(KNY) YANDERE PLATONIC! KOKUSHIBO x SISTER READER: You, Shibou. I, Kokoro.
YSIK Masterlist // Next chapter
A Cherry Blossom is a pretty flower, Blooming in the spring and representing renewal and joy. However it is quick to die out in the winter, Shrivelling up with it's beautiful colour following with it. Leaving the memory of it gone yet never forgotten.
The moon shun bright in the obsidian black sky.
The light that came down illuminated a small, yet well kept gravestone.
It was old, Ancient probably, Cracks were illustrated boldly into the corners and wrapped around the granite like spider webs. it seemed it was about to fall apart at the seams, yet held strong.
Flowers of all colour bustled around the bottom, Fresh, Newly planted.
A man sat on his knees in front of the stone, the only motion he made was the light breeze running through his hair, making his ponytail sway in the wind.
This was no man but instead a demon.
All six of his eyes lay transfixed on the carving written dead-centre on the tombstone, Carved with great care and precision to get it just right.
'[F/N] Tsugikuni'
The mans face was stoic and unreadable, but his eyes were filled with great sorrow and regret.
Kokushibo's arm reached out to the stone, Clawed hands tracing over the lettering carved out.
He asked himself
'How did it come to this?'
☆♡☆
"Michi-Nii!"
A young girl in a blue dragon-patterned haori called out from a distance, She could of only been about four or five yet her little legs were fast and let her catch up to her older brother.
Michikatsu turned around, Mildly surprised at his sister's sudden appearance he stopped in his tracks letting her finally reach him.
"[F/N]. I thought I told you to stay at home and help mother today, You know she needs someone to help her out." Michikatsu said, A little white lie.
His mother, While she wasn't in the best condition, Didn't currently need any help and even if she did little [F/N] would not of been able to do much about it. After all, She was still very young.
[F/N] heaved trying to catch her breath from all that running.
"I know Michi-Nii! but I wanted to come watch you fight!" [F/N] said excitedly, A big expecting smile on her face.
Michikatsu looked into [F/N]'s big puppy dog eyes and sighed. He just couldn't resist.
"..Well alright.. But for the record it's not 'fighting' it's sword training, I'm not fighting anyone, Just preparing for the day when I do, When I become a samurai!" Michikatsu said triumphantly.
[F/N] squealed.
"That's so cool! When I'm a big kid I wanna fight with swords and become a sam-u-mai!" She exclaimed.
"Samurai" Michikatsu corrected.
"Samai!" She responded.
"Samurai" Michikatsu said, Extra slowly so [F/N] could pick up the syllables.
"Samrai!" She said with complete confidence.
Michikatsu snorted and ruffled the girls hair, Who laughed in return.
"Nevermind, Let's get a move on then."
☆♡☆
The sun was high in the sky naming afternoon.
[F/N] sat on the grassy hill next to her brother, Yorichii.
They sat together watching Michikatsu over yonder train his sword swings by hitting dummies out in the field. She watched in wonder at his determination and focus to his craft
Yorichii was the middle child of the family, Michikatsu the oldest and [F/N] the youngest.
Yorichii was a mute. Never spoke or made any motion to communicate, However that never stopped [F/N]'s undying attempts of trying to.
This mostly just consisted of [F/N] following him around, Sleeping in his futon when she had a nightmare or just simply talking her little heart out to him, To which he'd always respond with a little smile and a nod, Showing that he was listening.
He was usually a daydreamer, But today he seemed just as transfixed as she was at their older brother's training.
"Yor-Nii, Where are you going?" [F/N] asked as she watched Yorichii wander down the hill towards Michikatsu.
As usual she got no answer, So she got up and followed him down.
Michikatsu was so fixated on his sword swings that he never noticed Yorichii standing behind him.
So when the physics of one of his sword slashes brought him back stumbling into Yorichii that snapped him out of his training fever.
"Yorichii? What is it?" Michikatsu said surprised. His brother had never interfered while he was training
Yorichii stood still and took in a deep breath, He clenched his fists as if bracing for impact. He opened his mouth.
"...I want to be a samurai like you!" Yorichii stammered not only in his speech but also in his stance.
Michikatsu's sword dropped to the ground with a clang!
A shockwave went through both Michikatsu and [F/N], Their brothers first words to them leaving them speechless.
[F/N] however was the first to speak up.
"Yor-Nii! You can speak! Now we can really talk to each other!" She proclaimed excitedly, Making Yorichii wobble when she jumped to hug him.
Michikatsu stood there, It was hard to tell whether he was shocked at Yorichii's sudden speech or the proclamation of his goal which happened to coincide with both his and [F/N]'s.
"Yorichii.." Michikatsu said just above a whisper.
Yorichii looked back at him with a shaky determination, it shook and swayed but despite the odds it stood strong.
Michikatsu's form deflated, Going back to his calm and stoic demeanour.
"Yorichii. You know what will happen when you're ten, Right?" He said quietly, Only hinting at Yorichii's fate as [F/N] had no idea.
Yorichii nodded. Only taking a glance down at [F/N].
"I know. But I still want to be a samurai, I want to be like you." Yorichii said, Still not given up.
[F/N] perked up.
"Me too! I wanna be a.. samurai too! Like Michi-Nii!" She said, Making sure to pronounce 'Samurai' slowly to pronounce the syllables.
"Hey, You got it right" Michikatsu pointed out, Mildly proud.
Yorichii looked down at [F/N] who still was hugging his waist, He smiled.
"Really? All of us want to be swordsmen?" Yorichii asked now a bit more reserved. He scratched the back of his head.
"Swordgirl!" [F/N] said confidently.
"Swordswoman" Both Yorichii and Michikatsu corrected at the same time.
"Swordgirl?"
This will take a while.
☆♡☆
A good few years have passed since then.
The five-year old little girl [F/N] had grown into a blossoming young woman and is now a little younger than her big brothers were back then.
