different.
The morning after you saw Ellie last left a bitter taste in your mouth. As you woke up that morning, your neck sore with the bruises of Ellieâs lips on your skin, body far too drained and tired even after a night of a sleep that was just a bit too deep. It was similar to almost all the times Ellie had drank from you the night prior.
So, why did you feel so bad that morning?
You knew that you didnât owe Ellie anything, that you were the one to suggest this in the first place, so there truly wasnât any room for you to be upset for reasons unknown. What were you even supposed to say to her? That you had a weird feeling? One that you desperately wanted her to relieve by telling you it was all okay?
As much as you wanted to, you knew things between you and Ellie werenât like that.
You were her friend. You were just her friend, and as much as you wanted more, you knew deep down that if Ellie truly wanted you that way, she wouldâve made you sheâs a long time ago.
And maybe thatâs what bothers you the most when this little dry spell occurs, because the sudden lack of her presence leaves you entirely too much time to dwell on things, wondering what it was that you did wrong, what you could have possibly said to create this sudden rift between the two of you.
Ellie had always been flirtatious, flashing that pretty smile in your direction that made you weak in the knees, calling you sweet names that made your heart beat faster. She was practically dangling it all right in front of your face, the frequent touches, the late night visits at the foot of your bed, all this time when you have her the benefit of the doubt, chalking it all up to her simply wanting to see you and nothing more than that, suddenly made no sense to you.
With time came confusion, and with confusion came anger, desperate to understand why she left you, what you had done to possibly make her so scarce so suddenly. And once the third month had hit without seeing Ellie, you were furious, feeling as though you had one choice and one choice only.
To find Ellie, and get the answers from her yourself.
You donât go to Ellieâs apartment, not usually at least.
Ellie always told you she liked hanging out at your place, going on and on about how warm and cozy it was being there. Sheâd never admit it to you because she didnât want you to think she was a freak, but being in a place that smelled so heavily like you made her brain go absolutely insane.
Youâve been there maybe a handful of times, sometimes heading to her place after a night out, or even stopping by whenever you were in the neighborhood. Bottom line was, your apartment was the designated hang out spot for you and Ellie.
Regardless though, you remember how to get there like itâs written on the back of your hand. You thought about Ellieâs apartment a lot, loving how much the space reflected her. You always wished you had the chance to stay there more often.
You canât think about that though, not now. Not when youâre storming down the expensive halls of her complex down to her door, and landing a heavy fist on the door. All you can truly care about now, is seeing Ellie and demanding an explanation for her sudden disappearance.
And itâs all so unlike you, so out of your character. If it was anyone else, youâd let it go, giving yourself a few days to sulk before forgetting about it all together and simply moving on. Maybe itâs because itâs Ellie, and maybe itâs because you feel a tad bit used after being her personal buffet for the last few times youâd been around her, just for her to up and leave.
Itâs most definitely that. You just donât want to admit it in fears of sounding selfish.
You land another firm knock on her door when she doesnât answer in time, feeling yourself grow angrier as the moments pass.
Soon, sheâs finally opening the door. The image of her nearly takes your breath away.
Because Ellie always looks beautiful, perhaps itâs the fact that you havenât seen her in some time, but she looks fucking ethereal standing before you. So tall, so confident, her eyes so fucking dark, piercing through your very soul as she stares down at you. Her lips look like rubies compared to her cold, pale skin, so plump and kissable.
All you can think about is the way they felt pressed against your throat, and it makes you lift your hand to press against the two small circular scars on your neck.
Ellie frowns deeply as she eyes you, eyebrows furrowed and expression virtually unreadable.
âWhat are you doing hereâ she mumbles out, shifting on her feet awkwardly. Her question alone sets the fire off in your chest again, making you seethe as you take a deep inhale before responding.
âAre you kidding me Ellie?â You practically spit out, staring up at the girl in disbelief.
She lets out a soft sigh, her tattooed hand coming up to rub her face roughly before it moves up to rub through her hair.
âI donât know what youâre talking aboutâ she manages before she tries shutting her door in your face. âYou canât be hereâ she mumbles out softly, the girl fully expecting to be able to shut the door.
You however, have other plans.
Youâre quick to press your hand against the door, stopping her from closing it before you practically force yourself between it. Ellieâs eyes widen a bit at this, not used to seeing you so forward.
Soon, youâre pushing yourself into her apartment, your palm pressing against your forehead as you began pacing back and forth Ellieâs lavish apartment.
âI donâtâŚI donât understand you Ellie. Is it something I said? Did I do something? If so please enlighten me I beg youâ you blurt out, all of the words fumbling out of your mouth in one breath.
Ellie frowns deeply as she watches you pace back and forth her apartment, her eyebrows furrowed. She can truly see the damaged shes caused when she sees you like this, because it was much easier to watch you when you slept, so peaceful and unaware of the troubles that came with her absence. She knew you were going to blame yourself, and as much as she knew she couldnât allow you to do that to yourself, she knew staying away was even more important.
Seeing you like this was possibly the hardest thing Ellie had to ever endure.
You donât stop there, taking advantage of the lack of a response from Ellie to continue ranting.
âIs it because of the blood thing? If so Iâm sorry. I am so fucking sorry for simply caring enough to make sure you didnât die from starvation or whatever it is that happens to you when you donât eat. Iâm sorry for making sure that you were okay, if that was so wrong please tell meâŚâ your words trail off as you let out an exasperated sigh, your feelings and emotions becoming far too much as you practically sob out to her.
But then youâre pausing, your chest rising and falling quickly as you struggle to catch your breath. Ellie isnât entirely sure why youâve suddenly stopped, your back towards her as you stand there, doing god knows what.
When you finally turn around, your eyes are red and your cheeks are wet with tears.
âWere you justâŚ.using me? As your personal fucking blood bag?â Your words are shaky as you hold back another sob, your fists balled down at your sides.
Ellie freezes when you say this, because this is exactly what she was fucking afraid of.
It was a common theme throughoutâŚher people. Vampires were notoriously alluring, seducing countless innocent and clueless victims into being their personal meal. The humans were almost always oblivious to what was being done to them, vampires often times using this to their advantage to keep them under their spell for as long as possible. It would most commonly been done in a way that made the humans believe the vampires loved them, dangling them by a thread as they promised them a life of eternity together, to live in immortality, side by side until the end of times. It almost never ended that way though, the vampires would suck and suck and suck until one day they went a bit too far, and their obedient human keeled over and died.
Ellie never wanted things to be that way with you.
She never even wanted you to think it was that way. She wanted you to understand that this was entirely up to you, and it could stop whenever you wanted it to. Itâs why she constantly voiced to you that this was still a factor right before she fed off of you. Ellie would rather die than use you for a source of food, because truthfully you were far too good for that, too fucking pure to be used as something as low as a food source.
So when the words leave your lips, Ellie sees red.
Shes in front of you in less than a second, towering over you and staring down into your tear soaked eyes. Her nostrils are flared as she tries to hold back from tearing down her entire apartment complex around the both of you.
âYou canât possibly be stupid enough to think Iâd ever use you for something so low..â her voice is low, and thereâs a gravel in it that makes your core tighten and your chest bloom with something you canât quite place, a feeling that can only be shelved in your mind right next to where Ellie takes place.
You donât hack one, hot tears continuing to spill from your eyes as you stare at her with furrowed eyebrows.
âIt makes senseâŚ.get your fix and then leave me like Iâm nothingâŚthis was probably your plan all alongâ you grit out.
Ellie licks her lips, knowing that youâre hurting just as much as she is, and your words are simply coming from a place of confusion, desperate to understand why she did what she did to you, why she left without a trace.
She leans in, her face a mere inches from yours. You can smell her minty breath wafting onto your face, and itâs bizarre because even that has a slight chill to it. It makes your cheeks cold, and it makes you want to reach out and warm her up.
âI would rather die a million deaths before using you for thatâŚyou and I both know thisâ she seethes out.
And it makes you whimper, because Ellieâs always been so fucking intense, so poetic. It makes your insides flip upside down, and your eyebrows knit together as you struggle to hold back a whimper.
Your features soften as you continue to cry in front of her. âThen why did you leave meâŚâ you whisper out to the girl.
It breaks her heart how desperate you are for this. Not even for her, but simply for answers. All you want is to understand why she left, what you did to make her abruptly disappear without a single word.
Ellieâs eyes flutter shut for a moment, her pink tongue darting out to lick her plush lips before she finally speaks.
âIâve neverâŚbeen so weak for someoneâŚin my entire lifeâ she breaths out.
It surely isnât what youâre expecting her to say. You think sheâs going to say sheâs gotten enough of you, or she just couldnât handle having someone like you around. Hell, you were even beginning to think she was trying to cover up all her roots here and start somewhere else.
âI always have beenâŚfrom the moment I fucking laid eyes on you, I knew you werenât good for meâŚyouâre too good for meâ she continues, her eyes fluttering open as she finally stares down into yours. You can finally look into yours as you blink away the tears that are pooling in your eyes and blurring your vision, and it allows you to see the pain in her eyes, just how much sheâd been struggling with all of this.
âIt isnât even your bloodâŚit made it worse, yesâŚbut just being around you is likeâŚitâs like a fucking drug to me. You give me this feeling that I canâtâŚI canât even begin to describe how fucking euphoric you make me feelâ each of her words sounds like a plea, a plea for you to let her go, to unhand her from the death grip you have on her.
âAnd suddenly Iâm always in your apartment, and youâre offering yourself to me and itâs like a dream come true and I feel like a fucking monster when Iâm on top of you, sucking you dry of your fucking bloodâ itâs her turn to start pacing, running her hands through her hair as she settles one of her hands on her hip, she moves slower than you were, simply voicing the struggles sheâs seemed to have with you from the moment you met.
She finally turns towards you, and sheâs slowing make her way to where youâve been standing this entire time. When sheâs right back where she was, stood right in front of you, she takes your hand into hers ever so gently. Itâs enough to make you flinch, how cold she is in contrast to your hot skin. She sighs, bringing your hand up to cradle her cheek, and her eyes flutter shut, nearly rolling back as she presses a soft kiss to your palm.
âIâm not strong enough for youâŚI donât think I ever will beâ she finally admits, and itâs like sheâs not only admitting it to you, but to herself as well.
You hold back a whine as she kisses your palm, her lips so soft, so gentle with you.
âThenâŚthen donât beâŚwhy canât you just let things happenâ you sigh out as you stare up at her, in awe as the girl leaned into your touch as if it were her life line.
You arenât even entirely sure what youâre asking her for, what this so called âthingâ is that she wonât let happen. Is it the feeding youâre alluding to? An act of true platonic kindness? Or are you asking for more, are you begging for something that Ellie has deprived you both of for the sake of the greater good?
Both you and Ellie have these same questions running through your minds.
She chuckles dryly against your skin, shaking her head as her hand gives your wrists a gentle squeeze.
âYou arenât even sure what it is youâre asking forâŚnot from someone like meâ she admits, eyes opening as she finally looks down at you again.
âI canâtâŚgive you the things you deserve. Iâm not capable of being the perfect person for you, not when I am what I amâ her words are like venom on her tongue, the girl utterly disgusted with the monster that she became against her own will, the hell that she was forced to live over and over again with no foreseeable end.
âThe only thing I can do, is take from youâŚI take and take and takeâŚ.â Her words trail off, a soft frown on her lips before she finally looks at you once again.
âUntil Iâve taken everything that you haveâŚand there is no more of you to offerâ she whispers out, as if the mere thought of a world without you pains her so much to say, she barely wants to say it.
You lick your lips, your eyes searching hers before you quickly shake your head.
âDo you want me? The same way that I want you?â You question carefully, fearful of what it is that she might say, worried that youâd been reading things entirely wrong, even after Ellie basically confessed how utterly obsessed she is with you.
She smirks softly, humming lowly as she gently brings your hand down to her lips, pressing another gentle kiss to it.
âItâs like Iâve waited my entire life for you, babyâŚ.saying that I want you would be an understatementâ she chuckles out softly.
And you arenât entirely sure how it even gets to this point, because you marched over to Ellieâs apartment with a purpose, that purpose being to yell at her and get the answers you deserved. But suddenly youâre standing in front of her, and your heart is exploding with so many different emotions and feelings, all of them for Ellie, and sheâs just confessed to you that she wants you like you want her.
And you have no choice, but to kiss her.
It catches Ellie off guard, a soft whine leaving her lips as accepts your lips with gratitude, her arms moving down to drape along your waist as she pulls you closer.
Itâs everything sheâs ever dreamt it would be. Your lips soft and sweet against her own, your skin so warm and inviting, making her drink you up, fueling her with the warmth sheâs lacked since the day she died. But despite how good it feels, she knows this is wrong, and it goes against everything she said sheâd do for your sake.
Ellie breaks way first, watching as you struggle to catch your breath from the intense kiss. Sheâs quick to stop you from leaning in again, her hand cupping your face as she stares into your eyes.
âAngelâŚwe canâtâŚI told you, Iâm no good for youâ she sighs out, the words paining her to even say.
You give her a soft pout, your arms wrapping around her shoulders loosely as you press your warm body against hers.
âI trust you EllieâŚ.I know that youâd never hurt meâ you sigh out softly as you stare into her eyes, your hand coming up to tuck a strand of her soft hair behind her ear.
âWe donât have to do the blood thingâŚbut I justâŚcanât we just give us a try?â Your eyes are wide as you speak, eager to feel Ellieâs lips against yours again, even if for a moment. You donât even take into consideration that she could say no, that she could turn you around and throw you out of her apartment without another word, doubling down on what she said sheâd do with you.
But as Ellie said before, sheâs just too fucking weak for you.
And hearing you ask for it, ask for her, it has her stomach in knots, and she feels like no matter what it is you ask her, she couldnât possibly say no to you.
âWhat are you doing to meâŚâ she sighs softly before she leans in to kiss you again, reciprocating the passion and heat that you gave her mere moments ago. You whine against her, your hands sliding back to tug at her hair, keeping her close as your lips moves against hers, your warm tongue sliding against hers.
âMissed you so muchâŚâ you sigh against her, and it makes Ellie groan softly as she nods, hands sliding down to grip your waist as she walks you back towards her bedroom, lips never leaving yours.
âMissed you more than anything, angelâ she mumbles against your lips as she presses her palm against her bedroom door behind you, pushing it open and leading you further inside.
Ellieâs bedroom smells like her. Itâs dark, and cold but oh so comforting. You practically sigh against her lips when you feel her laying your body down against her black silk sheets, the expensive material like butter on your skin. It makes your senses go in overdrive, Ellieâs hands caressing your skin, roaming around your body as her tongue rubs against yours in a dirty, passionate kiss.
âDonât know how long Iâve waited to have you like thisâŚâ she sighs softly, her lips breaking away from yours to kiss along your jaw, down to your throat. You donât miss the way Ellie kisses the now faded marks of her teeth on your neck, licking the skin softly before she sucks into it, sure to leave dark marks in the morning.
âMissed marking you up babyâŚ.â She hums against you, drinking in the sweet moans that leave your mouth, the sound alone like music to her ears.
Your mind is fuzzy, almost blank besides the thoughts of Ellie that stood in the forefront of your brain. It was like she was filling you up entirely, making you almost overwhelmed with her. Her scent, her cold skin, her soft hands, all of it was almost too much, a combination of sensory overload that kissed your skin so deliciously.
Soon sheâs kissing down your body, practically worshiping her as her lips work on your soft skin. Her hands are pushing up your t-shirt, kissing your stomach and your ribcage until sheâs tugging you up a bit to skillfully slip your shirt over your head. Youâre bare before her, her lips matching onto your pebbled nipples as her tattooed hands work on your soft shorts, tugging them down your legs.
You donât miss the way her tongue swirls around your nipple before letting go with a pop, lips moving up to nip at your collar bone with her flat teeth. Hard enough to leave a mark, but gentle enough to not break skin.
You giggle softly, bending your legs back to help as she tugs your shorts and panties off. Sheâs slotting herself between your legs, humming softly as she gives you a smirk.
âSomething funny baby?â She questions before leaning in to press another kiss to the corner of your lips. You nod, a dreamy smile on your lips as you bring your hand down to tug at the hem of Ellieâs t-shirt.
âSeems like old habits never die, thatâs allâŚ.need this offâ you huff out softly, fingers fumbling between the hem of her t shirt and the waistband of her sweats.
Ellie chuckles at how eager you are before she nods, pulling back to tug her shirt off before she rolls over a bit to pull off her sweats and underwear as well before she makes her way back between your legs, towering over you as she crawls into you like a predator would its prey.
And it leaves your pussy soaking wet, because itâs better than you couldâve ever imagined. Ellieâs tits are pebbled similarly to yours, tattoos littering her pretty skin, muscles so beautiful they could make your mouth fucking water.
Youâd always seen Ellie for the beauty she possessedâŚbut this? This was so much more different.
It made your head fucking spin.
You whined softly as you practically tug her into her by her shoulders, moaning softly at the feeling of her boobs squishing against yours as your mouth attacks her in a needy kiss.
âWant youâŚâ you sigh softly against her as your hand slides down between the both of you, cupping her pussy. You feel Ellie suck in a sharp breath at the feeling of your warm fingers against her sopping wet core, and she gives you an eager nod before rolling over, her strong hands gripping your thighs and taking you with her as she forces you to straddle her.
Being on top of Ellie is just as good as being under her, almost better in all honesty. The lighting in her bedroom is dim, but you can just make out her features with the moonlight that spills in through her big windows, and the moody lights she has set up along her walls. You donât even realize it because youâre too busy gawking at her, but she lifts her leg up a bit and easily slots you down so that your pussy is right against hers, the feeling making you moan softly.
âYouâre so pretty EllieâŚâ you practically sigh out. It makes Ellie moan softly, and she swears the sound of you calling her pretty is enough to bring her back to life, reversing the effects of her undead state.
âFuckâŚcanât say those things to me babyâŚyouâre gonnaâŚJesus..ruin meâ she struggles to get out as she grips your hips, forcing you to roll your hips so that your clit and her clit bumps against each other.
Your eyes flutter shut when you feel it. Itâs so fucking wet, and soft, and itâs like nothing youâve ever felt before. Sure youâd done it with other girls before, but this just feelsâŚit almost feels likeâŚ.
âLike you were fucking made for me princessâ Ellie grits out, her teeth caging her words in as she fucks you down onto her pussy, practically using you for both hers and your pleasure.
Youâre too far gone to pick up on it, too indulged in the feeling of Ellieâs strong hands gripping your thighs so deliciously, sure to leave marks in their shape when you both wake up in the morning.
Your back is arching almost painfully, your hand gripping her thigh as you find the rhythm Ellie has set for you, finding the perfect spot and keeping it there as you drive both you and her to your orgasms.
âIâmâŚEllie you feel so goodâŚyouâre gonna make me cumâ you squeak out, eyebrows furrowed as you finally look down at the girl beneath you, only to find that sheâs just as much of a mess as you are. Her hair is messy and her lips look so pouty and kissable. Itâs hard to make out, but her fanged teeth are pressing into her lips, and youâre sure itâs the sexiest thing youâve seen in your entire life.
She gives you an encouraging nod, one of her hands coming to your ass and kneading it harshly before giving it a firm spank, the sinful noise echoing off the walls of her pristine bedroom.
âI know babyâŚI knowâŚcome on, want you to cum with meâŚthatâs itâŚthatâs my good girlâ her praises make your chest burn, and it leaves knots in your stomach. It only drives you further, your hips moving faster as they roll against Ellieâs, desperately chasing both hers and your orgasm.
âEllieâŚEllie IâmâŚIâm gonna-â you cry out, back arching as you grip her thighs quickly, feeling your own shake as your orgasm begins washing over you.
Ellie catches it right before it happens, the girl quickly sitting up and wrapping her arms around your body, pressing your chest against hers as she pulls you down to kiss her passionately, her own orgasm washing over her like a fucking train.
Your bodies are so in tune, so in sync that your moans almost mix to create a symphony that can only be described as love, total and unconditional love as her arms keep you close, as if stopping you from running away from her, from the feeling she gives you. Her lips are working against yours as you breath hard, struggling to catch your breath in the sloppy kiss.
Youâre a whining mess, your poor pussy far too sensitive to deal with the amount of pleasure that Ellie brought to you, all of it washing over you like an intense sea of euphoria, nearly drowning you as you held onto the girl with weak hands.
She knows youâre weak, because sheâs pulling you down to rest your warm body against her cool sheets, all while keeping her cool body pressed against yours to bring you back down to earth with her.
âThatâs it babyâŚI knowâŚ.did so good for meâŚâ she sighs softly as she leaves gentle kisses against your cheeks and eyes, watching as the aftermath of your orgasm slowly pulls you to the depths of sleep, all of it too much on your body.
âMy beautiful girlâŚmy girlâŚmy girlâŚâ she hums out, almost like a song as she watches you cling to her in your sleep, soft hums and huffs leaving your lips, all of which makes Ellie smile adoringly at you as she holds you while you sleep.
And even while youâre settling into one of the deepest sleeps youâve ever experienced, you donât miss the soft kisses against your lips and cheeks, all paired with the constant, non stop praises from Ellie.
You especially donât miss the way she leans in settles against the pillow next to you, mumbling the softest, sweetest words to you as her hands caressing your naked body.
âI love you, pretty girl..â