She still wore a resized version of her blue dragon-patterned haori, The only thing that really stayed the same and came with her through her walk of life.
"You know [F/N], I could convince your father to buy you a new haori" Akeno Tsugikuni, Her mother said to her while running a needle through her haori, resizing the fabric to fit [F/N]'s bigger self.
"This is about the fifth time I've had to refit this old thing. I'm sure your dad would prefer you to have a new one, You are coming up on marriage age after all" She softly spoke to [F/N], But her eyes were fixed on the fabric, Stitching with care.
[F/N] shook her head nonchalantly.
"No, Mom. This was a gift from you, It was homemade. You can't just buy that kind of thing from a tailor." She huffed.
[F/N] sat on the edge of her mothers sick-bed, Her mother laid propped up so she could
Akeno smiled.
"Besides, I don't even think I'd want to get married. I like how my life is right now and you know I still want to be an onna-musha, right?" [F/N] said.
True, Even after all these years [F/N] still held onto the goal of becoming a Female samurai, An onna-musha.
However it seemed like a pipe-dream. With her father's influence and strength she had never picked up a sword, No matter how hard or surreptitiously tried to steal or borrow one of her brothers swords she was always caught in the end and given a right punishment for it.
Still, This never changed her mind on the matter.
"I see... Still haven't given up on that dream, have you?" She hummed.
"Well anyways, If you're so invested into my own sowing then maybe-" Akeno broke out into a fit of coughs, She dropped the needle in favour of covering her mouth.
[F/N] quickly rushed over to her side.
"Mom? Mom, Are you alright" She said, Lightly patting her mothers back.
Akeno stopped sputtering out coughs but still softly wheezed during breaths.
"I'm.. Fine, Sweetheart" She spoke, However her hoarse throat said otherwise.
"No, You're not! You don't need to fix my haori, We can continue later but right now you should lay down." [F/N] worried.
Akeno shook her head.
"I said I'm alright but.. could you go fetch me.. Some water?" She breathed heavily as if all the air around her had thinned.
[F/N] quickly nodded and rushed out the room to complete the task.
She swiftly opened the shoji doors to her house and made her way over to the water-well sat upon the hill. She hoped to the gods above that the well hadn't dried up in the early summer heat.
She reached the small little well and peered inside, The water in the well was plentiful. [F/N] sighed in relief and proceeded to wheel the bucket on the rope down the stony passageway.
CLASH!
[F/N] jumped at the sound, Letting the rope slip from her grasp she watched the bucket fall from its steady pace and hit the water with a loud splash!
"No!" [F/N] yelled. The well was too far down for her to reach the bucket. She cried out in frustration and looked over at the source of noise that dominoed the bucket falling.
Over in the valley beyond the hill was Michikatsu, Still out training with his sword. It was fairly early in the morning and judging by the sweat-beads on his face and the mess of his clothes [F/N] could tell he's been up training since six at least.
That's right, Along with her, Michikatsu had changed as well.
From the strong yet stoic young man that [F/N] had grown up with he had festered into a more strength obsessed yet quiet young man than what he had been before.
[F/N] knew the catalyst well, He was her brother after all.
Yorichii from that day he proclaimed his want to be a samurai, Had demonstrated an inhuman talent for the skill. A man who was working with their father had humoured Yorichii and decided to teach him a basic stance.
However to everyone's surprise, Yorichii had landed four blows on the man and swiftly defeated him. Which is something that Michikatsu never could.
From then on Michikatsu grew a bit darker, Maybe not noticeably. Not noticeable from her father, mother or even Yorichii. But [F/N] could tell.
She barely saw him anymore, Well it was more of she never talked to him anymore. She still watched him train, at least from afar.
An idea clicked in her head.
The bucket in the well was too far down for her to reach, Yes. However it wasn't too far for Michikatsu who was a foot taller than her.
She walked down the hill, Calling out for him.
"Michi-Nii!" She called out to him.
Michikatsu stopped swinging his sword and turned around to look at his little sister with an annoyed scowl on his face.
"What? Can't you see I'm a bit busy at the moment" Michikatsu hissed.
[F/N] froze for a moment.
"I just need a little help, the bucket in the well fell into the water" She explained softly, Scared to entice her brothers wrath.
Michikatsu groaned.
"Alright." He said simply and quickly headed over to the well. [F/N] followed after, Smiling.
"Thank you, Michi-Nii!" She said thankfully.
[F/N] grabbed onto his hand to hold it, But she was shaken off by Michikatsu.
"I told you to stop calling me that, It's stupid and childish" He said, grimacing.
[F/N]'s smile was put out like a light, But she nodded. Trying to respect his wishes.
They got to the well and Michikatsu fished out the bucket with ease and handed it over to [F/N] who bowed down in thanks but with much less emotion put into it.
With that, Michikatsu walked away without a goodbye. Off to go and continue training for the rest of the day and coming back home in the dead of night, Just to go to sleep and repeat the process over and over again.
[F/N] frowned but took the bucket of water back to the house.
Sliding open the Shoji doors she entered the house, remarkably more downtrodden than before.
As she walked the halls towards her mothers room she heard two voices arguing in a hushed tone.
"She doesn't want to get married."
"Too bad. She's coming upon marriage age and if she doesn't want to disrespect this family she will do as she's told and marry the man we've picked out for her"
The two voices, Her mother and father.
She slipped quietly behind the half-open shoji door, Intently listening in on their conversation
"She want's to be an onna-musha, You know." Her mother admitted.
"An onna-musha. Really." Her father responded, A tone full of disgusted shock ran through his voice.
"That girl is too weak to even tend to the horses. Not to mention the girl's only worth will be to marry her off to a nobleman. Her being a samurai along with the men would just be wrong" He said.
There was a silence not just between [F/N]'s parents, But her too.
She's known her father hadn't particularly paid attention to her nor did he show any affection but to think he thought this lowly of her was a gut punch to the stomach.
"Don't say that, Akuhei. She could be listening" Her mother said in a whisper.