you anxiously played with your fingers as the last of the party guest gathered around the huge circle. your friends and you decided to spend your saturday night at one of your classmates party, resulting in you now dreading your turn in the 'truth or dare' game.
"you okay?" you turn your head to your left as your eyes land on your friend, who clearly could pick up on how nervous you looked.
"yeah i'm fine," you tell her. "just hope i don't have to do anything stupid or embarrassing. she laughs at your comment.
"don't worry, i doubt you'll even get picked. there's a lot of people here and were all drunk so, who cares!'. her shouts fills the room, drawing a couple eyes toward the two of you. you giggle and hide your face, trying to tell her to keep it down. in the midst of shushing her, your eyes graze the room, watching people roll their eyes at her behavior. but your eyes catch someone else's and you freeze.
ellie williams
she sends you a soft smile, a dark look in her eyes. you gulp and look away quickly. god, she was so hot you thought. you hope she couldn't how flustered she made you. you hope no one could. your whole life, you've always had no problems catching boys' attention. you could have a whoever, whenever, but with this luxury came its flaw. you never actually liked the boys you went out with, you just loved being loved, being in a relationship. you never understood why you felt that way, but just continued on normally, not giving yourself a chance to actually explore more about yourself. but when you first met ellie freshmen year, the feelings finally became visible, especially after finding out she was also into girls; however, you were still not sure if she felt the same. This caused you to once again burry your feelings and close yourself up. You were too scared, and way too sober to even try to talk to ellie.
suddenly, a loud voice can be heard yelling throughout the house. "truth or dare starting now in living room," on boy shouted. your palms became sweaty and you prayed that everyone would pick up on your uncomfortableness and just leave you alone. as always though, the world likes to work in funny ways, and you feel a large presence sit next to you and tap you on the shoulder.
"hey," the boy smiles, "cool if i sit here?" you just give me a simple nod of your head and continue your attention elsewhere, your thoughts interrupted once again. "you look good tonight, by the way". you turn back around, and give him a quiet thanks, and before he could respond, everyone around you begins to pick who will go first for the game.
after three or four people went, you began to grow annoyed. the man next to you could not take the hint, and you were the only person here not having a good time.
"alright williams," the room cheers silently, "truth or dare". your attention is now fully on ellie. she stares up at her friend who just picked on her, small smirk on her face as she answers with a confident dare. "hmmm," her friend hums out loud, looking around the room. you swear you see their eyes stop on yours for a second, before they get an idea. "i dare you to do 7 minutes in heaven," they pause and the room is filled with oooo's. your heart drops a bit. "a person of your choosing." now everyone was going crazy. everyone knew ellie was gay, and everyone knew she made every girl gay, so it was a pretty heavy dare.
ellie smiles up at her friend, sage you think their name is, before she slowly starts scanning the room. you quickly look down, hoping that your avoided eye contact would make you more invisible. your only focus now was watching your fidgeting fingers and giving back half asses answers to the man beside you who still will not shut up.
you hear ellie suck in her breathe before she slowly gets up from the ground. all you wanted to do in this moment was sink into the ground, not sure how you were going to handle seeing ellie pick another girl that isn't you and go fuck her in the closet. too deep in your thoughts, you don't hear the air leave your friends lungs as a certain someone stalks towards you. you only know ellie is right in front of you once you see the beat up sneakers sneak right under your vision.
your eyes widen and you cant breathe. there has to be someone behind you right? no, she could not pick you. in fear that you would be disappointed when looking up, you keep your head down, telling yourself that you're just-
your friend next to you quietly says your name, excitement laced in her voice. she was the only one you told, the only one you could trust with something so personal to you, so to say she was absolutely ecstatic to see ellie pick her best friend, well that was an understatement.
after your quick reality check, your line of vision trails from the top of her feet, all the way to her line of vision, where you see hear towering over you, smirk on her face. you felt like you were going to throw up.
"wanna come with me?" she asks you, that little smile never leaving her face. you look around the room, everyone in just as much shock as you. you look back at ellie, and without thinking twice, you nod your head yes.
she grabs her hand out for you to take, and you two make your way into the closet in between the living room and kitchen, but not before ellie yells something along the lines of keep yourselves busy, and don't be pervs. you feel like you're dreaming, you can't believe ellie williams picked you. but suddenly, you're brought back into reality when she closes the closet and turns on her phone flashlight.
"so," she begins, "how's your night been." you now grow extremely insecure at how little you've been talking to her, not knowing exactly what to do next considering you've never been with a girl.
"oh uh," you begin, "it's been okay. what about yours?" stupid stupid stupid.
"pretty good. saw that guy talking to you. you looked uncomfortable so thought i would save you." she gives a light giggle, but your heart drops and you look at her with sad eyes.
"oh uh yeah haha thanks," you attempt to say, sadness clearly laced in your voice. ellie picks up on it.
"are you okay? did he do anything?" she asks you, coming closer, concern reading all over her face. you blush at how much she cares about you.
"no, no, he didn't do anything, just was annoying," you let out a breathy laugh. "i guess i just thought that we were gonna, ya know, since you picked me, um, never mind this is stupid." your cheeks are now red with embarrassment, and ellies face softens at your rambling.
"aw, no sweetie. just because i picked you doesn't mean we have to do anything. i know you're not into girls." she gives you a friendly tap on the shoulder. ouch. your heart has now sank completely, and you slowly go to reach for the closet door handle. ellie looks confused, before she panics and grabs your hand.
"where are you going? it hasnt been 7 minutes yet sweetheart," she asks you.
"i was just gonna go back. kinda boring just doing nothing here." you tell her sadly.
"well, what do you want to do?" she still hasn't caught on? at this point, you feel like you will never get another chance again. with your ego still a little boosted that she chose you, you answer her.
"i wanna kiss you, ellie," you tell her. she freezes in the spot she's in before she slowly relaxes and relief washes over her face.
"i wanna kiss you too." she tells you. you look up at her, hope in your eyes, and she slowly grabs yours chin with her fingers and pulls you towards her. your lips meet and you both slowly start to make out. now you know why it was called 7 minutes in heaven. pleasure rushed through your body, and you instantly melted into the kiss. it was the first time you actually felt something when kissing someone, and in the bliss of this new feeling, you now put your arms around her shoulders.
the kiss deepens and turns more sinful as ellies hands now trail down to your ass and give it a light squeeze. you moan into her mouth and she groans back in response. her hands now start exploring your body, covering every inch of you until they make their way down towards your loose jeans. you quickly pull away, feeling like a complete virgin even though this kind of stuff is nothing new to you.
"woah, hey, you okay? we can stop if you want," ellie tells you, scared that she may have gone too far.
"no ellie its not you, its just," you try to find the right words. "i've never actually been with a girl before." you tell her, shame written all over your features. she lightly grabs your face once more as she gives you another passionate kiss.
"im happy to help you through it, and if you ever want me to stop, you just tell me." she explains, leaving light kisses all over you exposed next and chest. you moan out as you give her your permission to continue. her lips find her way back to yours, taking control of the kiss. in between each breath, she made sure to tell you how beautiful you were, and how much she had been dreaming of this. you return the compliments, gasping when ellie now picks you up and leans you down on the closet floor.
now on top, she puts all her weight on her elbow, as the other one trails down from your chest, then your stomach, to finally the place where you needed her the most. still kissing you, her fingers undo your buttons. once your jeans were shoved down, and your panties moved to the side, ellie breaks the kiss.
you whine from the loss of contact, and she shushes you. "is it ok if i touch you?" she asks you politely.
"yes, ellie. please touch me," you beg her. "want you so bad." her lips suddenly reconnect with yours, and her fingers start rubbing light circles on your clit. you moan as she teases you, never feeling this way with any guy you've ever been with.
"you make the prettiest noises," she tells you, nipping at your lips. "fuck, and you're so wet too." her talking alone brings you even closer to your high, another new feeling.
you feel her fingers now trail down and tease your entrance, making the most sinful sound. she bites her lips, then starts pumping two fingers inside of you.
your eyes now roll to the back of your head and ellie falls to your side, the new position allowing her to finger you even faster. your head leans into her shoulder, and tears brim in your eyes from how good shes making you feel.
"faster, please," you beg, now staring into her eyes. the innocent look on your face causes her pussy the clench.
"yeah baby? you want me to go faster?" she teases you. "ill do anything for you beautiful." that was enough to send you over the edge, and you start to shake and she speeds up her motions.
"els" is all you can get out, but she knows exactly what you're trying to say, telling you to let go and cum all over her fingers.
and you're about to, until you hear yelling outside the closest door, and people are banging on your door, telling you seven minutes has passed.
you and ellie groan, and you're about to scream out of frustration, before ellies low voice cuts you off.
"i want you to get dressed and meet me outside my car, we can finish this at me." she tells you, a loving look on her face. you giggle and give her a quick peck, before jumping up and putting on your clothes.
you two come out of the closet, rushing towards the front door, completely ignoring all your friends and strangers random questions flying your way.
"where are they going?"
"are they holding hands?"
"do you think they did anything?"
"they so fucked."

summary: At the football play you visited to support your best friend, something happens that you didn't expect.
warnings: smoking (weed); slightly implied loser Ellie at the end; swear words; girls kissing (what a surprise); my writing idk
authors note: so firstly I mean football as soccer and not american football, but its not important to the plot so it can be interpreted as either; secondly, sorry for being so inactive I actually needed fucking half a year just for this its actually embarressing, I'm really slow at writing I don't know why, but I'm trying to be more active. I also didnt proofread so sorry for grammar mistakes or something anyway I hope you enjoy this!!
ALSO BIG DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT SUPPORT NEIL DRUCKMANN AND THE FACT THAT HE SUPPORTS ISRAEL!! If you don't know whats going on in Palestine, please go educate yourself because its highly important.
Here are a few links, so nobody can say it's too complicated or annoying to search for information (besides its really fucking heartless, cruel and totally not human to say "I dont wanna put effort in researching" while people are literally suffering and dying because of a genocide):

This evening was the final football game of the season. Everyone was so excited, and your best friend played in the school team, so of course, you came to this game to support her. You already arrived a bit late because you took a nap and didn't hear the alarm, so you quickly searched for your friends who were already sat and luckily saved you a seat. When they saw you coming in, they waved you over to them.
"What took you so long? The game has already started!" One of them said before switching their attention back to the field.
"Sorry, I overslept." You explained yourself sitting down on your seat.
"You didn't miss much, just a foul from the other team. They're so annoying and clearly playing anything but fair." Another one of your friends said, rolling her eyes while offering you a bag of chips. You declined and began searching for your best friend between all the other players, running on the field. Not even five seconds later, you found her. With the ball in front of her, she ran towards the goal. You joined the cheers of everyone from your school, sure that this was going to be such a great goal until:
A girl from the other team came out of nowhere, running towards her, tackling her to the ground. You gasped. "That was another foul!" One of your friends exclaimed, standing up to better see what the referee would say. But instead of also looking at the referee, your gaze still hasn't left the girl, responsible for the foul.
She looked pleased with herself. What an asshole! You thought to yourself, but couldn't deny that the way her eyes sparkled in the light and her auburn hair moved in the wind was mesmerising.
Too distracted by her features, you realised a bit late that she was eyeing you too. A smirk on her lips, she winked at you before walking off the field, your eyes still on her.
"Too bad that bitch just got a yellow card. She deserved more, right?" Your friends, already discussing the decision of the referee, were turning to you since you were the only one who didn't comment on it.
Heat rushed into your cheeks as you realised you hadn't listened the whole time, busy gushing over that girl. "Yeah.. definitely more." Was all you said to not keep the attention on you.
"Guys," you added after a short pause, "I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick. I'll be back."
"Sure."
"But hurry, they're already playing again."
You just slightly nodded before walking off to search for the bathrooms. To your luck, they weren't far away from your seats, so it didn't take too long to find them.
As you closed the door behind you, a strong smell of weed filled your lungs. Holding a hand in front of your mouth, you coughed reflexively.
"Having trouble breathin', princess?"
You turned around to see the girl who fouled your best friend sitting on the sink, her legs slightly swinging forwards and back. She still wore her tricot but now had a grey, dirty, worn-out jacket over it. The half up half down bun she had was messed up, probably because of the constant running on the field, and between two of her fingers, she held an already half smoked joint.
Her smile rose as she noticed your gaze lingering on her again. "Y'want a photo? It'll last longer." She chuckled, finding this old ass joke very funny.
You rolled your eyes at her words but couldn't help the smile, forming on your lips. "What are you doing here anyway, don't you have to play?" She blew out the smoke she held in her mouth before answering your question. "My coach replaced me. Said I needed a break before playing again." You just nodded because you didn't know how to keep the conversation going. For a few seconds, you both just looked at each other in silence. After taking another drag from the joint, she leaned forward, offering you to do the same.
"No, thanks. I don't smoke."
"Thought so." She chuckled. After a short pause, she added: "Not in a rude way, of course. Y'just don't look like you'd do drugs."
Even though you knew it was childish and totally stupid, you now wanted to prove to her that you were indeed someone who could take drugs. So you took the joint out of her hand, carefully brought it to your lips, and inhaled.
You probably shouldn't have inhaled this deep because now you were coughing like someone poured tons of sand down your throat. It surely felt like it.
When you calmed down a bit, you looked up again, handing the joint back to the girl on the sink, who was clearly amused. "What a brave girl." She said with a shit eating grin on her face. "Come here, I'll show you how it's done right."
She gestured between her spread legs. As you moved towards her, she leaned in, reducing the space between the two of you. "Open your mouth."
She then proceeded to take a drag from the joint. As she moved closer, your breath hitched. Your eyes wandered from her gorgeous green ones down to her lips, and heat rose in your cheeks again.
Without breaking eye contact, she blew the smoke she had in her mouth into yours. Reflexively, you closed it.
"Now hold it in."
And that's what you did. The smoke filled your lungs, this time a lot less painful than your first drag. After a few seconds, you exhaled slowly, a small smile of pride on your face.
Your faces were still very close, and silence fell upon the both of you again. The tension thickend. Her emerald green eyes stared directly into yours, abruptly blinking down to your lips.
"Can I kiss you?" Your voice was nothing more than a whisper, fading into thin air. A smirk grew once again on her lips before nodding and then proceeding to lean in and closing the gap between the two of you.
Once her lips were on yours, she cupped your cheek, her fingertips brushing slightly over it. You felt like your heart was going to jump out of your chest. Her lips were so soft. You couldn't really describe the feeling, but it felt good. Like you were on cloud nine. You quickly synced with the rhythm she set, leaning forward so that her back met the wall behind her.
Your hands wandered behind her neck, beginning to tug on her hair slightly. A soft groan escaped her lips at the sudden impact, which sounded like music to your ears.
A smile formed on your lips once she broke the kiss to catch her breath. "What're you smiling at?" She looked at you irritated, which just caused you to chuckle.
"I don't know. You're.. pretty."
Silence followed after that.
"Pretty enough to get your number?"
Ellie wanted to bash her head against the wall at her cringe comment. She thought she'd definitely crossed the line now. But you just began laughing, quickly covering your mouth with your hand to muffle the sound.
"Sorry. Don't get me wrong I-", you interrupted yourself by holding up your finger to signal her to wait and began searching for your phone in your purse.
Fuck. You thought as you realised you left it in your jacket with your friends and hurriedly searched around for something to write on. Ellie just watched you amused, catching on to your plan. She snatched a pepertowel out of the spender and offered it to you. You just gave her an awkward smile, fishing a half empty kajal out of your purse and scribbled your phone number on it.
As you handed it to her, she took it with the same smirk she had in the beginning. "As sad as it is, I think I have to go back on the field. My coach probably misses me by now." She added hesitantly while sliding off the sink and walking towards the door. "Cool meeting you, though."
The click of the closing door was the last thing you heard before you were completely alone in the bathroom.
With the paper towel still in her hand, Ellie made her way over to the rest of her team, almost jumping with joy and thanking every mighty power for letting her survive the whole conversation without completely losing her mind or embarrassing herself. She'd definitely save your number as soon as she could. Actually contacting you was a whole other story.

list of what i personally consider to be joelâs biggest âi forgot that i keep insisting iâm not your dadâ moments:
-âwell now i have to see itâ / âi donât want you toâ just the tone in which he says this and the thing of being like iâm not going to stop this from happening but iâm going to make my disapproval known, very dad
-his face softening and posture opening up a little in ep1 when sheâs like âbut you know where to go? so weâre gonna be okayâ because even though heâs pissed to be babysitting and thinks sheâs more trouble than sheâs worth, he is not immune to scared little kid
-also ep1, all of his annoyed eyerolling at ellie instantly respecting/listening to tess and not him
-the Single Silent Nod of Capitulationâ˘ď¸
-becoming increasingly able to sense when ellie is about to ask for a gun from a mile away
-becoming increasingly able to sense when ellie is about to ask him to explain something he doesnât know jackshit about
-saying under his breath âjust wait goddamn itâ while jogging after her
-loud coffee slurp in response to being told itâs gross
-also, assuming a 14 y/o who grew up in military school would like coffee
-dad infodumping infused with mild griping (i.e. pre-pandemic air travel, gasoline, how fedra cleared the highways)
-âlookitâ
-oH i ThouGht yOu weNt tO ScHooL
-âyouâre gonna break your neckâ/âslow downâ/âwhat did i just sayâ
-impatiently telling someone to straighten up is very dad
-the white lie about everyone loving contractors and contractors being cool obv
-doing the âis there anything bad in hereâ / âjust youâ bit not once but twice. he really does cycle through the same like 6 weak-ass jokes
-asking someone else to navigate while driving and then stressing them out for not navigating well enough for his liking
-being able to guess her favorite astronaut, i am weeping
-laying down 3 ground rules and then pretty much immediately and continually letting ellie get away with breaking 2 out of 3
-starting to look over at her in surprise when she says âi donât want to talk about itâ because itâs the first time thatâs happened and he can tell heâs touched on something that really bothers her, and you see him having to wrestle with the dad impulse to be concerned
-when ellie tries to get him not to go after the sniper; impatiently being like ugh come on that guy is not gonna shoot me he literally sucks (pedroâs read of this line always makes me laugh)
-and of course also the follow-up, when he sees heâs going to have to do better than that to convince her that everything will be fine and his tone softens and he asks her to trust him. the âno questions, just do itâ to âdo you trust meâ pipeline bro, fuucckkk
-the wyoming scenes when theyâre nearing jackson and joelâs losing his cool a little and acting kinda grumpy and agitated really remind me of when you have to run errands with your parent while theyâre in a bad mood

Roll The Bones
Pairing: Joel Miller x reader
Authorâs note: I wrote this in the midst of a flare up so please enjoy and be gentle with your disabled friends <3
Summary: A bad pain day with Joel [1.5k]
Warnings: descriptions of injuries and subsequent chronic pain, medical settings and discussion, I think thatâs it??
When Joel finds you, you're in a pitiful state. Your arm is folded over your face, covering your eyes even though the blinds are closed and the room is dark. Your right leg is peeking out from under the bundle of blankets and quilt, elevated with a lukewarm towel surrounding the swelling kneecap. The room smells like the salve someone in the town makes that's supposed to alleviate your pain. So far, it's just given you a headache. Your entire body throbs with pain and frustration. It shouldn't be like this, you think ruefully. I shouldn't feel like this.Â
Joel lightly pads over to your bedsideâ his footsteps quiet now that he's discarded his boots by the front doorâ and perches next to you. His hand finds a home on your afflicted knee and carefully maneuvers his thumb over the tendons to help with the pain. You shift the arm covering your face to reach for him, and he smiles.Â
"There she is," he murmurs as you take him in. His hair is long and a little unruly in the back, but you think it makes him look soft and domestic. He's shed his work jacket and heavier clothes downstairs and is clad in his soft, well-worn-in flannel. He smells like pine and leather. You want to wrap yourself in his warmth but settle for having him nearby. "Ellie told me you were havin' a rough day." He says. It doesn't surprise you that she did, even though you promised her you were fine and didn't need him. It's become rare that she doesn't update him daily on your health.
About a year ago, you were on patrol with Tommy when a Runner came out of nowhere and charged at your horse. She startled and bucked you off before you could regain control of the reins. The Runner was dead before you could hit the ground, and your horse would be recovered within the day, but the damage was done. You broke your leg in two places and dislocated your knee, in addition to a low-level concussion and cuts on your face and arms. When you came back into Jackson on Tommy's horse, half-conscious, bloody, and delirious with pain, Joel was horrified, Ellie even more so.
You were in the hospital for a month as they used what they could to put you in something akin to a cast and reset the bones. Joel and Ellie took turns being guards at your bed, monitoring what they gave you, when, and how much, and how your healing process was going. They were there with you every day, learning the tips and tricks to support you and keeping you sane as you stared at the white walls.Â
Six months, the doctor said. Six months is all it would take to be back to normal as long as you did everything you were supposed to. Things have gotten better slower than you would like, but they have gotten better. You have really good days where you don't feel anything other than slight twinges when you move your leg in a weird way. Those days, it's hard to remember that you broke it in the first place. But other days, like today, you can feel every muscle in your leg tightening as stiff pain rockets up and down your body. You thought you could persevere enough to go to the store with Ellie, but your body obviously had other plans.
"My leg gave out on me when I was coming down the stairs. Pretty sure I made the whole house shake when I fell." You explain, and his eyebrows knit together in phantom pain as his thumb works your muscle.Â
"You hurt anythin'?" He asks. "Other than your pride?"Â You blow air out of your nose in a half-laugh and shake your head.Â
"Just some bruises," you say. He finds a tender spot in your knee that makes you hiss and ball up your fists, but he doesn't let up until the muscle releases. It's what he's supposed to do: break up the scar tissue, relax the muscles, and hope for the best. It still hurts like a bitch, and it'll hurt more in the morning. He mumbles apologies under his breath and kisses you to try and distract you, but your brain's been running wild for hours. "I went so long without any pain." You finally say, breaking the reverie and collapsing the unwanted space your pain often creates.Â
"You've been takin' on a lot these past few weeks. It doesn't surprise me somethin' would flare up."Â It's an honest assessment. He warned you this would happen, but you ignored him. You thought you knew your body better. You wanted to know your body better. The returning thought and the gentle hand on your knee turn your tongue into sandpaper, and tears prick in the corners of your eyes. Despite the low light in the room, Joel catches it and makes a sympathetic noise.Â
"Hey, talk to me."Â He says softly, shifting his hand from your knee to your face to catch a few stray tears. You shake your head and try and fail to form the words. Joel is patient. He always is, but he shouldn't have to be.Â
"I'm so tired of being like this."Â You whisper, hating the feel of the words on your tongue and hating the sound of them even more. Joel gives you a confused look and pushes your hair out of your face.Â
"Bein' like what?"
"Sick,"Â you choke out. Now that the dam is broken, there's no stopping the bitter rush of words from leaving you. "We took her across the country and got rid of anyone who even looked at her wrong. Now, I can't even get on a horse without hurting. And I do all the stupid fucking things the doctor tells me to do. I do the exercises and take the medicine and everything, and nothing is making it better, and I'm so tired."Â
"Why didn't you tell me that?"Â
"Because I didn't want you to think I'm broken." It's a thought you've harbored since you were laid up in the hospital, unable to even walk to the bathroom without help, but this is the first time you've expressed it. You secretly hoped if you just didn't say anything about it, maybe Joel wouldn't notice. It's a stupid idea, given that your entire lives have changed since the accident. You just didn't want to get thrown away like all the other broken things in this world. Joel takes a deep breath and gazes at you.Â
"Honey, you aren't broken. Not even close to it," he says. You want to counter him, but the weight of your emotion is too heavy on your chest. "I wanna know if somethin' is hurtin' you cause when you hurt, I hurt, okay? You're not a burden or somethin' to fix. You just⌠need a little extra care right now, and that's okay. I wanna take care of you."
"What if it's like this forever?"Â You ask, and he shakes his head.Â
"It won't be."
"But, what if it is?"Â More tears fill your eyes as you await his answer. He didn't fall in love with this version of you. You don't know if you could blame him if he never does. But with enough ease and love to take your breath away, Joel kisses your forehead, right where your temple smacked against the cold ground. He kisses your forehead and the white scars littering your cheeks before finally shifting to kiss the knee propped up on pillows and hope. He doesn't flinch at the swelling or the angry spasms. He treats them with care and attention. He treats them as another part of you.Â
"Takin' care of you has never and will never be on the list of worst things imaginable. Your health is not a sacrifice or a burden on me. If it's like this forever, we'll adapt, but I know you. I know how hard you're workin' to get better. I know we'll find a way to live with this," he says. "But I need you to talk to me when things aren't workin'. I can't help you if you don't tell me what's helpin' and what's not, okay?" You swallow around the lump in your throat and nod.Â
"Okay."Â
"Okay," he echoes. "I'm gonna get you an appointment with Dr. Lutton and see if we can't get you on a new treatment plan first thing tomorrow mornin'. Is there anythin' I can do for you until then?" He asks, fully prepared to go to the edge of the earth if you asked him to.Â
"Can you lay with me?"Â You ask, and he smiles.Â
"Of course, baby." He mumbles. He kisses your knee one more time before shuffling to wrap you in his arms. The warmth from his body helps relieve some of your tension and pain, and he kneads calming circles over your shoulders and back. Your focus shifts from the pain in your leg to the song he's humming, the vibrations in his chest a welcome distraction. The pain doesn't go away entirelyâ you doubt it ever willâ but you rest your weary body against his and sleep, finding wholeness in his acceptance of your loss.Â

Thereâs not a lot of descriptors about reader other than eye color and mentions of curves/ plush but they can easily be changed.
Hopeful.
Hopeful wasnât something Joel felt since before the outbreak. But when he met you, it started brewing slow and low just below the surface until he couldnât deny it anymore, couldnât push it away any longer. You made him feel hopeful.
âDude if you stare much longer the whole town is gonna notice.â Ellie teases as she jabs Joel with her elbow.
âOh stop it, I wasnât staringâ
âYouâve been looking at her for like 10 minutes, just go sit with herâ
Joel turns away quickly feeling his face getting red. He thought he was doing a better job of keeping his fondness for you hidden. He figured there was no way youâd share the same feelings, why would you like a guy like him? Old, beat up, and someone the whole town talked about. He figured there just wasnât any way.
âShe donât want me bothering herâ Joel shrugs
âIm not lying when I say she asks about you when you havenât been to the stables yet.â
A slight smile tugs at Joelâs lips, he always asks Ellie about you too.
âGo sit with herâEllie nudges him
Joel letâs out a nervous sigh and makes his way over to your table.
Youâre fully engrossed in your book that you donât notice Joel standing there for a moment.
âIs this seat taken darlinâ?â
You donât even have to look to know itâs Joel, youâd know his voice anywhere.
You chuckle, looking up at him with that smile and those big beautiful hazel eyes he loved so much.
âWhatâs funny?â
âUnless Ellie and Dina are sitting with me, that seats never takenâ
Joel frowns at your comment.
âYou want some company? It ok if I sit?â
âIâd love someâ you say trying not too seem to eager but your bursting with butterflies over Joel wanting to sit with you. Your smile happens automatically, like it always does with Joel.
Youâd been fond of Joel since him and Ellie arrived in Jackson. Despite all the whispers about him in town, his presence always calmed you in a way nobody ever had, you couldnât explain it even if you tried. You absolutely adored Ellie from the moment you met her, Joel always telling you she trusts you in a way heâs never seen before.
The two of you fall into comfortable small talk as you both finish breakfast.
âDidnât see you at the town dance last nightâ
âThatâs because I didnât go, you went?â
âWell Ellie and Dina wanted to go cause theyâre always reading about dances in the diaries they find, so I went too. Plus Ellieâs always teasinâ me that I need to get out moreâ
âI donât normally go to stuff like that, Iâm too awkward and I donât want people asking me to dance because they feel bad.â
âNow Iâm sure there would be lots of people whoâd like to dance with youâ Joel has all he can do not to tell you heâd show up to dance with you everytime if he knew youâd be there.
âThatâs really kind of you to say, but incase you havenât noticed the people here donât really know how to take me.â
âYou headin to the stables?â Joel already knows the answer. He knows itâs not your day to work at the stables but he asks anyways because he doesnât want the conversation to end.
â No, today Iâm working on getting the little town library set up, now that you and Tommy are finished building the shelves, Iâd like to open it soon.â
âYâneed any help? Iâm off my normal duties todayâ
âOh no, itâs ok. You donât have to do that. I donât want to bother you on your free timeâ
âItâs really no trouble at all, I wouldnât offer if I didnât want to helpâ Joelâs jokes, smiling at you.
Your laugh.
Heâd give anything to hear your laugh over and over again.
âAnd I guess I wouldnât accept if I didnât want help and companyâ you teased back, trying to stifle the giggle that bubbles up.
She wants company, my company?
The two you you load up the first wagon full of books and wheel across the center of town to the little store front soon to be the The Jackson Town Library.
âHere we can unload them. Then I can keep making the trips back and forth with the cart while you set them up in the shelvesâ
âSounds like a deal to me. Why donât we make like 3-4 trips and stop for the day. Because if not weâre both the type of people to work on our whole day off.â
âYou got yourself a deal sweetheartâ
Joel canât help but smile as he turns to make the second trip. There was just something about the way you made him feel at ease, that he couldnât get over.
When Joel returned with the second load of books he found you and Ellie chatting as she was helping you.
âWhat was it like to have a birthday party and sleepovers?â Ellie asks you.
âWhat makes you ask that?â You ask chuckling a little.
âWell Iâve been reading about them in the people from before the outbreaks diaries but I never had either of themâ
âThey were fun for a lot of people, I um didnât really have a lot of friends, so my birthday parties were always mostly family. And I only ever went to a few sleep overs. I was always so excited to be included when I got to go to them.â
It breaks Joelâs heart listening to you and Ellie talking. It wasnât fair that Ellie never got to experience what life was like before the outbreak, never really getting a childhood. Hearing you talking about how hard and lonely your life was even as a child tore him up. You were different sure, but you had a heart of gold. You were so caring, always supporting everyone who needed something and all you wanted was love and care in return.
He wanted to be that person for you so badly, the one who made your heart soar with all the love and support you never had. To be the one to make you laugh on the good days and take you into his arms and take the pain away on the bad days.
Heâs not sure exactly when he started to fall for you, but it was coming on faster and stronger by the day.
âMy birthday is next weekend, could I have a birthday party?â
You looked up locking eyes with Joel
âOf course you can, we can throw you a birthday party Ellieâ you smile at him as you answer.
We. She wants to help me throw a birthday party for Ellie? Thereâs no bounds to how wonderful and caring this woman is.
â I of course want to invite you, Dina, Jesse, Ethan, uncle Tommy and Maria. Ooo can I have a sleep over?â
âNo boys are sleeping overâ
You canât help but laugh at Joelâs abrupt response.
âEww no of course not, but Dina and (y/n) could stay over couldnât they?â
â yes if they want to they are more then welcomeâ
âOh this is awesome, I gotta go tell everyone!â
âWait, shouldnât you ask if (y/n) wants too?â Joelâs looking at you to gage your reaction
âOf course, I wouldnât miss it for the worldâ
Ellie smiles wildly as she runs out of the store front.
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
The day came for Ellieâs party, and you loaded up your wagon with all the supplies and headed over there early to help set up.
âJesus youâve got a lot of stuff, you didnât have to go through all this troubleâ
âI know but I really wanted to make this as special as I could for her. She deserves to have the experiences she never got tooâ
Your big heart made Joelâs soar, you were so kind and thoughtful.
â I do have a big surprise for her, for all the kids reallyâ
âOh yea? What do you have up your sleeve?â Joel teases.
âSo I went through some boxes that had been in the house in one of the closets. I never bothered to before because itâs not like I really have a lot of stuff so they werenât in the way. But I wanted to see if there was anything I could use for Ellieâs party and man I hit the jackpotâ
Joel just smirks and raises a eyebrow signaling you to continue.
âWell one I found another Will Livingston pun book, which sheâs going to love and I found a Nintendo console with a bunch of game cartridges. I figured we could teach the kids how to play and then Ellie can keep itâ
There it is again, we. Maybe Iâm reading into this to much. But I canât help but feel like she actually likes spending time with me.
âShit, theyâre all going to love it! Man I havenât played with one of these in agesâ
âMe either, I was never any good at them and the sounds drove me crazyâ
Joel relished moments like this, when you pulled back the curtain you shielded yourself with and let him see you.
You sat there completely content and full of joy watching Joel teach the kids how to play each game before he joined you on the couch as they went crazy battling each other.
As the kids cheer and the Mario music blasts Joel looks over to see you struggling. Your eyes shut tightly, chest rising and falling quicker than normal
âHey, want to have a drink in the kitchen?â Joel whispers as he places his hand lightly on your arm.
âPleaseâ you whisper, embarrassed that Joel saw you like that.
You sit at the kitchen table while Joel takes out two glasses with ice and pours whiskey doubles into them.
âEverything alright darlinâ?â Joel ask as he takes his seat sliding your glass over to you.
âOh..yea..everythingâs alrightâ you say staring down at the amber liquid. Embarrassment flooding your system.
âI ainât gonna push you if you donât want to talk and I know I probably ainât your first choice of someone to talk to, but just know you can talk to me.â
Joel desperately wants to know about your struggles, what makes you the way you are. He wants to be the one that helps you through life, the one who makes the bad days good and the good days better. But he pushes aside the thoughts that youâd want to be more than just friends, if you even considered him that. Because after all why would a girl like you like someone like him, could he really be that lucky?
You think about your answer for a few beats, and realize thereâs no use trying to lie to Joel. There was just something about Joel that was comforting, that made you feel safe, but in a different way than the way you felt with Tommy you just couldnât put your finger on it.
âNo its not at all like that. I like talking to you.â You donât miss the way Joelâs eyes light up a little.
âItâs justâŚ.I usually just retreat into myself, itâs easier that way. Most people donât want to hear about my weird issues that canât be solved with a why donât you just ignore it?, why canât you just change? Canât you be a little less weird?â You said with a defeated shrug.
You wanted to talk to Joel, but part of you hoped he would just change the subject and move on. Because your quiet sure he doesnât actually want to hear about your ADHD and all the weird idiosyncrasies that came with it.
âWell Iâm not most peopleâ he drawled as he lightly touched your arm. Nodding his head to encourage you to continue.
Truthfully he wanted to hear anything you wanted to tell him, Joel wanted to be your comfort point, the person that you went to for anything. To be the person you felt the safest with, to let your tired shoulders relax from holding up that wall around yourself. Letting your true self shine, free from judgement and surrounded by the love you deserve.
âI have sensory issues, especially with audio and textures. Itâs hard to explain and itâs been along time since anyone wanted me too, so bare with me because some of this isnât going to make a whole lot of sense.â
âYou take all the time you need sweetheart, there no rush or pressure. Iâm here for youâ
Joel canât help but notice your eyes soften and body langue relax a little when you realize heâs got you, that heâs hear for you and truly listening.
âI get overwhelmed easily by a lot of sounds happening at once, like in there with the sounds of the game and all the yelling and cheering at the same time makes my brain feel scrambled up. Like I canât sort any of it out, it just sounds like one big mixing bowl of sounds. And when that happens I get anxious, my heart starts to pound, my ears ring and sometimes I lash out coming off to aggressive in the moment to try and make it stop.â
â youâve been around enough at the stables, youâve probably heard me come on a little to strong with a razor sharpe tongue when it all gets to much. I always feel so bad, I never mean to snap. But sometimes when itâs so overwhelming itâs like I have no control of my tongue and I just blurt it out before I even realize Iâm saying anything.â
âCan I ask you a question?â
âAsk me anything youâd like and Iâll do my best to answerâ
âI donât want this to come out wrong, Iâm realizing now this might sound a little weird. But Iâve noticed you fuss with your clothes, like your pulling them away from your skin constantly, is-is that part of the sensitivity?â
You canât help but look at Joel for a few beats to long, stunned by his question. Not because of the way he worded it but because of the context of his question, that fact that heâs picked up on your discomfort and is curious about it instead of just asking why you canât just deal with it like everyone else ever has.
âIâm sorry⌠I didnât mean tâmake you uncomfortableâ Joel says taking your silence as a bad sign.
âNo, you didnât at all. I just got lost in the thought of you being so observant but always wanting to know.â
âI always want to ask if your alright but I never want to pry, I know you like your spaceâ
You canât help the smile that dances across your face.
âYou can ask me anything Joel, if Iâm not comfortable answering Iâd tell you.â
âBut yes, the clothing thing is part of it. The texture of some fabrics against me make me want to crawl out of my skin. Itâs hard sometimes for me to fall asleep too because the way the blankets and sheets touch my skin doesnât feel right. I know itâs weird, I canât really explain it.â
âItâs not just with clothing or fabric either, itâs physical touch too, which is the worst to get people to understand. I hate being touched, the feeling of most people touching me makes my skin crawl. And they love to brush it off by being like oh well Iâm a huggy person or oh Iâm just a touchy person so itâs ok.â
âIâm sorry, I know Ellie hugs you all the time and I know I touched you earlierâ
âSee now this is the most frustrating and complicated part about this. There are people like you, Ellie and Tommy that are in my bubble that Iâm comfortable with, that I trust, that that kind of contact is welcome from.â
She likes when I touch her? Am I a welcome presence for her? Iâll drive myself crazy thinking about this too hard, but maybe just maybe sheâs trying to tell me she feels the same as I do?
âThen the flip side of it is that there are also sounds that bring me so much comfort, like songs that I could listen to on repeat without batting an eye. The sound of someoneâs voice that brings me back to earth when the anxiety is unrelenting. A scent that soothes me beyond explanation.â
Joel canât help but let his thoughts run wild, indulging in the thought that you might be talking about him. Heâs about to ask about your comment when Ellie barges into the kitchen.
âOh sorry to interruptâ she says when she realizes you two are deep in conversation.
âOh no itâs ok, you probably just saved me from really embarrassing myselfâ you chuckle
Joel doesnât miss the way you stiffen up, as if you feel like youâve said to much.
â Iâm ready to watch my birthday movie but Iâm also really ready for the guys to leave so itâs just the four of us, could you kick them out?â
â course I can do that, weâll be right inâ
You quickly get up from the table to follow after Ellie.
âHang on, sweetheartâ Joel says softly as he reaches for your arm.
âCan-can I give you a hug? Or rather would you like a hug?â
You can feel the embarrassment really take hold as you pull your eyes to the floor. He had no idea how much you wanted a hug from him and you had no idea how badly he wanted to hug you.
âI would like thatâ you said meekly as you nod your head. If Joel wasnât listening intently, hanging on your every word he would of missed it
He takes a few steps closer to you hesitating for a couple beats before he wraps his arms you.
As if youâd been waiting for this moment, your entire body relaxes under his touch. Joel canât help but notice they way you bury your head into his chest as you wrap your arms around him tighter. The way you stay there in his arms for longer than he expects, like your completely at ease in this moment.
âThank youâŚ.thank you for listening. For letting me talk.â You whisper
âThank for trusting me, for letting me inâ he whispers back.
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
It had been a few months since Ellieâs birthday party and Joel couldnât help but boil over with happiness at seeing more of you. You started coming around often and listening to him play guitar on the porch after your walks with Ellie. You started joining them for family meals more in the mess hall, though Joel couldnât tell you he called them that- not yet anyway.
Because honestly he was waiting for the other shoe to drop, for you to decide he wasnât the type of person you wanted to spend alot of time with. Itâs why he didnât press you on wether or not you were coming to his birthday gathering at the tipsy bison tonight that Tommy was putting together. He didnât want you to feel pressured.
You slip into the dimly lit tipsy bison about 45 minutes before Joelâs party is supposed to end. You were so nervous to come, that it took alot for you to actually leave the house. You realize as you slip into a table in the dark back corner that you also forgot his present at home too.
Somethings seriously wrong with me when I remember to bring my security book and not this manâs damn present.
You scan the room and see Joel and Tommy talking to a few people at the bar. Nervous about interrupting you open up your book and try to block out all the loud chatter.
Joel scans the small crowd hoping to see you when he over hears Caleb talking to Tommy.
âWhy would she come to something like this if sheâs not going to speak to anyone?â
Joel follows Calebâs motion, feeling a tugging in his chest when he lays eyes on you. Youâre sitting in the dark corner of the Tipsy Bison hunched over your book, rubbing your finger back and forth on the cover. Something Joel picked up on that you do when your anxious as a way to sooth yourself.
âSorry we canât all be rays of fucking sunshine like youâ Joel hears Ellie snap back as heâs making his way over to you.
The closer he gets to you the more his heart pounds. When was the last time I ever felt like this if ever. Joel doesnât know when it started happening but he canât fight it any longer, heâs falling for you hard and fast like a fright train. You consume his every thought, which terrifies the hell out of him but he canât turn back now, not even if he tried.
âHey there sweetheart, you cameâ for one fleeting moment Joel feels nervous, maybe you donât want to be bothered because after all you didnât even tell him you were here. But that all melts away the moment you look at him. The smile that touches your eyes, the shimmer of happiness that dances across your face.
âHey!â
âIt ok to join you?â
âOf course, Iâd love that. As long as Iâm not taking your time away from anyone else?â
âThere isnât one person in here Iâd rather talk toâ
The way you beam up at him as you quickly but your book back in youâre bag says it all. This is another sign of yours that Joelâs picked up on, you only do this when youâre comfortable and want to talk to someone. You always do this when you see him, he trys so hard not to read into that but at this point itâs impossible.
The two of you sit and talk for a bit. You canât help but be consumed by all things Joel when you were around him, and you loved that. The way he looked at you like you were the only other person in the world or the way he made you feel when ever he was near was both to much snd not enough. Your feelings for him charging full steam ahead, thereâs no way youâd stop them even if you had the option.
But could he really feel the same?
âWell I should go I donât want to take you away from your friends to longâ
âOh, let me walk you homeâ
âNo no itâs ok, Iâll be alright, itâs your partyâ you say frowning, not wanted to inconvenience him in any way.
âSweetheartâŚI can promise you most these people ainât here for meâ
You pause for a few beats
âOk, in that case Iâd love thatâ unable to control the sincere wild smile that dances across your lips at the thought of Joel Miller walking you home.
âUm ah- would you like to come in for a minute? I ah have a gift for you but I forgot it when I left for your partyâ you smile sheepishly up at Joel as you reach your little house.
âYou have a gift for me?â
âYeaâŚI made you a birthday presentâ
Joel follows you inside your house, and instantly the scent of you is filling his senses. He watches as your disappear down the hall and into a room, unsure if he can follow you mixed with not wanting to scare you has him staying in the kitchen.
âHere itâs not much, but I wanted to do somethingâ you say nervously handing him the small gift wrapped in a scrap piece of fabric.
You lean back against the counter as Joel takes the gift, unwrapping the corded string holding the fabric around the gift like wrapping paper.
Youâre overcome with anxiety watching him, making it near impossible to look at him. What if he doesnât like it? What if itâs to much? Joel doesnât miss the way your fidgeting around nervously.
As Joel pulls back the last fold of fabric he reveals a smallish leather bound note book. As he turns it over in his hands the light catches right for him to notice stitched into the cover in a slightly different colored string than the leather is his name.
âYou made this for me? Christ it must of taken foreverâ Joel asks as he runs this fingers over the the letters.
âD-do you like it? I hope itâs not to much?â You say sheepishly, retreating into yourself as your wrap your arms around yourself.
âNo no, it ainât like that. I love it, Iâm just surprised you took the time to make something for me of all people.â
âIt took me about two months to do, because I worked on it when I had the energy after rounds at the stables. But I wanted to do something special for you, because.. well because your special to me. When I heard you saying your note book for your patrol and maintenance notes was almost full I got the idea to make this without knowing how to go about itâ
âNobodyâs ever done anything like this more me before. Is it ok if I give you a hug sweetheart?â
When Joel takes you into his arms he expects you to be tense before you relax like the few times before, but not this time. No this time was different, this time you melted under his touch immediately burying your face in his chest. He canât help but think maybe youâve been needing his touch, his comfort as much as he needs yours.
You feel him pull back from the hug, making you painfully aware you held on to him for a few beats to long. Youâre anxiety takes over as you pull back, youâre gaze dropping to the floor immediately.
âSorry. Sorry, I made that weirdâ
âGive yourself some credit sweetheart, you never make anything weird. I just wanted to look at you, thatâs allâ
Pulling your gaze back up, your met with his beautiful deep brown eyes. Theyâre filled with a soft tenderness as he reaches up caressing the curve of your cheek.
Joelâs large warm hand comes to cup the side of your face, smoothing his calloused thumb back and forth over your cheek bone. His heart thunders in his chest when you lean into his touch, looking more free than heâs ever seen you. Almost as if youâre letting him see a glimpse of yourself from before the world fell apart. He also sees a lightness in your body language that he only notices when the two of you are together.
His eyes flicker between your lips and your eyes a few times, trying to search for any fear or discomfort.
Fuck it.
Your eyes flutter closed as Joelâs lips connect with yours in a soft and tender kiss. Your mind in desperately trying to process everything as Joel takes your stillness as hesitation and pulls away at the exact moment you brain catches up.
âSorry I misre-â
âWait, Do it againâ you whisper
Joel grabs both sides of your face as he lowers himself back down connecting with your soft lips again. Only this time you donât hesitate, you return the kiss as you bring your hands to loop round his neck, your fingers sinking into the hair at the nape of his neck. Joel skims his hands down your sides resting them on your hips, a action that makes you gasp as you tilt youâre head up.
âIs this ok?â He whispers as he pulls back enough to rest his forehead against yours.
âYesâ you whisper back, running your fingers deeper into his dark graying hair. This action unlocks something deep inside Joel as he hooks his one hand around your lower back and the other around the back of your head pulling you closer to him. When you resume kissing itâs more passionate and frantic than before and as Joel licks along the seam of your bottom lip begging for entrance you tilt your head up immediately allowing him to deepen the kiss. As your warm wet tongues dance together the grip you two have on each other tightens. Neither of you wanting to show the other how terrified you both are of the other slipping through your fingers if you not holding on for dear life.
As you both pull back to catch your breath you canât help the giggle that escapes you.
âI guess itâs safe to say you liked your present?â
âItâs safe to say I like more than just the present sweetheartâ
He canât possibly be saying what I think heâs saying can he?â
âIâd invite you to watch a movie but I moved the only tv into the bedroom because it helps me sleep alone and I donât want to make you uncomfortableâ
What I wouldnât give to spend every night next to her. I never want her to feel alone.
âIâd be more than comfortable with that but only if you areâ
Christ I could get lost in the big hazel eyes of hers.
âI honestly would love thatâ youre trying to hide your smile not wanting to come off too eager but itâs impossible.
You lead the way to your bedroom, once inside you gesture to the bed, âyou can pick the movie and make your yourself comfortable Iâll be right back.â
You beeline it for the bathroom, splashing some water on your face and looking at yourself in the mirror. You take a few deep breaths trying to tamp down the anxiety.
Did I really just invite Joel Miller to watch a movie with me in my bed and he accepted? When did I get so bold?
Making your way back to the bedroom you see Joel sitting up with his back against the wall with the few pillows against the wall next to him.
The way your smiling at him makes him feel like itâs just you and him in this world, I feeling that nobody has ever given him before.
âWhy donât you have any pillows you rest your back on?â You say as you settle in next to him.
âI just want to make sure your comfortable, Iâll be fineâ
You laugh, that beautiful laugh Joel has come to love so much.
âWell I certainly donât need all of these, you should be comfortable tooâ you say as you hand him a couple.
Joel absolutely melts at this action. It speaks volumes to him that your advocating for his comfort as well as your own without even thinking about it or being asked too.
As heâs settling back against the pillows Joel notices you rolling one of your shoulders back as itâs itâs bothering you.
âYou alright sweetheart? Iâve been noticing you rolling youre shoulder a lot this week, it botherinâ you?â
âOh yea⌠itâs fine, I just tweaked it at the stables. Shimmers stables doors been sticking and the saddles are a little high for me sometimes, but itâs fine. I just gotta go easy on it for a bitâ
Joel feels a wave of concern mixed with anger, but not with you with himself.
I should of asked sooner, she shouldnât be getting hurt at work because of something I could of helped fixed. I need to go down there and fix something.
â let me take a look at it sweetheartâ
Youâre embarrassed, your sure he thinks your the biggest idiot as you turn facing your back to him.
âWhere does it hurt?â
âIt hurts kind of along my shoulder bladeâ
Joel starts feeling along your shoulder blade applying light pressure.
âUgh right in thereâ you quietly groan
âItâs a little swollen, maybe a pinched nerveâŚI could rub it, try to work it out for yâou if youâd be comfortable with that.â
âWaitâŚreally?â
âPlease donât feel like you have too, itâs okâ
âItâs no trouble sweetheartâ
Joel helps you settle back between his legs as he slips his hand into the neck of your shirt messaging his thumb along your shoulder.
Joel doesnât miss the relaxed sigh you breath out as your eyes get heavy and you slowly fall back until your back is completely flush again his chest, your head on his shoulder.
He wraps his arms around you tightly, looking down to see you completely asleep in his arms. He leans down softy placing a kiss on your forehead. Warmth slowly creeps up his spine, over his shoulders and deep into his chest. This is what safety feels like, you- are what safety feels like. Joel doesnât have to have his walls up with you. He can relax, let his guard down, not have to be in a constant state of fight or flight around you. The more Joel letâs this realization consume him, the heavier his eyes get and before he can stop it he starts dozing off.
He snaps awake 10 minutes later to the feeling of you squirming in his arms followed by the sounds of mumbles and whimpers in your sleep. You cry out briefly before you roll over, clutching him with your head buried in the crook of his and your chest flush against his own. Joel can feel your heart pounding against his chest.
âShhhh baby girl itâs ok, I got you. Youâre with me. Your safeâ Joel speaks softly rubbing his hands up and down your back.
The moment you hear his voices, the tension drains from your body and your cryâs stop as you fully relax against him.
âDonât leave me pleaseâŚI need you â youâre soft voice speaks against his neck
Joel holds you tightly, unable to shake the memory of you telling him that someoneâs voice was soothing to you, that it made you at ease when ever you heard it. Heâs 100% confident that you were talking about him.
âIm not goinâ anywhere sweetheartâ Joel says as he squeezes you tighter and kisses the crown of your head.
Your so incredibly raw and vulnerable in the moment as you look up at him, your eyes swirling with comfort mixed with fear as you sleepily sit up.
ââââââââââââââââââââââ
The next time Joel opens his eyes itâs early morning, your curled up to him, your head on his chest. He canât help but think he won the lottery. The idea that a women like you would take comfort in him, that youâd want him by youâre side. Joel will make it his mission to make sure you never feel alone again, that heâs by your side for the rest of your life. He doesnât know what he did to deserve you in his life because he sure as hell didnât feel like he deserved it.
Joelâs pulled from his thoughts by you sleepily stretch and sitting up. His hand is firmly on your lower back keeping you steady.
âYou sleep ok?â He asks slipping his hand under your shirt to rub your lower back.
âI donât think Iâve slept that deeply since before the outbreak, Iâve never really been a good sleeperâ
Christ sheâs so beautiful first thing in the morning, givinâ me that cute sleepy smile as she tells me how she slept well next to me.
âWhere you able to sleep?â
I canât tell her I slept better than I have In 20 something years.
âI did get some sleepâ
âYou hungry? We could go grab Ellie and get breakfast in the mess hallâ
Ellie. Fuck I have no idea if any of this is ok with Ellie. I canât do this to her. I donât want to drive a wedge between her and Joel or her and I. Sheâs been though enough I donât want her to think Iâm trying to break up there family.
â Oh, no itâs ok. You go a head Iâm sure you and Ellie have stuff to do todayâ you say as you you stiffen to sit up straight, the feeling of panic crashing in like a wave.
âNo itâs no trouble at all, she should just be over Dinaâs anywayâ Joel feels your body going ridged, he can tell by your eyes that somethings changing.
â I have so much to do at the library still before it can open, Iâm really not hungry. Iâll just grab something before breakfast ends.â You say swinging your legs over the side of the bed and hurriedly looking for clean clothes.
Joel feels it, he sees it your body langue that somethings wrong. He doesnât know what flipped the switch but heâs desperate to fix it.
âYou should take it easy on your shoulder, rest it so it donât get worseâ
Your body relaxes, your eyes softening briefly at him being protective, showing concern for your health before going ridged again.
âI promise Iâll go easy on my shoulder, I just desperately need to get some projects done. Everyoneâs counting on me to get it done and open soon.â Your voice sounds strained and pleading like your trying to convince yourself and much as you are him that you believe what your saying.
âCan I at-least walk you there?â
The walk into town was quiet, neither of you saying much. Just the silent sound of you both battling your own inner self doubt.
âYou sure you donât want breakfast?â
âIâm sureâŚ.Iâm not very hungryâ your voice is soft and strained, almost as if your trying to hold back tears.
Joel cups your face pulling your gaze up to meet his.
âYou let me know if you need anything sweetheart, canât have you hurtinâ your shoulder worse.â Joel drawls before leaning in, closing the gap and placing a soft kiss to your lips. You return the kiss briefly as you run your fingers over his patchy beard.
âI promise Iâll go easy on myselfâ
Joel canât shake the feeling that somethings wrong. You never skip breakfast because you get very hangry if you donât eat in the morning.
Did I scare her? Did I move to fast? Did I make her uncomfortable in some way?
It hits Joel like a ton of bricks as he turn onto his street.
Ellie. Sheâs worried about how Ellie will feel about us. Sheâs worried it will drive a wedge between her and I or with them.
Joel stops up the steps and frantically grabs his tool bag.
âYour to old to be staying out all night and then doing a terrible job sneaking back in the next morningâ Ellie teases behind Joel.
âI gotta do some extra work in the work shop and at the stables but when your done with your green house shift, we need to talkâ
Joelâs never had a way with words like most people, heâs never been eloquent speaker. His love language more came in the form of acts of severance or in words of affirmation. He spends the next few hours building a safe sturdy step stool for the saddles, fixing not just Shimmers stable door but all the horses stables doors so none of them had the possibility to stick and tinkering around and fixing up anything he could find.
You stay at the library for several hours trying completely the simplest tasks, but without much success. Your just going through the motions as your mind is a mile away, thinking about Joel.
Resigning to the fact that you were getting nothing done, you decided to go home to take a hot shower to sooth your racing mind.
As the hot water streams over your body and the steam fills your lungs your mind drifts to Joel. You havenât stopped thinking about how you can still feel his lips on yours. How he makes you feel seen and heard without any judgement what so ever.
Youre heart aches from how deep your feelings for Joel go, even if it feels like you donât deserve having him in your life. But you need to apologize to him for how abruptly you retreated back into yourself when the feelings felt to real this morning.
Joelâs nursing a glass of whisky when Ellie gets back from her shift at the green house.
âWhatâs up Joel, everything alright?â
âYea, nothinâ bad I just, I like someone and wanna talk about itâ
âOh congrats, your getting soft in your old age. Did you finally become friends with your horseâ
âJerk, no I like a woman. I like a woman, I wanna date her. But are you ok with that?â
âYour so bad at this, why are you being so awkward?â
âWeâll Christ, Iâve never done this before, had this kind of talk. I never brought anyone around Sarah. I donât know what Iâm doingâ
âWait⌠is this about Y/N?â
Joel nods cautiously
âMan you really are dense arenât you?â Ellie playfully pokes.
âWhatâs so funny?â
âJoel.. Iâve been trying to set you up with her since we got here. Tommyâs been helping tooâ
âWhat? Really? Youâre ok with it?â
âYou guys are perfect for each other, itâs so obvious you two really care about each other, at least it is too me because I get to spend time with you guys together away from everyone else.â
Joel just stairs at her stunned
âLook I never wanted to admit this because it sounds stupid, but the times when itâs just you, me and herâŚitâs feels like weâre a family, like I actually have the family Iâve been dying to have my whole life. She got to know us and excepted us the way we are without listening to all the whispers around town and I think thatâs fucking beautiful.â
âI gotta go see herâ
âI swear to god Joel donât fuck this up, sheâs the happiness we both deserve, but yes, go to her, go right nowâ
Joels out of the house and down the street before his brain catches up.
Your scrambling around the house trying to get dressed as fast as you can before you get to anxious and decide not to go to Joelâs when you hear a knock at the door.
âThe book drop off box is on the porchâ you yell down the hall, figuring someone was trying to pick up or drop off books they borrowed since you werenât at the library. But you hear who ever is is knock again.
âThe book pick up is also on the porchâ you yell again hoping the person hears you and gets the point, but they do it yet again. Completely flustered at this point you rip your shirt down over you head and pad angrily to the door.
âThe book drop off and pickâŚâ you aggressively swing the door open, stoping dead in your tracks at whoâs on the other side.
âJoelâ you whisper in surprise. All you can do is stare for a few beats to long at how the evening light highlights his already beautiful features.
âSorry, this a bad time sweetheart?â
âNoâŚsorry I just thought you were someone elseâ
You immediately pick up on his change In body langue and quickly follow up with âI just thought it was someone trying to pick up or drop off booksâ you watch as he relaxes right away again.
âIâŚI um was actually on my way over to your placeâ
Before either if you know it your smashing together in a kiss like two magnetâs. The kiss is all teeth and tongues, itâs desperate and awkward, messy and beautiful. Your both clutching on to each other like the other might fly away as Joel walks you backwards through the door way as he pushing the door closed with his foot.
As you both pull back for air Joel cradles your face with his large hands, caressing your cheek bones with the rough pads of his thumbs. His deep brown eyes lock with you hazel ones ands itâs as if they rest of the world doesnât exist, like itâs only the two of you left on earth.
âIâm so sorry about this morning, I wasnât trying to be weird. I-I I justâŚI scared myself with everythingâ
âItâs ok sweetheartâ Joel says as he kisses you softly.
âI talked to Ellie, sheâs ok with us being a thing. Honestly quiet excited about itâ
Youâre speechless for a moment, as you eyes start to well with tears.
âJoel, you didnât have to do that, Iâm sorry if you felt like you had tooâ
âI did have too, because itâs important to meâ
âItâsâŚitâs important to me that you didâ
At hearing that Joel lunges forward again capturing your lips in a kiss pulling you flush against his chest. He swallows the gasp that escapes your lips when he takes your bottom lip between his teeth. You snake your arms around his neck tugging the hair at the nape of his neck. The growl that, that action elicits vibrates through your chest.
âBedroom?â Joel grits out, his deep voice drips with desire mixed with love.
Joel canât convince himself otherwise any more, he loves you.
âBedroomâ you echo
Joelâs walking you backwards down the hall to your bedroom when he turns slightly pinning you against the wall just outside your bedroom.
âAre you sure about this sweetheart?â He pulls back just enough to lock eyes with you.
You nod your head yes.
âI need to hear you say it sweetheart. I donât want to push you farther than your comfortable going because i thought it was ok.â
âIâm sure about this Joel, I want itâŚI want youâ
Joel letâs out a low groan as he attaches his lips to your jaw, nipping his way long it until he reaches that soft spot where your jaw meets your neck. He sucks hard and then soothes the spot with his tongue as his hands sneak inside the hem of your shirt squeezing your plush sides. This earns him another tug at his hair as you let out a whimper. Joelâs head spins from how breathless you are already for him and he hopes you can tell how breathless he is for you.
Joel rips his shirt off at the feeling of you raking your hands up and down his chest. Heâs been touched starved for so long that the desperate need for your touch, to feel your skin on his takes over.
Most people wouldnât describe Joel as beautiful, but you always found him to be. You thought as you took in the sight of him shirtless.
Joel watches you nervously as you trace over old scars on his chest. Heâs afraid youâll want to run and hide from him bearing his soul to you in a way he never has or ever wanted too. But the moment you press your lips to the scars on his chest this worry melts away. You pepper every scar you can see across his chest, arms and shoulders with kisses before you make your way to his neck. You sneak your hands around him to slide them up his back as you reach his ear.
âEvery part of you is beautifulâ you whisper as you kiss along his jaw.
Joel feels dizzy from your words as your lips make it back to his. Never in his life has anyone ever called him beautiful much less been this tender and sensual with him. He canât get enough, as he grabs at your waist again. Pulling you tightly to him as he presses you firmly again the wall causing your shirt to ride up.
âItâs ok⌠you can take it offâ you breath
Joel wastes no time ripping your shirt up over your head.
âYour so fuckinâ gorgeousâ he growls as you arch into him so he can unhook your bra.
You let the straps slide down your arms until it falls to the floor between the two of you. Youâre mind goes blank from Joelâs intense gaze. Slowly he slides his hands up your torso to your breasts. They barely even touched you and your nipples are already hardened peaks. The sensation of him rolling them beneath his slightly calloused thumbs as heâs squeezing your breasts hits you hard. Your eyes flutter shut as your head falls back against the wall, if your not carful you might just climax from this alone.
âFuckâŚyour skins so softâ Joel growls as he pulls you away from the wall and into your bedroom, not stopping until your legs hit the end of your bed.
His eyes burn right through you as you slid your pants down, leaving yourself in just your panties as you climb on the bed.
The two of you hold each others gaze for a few beats as Joel undoes his belt and steps out of his pants. You instinctually spread your legs to make room for him as the bed dips down. He doesnât care how long he has to draw this out, Joelâs not stopping until heâs explored every inch of your body. Making you feel like the goddess that he sees you as.
Your eyes flicker from his eyes to his hard outline straining his boxers and back to his eyes. The way he playfully smirks at you makes you realize just how exposed you are to him, making you start to wrap your arms around your body to cover yourself.
âYou ok sweetheart?â Joel asks rubbing circles into your thighs.
âDo you want me to cover up some?â
âWhat?â
âWait why would I want you to cover up?â He half huffs, confused
âIm not the skinniestâŚI donât look as good as youâ
Joel hates the idea that someone(s) made you feel like you werenât worthy because your body isnât their ideal body. Heâs loves your curves, the plushness of your skin.
âEverything about you is gorgeous, and if it sâok id like to show you just how gorgeous I think you are.â
You frantically nod and with that Joel dips his body down kissing right above your clothed clit, pulling a whimper out of you. He then moves to your hips, kissing them both before kissing all the way up your stomach til he reaches your breasts.
He licks along the swell of your breast, pulling your peaked nipple in between his teeth as he palms the other one with his free hand. Then does the same to the other.
âSo fuckinâ sexyâ Joel whispers against your breast as he swings his leg over to straddle one of your legs.
He crashes forward, his rock hard bulge pressing into your hip to capture your lips in a passionate kiss. Your hands automatically plant firmly in his hair as his tongue dances with yours. Making his way down your neck sucking the soft skin where your shoulder meets your neck between his teeth, then sooth it with his tongue. You know itâs going to leave a mark, you want it too. Even if this is just for tonight, you want Joel to mark you as his. But you had no idea how much he wants that too. To make you his.
Joel plunges his tongue back into your mouth as he dips his free hand where you need it most. His finger grazes your clit has he slips it through your slit, deep into your core with a audible squelch. You both swallow each others moans.
A breathy moan escapes your lips as he gathers some of your wetness to your swollen clit with tight circles.
âChrist babyâŚyâso wet. This all from me?â Joel breathes, as you pull back. He wants to see the pleasure heâs giving you.
âAll dayâŚa-alwaysâ you breath unable to get more out.
âFuckâ Joel groans as he pulls down your panties, seating himself back between your legs.
âFuck..baby you feel sâgood around my fingersâ
Joelâs trusts his fingers in and out of you at a steady pace.
âJ-JoelâŚitâs feels s-s goodâ you say through a stifled whimper.
âDonât hold back baby. Lemme hear ya. Wanna hear how good I make you feel.â Joel purrs as heâs stroking that soft spongy spot so well.
Your climax crashes over you like a wave against a rocky coast. You couldnât stop even if you tried.
âFuu- J-JoelâŚit feels so goodâ
âThats it baby let goâ
You clench around his fingers perfectly as you fall over the edge.
âDoinâ so good for me sweetheart. Soundinâ so beautiful.â
Joel leaves a trail of kisses and praise in the valley between your breasts and down your stomach.
âCan I taste you sweetheart?â He growls as he nips at the insides of your thighs. Pupils blows wide open when you lock eyes with him.
âPleaseâ you whine
Joel gives a few kitten licks up your center to watch you squirm, then dives in like a starved man eating his last meal. You thrusted your hips forward grinding into his face desperately chasing anything heâll give you. Joelâs harder than heâs ever been before, head dripping with pre-come at the feeling of you grinding on his face to chase your release.
Heâd give you this every single day if youâd let him. He doesnât even care about his own release. He could drown in between your legs and die a happy man seeing the pleasure he gives you from his tongue on your face.