"I hope she is. She needs to learn the truth sooner or later or she'll grow up and be delusional to the real world."
[F/N] let tears flow from her cheeks, Dripping down onto the floor.
If she couldn't even get a bucket out from a well, Could she really be a swordswoman?
☆♡☆
Something wasn't right.
It had been a good few hours after [F/N] had eavesdropped on her parents conversation and it had fallen into night-time.
[F/N] had long gone to bed but she wasn't able to fallen asleep easy. It was strange, No matter the situation she had always had no issue with falling into unconciousness.
She rolled and scuffled around on her futon uncomfortably. Could it of been the conversation earlier? No. Couldn't be that, It was something else.
[F/N] rubbed her eyes and got up from her futon. She shuffled on her sandals and quickly draped her newly-sized blue dragon haori around her figure for warmth.
She decided to go for a walk to clear her head.
[F/N] walked softly in the darkened hallways of her home, The soft moonlight illuminated her pathway through the house. She was lost in her own thoughts from the events of the day.
Her father's words, Michikatsu's attitude, Her mother's illness. It all swirled in her mind like a hurricane.
"..I like my life how it is right now"
The words she had told her mother. A lie.
She hated how everything was right now. Her dad saw her as an object to be bid on. Michikatsu acted like she was nothing but a burden to him and Yorichii was nowhere to be found.
Besides, Even if Yorichii and Michikatsu weren't talking either they were obviously the more important in the family.
They were the Sun and the Moon, Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi.
[F/N] wasn't a celestial deity or a celestial body, She was just the terrestrial afterthought. Yorichii and Michikatsu were both skilled and talented in their own rights, They were fawned over by the girls and even some of the boys in the village. They were praised and respected.
[F/N] wasn't even allowed to leave the house.
Now that she thought about it, There was only was her and her mother.
Her mother.
While walking she had stopped in her tracks. Light shone in through the hallway from an open door.
Her mother's door.
[F/N]'s brow quirked. Was her mother up this late as well? She should be asleep, She was very ill after all.
[F/N] peeked through the doorway, Her eyes widened.
Yorichii stood over the bed, Her mother layed motionlessly on the bed.
"Yor-Nii?" [F/N] asked.
Yorichii turned around, A strained look in his eyes. His jaw stood locked tight as if there was something painful he had to say.
"Mother has passed on" Yorichii whispered.
What?
No, No. No no no no no. That couldn't be right, No. It couldn't be right.
[F/N] stumbled over to her mother, Shoving Yorichii out of the way to whom backed off.
"Mum, Mum. Wake up, Hey. Hey, Do you hear me?" [F/N] cried, She grasped onto her mother's limp hand, She shook it in futile attempt to wake her.
"Mum you can't, Mum please." Tears started rolling down her cheeks now, Her breathing laboured.
"Yorichii, Please did you try-"
She turned around, Yorichii was nowhere to be seen.
He had left.
He had left and hadn't even bothered to try and comfort her.
She stared in shock, Not believing her situation
She was brought back by a hand squeezing her own.
She snapped her head back down to her mother, Whose eyes lain weakly on [F/N]'s. A soft yet painful smile appeared on her face.
"Mum!" [F/N] choked.
"[F/N]..." Akeno whispered. "Come closer.."
[F/N] Nodded and leant down closer to her mother, Kneeling down now to listen closely. Her eyes never leaving her mothers
"I never wanted to be married... My father had sold me off at a young age as well." Akeno started.
"I had a chance.. Once.. To leave this place, To get out of my marriage but do you know what happened?" She asked, Looking mournfully into the eyes of her youngest, Who was now choking on her sobs and tears rushing out from her eyes.
Akeno didn't wait for an answer
"I didn't take it.. I was too afraid." A sad smile came upon her.
"My life had ended right there since I never took that chance.. And the only good thing to ever happen after that... were you three."
"[F/N].. Yorichii.. Michikatsu. My beautiful children" Akeno let tears roll down her face now, Reminiscing on her life that was flashing before her now.
"Please.. You now have a chance. Get away while you still can.." Her other hand wiped the tears off of [F/N]'s face weakly, However her hand started to fall.
"Run.. and I promise I will see you again, The kami will reunite us... I love you, [F/N]" She whispered, Her hand falling to her side and the others grip becoming limp. The light in her eyes fading.
"Mum... Mum! No! no no!" [F/N] sobbed, Shaking her mothers now lifeless corpse she collapsed to the floor and cried out for her mum to come back, to speak to her.
"Run, You still have your chance"
Her mothers voice rang in her head, It echoed throughout her entire being.
And with love and tears, She kissed her mother on the forehead and closed her dead eyes. Akeno's face displayed rest, peace.
She said her final goodbye's to her mother and left the room to go back to her own.
And with a heavy heart and a rucksack full of essentials, She climbed out her rooms window and left in the dead of night.
☆♡☆
[F/N] trudged through the woodlands.
It was now daybreak, The sun rose upon the distance and shown through cracks in the tree's.
Through all that time [F/N] never stopped walking, Never took a break. The only thing on her mind was escape to a better place.
It was only once she appeared upon a clearing did she stop walking.
In front of her was a rundown Shinto shrine placed upon the mountainy and rocky terrain of the woods.
It had obvious that people hadn't been here in decades by the dust, cobwebs and poor conditions of all the archways and cracked stone lanterns lining the pathway up to the shrine entrance.
Back in it's heyday it would of been grand. A massive shrine that could of held a good few hundred people, As there was a large amount of corridors and a second floor.
Not to mention the vast courtyard [F/N] now found herself standing in.
She breathed in the highland forest air, Took in the birds chirping and the warm light of the sun on her skin.
She looked upon the sign hanging from the archway.
"Inari Ōkami"
The kami of Foxes, Agriculture, Fertility, Tea, Sake and Swordsmiths.
[F/N] frowned at the state of the shrine, Thinking of it as a great disrespect to Inari.