My brain is unwilling to let go of Twin AU prompts. Sorry for the long post lmao.
Jazz and Jason are getting pretty serious in their relationship, and honestly, theyâve both been hesitant to introduce their family members to one another despite constantly talking about them. Theyâve been dating since she started her doctoral studies at Gotham U and sheâs about to defend her dissertation, so it really is about time. He saved her in her first week as the Red Hood and he immediately felt at home with her (something, something liminal), she runs into him the next day at a coffee shop and thanks him for taking the time to help her.Â
Identities are obviously blown. Jason knows that her brother works in âpoliticsâ and her younger sister is a travel blogger, and that the three of them donât talk to her mad scientist parents anymore. Jazz knows that he came back from the dead, his adoptive family had a slew of issues in addition to their hero-complexes and that he would be prepared to kill for any one of his siblings. Their communication skills are top notch.Â
But then came the issue of actually meeting the family. Like Jazz knows all of the drama between the siblings but could not pick them out of a line up, or more importantly, know who to talk to if an emergency situation came up. Jason agrees, that yeah, it would probably be for the best if he could at least identify her little brother and sister if they had to like, meet at hospital or something.Â
So that was the plan. Invite just siblings over to their shared apartment, no parents and no fuss. (She even called Danny ahead of time to tell him not to portal straight into the apartment, he needed to walk in the door like a normal person. They could share Ghost King secrets later.)Â
Tim arrives first, heâd been working a case nearby and Jazz & Jason live pretty close to a nice coffeeshop, so he stopped along the way. Heâd done some creeping to figure out that she drinks Chai so he brought one for her. Creepy and yet, endearing.Â
Ellie comes in second from the window, launching into a story about how annoying it was to find the place with all the gloom, didnât this city have any respect for the dead? Tim doesnât get it but Jason is laughing along so Tim files it away for later.Â
Dick comes in with a shit ton of Pizza he panic ordered, a fruit bouquet and two bottles of wine from Bruceâs cellar. Duke came along with him, a large tupperware of Alfredâs cookies.Â
Then Steph, Babs and Cass show up, immediately treating Jazz like family while also being hella suspicious about the whole thing. She notices them looking at her hands and Jazz explains that no, they werenât doing this because Jason proposed. Steph and Cass are annoyed at Jason but tell Jazz she could do better if she wanted. Babs is happy they arenât rushing into anything (sheâs the only one besides Tim that knows how long theyâve been dating- this is just to throw out a red herring for the others)
Everyone is getting along and having a great time, Ellie being a natural entertainer along side Dick, everyone trying to tell embarrassing stories about Jason. Loud noises are coming from the hallway when they realize that neither Damian nor Danny had arrived.Â
Rushing out the door, the boys are alternating putting each other into choke holds and arguing about not being clones. Danny keeps phasing out of Damianâs grip and Damian keeps pulling out more knives. The hallway looks like it had been blown up and the two are continuing to yell at one another about going to a family dinner. Jason and Jazz just stare at them from the doorway, and wouldnât you know it, they look like fucking twins.Â
Jazz grabs Danny, Jason grabs Damian, and everyone is fucking confused. Both sides of the family can confirm growing up with the twins, that neither are a clone. Ellie helpfully supplies that sheâs the clone and that opens a whole other bag of chaos.Â
Eventually they get everyone to sit down for dinner and the night gets weirder from there.Â

Sex, Drugs, And Rock & Roll
Tags / cw: AFAB reader, guitarist!ellie, making out, smut, weed, mirror sex, hair pulling, mirror sex
It was no secret that the green room at the back of the club was used as more than a pitstop before and after performing, and if there was someone out there that was still unaware of that, the many noises Ellie was currently drawing out of you could definitely attest to it.
But in your defence, it would be hard to not be quiet with how she had you bent over the vanity that was shaking and thumping against the wall from her rhythmic thrusts. And thank god for the sound proofing in there, because all of your 'ah, ah, ah's being let out in tandem with every time she pounded her strap into you, and Ellie's breathy gasps whenever it put pressure on her clit would have been rather embarrassing to explain to her bandmates later on; but it's not like the two of you gave a shit about that right now.
But fuck later on, because right now, all you could focus on was how her cock was slamming into your sweet spot with the perfect amount of pressure, and how sexy your girlfriend looked through the reflection of the vanity mirror. Yea, Ellie was totally making you watch as she fucked you hard, a joint in her mouth, one hand holding a bruising grip on your waist, and the other holding a fistful of your hair to keep your head up to make sure you didnât look away (as if you would though, with the sight she was giving you).
âYâgonna fucking take it, wonât you baby? Take my fucking cock like a slut, yeah?â Ellie grunted, words muffled by the joint between her lips.
And maybe if you werenât high, cockdrunk, and halfway to cumming again you could have answered her, but instead all you could do was cry and babble out her name while she fucked you. The sight of it all - you screaming her name as your red eyes rolled back, your ass all raw and red from being slammed against her hips, and the little ring of white forming at the base of her cock - it made Ellie laugh at how easy it was to ruin you.
âOohhh yeah you are- shit baby- youâre gonna fucking. take it. all.â
Each word was punctuated with an especially hard thrust from Ellie, causing you to edge closer and closer to release as you begged and pleaded for more. She barked out an incredulous laugh at that, you were acting as if she had barely even touched you, when in reality she was balls deep in your dripping pussy.
âMore? You want more you fucking slut?â Ellie slowed her thrusts,
âFucking beg for it, go on. Then Iâll give you moreâ
It was like she was making fun of your request, with how she kept her slow pace until the sounds of your âpleasepleasepleaseâ filled the air. And it was then, and only then, that she gave you what you wanted.
Stopping her slower pace with one, hard thrust into you that left you dizzy, Ellie pulled out and lifted you up by the waist and onto the vanity - you now on your knees with your hands against the mirror to balance yourself. You looked at Ellie through the mirror in confusion, but all you were met with was her lazily smirking at you while inhaling from the joint. And as she exhaled, she hoisted her right leg up onto the vanity, grabbed your ass with both hands, and slammed right back into you.
âŚTo say you screamed was an understatement. Actually, it was like a loud, wounded yelp, more animal than human. The new position Ellie had you in meant her strap could reach much deeper than before, with her cock now kissing your cervix with fervour each time she thrusted up into you. And god, that coupled with her staggered groans got you real fucking close.
And Ellie could definitely tell, what with how your moans started getting bigger pitched and more breathy, how your knees started to buckle a little, and how your eyes started to get that faraway look in them. It made her want to fuck you so much harder, but she knew that changing the pace now of all times would ruin your oncoming orgasm. So she resorted to taking her left hand off your ass, making sure to trail it up your back which sent shivers back down your spine.
Finally, she settled it around your throat, thumb and index finger squeezing hard enough that your head started to get all fuzzy and your vision cloudy, as she started kissing and sucking at the back of your shoulders with a tenderness that contrasted the harsh manner of how she was fucking you. Small black dots swam around in your vision from the lack of blood flow to your head, and the dizziness coupled with her other hand making itâs way around to rub small, tight circles on your puffy clit was what pushed you over the edge.
Holy shit did Ellie relish how you cried out her name - at this point your moans were just broken and incoherent, your voice all raspy and constantly breaking every time you tried to speak. She fucked you through your high fast and hard, slowing down only when your whines turned into whimpers. And at some point in the hazy midst of it all Ellie realised she was cumming, too, as her thrusts morphed into slow grinding into your pussy, the pressure of the strap angled perfectly on her clit. Joint still in her mouth, she tried not the grit her teeth at the mind numbing pleasure - reminding herself to thank whoever said that weed made fucking so much better.
It took a few moments for the both of you to regain your senses, and it was your little whines that reminded Ellie that her hand was still squeezed around your throat. Quickly, Ellie released her grip as she pulled out of you, causing you to gasp in at the combination of it all. And maybe it was the weed or something, but the feeling of all that blood rushing back to your head right after cumming made you feel all dizzy again.
Ellie was quick to help you back down from the vanity, taking the joint out of her mouth and leaving it on the table before taking you to the couch against the wall as she whispered and cooed about how good you were. She laid you down and then got up, stumbling around the room for something to quickly clean yourselves up with. What she returned with was something oddly familiar, however.
âEllie, is that my underwear?â
âItâs meant to be there, anyways. Whatâs the big deal?â She shrugged, while wiping up whatever was between your legs still with the small garment.
Afterwards, she threw off the strap, retrieved the joint. and flopped dramatically on top of you, much to your protests. But you couldnât be mad at your girlfriend for long, as she peppered kisses all over your face while giggling at how you scrunched your nose at her antics. It would be blissful for a while, just the two off you, passing the weed and holding each other close. That is, until a sharp, rapid knock on the door reminded you both of where you two were.
âShows over, lovebirds. Ellie, get your fucking ass out here, weâre on in five minutesâ called out a male voice, the drummer - you presumed - in Ellieâs band.
Ellie groaned, rolling her eyes and glaring at the door as she took another puff from the joint.
âFuck off, Jesse. We were having a moment hereâ
âUh huh. Less fucking more moving, or weâll start without you!â Jesseâs voice faded out slowly as he walked away. And when his footsteps finally disappeared, Ellie returned her gaze back down to you and sighed.
âYou heard him, baby. I gotta go to work nowâ She said in playful defeat.
You nodded let her climb off of you to get dressed, giggling at how she did the little jump-shimmy to get her jeans on (and you also stared a little, at how it showed her ass) and then sat up on the couch to slowly get dressed, too. Then, out of your peripheral, you saw Ellie freeze on her way to the door and slowly turn to you with a mischievous smile.
âBuuttt, we technically have three out of those five minutes left, Yknow..â
And before you could even reply, Ellie ran back and jumped onto your lap, straddling your thighs. She let out a giggle before grabbing your face roughly and kissing you, hard. She nipped at your bottom lip and sucked on your tongue, letting out pleased groans when your hands started travelling from holding her waist to squeezing her ass. And while your mouth travelled lower and lower, beginning to suck a mark right at the column of her throat, Ellie took a deep inhale of the joint and gripped your chin upwards to blow it into your mouth. She made sure to keep eye contact during the entire time, and instead of letting you exhale right away, she locked your lips with hers once again before pulling away.
âPretty girlâŚâ she murmured, watching your hazy red eyes as you let the smoke pour out of your mouth.
Leaning in again for one more slow, deep kiss, before finally sitting back, Ellie pulled away reluctantly and stood up. She started walking to the door before glancing back at you.
âGotta go for real now. Wish me luck?â You smiled.
âGood luck, Ellieâ
âDonât need itâ She whispered, while back looking at you softly.
And once she was out the door and running to make it to the stage on time, you finally got up from the couch. On shaky legs, you started picking up all your clothes that were thrown half hazardly around the room to put them on. Except there was one small issue: where the fuck were your panties?
(And maybe later, after watching the video of your girlfriend performing that night, would you notice the small black lace hanging from her back pocket. A good luck charm, as Ellie called it.)