Another thought ran through her mind.
Home. A rundown one for sure, But nothing she couldn't fix.
And that's what she did.
For the next ten years that's what [F/N] did. She fixed the Archways, Refilled the stone lamps, Rebuilt the structuring, Cleaned up the cobwebs and dust all until it looked newly built.
Everyday since she came across it she would give offerings to Inari Ōkami. Ranging from nuts and fruit she would pick up while scavenging to Flowers and pieces of jewellery.
She'd light candles in their honour, Pray to them not for good fortune but for the reformation of the shrine.
She'd grown attached to the shrine, So much so that she had completely forgotten her goal of becoming a swordswoman in favour of being the sole shrine-maiden.
And in that time she had finally bloomed into a beautiful young woman and if anyone should come across her they would describe her as such.
Not that anyone came along though, The shrine was in the middle of nowhere and [F/N] had seen no one in the past decade.
As [F/N] got up for another day to tend to the shrine she wondered what her brothers were doing now.
☆♡☆
[F/N] carried her basket full of fruits, Satisfied from a successful scavenge.
She headed back up towards the large archway that was there to greet people into the temple. It use to be covered in splintered wood but thanks to the efforts of [F/N] the archway was restored with a fresh coat of paint and smoothing of the wood.
When she got up there she stopped, Her eyes widened.
The massive wooden doors to the thick stone wall gate were left wide open.
She was sure she had closed them when she had left.
Her body stiffened and her palms became sweaty.
Who could be in her shrine? Nobody came up the mountains and the nearest village was a good few dozen kilometres away on the far other side of the forest. No one who was just wandering could come across the temple.
[F/N] slowly put the basket of fruit onto the ground, Making sure not to make a sound.
She unsheated her Kaiken from her obi and slowly made her way inside to the courtyard, Which seemed empty.
But she looked upon the main building and just like the gate doors the shoji to the main building were left wide open.
[F/N] confirmed her suspicions. Someone was definetly here.
She made her way inside, Checking the main hallways she found no one around however that never made [F/N] let down her guard.
THUMP!
[F/N] flinched. The sound of an object knocking over came from just down the hall she was facing. Gripping her Kaiken tighter she moved forward towards the sounds
As she got closer, She heard a duo of voices arguing.
"Stop moving, Brother."
"Argh, If you'd let me do it by myself this would go much faster."
"No. You're injured, let me do it."
Wait..
"I'm told you I'm fine. It's just a cut."
Those voices..
[F/N] lowered her Kaiken. She stood, legs shaking. Heart pounding as she slowly called out.
"Michi-Nii? Yori-Nii?"
A sudden shuffling was heard in the room across from her.
The semi-shut shoji doors slammed open and out first came Michikatsu, Who had a semi-wrapped bandage around his arm with Yorichii following close after.
They were in their twenties now and were much older and their faces had changed a lot. But no matter how much they had physically changed [F/N] recognised her brothers, Who both now had surprised yet unrecognisable expressions in their face.
[F/N]'s mouth was open, Her eyes wide and sparkling with recognition.
"[F/N]..." Yorichii said.
"Yori-Nii! Michi-Ni-" She was cut off by the sudden arms pulling her into a tight hug. Michikatsu had moved so fast that she didn't see him move.
"[F/N].." He stuttered, Swaying back and forth while hugging her.
"Nii-san.." [F/N] cried, Gripping the back of his purple hexagonal hakama tightly as she buried her head into the side of his neck.
"You've grown so much.. And look at that" [F/N] grazed the hilt of of his sword, taking in the craftsmenship.
"You've both become swordsmen. I'm so proud, I wish I could've been there to see your ceremony" She whispered.
Michikatsu never responded to her words, instead going into a speech of his own.
"[F/N].. I lost you. You disappeared out of nowhere.. I searched for you for years.." Michikatsu was lost for words. If [F/N] didn't know better she could of sworn he was crying.
"I'm sorry, Michi-Nii. I'm sorry I didn't tell you where I went" [F/N] whispered.
The bear hug grip on her got tighter.
"Never. And I mean never leave me again. You have no idea what you put me through... You better promise" He scolded. [F/N] nodded vigorously.
"I promise."
☆♡☆
"So this is where you've been living for the past ten years?" Michikatsu asked, Looking around the haiden.
The place was a massive hall dedicated to worship of Inari. at the very end was the main worship shrine, Which was bustling with hand-woven straw baskets filled with offerings and lit candles in Inari's honour.
"Yeah.. When I ran away ten years I came across this place and made it my home. Been like that ever since." [F/N] smiled, Proud of the hall.
It was indeed very pretty, The new refurbished decorations of flowers, candles and banner-work created a grandiose appearance. The wooden pillars supported the tall height of the room and had beams at the top connecting them all with baskets filled with flowers hanging from them.
The entire room looked like it was built and cared for by an entire team of shrine maidens, Not a single dust spot to be seen.
Yorichii and Michikatsu stared in awe at the work.
"And you maintained this place all by yourself?" Yorichii asked, Genuinely in wonder at the décor.
"Well.. Apart from the occasional seller I meet when I'm scavenging for food nearest the road.. They sell me candles, Banners and other things needed for maintenance.. It's all done by me." [F/N] explained.
"It's.. Impressive. To think how you learned all this.." Michikatsu said.
"I get all my information from the shrine's library, From then on you figure it out on the way." [F/N] responded, Completely humble to the praise she received.
She turned around to her brothers with a smile.
"What about you two? Tell me what's been happening, And how'd you get that cut?" She asked innocently, Pointing to Michikatsu's bandaged arms
The two twins looked at each other, Having a silent conversation with each other. Contemplating what they should tell. Both of them very apprehensive, they shared a knowing look between them.
[F/N] frowned.
"..Is it not something you want to tell me?" She asked.
"Well.. It's hard to believe but-" Yorichii started.
"It’s just a mistake from sword training. Don't you worry about it." Michikatsu finished.