Summary: You, Joel, and Ellie have been a trio from the start. You were a family, but you find your relationship with Joel withering when he starts to pull away. Now a new comer makes her way into Jackson and into Joelâs heartâŚ
âJoel.â
Two months have gone by since that day and everything seemed to be slowly slipping away from your fingers. You were having trouble adjusting, but you were having even more trouble at the thought of loosing Joel.
âJoel.â Your fingers wrapped around his arm and you gently shook him.
He didnât touch her or kiss her, but her presence was just there. Always around him. Always driving a wedge between the two of you.
âJoel. Itâs time to wake up.â You spoke softly.
It hurt and so you argued more than you ever have. Even before when you were a firefly, neither of you argued this much. You argued until there was nothing left. Until your breath could barely keep you alive.
His eyes opened to find you kneeling beside him on the floor. You were beautiful⌠You were always beautiful to him. He glanced to the window where the sun was already high up in the sky.
âWhere are the others?â He asked.
âEllie is at the barn again, apparently sheâs got a real knack in taking care of the horses. You two might just get your sheep farm on the moon soon.â You spoke softly as you brushed loose curls away from his face.
His hair was getting longer and it made you smile, âYou need a haircut love.â
âDonât wanna do it.â He mumbled.
âIâll do it later tonight.â You rubbed your thumb against his cheek, taking in the precious moment between the two of you.
He leaned into your touch making your heart jumped before worried settled in at the dark circles under his eyes.
âYou need to stop sleeping on the couch Joel.â You sighed as you rubbed his arm, âYou need your bed.â
âBut you needââ He began to say, but you didnât let him finish.
âI know.â You sighed before getting up, âCome, we have to meet with Maria and Tommy soon. Maria says she has some good news.â
Joel nodded his head as he sat up, his back aching from the couch. If only he was younger, this would feel like nothing. Maybe then he wouldnât be so insecure when it came to you. He silently got up and made his way to the bathroom to get ready.
You were pouring him some coffee when he appeared in the kitchen.
âYour shirt is on backwards.â You spoke teasingly.
âShit.â He muttered as he took off his shirt because you were in fact right.
You couldnât help the way your eyes raked over his chest. He wasnât overly fit, but he had muscles where it count. Your cheeks heat up as you remember the night you were able to touch him, run your hands across his chest over each scar he had. You didnât realize how much you missed that and the only thing you could do is bite your lip to keep yourself from hopping across the counter and jump him.
âAnd what about Heather?â Joel asked once his shirt was fixed.
You took a sharp breath and your feelings turned sour, âSheâs with Mikel.â You explained shortly.
His brows furrowed, âMikel is supposed to be on patrol today.â
You nodded your head, âHeâs going to be teaching her the ropes now that sheâs been here for a while and settled in.â
âI could have done that.â He stated gruffly, âAfter what sheâs been through, she is not very trusting towards anyone.â
You took in a sharp breath, âEveryone has been through something Joel.â You said carefully, âI asked Maria about it and we agreed Mikel would be a great fit for her. I was on a route with him when you disappeared, heâs my age and very capable of protecting her if need be.â You encouraged, âBesides, you and I go on patrol, you wouldnât have the time to do both.â
âSo you decided this on your own without asking me about my opinion?â He asked gruffly, a sharp edge to his tone.
You looked down at the counter. You were too embarrassed to admit that you did decide without asking him because you were scared he wouldnât choose you.
âItâs you and I.â You stated as your voice wavered, âItâs been you and I.â
Silence grew between the two of you.
âNot always.â He finally said in a tone so soft you wouldnât think it would come from Joel Miller himself.
And boy did what he say hurt you then any physical fight you have ever been in. What could you say to him? To be able to have him hold you in his arms again? To stop dragging you through rusted nails⌠You just wanted to stop hurting and he just kept pounding on the nails with a hammer.
âI am here now.â Your voice wavered, âStanding right in front of you. I am here, alive and bleeding out to you.â
You could see the wavering look in his eyes, âYouâre too young.â
You held your ground, âYou canât keep pushing me away Joel.â
He shook his head, deciding that staring at the wall behind your seemed more interesting then the tears forming in your eyes, âI canât do that to you.â
âDo what?â You quickly walked around the counter to face him, âLove me? Because if so why did you kiss me huh? Why did you touch me? Why give me hope that you could actually love me back? Tell me then. Tell me that you donât love me.â
Your fury grew when his silence lingered.
âTell me Joel!â You yelled at him and in that moment you were glad that Ellie wasnât in the house.
He didnât answer⌠He didnât want to because he knew what he would say and he knew that would be the end of him. Instead he turned and did what he always did⌠Keep everything buried.
âCome on. Weâll be late.â He turned and walked to the front door without touching the coffee you made him.
You glared at him with nothing with but a heart filled with fiery, âItâs because you love me too. Isnât it?â
His shoulders stiffened, but that was all the answer he would give you as he walked away.
You gave a small sigh before following after him.
It was long before you were hopping up the steps to Tommy and Mariaâs home. Joel trailed behind you as you knocked on the door.
Not even a moment later and Maria was greeting you with her famous smile.
âGood morning.â You returned her smile and gave her a hug.
She gave you a tight squeeze, âGood morning.â She ushered you both inside, âTommyâs making breakfast or at least trying to.â
âOh boy.â You breathed out a laugh as the two of you followed her into their little breakfast nook by the kitchen.
âMornin.â Joel greeted his brother.
You pulled out Joelâs chair before taking your seat as Maria brought over two mugs of tea.
âThank you, I needed this.â You breathed out as you held the mug.
Your eyes then flickered to Joel pulling out a chair and sitting across from you.
Of course heâd do that. You sighed. Always one for the dramatics.
You were upset that he didnât want to sit next to you, but you figured it was because of the conversation you both had earlier. Maria took a seat beside you instead, a small smile on her face as she watched Tommy bring over what was a poor attempt at omelets.
âDonât say one word.â Tommyâs voice was playful as he barely scolded Maria.
Maria raised her hands up in mock surrender, âI didnât say anything.â
âYou didnât have to.â Tommy huffed with a small laugh as he took his seat as the head of his table.
âI think that food speaks for itself.â Joel joked.
âIt looks⌠Edible none the least.â You murmured as you picked out egg shells, âYou wont hear me complaining.â
âItâs perfect hunny.â Maria smiled as she leaned over a placed a kiss on Tommyâs cheek.
Your heart melted at the sight and an ache filled it. You could only dream of being that way with Joel⌠The things you would do just to get that man to show you that he loved you too.
The rest of breakfast was going over the upkeep of Jackson and the repairs that needed to be done. Apparently Liza and Julioâs spotted one of the perimeter fences on the east wall being bent inward from the snow the has been pilling up against it and some of the vegetables arenât doing so well with the cold.
âWe should get a group together to fix the fence first.â You said, âI can help out as well.â
âAs for the vegetables⌠This winter is a lot worse then the previous ones weâve had. We will have to make do with the vegetable we got until we get to warmer weather.â Maria stated.
âThat sounds good.â Tommy agreed, âAnd I will put together a team after our breakfast to start working on the wall. Iâll let you know if we need any help, but thank you for the offer.â
âOf course Tommy.â You nodded your head.
âI also want to switch patrol routes with Mikel.â Joel announced at the table as breakfast was beginning to come to an end.
You looked away from your food and towards him within a second of his words appearing from his mouth, âWhy? I thought our route for this week was pretty good.â
âNo. I want Mikel to start taking you out on patrol.â He stated simply.
You dropped your fork, âWhy? Did I do something wrong? Is this about earlier?â
âNo.â He said again and you swore it was his favorite word, âYou said it yourself. Heâs younger and stronger. That means he can protect you.â
âI donât want him to protect me.â You glowered, âI have you.â
âNo. You donât.â He stated gruffly, âYou canât rely on me forever.â
âIâm not relying on you! I pull my weight just as much as you do. Weâre a team and you canât just split us up.â You yelled at hi, âI wonât let you.â
He stood up abruptly with a scowl, âEnough! Fuck just listen to me for once! Iâm doing this for you!â
âFor me?â You stood up as well with a scoff, âYou know what, Iâll listen to you when you start making sense Joel!â
âI donât want you! Can you listen to that?!â He yelled and suddenly the room went silent.
âFuck you Joel.â You murmured before storming away.
âHave your fucking switch then! See if I care!â You yelled before slamming the door.
âGood job Joel.â Maria rolled her eyes. She stood up and began to collect the dishes, âWhen are you going to stop being an asshole and realize that you need her just as much as she needs you?â She stated before walking away to put the dishes in the sink.
She rushed to the door to put on her shoes and coat before going to find you. You were more important to her than some dirty dishes that she can clean later.
Joel sighed as he slumped down into his seat.
âWhatâs going on brother?â Tommy asked.
Joel didnât speak, not for a few minutes. He was trying his best to keep himself from loosing his shit.
âNothing.â He mumbled.
âWell thatâs a stupid answer coming from you.â Tommy laughed.
âIâm old Tommy.â Joel sighed.
âYeah.â Tommy laughed, âWeâre all old and whatâs your point?â
âSheâs not.â He stated simply.
A realization dawned across Tommyâs voice, âIs that why you are pushing her away?â
âShe deserves more than an old man.â Joel sighed in defeat, âI just wish she would see that.â
âThatâs not for you to decide.â Tommy pointed out, âThatâs her decision and I can see that sheâs not going to change it.â
âBut I can help her change it.â Joel said as he looked up at his brother, âJust help me make her see that. That Mikel kid or whoever could be good for her. She needs someone her age and I need someone my age. Thatâs how it should be.â
âSo what? Is that why youâre so attached to Heather? Because you feel like youâre not enough for the girl who has been in love with you for months just because sheâs a little younger?â
âItâs not just a little younger.â Joel grumbled,
Tommy shook his head as he stood up, âIâm not going to help you break her heart.â
âYou did this with Ellie too and look how that turned out?â
Tommy placed a hand on Joelâs shoulder, âYou deserve happiness too, brother.â
âAnd she deserves someone who is strong enough to protect her.â Joel replied, a solemn tone to his voice.
You soon found yourself scrubbing aggressively at the bar counter.
âFuck him.â You grumbled as you cleaned, âAnd not in the good way. Not like heâs been wanting that lately.â
Maria nodded her head, âIâll admit he is being a dick.â
âWhoâs being a dick?â Ellie hopped up on a barstool.
âJoel.â You and Maria both said at the same time.
That is until you did a double take to see that it is Ellie.
âArenât you supposed to be working at the barn?â You asked inquisitively, âWhat are you doing here?â
âI finished all my tasks and saw you both in the window. Why is Joel being a dick?â
âSweetie, you canât call him that.â You scolded her lightly, âAnd heâs not⌠Heâs justâŚâ
âBeing a dick.â Maria stated simply.
Her input made the three of you burst out laughing. You smiled at the lighten mood as you reached for a glass. You poured Ellie some water before setting it infront of her.
âCanât I get some of that?â She asked, pointing to your glass that you were currently filling with whiskey.
You shook your head, âNot until youâre old enough.â
âBut itâs the apocalypse?â Ellie looked at you confused.
âDoesnât mean someone as young as you can drink.â You crossed your arms.
Ellie sighed, âYes mom.â
âMaybe just talk to him later tonight. Find the real reason about his decision.â Maria advised.
I nodded my head before looking at Ellie, âIâm not going to lie to you. Joel and I are arguing. Can you please stay with Maria and Tommy tonight so I can talk to him?â
Ellie nodded her head slowly, âWhy are you two arguing? Is it because of Heather cause if so I donât like her.â
I sighed, âItâs hard to explain and even harder to talk about it. I wonât talk badly about your dad, not in front of you.â
It was late by the time you went home after you dropped Ellie off at Maria and Tommyâs. They gave you some good news that cheered you up a bit. It might just be the change you both needed. Now all you had to do was tell him. You were just trying to get the courage to step inside your front door.
You finally stepped inside and was met with the lights being on, but no one around.
âJoel?â You called out to him as you took your shoes off.
He didnât answer you, but you could hear soft muffled voices coming from upstairs. You took a step, each one leading you up the stairs and down to Joelâs room⌠The door was already wide open and an unwelcome feeling filled your gut as you got closer. You werenât sure if you wanted to know what lied behind the doorway.
Your body however, carried you into the room. Relief filled your chest at seeing the bed empty and left how you made it in the morning. You glanced around the room to the light that flooded out from the bathroom. You stepped closer to the door, a female laugh fluttering from it making your stomach twist and your chest tighten at what you saw.
Joel sat on a stool that was definitely taken from the kitchen and a bath towel draped around him. Heather stood with a pair of scissors as she cut at the ends of his hair. This was thing that you were supposed to do not her.
âYouâre cutting his hair.â Your voice was dull as you repeated what you saw.
âOh! Yes, I forgot my hair tie when I left this morning so I came back and overheard you telling Joel that he needed a haircut and I thought I might help out and give him one.â Heather smiled at you.
You bit the inside of your cheek. Your gaze flickered to Joelâs who was staring at you from the mirror. He could see the fallen expression on your face and the way that you were holding back your tears.
âI think she can finish my hair Heather.â Joel said without taking his eyes off of you.
âButâŚâ Heather tried to say something else, but he cut her off.
âThank you.â He said simply.
Heather released a huff before walking towards you and handing you the scissors before leaving.
âCâmere.â He spoke with a gentleness in his tone that you havenât heard in months. That tone always made you shiver and you felt like he knew that. Of course he did, heâs fucking observant when he wants to be.
You felt like your emotions were going to explode as you stepped towards him. The events of earlier today and now walking in on seeing the person you wanted to punch in the face touching your Joelâs hair⌠You were either going to punch the man or kiss him depending on his explanation.
âI know you wanted to do it, but she was insistent that she could do it because she used to cut her husbandâs hair before he died and she missed it⌠I had a hard time saying no.â He explained carefully as if he were talking to a stray cat and maybe you were in that moment, but his explanation seemed to apease you enough.
You nodded your head. You didnât want to argue, not after today. You ran your fingers through his hair before taking a few strands to trim.
âI donât like how we left off earlier.â You spoke softly.
âI know.â Joel sighed, âI donât either.â
âI really donât want to go on patrol with Mikel. I want to stay with you.â You pleaded lightly.
Joel furrowed his brow, âThatâs not up for debate.â
âIt shouldnât even be on the table.â You muttered as you took another strand of his hair, a huff passing your lips in frustration, âI dont like the way she cut your hair.â
Joel chuckled and warmth filled your stomach at the sound, âThen fix it firefly.â
You continued to cut Joelâs hair the way you knew he liked it. The way that it made you want to run your fingers through his hair every second of the day. After some time in a peaceful silence, you spoke up to tell him about the news you heard from Maria and Tommy when you dropped Ellie off earlier.
âI have some good news.â You spoke timidly, âAbout Heather.â
âWhat is it?â He asked.
âWell⌠Maria and Tommy just informed me that Tris will gladly take Heather as a roommate. Apparently, theyâve been getting along really well together since Heather arrived here. Trisâs house is as big as ours and she says feels lonely having the house to herself.â
Joel took a moment to respond before he asked, âDoes Heather know about this yet?â
âNot yet.â You whispered, âMaria and Tris are going to come by for lunch tomorrow to talk it over.â
âI see.â Joel nodded.
âHey.â I giggled lightly as I barely smacked him on the shoulder, âDonât move your head or do you want to go bald?â
âI prefer my hair thanks.â Joel grumbled with a small chuckle.
You smiled when he held still, âBetter.â
When you finished trimming his hair it looked much neater and yet it had an un-tameness to it that made you bite your bottom lip. You felt a terrible idea pop into your head as you set the pair of scissors down before standing behind Joel. He looked at himself in the mirror with contomept.
âIt looks good.â He agreed with your thoughts.
You ran your fingers through his hair as if you were smoothing it out until your fingers curled and you began to massaged his scalp.
His reaction was almost immediate as he leaned back against you on the stool. You could see his eyes roll to the back of his head as he let out a quite hm. It made you want to laugh at how pliable he was when you massage his head.
âI like it too.â You murmured to which he couldnât quite process.
âMm.â He agreed.
âHow was your day?â You asked when you spotted the way his face scrunched up in pain when he moved his body.
âHad to rebuild that fence, go huntin with Tommy.â He murmured with a grunt, âFound a buck.â
âYou must be exhausted. It was really cold today.â You continued to massage his head.
âTwas nothin.â He replied, but you knew better. You knew how sore he could get after a long day.
âI think itâs time we should head to bed, hm?â You asked in a soft tone as to not startle him.
âMmhm.â He agreed without a second thought.
You leaned down a pressed a gentle kiss to the top of his head, âCome on then.â
You took the towel off his shoulders before leading him to his bed. He was too exhausted to argue with you as you made him lie down. You took his jeans, leaving him in his boxers and shirt as you covered him with his blanket.
âGood night Joel.â You whispered to him.
Your plan was to sleep on the couch tonight so that he could get some rest. You quietly slipped out of the room once you headed his breath even out. Your footsteps padded across the cold wood floors. You made sure to grab an extra blanket before padding over to the couch that Joelâs been using as a bed this past week. Of course his blanket was neatly folded on the side table with his pillow placed on top.
A small hum slipped passed your lips as you began to make your bed for the night. Hopefully it will be as comfortable as Joel has tried to make you believe.
âYouâre really desperate arenât you.â A voice carried its way from the kitchen entrance.
âExcuse me?â You turned to Heather with a shocked look.
âDesperation itâs dripping off of you like melted snow.â Heather said as if she was talking about the weather, âAnd your insecurity too, very unflattering might I add. When did your father die? I just want to know when your daddy issues started or have you always had a thing for older men?â
I stood up straight as I glared at you, âJust whatâs your plan here? You really think you can throw insults at me and I would just crumble?â
âOh Iâm not insulting you at all. Iâm just saying what I see and I donât see much. Goodnight.â She smiled before walking away, leaving you there fuming.
What in the world was that about?
âI canât wait for her to get out of my fucking house.â You muttered as you lied down on the couch.
You came to as you felt the warm glow of the sun hit your face. You stretched your arms as you yawned, rolling over to stretch further on your bed. Only you werenât on your bed and you soon felt gravity as you fell onto the floor with a thud.
âOwâŚâ You groaned as you blinked your eyes open.
âMornin.â Came Joelâs deep voice that felt like melted butter and whiskey.
âFuck⌠Donât do that.â You groaned as you rubbed your eyes with the palms of your hand.
His brows furrowed in confusion, âDo what?â
âSay morninâ like you just came back from doing hard labor.â You huffed.
âBut I did just come back from doing that.â He chuckled.
He did? Wait. Is his shirt off?
âHuh?â You asked dazed.
You tilted your head to find him leaning against the entry way with a mug of coffee in his hand, shirt intact. A bubble of disappointment filled your face until you spotted his smirk.
Shit⌠He knew what I was thinking. Of course he did.
You grumbled incoherent words, no doubt insults towards the older man as you stood up.
Joel watched you get up, he couldnât help it. His eyes traced the skin visible from where your shirt had risen up as you slept. It was only, but a second before he shook those unwelcome thoughts away.
âTalked with Tommy, Ellie wants you to work with her at the barn.â Joel relayed the message he was given, âSheâs waitin for ya.â
âWork at the barn? But Iâm not that good with horsesâŚâ You sighed lightly in defeat, âBut for Ellie, Iâll go get ready.â
âAtta girl.â He was grinning now and you knew he was remembering the last time you tried to saddle up your horse.
You werenât bad at taking care of and saddling up horses so to say⌠You just werenât that good at it either.
âDonât.â You muttered.
âWasnât going to.â He mused as he took a sip of his coffee.
You padded over to him and reached your hand out, âGimme.â
He raised an eyebrow at you, âGet your own, firefly.â
âI donât want to get my own. I just want a sip. Please.â You reached towards his mug again.
He didnât even try to pull it away from you. He just let you grab the mug out of his hand and drink the coffee he made for himself. How he was, the way he acted⌠It was like before.
Was this all because I massaged his head? You mused to yourself as you took another sip of his coffee. You couldnât take your eyes off of his rugged handsome face. He looked a lot more rested. You noted.
You also noticed the way his eyes seemed to be staring at the way your lips wrapped around the rim of his mug.
âMorning you two!â The spry voice had you jumping.
You had forgotten that she was here.
âMorning.â Joel greeted.
You nodded at her, not wanting to greet her with a good morning after the way she spoke to you last night. You wondered if you should tell Joel what she said⌠Then you wondered if he would believe you over her.
He was in such a good mood though, you didnât want to ruin anything.
âTris and Maria are coming by for lunch, they want to talk to you about something.â You said to her as politely as you possibly could.
âThey did? Well I donât have any work today so I suppose I can tidy up the house a bit and make lunch for when they arrive.â Heather agreed.
As long as she agrees to moving out then I donât care what she does.
Heather then poured herself a cup of coffee before looking towards Joel, âDo you want a cup handsome?â She asked him with a light tone.
A scowl made its way onto your face. You held up the mug you were holding towards her.
âHeâs got some, but thanks.â You stated smugly as you handed Joel his coffee mug back.
He brought his mug up to his lips and took a sip from where your lips were just moments before. He looked none the wiser at the two women about to scratch each otherâs eyes out. Of course he didnât. Joel was never good at feelings.
You could see a scowl quickly appear and disappear on Heatherâs face before she was back to her cheerful self.
âOkay, well thereâs more here if anyone wants some.â She said before taking a sip.
You left the two and emerged fifteen minutes later dressed and ready to head out. Joel who was now sitting at the kitchen table with Heather talking about how Joel had to go help his brother today so he couldnât help Heather clean the house.
You stepped up beside Joel, standing next to him while he remained seated. You ran your right hand through his freshly trimmed haircut, something that he didnât mind at all.
âIâm going to head out to see Ellâs. Do you want me to pick up anything while Iâm gone?â You asked him and only him.
Heather was leaving soon. You thought dismissively. Good riddance.
âWeâre out of carrots. Maybe the two of you can stop by the garden and pick some up?â Joel asked.
You nodded your head as your hand traveled down to the side of his neck, âAnything else?â You asked as you rubbed the sliver of skin that wasnât hidden by his flannel.
âNoâŚâ Joel said, his voice much lower than before as he glanced down at his coffee mug.
You gave Heather a triumphant look before stepping away, âSee you later.â You waved them off before leaving.
It wasnât long before I was met with an excited Elli who jumped on my back the moment she saw me.
âSoooo? How did it go? Was my leaving all for not?â She pressed, wanting to get all the gossip, âShall I get my pitchfork?â
âI think everything went well.â I said as I smiled softly to myself.
I carried her over to the stables, trying my best not to topple over with the growing girl. I aware she was getting taller by the day.
âMaria told me that Heatherâs finally leaving!â Ellie fist pumped the air by my head, âDude, I swear she is weird as hell. Definitely hiding a bomb or something.â
I laughed as I set her down by the barn doors, âI couldnât agree with you more.â
I faced her with my hands on my hips, âNow little bug. What is our mission today?â
A wide grin spread across her face as she clapped her hands, âHave you ever trimmed hooves before?â
My face fell, âDonât tell meâŚâ
âYep!â Ellie exclaimed, âGet ready to possibly be bit, stepped on, and kicked.â
My eyes widened at her words.
âLetâs get to it!â Ellie stated as she grew open the barn doors.
âOh boy.â I sighed, but followed my daughter nonetheless.
The sun was high in the sky by the time you and Ellie were walking down our street. The two of you were holding hands as Ellie swung your linked hands as hard as she could. Your other hand was carrying a small bag of carrots that Joel had asked for and you hoped heâd be pleased that you remembered.
The two of you were laughing as Ellie recounted your great fail at trying to keep Buttercup still.
âI still canât believe she pushed you over.â Ellie laughed as you both walked into the house, âJoel!â She yelled.
The two of your were giggling as you entered the living room to find the two of them on the couch. Heather was in a mess of tears, clinging to Joel who was trying to console her.
âUhâŚâ Ellieâs voice trailed off in confusion, âWhatâs going on?â
You left to place the bag of carrots on the kitchen counter before returning to the living room to listen to Joel explain.
âSheâs having a panic attack.â Joel explained as Heather buried her face into his shirt.
He was quick to pull her into his side and settle her. That movement made you frown as you watched the two. Why the hell is she snuggling up to him? Why is he allowing it?
âAbout what?â You asked as you looked between the two skeptically.
âAbout leaving. She doesnât want to go.â Joel explained.
âIâm sorry!â Heather sobbed and you couldnât tell if she was really crying or if she was that good of an actress.
âItâs just I donât feel comfortable around anyone else.â She continued, her voice laced with guilt and remorse.
âWhat do you mean? You and Tris get along great. I know that because she told me that herself.â You crossed your arms, not buying the âIâm scared actâ, âShe said that you two go out for lunch together almost everyday.â
âI know, but thatâs different than living with someone. Sheâs the first friend that I made here and I just donât want to ruin it. I canât bring myself to leave, Iâm so sorry dear.â Heather carried on as she wiped her tears.
You sighed, not liking the idea of trying to console her, but you would use any means if it would get her out. Itâs been weeks now and youâve just about had enough, especially after last night.
âIâm sure to wonât be too bad.â You tried to persuade her, âIt might be nice living with someone your age.â
âBut you have proved it yourself thatâs not the case.â She countered as she motioned to Joel and Ellie.
âIâm just gonna goâŚâ Ellie made a motion to go upstairs and you nodded before she ran away.
Lucky girl.
âI donât want to be a burden to any of you. I really am sorry for my decision, please donât hate me.â Heather insisted, âI really would love for us to be friends.â
You tried not to roll your eyes. Like hell you want to be friends and you youâve been a burden since you set foot through my door.
âIâm sorry, hate you?â You huffed as you popped your hip out with a knowing look, âAfter what you said last night, that word doesnât even cover it. So yeah I do. Now get the fuck out of my house.â
âBe nice.â Joel scolded with a low tone directed towards me.
âYou donât know what sheââ You tried to explain what happened last night. How small she made you feel, but Heather wouldnât allow it.
She leaned into Joel as her panic attack rose, âI didnât say anything I swear I didnât. I just want to belong here. You saved me Joel, please donât abandon me. I canât bear the thought of being alone.â
âI wonât abandon you⌠You can stay here.â Joel insisted which made your blood boil.
Was he being serious right now?
âJoel.â You turned your attention to him, trying your best to keep from shouting, âCan I talk to you for a minute in private?â
Joel nodded his head before following out to the front porch.
âYou canât let her stay.â You said the moment the door shut behind you both.
âShe said that she thought it over some more and she wouldnât feel comfortable living with someone she doesnât really know.â He sighed.
But sheâs been living with us. I wanted to say, but I held my tongue.
âPlease just trust me.â You grabbed his arm with a pleading look on your face, âIâm being serious right now Joel. You donât know her that well. Hell, none of us do. I swear sheâs been acting strange the moment you brought her here. First my room, then breakfast and taking over my tasks, trying to cut your hair. Not to mention the fact that she said that Iââ
You could see the way his face came to a conclusion of something and you had hoped that maybe then he was realizing what you had been seeing since day one, but of course⌠You were wrong.
âYouâre jealous.â He stated simply.
âWhat?â You shook your head at the audacity of this man, âNo, Iâm not.â
He pulled his arm from your grip, âYes. Yes you are. Thatâs why youâve been acting like she has some kind of vendetta against you. She told me you were jealous and thatâs why you have been mean to her, but I didnât think you would go this far to push her out of our lives after the horror sheâs experienced.â
You felt a strong punch to your gut as you listened to him speak. The way he spoke about her as if your feelings meant nothing to him made you want to scream.
âSheâs the nicest person in this town and has been nothing, but kind to you and Ellie. Sheâs scared and youâre only making it worse for her to settle in here.â He finished with a sigh.
She doesnât know us. You donât understand. Why wonât you listen? You thought angrily.
âAre you being serious right now?â You glared at him, âYouâre⌠Youâre defending her over me?â
âIâm not defending no one. Iâm saying that youâre taking this too far.â He ran a hand through his unruly hair with a huff, âYou need to put your feelings aside for me and realize that she just wants to feel at home somewhere. After what sheâs been through, she needs comfort and we can give that to her.â
Angry tears formed in your eyes, but you held them back. You couldnât believe what Joel was saying and it hurt how much he wasnât listening to you.
âFuck you and fuck her comfort! I donât feel comfortable! Right now. Right here. Hell, this past week I have felt anything but comfort. I feel unwelcome in my own home Joel.â You cried out.
âDonât do this firefly. You need to start letting people in. Thatâs what you told me when we first met remember?â He placed a hand on your shoulder, âWho knows⌠Maybe itâs best that she stays. The three of you can help each other feel at home here.â
âHer help us? Weâve been just fine on our own, thank you. The three of us! No more and no less!â You shoved him which barely made him move.
He remained silent as he let you rant, his hand falling back to his side.
âI donât want her here. I want her gone Joel.â You stated firmly, âEllie doesnât want her here either.â
Joel sigh as he crossed his arms, âHeather told me about the things you said to her last night. The horrible things you said to her and the threats you made.â Joel said suddenly with a disapproving tone to his voice, âI thought you were better than that especially after what you went through. I thought you of all people would make someone feel welcomed.â
You felt small under his gaze as you tried to explain yourself, âOf course I would try to make everyone feel welcome and I did Joel. I did try, but sheâŚâ Your brows furrowed, âI didnât say anything to her last nightâŚâ Your eyes widened at the realization of what she was doing. She was pitting Joel against you with lies and it was working⌠Again.
That final thought made you snap as you stepped away from Joel.
âThat bitch.â You seethed as you rushed into the house.
âWhat are you doing? Wait! Donât!â Joel yelled from behind you, but you were on a mission.
You bounded up the steps, much faster than Joel could as you raced to your room. You had a feeling that she was gloating with her new success in making Joel turn against you. Of course she did, she was downright evil. The door banged against the wall as you shoved it open, finding her sitting at the foot of your bed.
âHow dare you come into my home and try to turn him against me.â You sneered as you took quick steps towards her, âI didnât say anything to you, it was you who has been fucking with me ever since youâve gotten here! What is your goal here? To take over my life?â
Heatherâs eyes widened as an anxious expression appeared on her face, âI have no idea what you are talking about dearââ
It was such a relief seeing her skin turn red as you finally got the chance to slap her across her smug face. Her scream did nothing to stop your anger from rising.
You swiftly grabbed the collar of her shirt before she could get up and run. You wanted to make your threat clear as you glared down at her, âYouâre not welcome here.â
Her expression went from panicked to calm as she relaxed in your grip. It unnerved you as you watched her persona change so quickly.
âOh, but I think I am.â Heather whispered with a smirk, âAnd soon nobody here will feel safe. Not even your precious Ellie.â
That hit a nerve in you at the mention of Ellieâs name.
âFuck you.â You spat in her face as you lunged yourself on top of her.
You pinned her down to the bed as she gasped for breath. Your hands wrapped around her throat and she desperately tried to claw at your hands, but nothing nudged you.
The only thing that you could feel was a motherly rage at the mention of Ellie not being safe. You would burn this entire town down before letting that happen.
Die. Die. Die. Die.
It was a blink of an eye before you were roughly pulled off of her and thrown into your old dresser. The dresser shook and a picture frame of you, Joel, and Ellie toppled to the ground with a sickening crack. You gasped at the impact as pain rippled through your side and you had a feeling that it would be bruised in the morning.
âThe fuck is wrong with you?â Joel raised his voice, directing his anger towards you.
âYou donât understand!â You yelled at him as you gripped onto the dresser to keep yourself from falling to the floor, âCan you not see it or are you too blinded by the helpless victim act?â
âI think you should leave tonight.â Joel stated, his eyes flickered to you leaning into the dresser, but said nothing of it. He wasnât aware of how much strength he used when he pulled you off of Heather. The only thing currently running through his head was not seeing anyone die tonight.
âWhat? Leave?â You looked up at him confused, âDid you not hear a word I just said? She is using you!â
Joel sighed, âWhat could she possibly be using me for? I have nothing to offer.â He shook his head, âI think itâs best you leave and clear your head. Maybe when you get some space you will see that she is not a threat.â
You looked at the woman who cowered on the bed, out of view from Joel, but not from you. You could see the victory in her eyes as she watched Joel protect her and not you.
You looked back to Joel with an empty feeling in your chest, âI want you to remember this moment when you realize Iâm right, Miller. Goodbye.â
You swiftly stepped out of the room, ignoring the throbbing pain in your side. You saw Ellie peer out from her room with a concerned and scared expression on her face.
âWhat⌠Whatâs going on?â She asked with a timid voice, âAre you leaving? Youâre leaving me?â
You shook your head as tears filled your eyes and quickly pulled her into a hug despite the pain you were feeling, âNo of course Iâm not leaving. Iâm just going to stay with Tommy and Maria tonight, but listenâŚâ You looked back and saw that neither of them had followed you out of the room.
You looked back towards Ellie and whispered in her ear, âHeather is dangerous. I donât know what she has planned or why yet, but I need you to keep your knife close and keep an eye on Joel l until I figure it out okay?â
âOkay.â Ellie nodded, âI will, I promise.â Her eyes suddenly looked past your shoulder to Joel who was walking out of your room.
âI love you, my daughter.â You kissed her on the top of her head before quickly making your way downstairs, âSee you later bug.â
âLove you too mom⌠See you laterâŚâ You heard her broken voice say as you walked out the front door.
I will end you, Heather. I will fucking end you.

[SUMMARY: Joel is forced to take Ellie while dealing with his seven month pregnant wife.]
âIâm not taking you out there, youâre pregnant itâs too much of a riskâ he whispered leaning close to you.
Joel was pissed making his way back to you, he shouldâve known Marlene would have something up her sleeve. Now here he was responsible for a young girl he knew nothing of other than the fact that she had a real sarcastic attitude. How the hell did this fall on him? How the hell did this become his responsibility? Joel had enough on his plate with you eight months pregnant, the thought of stressing you out only angered him more.
âSo uh, do you stay by yourself?â The young girl began to ask questions curiously.
âNoâ he responded blandly as he continued to walk.
âWho do you live with?â It was hard to hide how he felt and in that moment he was irritated.
âKeep walking kidâ he mumbled under his breath.
âMy name is Ellieâ she snapped back at him but he barely acknowledged her response. Concerned of what your reaction would be once he arrived and you learned of what he had to do, he couldnât think straight.
âWhy do you look so worried?â Ellieâs voice interrupting his thoughts making him look up.
âIâm notâ
âOkayâŚwhatever you sayâ she raised her brows looking away.
For the rest of the walk she didnât say much which relieved Joel. Once arriving to where he stayed he stopped before the door and turned to her.
âListen, you do not say a word. You do not question, you do not argue, you simply do as your told and thatâs it. Understood?â She nodded pressing her lips together.
The sound of Joel opening the door making you practically run towards him as you held your belly.
âJoel?â You yelled out as the door opened and to your relief, there he was. He hated whenever he had to leave your side, he knew how anxious it always left you, afraid he wouldnât make it back. Noticing blood on the side of his face you gasped grabbing him gently.
âWhat happened?â
âIâm fineâ he assured you knowing you hadnât noticed Ellie behind him.
âThereâs something we need to talk aboutâ just as he began to explain, the sound of a sneeze made you furrow your brows. Slowly looking behind him you saw a young girl looking down at the ground anxiously.
âWhoâs this?â
Joel took a deep breath before turning to her and motioning towards the other side of the room.
âGo stand over thereâ she did as he asked as Joel took your hand leading you to the kitchen.
âJoel, what happened out there?â You asked as you leaned back on the counter.
âWhen I got to Marlene, they had just been attacked, Marlene was shot and they no longer had a functioning car for us to use.â You sighed brushing your hair back.
âShe asked me to take her with me, her name is Ellie.â You looked over at her across the room before looking back at him confused.
âShe needs to be taken somewhere and there, Marlene promised a car would be ready for us.â
âSo what does this mean?â
You asked still struggling to understand.
âYouâre gonna wait here for me while I go take her where she needs to go and I get the car-â before he could even finish you already began shaking your head.
âNo, no, Iâm not waiting here again for God knows how longâ Joel took a deep breath rubbing the back of his neck.
âIâll come right back here and weâll finally be able to get you to that doctor-â
âNo. No,â you continued shaking your head stubbornly.
âIâm not taking you out there, youâre pregnant itâs too much of a riskâ he whispered leaning close to you.
âOh yeah? And what if something happens while youâre gone? Then what?â Joel knew you were right but the thought of you being out there didnât sit well with him either.
âYouâre staying hereâ he insisted.
âNo, Joel neither of us have any idea how long you will be gone. I could have the baby within the next few weeksâ you began to cry out of frustration which only made him guilty.
âOk, ok câmereâ he pulled you to him leaning his chin over your head. He couldnât stand seeing you stress out especially at this point in your pregnancy.
âI can do it, Joel. Just please donât leave me alone here, plus where youâre going is in route to where we are suppose to go. Thereâs no point coming back and fourthâ he didnât say a word. He didnât like the idea of leaving you alone this far long nor taking you out into the danger. Looking over at Ellie he caught her looking at the both of you before she quickly looked away.
âFine,â he looked back at you.
âBut the second anything goes wrong or you feel anything, weâre coming back.â
You sighed in relief knowing you wouldnât be left alone.
Joel packed whatever he could in his bag that he thought you might need for the journey. He hated that he somehow was put into this mess responsible for Ellieâs delivery, but if it meant a car to get you a doctor, he was willing to do so.
As the three of you began to walk he wouldnât stop looking your way, concerned with each step you took while also aware of his surroundings. Ellie noticed he seemed paranoid looking behind every couple of minutes but she didnât say a word of it.
âSo uh, are you having a boy or girl?â Ellie couldnât help but ask after what felt like an hour of silence.
âEllie-â
âWe donât knowâ you responded in a friendly tone cutting off Joel. She noticed you seemed more open to speak than Joel did and immediately took a liking to you.
âSo do you want a boy or girl?â She asked making Joel look back at her with a warning glare.
âHm, I donât know, I always imagined Iâd have a girlâ your response distracting Joel, making him look back at you intrigued.
âEither way, as long as the baby is ok Iâll be happy, but I have a feeling itâs a girl.â Joel didnât say a word but Ellie noticed his expression soften. One thing she was quick to notice was that if you said green, then green it was for Joel. He listened to you, his concern for you overlapped any grumpiness he seemed to have at times.
Stopping in front of what seemed like broken giant scraps of metal, Joel looked around to see if there was another way through that road.
âLetâs goâ you looked over at him as Ellie quickly skipped past you and hopped on a metal box.
âItâs not so badâ she shrugged as Joel looked over at your belly before your eyes.
âAlright well, youâre gonna hold on to meâ Joel went onto grab your hand as you sighed.
âJoel, itâs not that messy hereâ ignoring you he proceeded to walk leading you over the scraps of
metal and glass. Taking step by step he didnât let go of your hand, trying his best to push aside anything in the way to make a trail for you. Ellie watched how careful Joel was with you as you walked close behind him. She ran ahead the both of you as Joel called out for her to slow down.
âAlmost thereâ he whispered to himself finally reaching the end. Breathing in relief he quickly turned to you helping you down the last step when your foot slid on a pipe. Before you could fall he quickly caught you with panic in his eyes.
âIâm okâ you assured him seeing the concerned look he had. In silence he nodded before looking up at Ellie.
âLetâs keep movingâ your voice making him turn back down to you. He still hadnât let go of you but he did as you asked and calmly continued the walk.
Walking down a quiet block you happened to pass an abanonded ice cream shop. You sighed rubbing your belly, one of your biggest craving through out your entire pregnancy.
âOh what Iâd do for some chocolate ice creamâ Ellie looked at the store you stared at remembering she had some snacks in her backpack. Rushing looking through it she found a chocolate bar she had been saving for later.
âHeads upâ you both looked over at her as she threw something small your way. Once you caught it you had realized it was a chocolate bar.
âWhereâd you get this?!â
âMarleneâ Ellie shrugged.
âAre you sure, Ellie?â You felt guilty taking candy from a kid.
âGo ahead, Iâve had enough of those anywaysâ she lied with a smile.
âThank youâ excitedly you rushed to open it and take a bite as Joel watched in silence. He knew how much you loved chocolate. A smirk appearing on his lips as he watched you sigh savoring the taste of it.
âThis is so goodâ you whispered taking another bite. Joel looked over at Ellie who watched you excitedly eat, feeling a little guilty about being so hard on her in the beginning.
âThank youâ his voice making her look up at him. She didnât say much but he could tell she felt good about herself in that moment.
After another half hour of walking you began to feel tired. Joel could tell you were beginning to look exhausted and began looking around for a place to rest.
âAlright, we gotta find shelterâ he began looking at the surroundings for a place.
âIâm fine, Joelâ
âYouâre exhausted-â
âIâm fine. I can keep goingâ you assured him but he knew you were lying.
âHow much longer is it?â Ellie asked.
âAnother hour or soâ Joel responded not taking his eyes off you. He leaned in closer noticing you lean on the wall beside you for support.
Something didnât feel right but it only made you want to rush faster to where you had to go to get the car. Yet, you refused to tell Joel knowing he would stop anything right there.
âMaybe she needs waterâ Ellie suggested.
âShe needs restâ
âNo. Letâs goâ you pushed yourself forward and continued to walk taking deep breaths as you did. Joel stayed close behind you, keeping a close eye on you while also continuing to make sure the surroundings were clear.
âAlright weâre stopping right hereâ Joel insisted after another half hour went by.
âStopping where?â You asked as he proceeded to open a door of an abandoned shop. Quickly checking around the small store he motioned for you both to follow him in as you sighed.
âWhat are we doing?â You raised a brow as Joel double checked the place.
âWeâre taking a break. Im gonna see what I can find around here while you get some rest and Ellie stays with you-â just as you were about to ask question Joel cut you off knowing what it would be.
âIm not going farâ he assured you.
âYou need me you just call out for me, Iâll hear you.â He knew you didnât like this but he also knew how stubborn of a woman you could be.
âWe are delaying timeâ
Joel ignored your words as he pulled a massive box to the door to help block any entry.
âSo Iâm suppose to watch her?â Ellie asked a bit confused making Joel stop what he was doing to turn directly to her.
âYou donât take your eyes off her even for a secondâ he pointed his index finger at her as he spoke.
âIâm perfectly fineâ you insisted.
âIâll be right backâ Joel made sure the door was blocked behind him as he made his way out while Ellie looked at you awkwardly.
âIs he always this friendly?â She asked sarcastically making you sigh.
âHeâs not too bad, heâs justâŚworriedâ you looked down at your belly before slowly taking a seat on a chair against the wall.
âI might as well get my restâ you shrugged as Ellie looked around quickly noticing a hall that led to a comic book section. Looking back at you she watched as you closed your eyes leaning your head against the wall. Wait for a bit she slowly made her way to the back without waking you.
Before you could realize twenty minutes had passed and you opened your eyes with Ellie nowhere in sight.
âEllie?â You called out for her wondering where she had gone.
âEllie?!â You called for her again as she walked further into the back, distracted with her excitement reading the books she hadnât heard a thing.
âDammitâ you whispered pushing yourself to stand up when a sudden sharp pain struck your belly making you gasp and lean forward. Holding your belly you winced feeling another stronger pain.
âWoahâ you whispered.
Attempting to sit back in the seat you lost your balance from the pain and fell to the side.
Squeezing your eyes shut tightly you felt a rush from your lower back into your lower abdomen like you had never felt before. Fear setting in, you called Ellie again to no avail when you heard the main door open. Joel pushed the box out of the way instantly seeing you on the floor.
âWhat happened? Whatâs hurting you?â He rushed falling to his knees before you trying to sit you up.
âI donât know I just felt a pain, I went to get up and-â
âWhere the hell is Ellie?â He looked behind him as the sound of you in discomfort made him quickly turn back to you.
âEllie!â He called out not taking his eyes off you.
âJoel I think Iâm getting contractionsâ you spoke in between breaths.
âItâs too early, itâs not time yetâ you shook your head seeing the concern in his deep brown eyes.
âCalm down, Iâm gonna get you out of here-â
âThat was pretty fast, Joelâ Ellie appeared quickly noticing you on the floor.
âIs she okay?â She ran up beside you as Joel narrowed his eyes on her.
âI told you to stay with her.â
âJoel, she was sleeping, is that I saw-â
âI donât care what you saw, I asked you to stay with her didnât I? â he spoke coldly.
âJoel stop, sheâs a child. Donât blame herâ you placed your hand on the side of his face turning him to you. He could still see the pain you felt, panic settling in he took a deep breath.
âThereâs a place close by I saw while I was out there. Thereâs guards, I think itâs Marleneâs people, weâll get you there and get helpâ
Joel wasnât one to trust anyone but you could see the desperation in his eyes for you.
âYou think thatâs a good-â before you could even finish you cried out as another rush of pain took over. Joel hated seeing you in pain, he felt helpless. Without saying a word he stood up and lifted you up in his arms.
âLetâs goâ he looked over at Ellie as she quickly grabbed your bag and followed.
Joel walked as fast as he could as Ellie ran ahead hoping to find someone to help them in.
âJoel I think itâs over here!â Ellie yelled out to him noticing something from afar. He ran side by side with her, you hid your face in Joelâs neck with your arms wrapped around him.
Arriving at the place Joel noticed large doors with guards out front making you all stop in your tracks.
âStop right there!â A man yelled out holding a gun.
âWeâre not sick!â Joel quickly yelled out as a dark flashback in his mind of him in this exact position with his daughter.
âSheâs pregnantâ he tried to explain in desperation as the doors suddenly opened and Joel came face to face with someone he never thought heâd see again.
âTommyâ he whispered in disbelief at the sight of his brother before him. Dealing with so much pain you could barely make out what was being said, your eyes closing as Tommy ran towards you.
Tommy looked at his brother before looking down at you in Joelâs arms.
âP-please help her..â he could barely make out his words, all kinds of thoughts and feelings running through him at once. Tommy could see the deep fear and exhaustion his brother had and quickly called for help, taking you from his arms he ran inside and had him follow.
Ellie quickly followed behind Joel as he entered the room you were taken to. In the short time she had spent with him she had never seen him like this. He watched as a man came rushing in quickly with equipment as you continued to moan in pain. He watched the man connect an IV to you before pulling out a needle.
âWhat are you giving her?â He quickly ran beside you as Tommy tried to push him back.
âItâs ok, Joel heâs a doctorâ Tommy explained noticing the dark bags under Joelâs eyes.
âYou should sit down, brotherâ
He didnât say a word, simply shaking his head not taking his eyes off you. A belt being placed around your belly, Joel couldnât believe all the equipment they had for you.
âIs the baby ok?â You winced trying not to cry. The doctor didnât respond as he tried to move as fast as possible.
âHey, sheâs asking you a questionâ Joel spoke up defensively making the doctor look at him.
âJoel, maybe we should wait outsideâ Tommy suggested.
âIâm not leaving herâ he responded as Ellie watched on.
âThere it isâ the doctor placed a wand against your stomach and the clear sound of a heartbeat could be heard. You breathed in relief looking at the screen.
âYour water hasnât broken so I can give you something to stop the contractions. They should be easing up soon, if they havenât alreadyâ you nodded in agreement calmly laying back on the bed. Joel looked down at you brushing your hair back as you looked up at him.
âIâll be right outside if Iâm neededâ the doctor made his way out as Joel thanked him before looking over at Tommy.
Exhaustion taking over you, you sighed before realizing what Joel had said earlier.
âDid you say Tommy?â You asked in a sleepy voice as the medicine began to settle in. Never had you met his brother but you always heard about him.
âYesâ Joel cracked a smiled as he looked over at him. Ellie had no idea what was going on but slowly walked up to the other side of you.
âYou ok?â Ellie asked softly making Joel look up, he could see the guilt in her eyes.
âItâs not your fault, kid.â Joel quickly responded as you eyes began to close, too tired to speak.
A couple hours went by and you woke up to the doctor checking you again. Joel anxiously beside you holding your hand as the doctor placed the wand against your belly again.
âEverything ok?â You whispered as Ellie stood by your feet.
âEverything is working great. Contractions stopped and babyâs kicking just fineâ you smiled taking a deep breath.
âWould you like to know the sex?â The doctor suddenly asked making you look at Joel. He nodded with a wink as you quickly turned to the doctor with a look of approval.
âYouâre having a baby girlâ you looked at Joel in shock but your smile quickly disappeared as he seemed to have lost color in his face.
âJoel?â You whispered.
âOh thatâs awesome just what you wanted!â Ellie cheered excitedly before realizing how concerned you looked at Joel. His mind going to a distant place remembering the day Sarah was bornâŚstill something he was unable to share with you.
âJoel?â You whispered again snapping him out of it.
âDid you want a boy?â You asked a bit confused.
âNoâ he responded quickly letting out a breath, realizing he was in fact secretly hoping for a girl.
âWeâre having a baby girlâ a smile appeared with tears in his eyes as you sighed in relief. Tommy stood by the door silently hearing the news, he could tell his brother hadnât told anyone about Sarah, but he knew he would when he was ready. Still, Tommy smiled seeing a bit of Joel heal in that very moment..

you throw your head back leaning over ellie tits all in her face as you keep riding. "fuck ellie." you say taking your spit covered fingers out ellie's mouth rubbing your clit with them.
ellie lets you use her because she feels so so bad for lying to you, she lays still even though it feels like torture. you moan out biting you bottom lip looking down at ellie who looks high, drool dripping out the corner of her mouth.

Itâs Sunday, one week until Christmas, and Joel Miller is beginning to lose his mind.
His daughters had been bugging him about baking Christmas cookies with them for weeks, and he wants nothing more than to make them happy, but while Joel is many things, heâs certainly not a baker.
Work has been hectic lately, which apparently led to him forgetting to buy the ingredients that the girls swear up and down they had requested several times.
Heâs had to sent Sarah to ask one of their neighbors to lend them something twice now and by the looks of it, heâs gonna have to do it a third time. She groans and insists to take Ellie with her this time, complaining about how this is âsooooo embarrassing, Dad!â
You furrow your brow when your doorbell rings for the third time in half an hour, a slightly disbelieving look on your face when you open the door and once again reveal the young girl from next door standing on your porch, this time accompanied by who you think is her younger sister.
You only moved into the house a month ago and donât really know any of your neighbors, except for the elderly couple that lives a few houses over. They had introduced themselves hours after you moved in and have tried to invite you to come to Sunday church with them several times, an invitation that you consistently decline.
You know the girls though, you often see them through your windows, constantly pestering their father, who constantly fends them off in a kind of gruffy but clearly loving manner.
The girl who had introduced herself as âSarahâ when she first came by thirty minutes ago to ask for baking powder smiles at you apologetically.
âHi⌠again. Iâm so sorry, do you by any chance have cinnamon as well?â
You can't help but laugh this time. âWhat are you guys even doing over there? I think I do, why donât you come in while I go check?â They nod and follow you into your kitchen where you start digging through your supply of baking ingredients.
âOur Dad said heâd bake Christmas cookies with us today, but he forgot to get the groceries for it,â the other girl explains. âIâm Ellie, by the way.â You smile and tell her your name, then hand over the cinnamon to them.
âThatâs very sweet of your Dad,â you remark, âIâm sure heâs trying his best.â
Ellieâs eyes fly over your neatly organized collection of ingredients and baking utensils, then her face lights up with an idea.
âHey! You look like youâre a good baker and our Dad is really struggling to be honest. Do you want to come over and join us?â
âEllie,â Sarah argues, âyou canât just invite people like that, Iâm sure she has plans already.â
You donât, to be fair, but youâve never spoken to their father before, whoâs rather giving the impression that he likes to keep to himself.
âOh, I wouldnât want to intrudeâŚâ you begin, when Sarah looks around herself and notices that you donât have any Christmas decorations up around your house.
âOr do you not celebrate Christmas?â she asks, âYou obviously donât have to come if thatâs notâŚâ
Your heart warms at how considerate the young girl is trying to be. âNo I do, I just didnâtâŚâ you trail off, not sure how to explain that it feels pointless putting up decorations just for yourself and that you donât want the reminders that it will be the first Christmas in your life that youâll be spending completely alone. You shake your head and plaster a smile on your face. You do like baking and maybe this will help getting you into the spirit.
âYou know what? Okay, if itâs alright with your Dad, Iâll come over and see how I can help.â
Both girls beam at you and you follow them over to their house, where you find their Dad elbows deep in a mixing bowl with dough sticking to his fingers and swearing to himself under his breath. You feel awkward and definitely like an intruder but the girlsâ mouths are going a mile a minute, explaining how you had soooo many baking supplies and that you had agreed to help them.
Their Dad introduces himself as âJoelâ and you feel your cheeks heating when you notice how attractive he is up close. You had already thought that when youâve seen him from afar, but now that youâre standing in his kitchen, it really hits you. Trying to snap out of it, you take a closer look at the dough that heâs fighting with.
âThis needs more flour, then itâll be less sticky,â you mutter, suddenly feeling a bit shy, and go to add it to the mix in his bowl. He huffs a âThanksâ and you smile, still fighting the heat in your cheeks but also feeling excitement buzz through you as your hand brushes against his when you pull back.
The girls kick back into action then, throwing several recipes at you that they want to try and you do your best to coordinate it all, running back to your place for ingredients several times, accompanied by an apologetic look from Joel every time, but you honestly donât mind. His daughters are adorable and youâre having more fun than youâve had in months.
Sarah turns on the radio and Christmas songs sound through the kitchen. With the music in your ear and the smell of freshly baked cookies in your nose, you feel at ease, comfortable.
When all the cookies are baked and thoroughly taste tested, the girls retreat to their rooms on the upper floor, leaving you and Joel alone in the kitchen. You find that you donât want to leave, donât want to go back to that big empty house where itâs just you, not now that youâve basked in the warmth of this family home right next to yours all day. And just maybe, you want to spend more time with Joel.
âI have a bottle of pretty good red wine, shall I go and bring that? Half of my kitchenâs contents are here alreadyâ you joke and Joel laughs.
âIâm sorry about that, Iâm usually better prepared, but workâs been crazy these weeks and the girls insisted on baking today, soâŚâ He scratches his neck and you smile at him.
âDonât worry about it, Iâve had a great time today. Finally got me into the holiday spirit a bit, I kinda really needed that.â
You walk over and take the wine bottle back to his place where you sit down in the living room, the Christmas tree that has been mostly decorated by the girls shining in the corner and the several strings of fairy lights that Sarah has spread all over the room glowing around you.
You feel a warmth and comfort that you havenât felt in a long time, but also a kind of envy for this feeling of family, of how clearly this man and the two girls belong together, how their house is basically imbued with love for each other. A feeling that youâre not sure youâve ever had, but that you suddenly find yourself desperately longing for.
âSoâŚâ Joel begins, a faint expression of uncertainty on his face. âIs it just you over there, orâŚ?â You understand what heâs asking and nod, a wry smile playing around your lips.
âYeah, itâs- itâs a bit of a long story, really, but yes, itâs just me.â The understanding is clear on his face and he doesnât push you, sensing that you donât want to expand on the subject and youâre grateful.
You still talk about both of your pasts, where you grew up, where you went to school, learning that Joel lost his parents when he was young, only two years after he had Sarah, how it had been just the both of them in the beginning, with the addition of his younger brother whom he speaks of with the loving kind of exasperation that only an older sibling can muster up, and how he adopted Ellie a few years later.
You finish the bottle quicker than you would like to, and when Joel walks you home and youâre both stood in front of your door, youâre drunk on more than the red wine, a happiness in your veins that warms you from within.
Joel clears his throat, his eyes trained on your face.
âListen, I donât want ya to feel pressured or nothinâ, but would you want to come over for Christmas Eve? âS just me anâ the girls, nothinâ fancy, just-â he shrugs, his hands buried in his pockets, âdonât like the thought of you alone in this house on Christmas.â
It might be embarrassing how quickly you say âyesâ, but you canât bring yourself to feel that way. A smile stretches across Joelâs face as he tells you âgood nightâ and kisses your cheek before you step into your house and watch him walk back to his.
Christmas at the Miller household is one of the best evenings that youâve ever had. Sarah and Ellie have gone all out on the decorations now that they have a guest, leaving twinkling lights, glitter and ornaments in every corner and on every surface, Joel makes a surprisingly good dinner, youâre playing board games with the girls that dissolve into fights between them most of the time, everyone is talking over each other and youâre all eating chocolate until youâre sick with the sugar high.
Late in the evening, with both of the girls softly snoring on the couch, tangled up in each other like two overly large kittens, Joel and you are sharing another bottle of wine. You feel so full of happiness that you feel like you might burst, a smile on your face that feels like itâs never gonna leave again.
When itâs time for you to go home, Joel stands with you and walks with you to his front door. âThank you again, for inviting me,â you smile at him, âthis was probably the best Christmas Eve that Iâve ever had.â
He nods, his gaze dancing between your eyes and your lips.
âMerry Christmas,â you murmur, butterflies erupting in your stomach. He leans in and you hesitantly do the same. Before you can overthink it, you cradle his face in your hands and pull him towards you, your lips meeting in a soft kiss.
âMerry Christmas,â he whispers against your lips.
i hope you liked this!!! merry christmas and happy holidays đŤśđť