Yorichii looked over at him, Surprised at his sudden interruption.
[F/N]'s eyes narrowed. She felt curious but decided to drop the subject.
"Well anyways.. I need to go retrieve my fruit basket from outside and do my morning rounds around the shrine. Feel free to have a look around, Just please don't touch anything " [F/N] said, bowing her head low and heading towards the exit.
"Hold on, I'll come with you" Michikatsu said, He went to follow after his sister but was stopped when a hand pulled him back.
"Go on ahead, [F/N]. Michikatsu-Nii will catch up." Yorichii said. [F/N] nodded.
She said goodbye in the form of a hug, Michikatsu then Yorichii.
Michikatsu shot Yorichii a scorning look.
"What do you want?" Michikatsu hissed, The usual irritation of his brother turned up a notch.
"We need to tell her, Nii-san. So we can help her set up wisteria around the place." Yorichii argued.
Michikatsu gritted his teeth.
"Wisteria would be a good idea. But we don't need to tell her about demons, I mean look at her! She's still young" Michikatsu said, exasperated.
"She's eighteen, Nii-san. More than old enough to know about demons, about how to protect herself." Yorichii countered.
"She won't need to learn how to protect herself If I'm there to do it for her" Michikatsu hissed.
Yorichii's face scrunched up. He took a step forward towards Michikatsu and stood steady.
"Nii-san, I know you and [F/N] were attached by the hip when she was young but you can't always be there for her, She's strong enough to survive on her own but not strong enough to survive a possible demon attack, So we need to inform her. She won't let us plant wisteria around the shrine without a very good reason " Yorichii argued, His point stood stronger than he did.
Michikatsu's teeth gritted and his face was a visage of concealed anger like they were standing in the eye of the storm waiting for the inevitable onslaught.
"You always need to know better, Don't you Yorichii?" Michikatsu spat in a low tone.
Yorichii was surprised at Michikatsu's sudden animosity towards him, He was confused. This had never happened before.
"What do you mean to imply by that, Nii-san?" Yorichii asked, Slight worry coming over him for his brother who seemed restless.
Michikatsu suddenly became aware of his sudden outburst, His shoulders dropped from their previously stiff position. He sighed.
"Nothing... I shouldn't of spoke out like that." Michikatsu said, Quickly bowing his head to Yorichii he began to leave the shrine hall.
"Where are you going?" Yorichii called after him.
"To go find [F/N]. And make sure she's alright" He responded, Leaving the hall in search of his little sister.
☆♡☆
Michikatsu looked around the shrine for [F/N].
He walked the halls, checked the empty rooms, searched the courtyard, looked around the perimeter of the shrine and scoured through the shrine's impressively large and overflowing gardens but turned up empty.
He was frustrated. Where could she be? The forest surrounding the temple was fairly thick and shading and who knows? A demon might of been able to cover itself in the foliage and maybe she had left the shrine to pick up her basket only to come face to face with the monster and-
Michikatsu couldn't think anymore about it.
Sweat beads started forming on his head, What if she ran away? She couldn't, she sworn to him that she'd never leave him again. She couldn't of done that to him! What if she wasn't happy to see him and took the chance to leave while he was being lectured by Yorichii?
Yorichii.
Did she favour him over Michikatsu? When you were hugging him to say goodbye he could of sworn you had hugged Yorichii just a little bit tighter than him, Smiled a little bigger, Looked a little happier.
As he searched the halls for a second time he felt another burst of envy rise up in him, Something that had been occurring more and more lately.
His thoughts stopped when he stepped on an uneven dip in the ground. He felt around with his foot and outlined a frame of sorts.
He looked down to see he was standing on a rug. He then looked up realising that he was at the end of the hallway.
He reached down and pulled away the rug revealing a trapdoor, Assumedly leading down to the basement of the shrine.
A basement? Shrines don't usually have basements, He thought to himself.
He noticed the padlock on the handle was unlocked It was also spotless without a trace of dust, Indicating that it was used often.
He opened the door with a small creak of the wood. It revealed a short stone staircase which lead down to a low-ceiling hallway.
Michikatsu raised an eyebrow. He looked left and right before going down the stairs slowly. One step at a time.
He got down to the bottom of the stairs. The ceiling was certainly low as it grazed the top of Michikatsu's head making him feel uncomfortable in the small passageway.
He walked along the tunnel, each of his footsteps producing a faint echo as he went along. The tunnel was comparably cold to the early summer heat from up top.
At the end of the passageway was a wooden door, It looked old and rigid. Looking at the rest of the shrine this was a surprise for Michikatsu as the rest of it was pristine and in perfect shape compared to the derelict looking door.
He reached the door which he now realised was opened just a slight amount.
He pressed his ear to the door, Listening intently.
The sound of cloth on metal sounded on the other side. It was a sound he recognised well, It was polishing of a sword.
He pushed the door open to find [F/N] sitting on her knees with a strange looking sword in hand, a dry cloth in the other.
"Michi-Nii!" [F/N] jumped in surprise and dropped the cloth.
She sat in a much wider room than the hallway. The stone walls were filled with holding frames and shelves, The majority of them empty but still a good few holding rather precious looking trinkets.
At the end of the room which was facing the door and [F/N] held a sort of table harbouring a headpiece stand, Which was obviously suppose to hold the sword in her hands. It was also home to a kitsune mask hanging above it with eyes that looked like it was staring right through him.
"How'd you find the room?" [F/N] said rather surprised.
"Never mind how I found it. Why are you here?" He asked sternly, As if he was scorning a misbehaving child.
"Why am I in a room inside my own shrine?" [F/N] scoffed lightly.
"More of why didn't you tell me where you were, I was worried and I couldn't find you anywhere." He asked more forceful in tone.
[F/N] seemed confused at his reasoning but chalked it up to him still being a little shaken by their reunion.
"...I'm sorry... Coming in here to tend to the artefacts here is apart of my weekly rounds." She explained. A meek look appearing on her face.
Michikatsu sighed.
"Alright then. But please, Tell me next time you wander off into some hidden basement." He said in a softer voice leading to [F/N] calming down.
"What is this room anyways?" Michikatsu asked, Examining the room.
[F/N] peaked up, A sparkle of excitement in her eyes.
"Oh! Well according to the blueprints and builders logs I've found in the library this room was specially built to hold the shrine's treasures. Oh! Wait, hold on!" [F/N] exclaimed.
She reached over to the table in front of her and pulled out a fairly tiny roll of parchment paper, Unfolding it she displayed it to Michikatsu who looked down reading it.
"Apparently one of the noble-clanswoman paying for the building of the shrine here had a really steamy affair with some hot-shot samurai who use to gift her a TON of gifts" [F/N] explained with a passion, Her eyes held a glint of story.
"So to hide them away from her husband she built this little hidey-hole so he wouldn't discover them" She finished.
"What happened to her?" Michikatsu asked, Entertaining her passion.
She only shrugged though.
"No clue, The rest of the parchment was torn and I haven't found the other half..." She said, Disappointment filling her voice.
Michikatsu nodded and looked towards the sword in [F/N]'s lap.
"I can understand the other little objects around here but a sword?" Michikatsu said dumfounded.
[F/N] shook her head.
"No! No. The only two items in the room that weren't a gift was this sword and the kitsune mask hanging over there" She said, Pointing towards the kitsune mask hung by rope.
"Then what are they doing here?"
"They're the shintai that were suppose to be worshipped here at the shrine." [F/N] stretched over and tugged the hanging mask off the rope and presented both it and the sword to Michikatsu, Signalling him to take it.
As he did she told him to be careful while holding them.
The sword was nothing similar to any Katana he's wielded, Nor was it like anything he'd seen in the country. Instead it was built like a very large medieval English sword with the only hint of Japanese influence being the blue hilt which resembled the typical katana.
One side of the sharpened blade was covered in a sort of second sharper metal which glimmered azure in the dim light of the room.
The mask however was oddly designed compared to the usual festival mask. It was made of porcelain and its eyes were carved in a sort of wide eyed stare, The whites of it being a dark black and the pupils sapphire.
Thick cerulean marks adorned the mask, Swirling around the mask and centring at the bullseye of the mask. Except for the ears which were deeply patterned with swirls and flower-esque designs culminating at the covered tips.
The two items radiated a sort of energy from both which Michikatsu couldn't place.
"They're twin artefacts. It's said in the shrines folklore that they belonged to Inari Okami themselves gifted to them by their father, Izanagi. And from the heavens above they dropped them on accident and both the sword and the mask fell to here, The mortal realm" She explained with low wonder.
"The sword is named very bluntly as "The Soul Sword". It's called that because it's said by the previous shrine maidens that when a person is killed by the blade the soul of the person is absorbed into it and prevented from passing onto the afterlife. An eternity in the blade." She told as if it was rehearsed, It probably was.
She pointed to the Mask
"The mask however isn't named but it's said to warp the body of the user to their desire, Disguising themselves completely." She said.
"And does it work?" Michikatsu asked, Studying the mask.
"Haven't tried. It's a sacred artefact of the shrine. It would be a disrespect to Inari if I did." She stated.
Michikatsu examined both of the artefacts as [F/N] rambled away on the tale of the two, They were very well kept.
"You really know a lot about this stuff. Don't you?" He said more of to himself.
[F/N] nodded.
"Yeah. I guess it's just something I'm passionate about" She muttered.
Suddenly, Their conversation was interrupted by a voice upstairs calling out.
"Nii-San! [F/N]!" Yorichii called out from up above them, Voice faint and muffled from the thick stone walls.
Michikatsu groaned being mildly annoyed at being interrupted by Yorichii. [F/N] perked up however.
"That's Yorichii. Better go see what he needs!" She said. [F/N] grabbed both the sword and the mask from Michikatsu's grasp and settling them back with care onto their designed positions, As well as rolling up the parchment paper and putting it under the table
She dusted off her beryl coloured haori and got up from the tatami mat she was sitting on.
"Come on, Better not keep him waiting!" [F/N] said making her way out without waiting for Michikatsu, Who quickly followed after.
They made their way back up the stairs to find Yorichii a few metre's down the hall. He was standing there watching them come up with an arm stretched out, A crow perched neatly on it with a small roll of parchment paper tied to its neck by a string.
"What is it, Yorichii?" Michikatsu asked eyeing the crow.
"Oyataka-sama has summoned us to the headquarters, Urgent meeting." Yorichii said, a tint of unhappiness in his voice.
Michikatsu's face scrunched up in resentment, Obviously not excited by the news.
[F/N] frowned.
"..You've got to leave?" She asked looking up at Michikatsu who looked back with her with an expression saying that he didn't want to. But Yorichii's voice maintained importance.
"..I suppose so.." He said reluctantly. Not wanting to leave his sister alone. His eyes expanded with an idea formed in his head.
"Why don't you come with us, [F/N]?" Michikatsu asked going to stand next to Yorichii. The crow once perched on his arm squawked once. And with a flap of its wings it took off out an ajar window.
[F/N]'s palms suddenly got sweaty at the thought. Her shoulders felt heavy and slumped down with her face portraying one of heavy adversion
She shook her head, Michikatsu's face fell.
"It's not a long trip if that's what you're worried about, If you get tired we can get a horse or I could carry you-" Michikatsu was cut off by [F/N]'s hum of disapproval.
"It's not the trip. It's just I really don't want to leave the shrine unattended y'know?" She asserted. Evidently after spending an entire decade in it's walls she had grown dependant and attached so much to the point she couldn't journey far out of it.
"You can leave the shrine for a few days. Just please come with us, It'll be fine." Michikatsu reasoned, a small ounce of anxiety rising up into his chest at the thought of her being left.
[F/N] shook her head again.