Incentive
Pairing: Joel miller x reader
summary: Ellie makes you convince Joel to not get back on the road yet, and you find a way to persuade him
warnings: just fluff with a slight allusion to smut
"pleasee he'll never say no to you"
You sighed "fine, but you owe me, kid"
"absolutely" Ellie nodded
You scowled at her one more time before turning on your feet, your eyes immediately finding Joel deeply focused on fixing some things in the truck bed.
You walked up to him
"Hey"
"hey" he glanced at you
"Whatcha doing?" you asked
" an inventory of our supplies"
"oh, cool" you lied, taking a step so you could sit on the edge of the trunk.
He looked at you suspiciously, somehow already aware of what was happening.
"I already told Ellie we can't stay here another night"
You bit your lip, internally cursing yourself.
How did he always know?
"Joel"
He was listening
"c'mon she's a kid, she's tired"
"I am too, but we gotta get to Wyoming"
"I know, but a day isn't gonna make a difference"
He was contemplating it, you could see the gears turning behind his eyes.
"we can't"
"Joel" you said, taking the can from his hand and setting it in its bag just to guide him in front of you "it's just one night" you shrugged, playing with the hem of his jacket "do it for her" you nodded to Ellie, and noticed with amusement as she pretended not to be staring when you both turned towards her.
"We would be wasting time"
"We should rest" you explained "You should rest" your index finger poked his chest
"I don't wanna rest, I wanna get to Wyoming"
"Hugh" you huffed, smiling a bit as your head fell to his torso in exasperation "you're so stubborn"
"why are you even helping her Y/n?"
You looked up at him, your chin still on him "she's so young, Joel, she's 14 for god's sake and she's seen so much already, the least we could do is show her the world is not only that shitty"
"by staying here another night?" he raised an eyebrow, skeptical
"yes" you smiled "and by maybe trying to act less like a grumpy 80-year-old all the time" you suggested, making him throw his head back with a sigh.
"y/n..."
"really? You're still not convinced after that amazing speech?"
"We really can't waste any time"-
An idea sparked in your mind, as you reduced the distance between you, your hands finding his core.
"I'll tell you what mr grumpypants" you smirked "If you agree to stay here another night, I'll make it worth your while"
He immediately got more serious, his eyes finding yours quickly.
You smiled at that reaction.
"How? She's always around"
"I could keep you company tonight while you keep watch"
"It's been a while" you added, and in that exact moment, as his mind wandered, surely imagining what you were proposing, you knew you had won.
"This is a one-time thing" he cleared out " tomorrow we're back on the road"
"of course" you nodded, biting back a grin as you stood up
"Thank you" you kissed him "she's gonna be really happy"
"well I'm gonna be too" he put his hands on your waist "I've missed you"
"mee too" you agreed, kissing him again.
"do you wanna tell her?" you asked
"no, go on" he gestured, and you shook your head
"You should be nice to her Joel"
"I am" he defended and you scoffed, turning to reach Ellie who was sitting on a tree branch.
"so?" she asked, hopeful, as she noticed you.
"we're staying here another night" you nodded with a smile
"yes!" she grinned "thank you" she took you by surprise as she stood up and hugged you, her tiny arms squeezing you tight.
"No problem Ellie" you reassured her as she took a step back
"how'd you even do it?" she asked " when I asked him, he was all like -no we can't waste time Ellie- and - you can sleep in the car Ellie- " she mocked him exaggeratedly, making you laugh.
"well" you glanced at him, trying to hide the smirk creeping on your lips "I guess I just gave him a little incentive"

Loser!Ellie HCs
content warning:: fem!reader, modern!AU
AN:: first time writing, literally scared shitlessđĽ english isnât my native languageđ
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who made a pasta recipe once (probably from instagram reels), and became a self-appointed master chef. Forgot about the fact that it took her 3 tries to even cook the pasta.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who canât stop saying flavor instead of scent. She just genuinely doesnât see the difference.
âWhat flavor do you want?â she asks you while holding up two colorful packs of wax melts. She bought a wax burner and used it to melt chocolate so she can have chocolate covered fruit anytime she wants. Used it 2 times total.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who vapes. Iâm sorry but thatâs the truth. She just loves to puff on her cute little mixed berries disposable. Also, keeps saying she can quit anytime she wants, she canât.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who uses axe body spray. If someone asks about it she just says it works better, but she actually likes the scent. Kind of her guilty pleasure.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who hated on the sims franchise her whole life only to find out youâre a fan. She pirated the whole series (DLCs and all) off of some russian website in one night. Got like 20 different viruses but at least her girl could play the sims 2 happily.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who is terrible at foreign languages yet has a duolingo streak that over 500 days. She knows how to say âthe apple is redâ in german and can barely pronounce her order in mexican restaurants.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who is chronically online. Constantly posting shit to her insta stories, sending you tik toks 24/7 and all that stuff. One time she got so invested in a facebook group drama that she didnât reply to your texts for the whole day.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who wears the most unfunny-funny shirts you can imagine. Stuff like âwomen want me, fish fear meâ and âeat, sleep, game, repeatâ. And theyâre always either way too big or way too small.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who always said she doesnât want any pets, that itâs too much of a commitment for her⌠Then she found the ugliest kitten sheâs ever seen on the street and took it home without thinking. Let you choose the name but calls him âstinkyâ no matter what. Like mother, like daughter.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who couldnât tie her shoes until she was 15. Thatâs it.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who is so lovestruck for you that I canât even explain it. Sheâll always do the cheesiest things possible, like standing before your house with roses, a bluetooth speaker and a promposal poster or bringing you every little thing she found on her walk that âreminded her of youâ.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who doesnât like to go out on dates. Sheâd rather stay at home with you, watch a movie, make dinner together (youâll be the only one actually cooking), maybe paint something or just spend time together doing nothing⌠Would really enjoy a date at the planetarium though.
⢠ËËË loser!Ellie who is a total yapper. Can and will talk about anything and everything for hours on end. And if you mention an interest of hers? Oh god, get ready to see a powerpoint presentation about it. Literally the definition of ââď¸đ¤â but in a good way.
Iâm so scared to post this itâs not even funnyâ ď¸ Hope you liked it <3

Multiverse
Based on a request: Could you do a fanfic where all of JOs characters meet and R has to explain they're all characters in movies and shows and how they're acted by R's gf, Jenna Ortega?
Characters would preferably be the following: Wednesday, Tara, Vada, Camila, Phoebe, Lorraine, Mabel, Ellie and Cairo (Even tho that movie isn't out yet)
If you don't want to use all the characters thats fine lol. I'm too lazy to write this myself.
JO Characters X Fem Reader
A/N: Iâm so sorry that it took me so long. I wasnât sure what end I wanted to choose. So I decided to not overthink to much and keep it short so the end is pretty shit haha. Hope you can still enjoy anon :)
ââââââââ
Itâs been one of those rare summer days where the clouds were turning into a coal grey way and turning the whole light that fell onto the earth in a mix of yellow light and dark highlites. I saw just seconds ago a light struck in the corner of my eyes as I turned my head towards the window in the living room trying to say âthere was a lightning it mus-â and then there was it.
A growl. Something that sounded like a crisp crash high in the distance but still like it was happening right next to you. Thunder.
I chuckled to myself. Before I could end my own sentence the thunder had spoken for itself.
I walked towards the window. Watching rain falling down in an immense amount, feeling glad that I was in my apartment and didnât had to walk through that wild mess.
âRain... Rain is like a heavy mood. It is sad but it has a beautiful way of calming you down at the same time. Rain can make you cry but it can also make you calm"
I heard the familiar voice of my girlfriend. But kept watching the rain without turning around and smiled.
"You know... Rain can also be a bit spooky. Rain makes the shadows darker. Rain makes the dark even darker. Rain makes mystery even more mysterious."
I chuckled saying âwow that one turned a bit dark I guessâŚâ I was turning around Expecting to see her soaked in the rain. Seeing already in front of my eyes how her bangs were probably all wet and sticking on her forehead. But when my eyes met hers, i was quite confused and a light laugh escaped me.
âWhy do you look like Wednesday Addams?â I asked her. Walking a step towards her. It was almost like she became one with the shadows in the room. Wearing a big black coat. Covering what she was wearing under it. Her also black doc martens being pretty visible.
Her hair was darker then it was before she left to meet Enrique and prepare things for the upcoming met gala. I looked at her with a tilted head.
âI thought that people stopped asking stupid questions but here you are⌠another example for our current lost generationâ she said monotone.
I looked even more confused feeling like there were tons of gears moving in my head and that she could see them âIâm confusedâŚâ I barely whispered.
âI often have that affect on peopleâŚâ
She said and looked with an almost disgusted gaze at me. Scanning me from head to toe making me feel some kinda way uneasy. Even though I really loved the way Jenna played Wednesday Addams⌠that type of character was defiantly to much to handle. I found enough courage despise the mixed feelings I had and was about to say something when I recognized another figure beside me. My eyes landing on dark brown eyes, Emphasized with dark eyeliner wich Jenna rarely wore.
My mouth opened slight. Looking even more confused by now if this was possible.
My eyes scanning her figure within seconds. Seeing her wearing some short hot pants with a thin top and a congnac brown leather jacket. The fit feeling pretty familiar to me.
She was wearing eye makeup but the rest of her face was all clean. Wich made her freckles more present than usual. A smile with also slight confusion covered her face âwow you look pretty emoâŚâ was what she said. But she didnât said it to me.
âSome would consider Iâm the definition of emoâ said the one who looked like Wednesday.
I felt my heart running faster looking between the both of them.
âYou see her too?â I asked Jenna beside me. But I wasnât sure if it was actually Jenna.
âYeah I do⌠by the way whatâs your name?â
She answered giving me that big smile that showed her dimples and made me feel a bit flustered. That smile always had an effect on me.
But I was way to overwhelmed to actually tell her my name since there were two people that looked like Jenna so I asked
âWho are you?â
âMabelâŚâ she said and gave me a very knees weakening look, combined with that smile.
âMabel⌠WednesdayâŚâ I whispered looking between the both of you.
âWhat the hell is going on?â I asked more myself than both of them.
And right when the last few words left my mouth there was another person appearing in the living room. But the person seemed to be way to focused on my bookshelves.
All three of us watched the person.
She was wearing a white dress, showing her curves and long legs wich were wearing knee high brown boots. A tiny bag was hanging over her shoulders as her tiny but also gentle looking hands touched the backs of the books. Reading in silence the title names. Her hair was falling over her back in beautiful waves. The little light in the living room falling on it and showing a mixture of brown and red highlites.
âY/N I don't think you have real books here... you have a Harry Potter book.. that's not a real bookâ She scrunches up her face âI'm sorry but it's the truthâ She picks up a book and checks the title âUgh... It's called a touch of darkness and it's about Persephone and Hades in a version of a Greek world in our time? *She shrugs it off*â
I felt a bit offended but also didnât knew what to say.
Wednesday said âif you like Greek mythology you at least couldâve read the real tales. Like the ilias or oddyseyâ I nodded slightly ashamed and my gaze met Mabelâs she whispered âI only watched Percy Jackson once so donât look at me for helpâŚâ
I took a deep breath and looked back at the woman beside my shelves. She had turned around by now and was lightning up a cigarette. I could see the amount of rings on her other hand and that cheeky but also dangerous smile on her dark bordo lips.
âCairo Sweet?â I asked speechless.
âWow well thatâs a âŚunique nameâ said Mabel with a chuckled.
âI would say being called after a weekday is more unusual then being called as a well know city with historyâŚâ said Cairo and gave Wednesday a look.
My eyes widened feeling like Cairo was about to die.
â Iâm named after a nursery rhyme containing the line âWednesday's child is full of woe.â The poem, which assigns personalities to children based on the day they were born, dates back to at least 1838. Cairo-Sweet. What kinda name is that, anyway? Sounds like the kind they'd use in a very bad written fanfictionâ Wednesday glares at Cairo for daring to question the legitimacy of her name and gives her a dead stare.
I looked at both of them excited now and chuckled saying âas a writer you should have know that Cairo⌠you better not mess with Wednesday. Sheâs a writer and she could kill you if she wantsâ
Mabel beside me just whispered quite âokay this is getting very interesting hereâ
Wednesday and Cairo were throwing glares at each other when another person moved to my side and said âwhat kind of fever dream is that?â
I laughed and shaked my head looking at my right side to see another version of my girlfriend, wearing basketball shorts and an oversized shirt. I felt like nothing could surprise me anymore at this point so I smiled friendly and held my hand out saying âyour Vada right? Nice to meet you Iâm Y/Nâ
Vada smiled and shook my hand. I was explaining to her what was currently happening and introduced the others to her. Vadas hand rested on my shoulder now as she said âitâs like the most weirdest names Iâve ever seenâŚâ an awkward smile appearing on her lips.
âYouâre not surprised about the fact that you all look exact the same? Just different?â
Suddenly there was a Laugh âYeah, there's a glitch in the system or something. It's just kind of...â said the 5.1 Latina beside me and shrugged. I looked speechless at Tara fucking Carpenter. Not sure if I was in a fan girl mode or going right into the simp mode.
âTara Carpenter⌠holy shitâ I whispered and looked at her stunned. Not sure how to process this all. She gave me a friendly smile and my head felt like exploding.
âShe good?â Asked another version of Jennaâs Characters. Sitting on the armchair with her sunglasses and smoothie as she held a tiny book in her hands. Ellie from you I assumed.
My eyes kept jumping between all those people in my living room. Noticing even more of them.
â10 dollars sheâs gonna pass outâ said Wednesday cold as Cairo agreed and jumped in the bet. In my living room weâre around six characters that my girlfriend had played and it was way to hard to understand what the hell was going on.
No matter in what direction I looked. They were everywhere. Talking, arguing, connecting.
I took a deep breath and sat down on my couch. âWhat the hell is going on?â I asked louder and everyone became silent.
They looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.
âI have to admit this is weird⌠for real why do we all look like the same person?â Asked now Vada pointing out her hands at everyone.
Everyone looked around, till all gazes fell on me. Tara walked towards me saying âyou seem to know every one of us⌠so you may enlighten us?â I nodded in an almost trance like mode and got up. Standing in the center while all of them were standing around me like in a circle.
âOkay⌠maybe this is some weird multiverse thing? A Paradoxon? Or Iâm dreaming⌠dead⌠I donât know but!â I said looked at all of you.
I shrugged my shoulders
âWell what can I say you all are movie charactersâŚâ
â Y/N are you feeling alright? Or are the fumes from the glue factory getting to you?âWednesday gives me a cold stare âOr do you need to sit down? Do you need a hit with the shovel so the bad thoughts go away?â
I looked at her serious saying
âWhat?! No! ListenâŚâ I said and reached for my phone. I typed in Wednesday in Netflix and showed it to her and the others.
Cairo Looks at me with confusion âWhat a nerd, knowing all the facts about movie characters and who plays them. Like, who cares? Iâve got better things to do all day long than waste my time on silly little facts of the past, and I donât even want to waste my time being in the same room as a loser like you!â She glares at me, showing clear signs of aggression.
âOkay you are defiantly meaner as you seem in your movieâŚâ I said slight offended and looked over at Tara who was my fav character. Seeking for some comfort
She Shrugs âOh donât let her bother you, sheâs... Anyways, did you guys want to talk about anything specific or are we going to all go to our separate corners and just stare at each other? I mean, that sounds kind of odd if I say it outloud...â
I laughed nervous âI would like to know why you guys even are here in the first place⌠this is against all rules. How is this even possible?â
âYouâll find a lot of things hard to explain away with logic, you know? Especially a certain someone who likes to hang out with a bunch of fictional charactersâ said Wednesday monotone and gave me another cold, intimidating stare âbeside that you better stop trying to convince us that we are only movie characters. Iâll be good for you, if you drop the topicâ
âWhy? After all you all just appeared out of nowhere in my Apartment!..â I said a bit angry. Starting to feel like I was the bad one here suddenly.
Mabel looked around while playing with her moving her hands in the back of her pockets âSo, what should we talk about then?â She asks awkwardly.
Vada was sitting in the corner and stares at the floor then says âI feel like the most... average one here....â
Tara Looks at Vada awkwardly âDon't say that... you're just as special as all of us. You're not average. Don't ever think that!â
âYeah sheâs right. You are special and we love you⌠what youâve been through was awfulâ I said reassuring and hugged her. Since I knew what Vada had been through cause I watched the movie obviously, I had a soft spot for her.
âUh... Thanks y/n......â She awkwardly hugged me back and blushed a little bit, looking down and covering her face. âHow did you know?.....â She looked up at me a bit more, curious than before.
âBecause youâre a movie character and I saw your story⌠thatâs what Iâm trying to explain to you guysâ I sighed and looked at Tara.
âTara you have a sister called Sam. You two had been survivors of a ghostface attack two times. You have several stab wounds in your abdomen and shoulder and on your hand as well. Sam ist the daughter of the origin Ghostface killer, Billy Loomies â I explained âYour form the movie called Scream, your character was introduced in the fifth and sixth movie⌠my fav onesâ I added with a shy smile.
Tara looked around impressed âHow do you even know all these facts?â She whispered and realized that I knew all the names without even asking any one of you âItâs like, magic or something?â She asked.
I looked at Cairo and said âAnd your form one of the current movies my girlfriend made. Itâs called millers girl. And yeah. I know what you did. Accusing your teacher for something he did not really do but Iâm on your side tho. But itâs not cool to kiss and blackmail your best friend Winnie. Your dangerous Cairo. But I still feel mesmerized by you⌠somehowâ I explained and shrugged.
Cairo rolled her Eyes âWow, just wow. Who cares? I didn't ask for your input so keep it to yourself please and thank youâ She turns her cigarette off and crosses her arms, giving me a pissed look.
âYou are really mean... You seemed so nice at the beginning of your movieâ i said almost disappointed. âYeah well I turned out to be different and that's too bad for youâ She continues to glare at me with aggressive eyes.
I sighed again and looked at Mabel.
âMabel. Youâre from the movie finestkind. Youâre dating some fisher guy. Itâs about crime and drugs. Your character is only a side character but youâre cool. Pretty bold and flirty. You had some spicy scenes respect for thatâŚâ
âWow you really do know a lot-â She was cut off by Wednesday, who started making an unimpressed sound.
I turned to her âAnd then the one and only Wednesday Addams. You are the currently new portrayed version of that character. You have your own tv show. You attend a dark Academy and solve crimes and murderes⌠second season will come out soon and by the way⌠people ship you pretty hard with Enidâ
Wednesday looked me dead in the eyes âI do not appreciate your tone of delivery at all. Iâm going to have to ask you to watch it a little, or else⌠thatâs the nicest I can makeâ She gives me a scary look of disapproval and anger.
âHey I didnât wanted to be harsh or something⌠Iâm just trying to telling you guys about the movies you all are from. I donât know how you made it to my universe but you are all not real in this oneâŚâ
âIts your fault we're all here in the first place, so itâs best if you donât go around with a mouth that likes to spill every detail about us that you possibly can, hmm?â Wednesday gave me a threatening look, daring me to break eye contact first.
I felt a bit hurt and said quite
âSorry⌠but I really donât how all of you came hereâ I looked around âYou all just appeared suddenlyâ I said softly.
âitâs time for you to make us all disappearâ Wednesday looked at me with cold, empty, soulless eyes.
âI donât know howâ exhausted I looked in the eyes of all of them.
âLook guys, letâs not make things too hard on her. She didn't even do anything, all of us just suddenly appeared and its not her fault! â said Tara and stands up for me. I felt so relived when Tara stand up for me, making me fall for her even harder. Okay focus y/n Jenna is your girlfriend. But yeah⌠I also love all characters she plays⌠nevermind.
âI must say, you are very pretty y/n...â said randomly Mabel with a smile.
âTh-thank youâ I said blushing hard and looked down.
Vadas eyes fell on me âYeah, Taraâs right though. She didnât have anything to do with why weâre here, did she?â Glances at Wednesday and Cairo, looking suspicious.
Cairo Shrugs âIâve been trying to find out but so far I havenât got a clue...â Her eyes narrow as she looks at her surroundings âWe need to figure this out as soon as possible...â
âWell as soon as possible isnât quick enough for me, Iâm not going to sit around here forever just to wait this all outâ Wednesday added.
âYou guys can do what ever you want.
I donât know how all of you became real. Just know that in this universe none of you is supposed to be realâ I said and sat down on the couch exhausted
Wednesday Shrugs âWell we didn't do it on purpose. It's just something crazy I guess...
What if we never make our way back...â She looks at everyone with a cold, intimidating stare. Itâs clear sheâs trying to hold her anger in check for the moment.
âCome on, don't even talk like that Wednesday... we'll find our way back, one way or another...â Tara said.
âYeah right? We're not stuck here with her forever!â Cairo shudders at the thought.
âOuch?â I said not sure if I should feel offended.
âYou should feel offended. We are going to find a way out of here and when we do, I am making sure I stay the hell away from youâ She glares at me again.
I gave Cairo a thumbs up and looked at Tara speechless saying
âI canât believe I actually had a crush when I watched her movie back thenâ
Vada shrugged âWell I'm glad you changed your mindâ
âWhy? What kind of crush did you have on me?â asked Cairo, not letting her anger die down yet.
âNoneâ I said trying to end the conversation. âCome on, you can tell me. Please?â She leans forward with puppy eyes, but they look a little bit sinister.
âJust for the record since my girlfriend plays all your characters I do have a thing for all of you for sureâ
âWhat do you mean your girlfriend plays all of us?â Wednesday gives me a suspicious look, leaning in closer and giving a scary look again. âMy girlfriend. The actress. Who portrays all your characters in this universeâ
Mabel stares at me for a while. Her eyes narrow even more than before* What's her name?â
âI donât buy itâ Wednesday scoffed
âWhat's that supposed to mean, Wednesday?â I asked
âThat was an act, youâre not just now realizing that y/nâs girlfriend is the one who plays all of us. I think sheâs trying to hide somethingâ
âIâm telling the truth you can google itâ I said louder
Wednesday Takes me by the collar and glares at me with a cold, intimidating look âOkay then, Y/N. I want the truth and I want to know now. Whatâs your play here?â
Some part of me felt scared and turned on. It took me some time to answer. âI swear nothing. I was just enjoying my day off and suddenly all of you were hereâ
âAnd nothing at all happened before that?â Wednesdays voice was getting more and more sinister as each second passed.
âA storm came up. Thunder⌠lightningâ I explained. âHm... a storm...â She let go of my collar and turned her back on me. She began pacing around the room silently.
âMaybe it has to do with the storm then? Some Paradoxon?â I said
Wednesday looked st me âIs that really all you know? You have no other secrets youâre holding back?â
âNothing. Iâm the most boring person right hereâ I said quite
âBoring?â She looked back at me and smirked, and turned back around again âIf you think your life isnât interesting, then youâd better make your peace with this life being all youâll ever be. You have no purpose here. You have nothing to contribute to this worldâ She stopped her pacing and turned back around again âThis is it for you. This is all your life is worthâ She let me take that in for a while before speaking again âSo do not call yourself boring ever again. You hear me?â
I nodded feeling touched.
âGoodâ She sat down next to me, and put her hand on my shoulder. After a while of silence, she finally broke the tension âIâm sorry I yelled at you. I shouldnât have done thatâ She looked down at her feet, ashamed.
âThank you⌠i really appreciate your apologyâ I whispered feeling better now.
âOkay since we all donât know why youâre here and Iâm tired of explaining and arguing⌠Wanne watch a movie together?â