"No, I'm sorry. But it's not forever, You can still come visit!" She spouted in an asking tone, Waiting for him to confirm.
Michikatsu shared a look with Yorichii. Yorichii's look told him he agreed with their sister while Michikatsu's only told of aversion.
However feeling outnumbered in the situation he reluctantly sighed and agreed to [F/N]'s proposal.
With a heavy heart and bag of food [F/N] prepared for their journey, Michikatsu spared one last look to see her before heading out into the forest.
☆♡☆
In the five months that passed from that day forward were probably the happiest days of [F/N]'s life.
Every few days her brothers would come and visit her at the shrine after a mission and they'd stay for around two days before the crow came along and the process started all over again.
She'd even arranged them their own little rooms and the crow would come in advance to announce their arrival so she could prepare them food.
It was nice to be reunited with her family after a decade of solitude. The routine they got into was nice and became sort of domestic.
Though, Over the months [F/N] couldn't help but notice a sort of tension between Michikatsu and Yorichii however it was one-sided. Only Michikatsu initiated it while Yorichii was none the wiser.
It seemed more aggressive as the months went on. Michikatsu focused more on his training similar to what he did when they were younger. He'd have more hostility towards Yorichii and weirdest of all he seemed much more clingy and possessive towards her.
However [F/N] didn't like to think of it. While she knew it was there and she knew they'd have to talk about it at some point, She decided that it'd be better to wait for the right time to bring it up.
Everyday [F/N] would get up at around seven in the morning to do her rounds, Collect food and pray to Inari for an hour or two before going out to the main wooden shrine steps to sit and wait for her brothers to return.
When they did they would eat together, They'd tell stories of their mission no matter how surface level and vague they described it. They'd train outside in the courtyard while [F/N] watched from the steps in awe at their skill.
She recalled back to her childhood and her dream of becoming a samurai like her brothers, While it was true she now favoured the shrine over that old fairy-tale it didn't mean that she still didn't ponder over it often, Daydream while she brushed the floors, Envision the swing of a sword when she spun the brush around.
However of course, It was just a pipe dream. Just a silly pipe dream. But often she asked herself: Why not both?
[F/N] watched Michikatsu from the steps as he practiced sword swings in the shrine courtyard, Taking occasional glances at his sister to make sure she was watching him. The thought ran throughout her head. While she hadn't picked up a sword before other than The Soul Sword (Which at times, She lightly swung it around before setting it down. Then right after feeling ashamed for using a sacred artefact she proceeded to pray for forgiveness at the altar)
She was sure she could try.
While Michikatsu was swinging his sword she had got up from the step with a stumble. She wobbled a little and grabbed the handle bars to steady herself.
She took a deep breath and slowly walked down the stairs which suddenly seemed like a herculean task.
She set her sandal-covered feet onto the courtyard with an unnecessary effort and started walking towards Michikatsu who was only a few metre's ahead of her.
With every step she took her body seemed to get heavier. It felt like weights were being tied to her ankles every time she lifted her foot.
The distance seemed to widen between her and her brother. Her eyelids seemed to get heavier too.
And with another single undignified step her knees collapsed on her. She fell down to the floor with a thump! as her body relaxed and crumpled over on the ground.
Her eyes got blurry as she saw Michikatsu rush over to her tired body and listened to him shout out something she couldn't hear
She closed her eyes and untensed her body. Falling into the pitch black void of unconciousness.
☆♡☆
[F/N] lay motionless in her bed.
A wet cloth lay over her forehead and a light blanket was lain on top of her.
It was two months since that day she collapsed. She was carried by Michikatsu and was rushed to the nearest village where she was seen by a doctor who gave her the diagnosis.
It was her mothers illness, Turning out to be hereditary and passed down onto [F/N]. However this seemed to be more severe and had developed into later stages quickly.
The doctor had said that she should be put in bedrest but despite Michikatsu's yelling and paranoid yelling there was no cure.
The first few days consisted of Michikatsu being hunched over her bed refusing to leave her side. Over the two months he had grown even worse than he did before.
He was angry before. Competitive, Hostile, Aggressive you name it. But now?
Now he was paranoid, Jumpy, Clingy piled on with all of those traits before.
Yorichii couldn't get through to him, He didn't hide his ire towards Yorichii now and hissed insults at him whenever he tried to speak to Michikatsu.
The first month was Michikatsu searching for a cure. He'd travel from village to village trying to find a doctor who could cure [F/N]. He scoured the Shrine's libraries and had gone mad trying.
Four days ago he had told [F/N] that he was going out again and that she was not to leave her bed unless she was going to get food or do her prayers, Which [F/N] had begged to be allowed.
He had stocked up enough food and water in the pantry for his trip when he left.
He told her that he would be back in two days, It was four now. Yorichii had been with her the first month but after he was called out on a very important mission he never came back.
When she asked Michikatsu what happened to him, He wouldn't tell her.
To say [F/N] was worried was an understatement. Michikatsu was never late, He'd always sent his crow to let her know even if he was.
Suddenly she was aware of a loud creaking. The main shrine gates.
Michikatsu must be back, [F/N] thought. A rush of excitement ran through her and overpowered the cold sweat of her sickness.
She'd gotten up from her futon and wrapped herself in her blanket to prevent the cold winter air from bothering her too much.
It was snowing outside. A blizzard had grown strong while she had slept earlier. Before when she was well in the health department she had prepared well for the winter and could survive during it, Making the inside of the shrine warm all throughout the season.
Now however that she depended on her brothers who were nowhere to be found the cold permeated the hallways and stung the tips of her fingers and nose.
She shivered and slid open the shoji doors to hobble through the hallways towards the courtyard, Ready to greet Michikatsu.
However when she quietly opened the door she wasn't greeted by Michikatsu. But instead two strange men with swords standing in the snowstorm. who hadn't seem to notice her yet
"This is it? Seems rundown." One of the men said
"According to his crow this is where he has been staying for the past few months. He must be here, Someone must pay for what he did and hiding here won't prevent what's coming to him." The other growled, Anger etched onto his features.
[F/N], A little insulted at her shrine being called run down, Made herself known by letting out a loud cough.
"Who are you? And what are you doing at my shrine?" The girl asked
The two looked up at the source. Their hands jumped to their sheathed swords as they looked up at her in antagonism.
They slowly approached her, So much so that they were now standing under the wooden porch roof.
[F/N] stumbled back in a way of getting distance between her and the men.
The one that called her shrine rundown stepped forward. He bowed down in respect to her.
"Greetings there. We're sorry to trouble you but we're looking for a man. His name is Yorichii Tsugikuni. He wears hanafuda earing's and his hair in a ponytail. Have you seen him anywhere?" He said.
Swords. Right. These must be Yorichii's colleagues. [F/N] relaxed slightly.
"Oh, You two must be his co-workers!" She exclaimed, Relief flooding her system.
She curtsied in respect.
"My name is [F/N] Tsugikuni. I am his younger sister, Unfortunately I haven't seen him for a month or two and I don't know where he's been. Apologies." I sighed.
The two men looked at each other.
"Sister? You're his sister?" The angrier one said, A hint of hostility in his voice.
Suddenly a chill ran up her spine, Something was wrong.
"Uhm.. Yes." [F/N] said with caution. Though she was tempted to lie, It just wasn't in her nature.
The angrier man now referred to as Man A gripped the hilt of his sheathed sword tighter.
"Well. I don't know if you know this but two months ago your brother... Messed up, Per se. Causing a great loss towards the demon corps..." He said. His words implied something unknown to [F/N]. The corners of her lips twitched. Demon corps? Messed up? The meaning eluding her.
"A lot of people got hurt. Including our father." Man A sneered. His face the exact visage of vengeance.
Man B behind him wasn't as such but still held a face of stone.
The realisation of what was happening hit [F/N] like a freight train. Her hands grew sweaty as they quickly rushed the shoji doors.
"I... I am so sorry to hear that. B-But unfortunately my brother isn't here right now... I've got to go tend to the haiden. Please, Come back later." Her voice trembled and shook despite how much she tried to keep her tone steady and confident.
As her hands tried to quickly shut the shoji doors the metal of a sword stopped the doors from opening fully.
[F/N] yelped and stumbled back from the door. The two men forced their way into the shrine hallway. [F/N] felt her back hit the wall.
"I'm sorry about what is to happen. But Yorichii Tsugikuni needs to pay for what he did and the death of his sister will bring about our revenge. Please forgive us." Man B said finally unsheathing his sword.
Run.
[F/N]'s feet grew light as she took off down the shrine hall, The two men hot on her tail as she careened round the corners and throughout the shrine.
She felt her heart pound heavy in her chest. Both from the almost paralysing fear and the illness coursing throughout her system.
Her legs felt weak but carried on. Her pace just a little bit faster than the men behind her despite all odds, She unconsciously thanked the hours she spent out in the woods running around for resources.
Tears burst like a dam from her eyes and flew from her eyes as she sprinted. Choked sobs periodically interrupted the heavy breaths she took from running.
The faster she ran, The more corners she turned the more thoughts ran rampant throughout her head.
Exits? Only the main gate which she was currently running away from and were closed on the way in, It takes too much time to open those doors and the men would catch up to her in no time. Convince them to stop? Impossible. The men seemed determined in their goal and no amount of talking would change anything. The hidden room? On the other side of the shrine and she didn't have the key on her
[F/N] had gained a bit of distance from the men at this point, Having shook them off her trail for a very short amount of time.
She ran to where her heart took her, To the place she felt safest.
The offering hall which use to look bright and full of flowers, baskets of food and was spotless now was empty and cold. The candles went long unlit and a bit of dust built up and went into the air when she slammed open the doors, Making her cough.
[F/N] ran to the altar with her legs trembling. She fell to her knees in front of it crying her eyes out. Her body positioned into its usual prayer formation as she choked out her sobs.
"Please! Inari. I-I'm going to die... I haven't asked for anything from the day I've got here... Please spare my life.. L-Let me live! I don't want to die, Inari. Please.. Please.." [F/N] broke down in front of the altar as she chanted please over and over again like a sacred sutra.
She wailed quietly in front of the shrine letting all her emotions out from her eyes.
She never noticed the men standing behind her as she prayed. Their expressions serious and unaffected by the girl's unheard prayers.
Man A raised his katana. Holding it in his grasp he raised it high above his head.
And with a yell he swiftly brought it down.
Blood splattered the offerings room. Drenching the two men and the girl below, The blade going straight through her back.
☆♡☆
Cold.
It was so cold.
The men had left her there bleeding, How long ago she didn't know.
She had made her way out of the shrine. Past the main doors, Past the entrance gate and the pathway and out into the main part of the forest.
The blade had went right through her chest out the other side, She gripped it tightly while the blood stained her dragon-patterned haori colouring it crimson.
It was a miracle she had got this far out into the blizzard. The tip of her nose had frozen and her jaw chattered letting out cold air.
She weakly turtled into her haori for warmth however it proved futile.
The white snow behind her left a red trail as she walked.
Soon enough it was too much.
Soon enough, She collapsed.
☆♡☆
Quickly throughout the forest, Kokushibo ran quickly up the mountain through the unrelenting blizzard, Which never stung him in the slightest.
It had only been a few hours since he woke up from consuming that man's blood. His appearance now changed from the transformation which took three days to complete.
He carried a vial of that mans blood in one of his hands. He remembered the deal vividly in his mind.
Strength for him, A way to become stronger. Stronger than his brother. A way to avoid the eventual fate of all those who bore the demon slayer mark.
And a vial of that man's blood to save his dying sister.
He ran like hell. Snow crunching from the rapid footsteps behind him.
He stopped however, When the faintest scent of blood invaded his senses.
All three sets of his eyes widened.
He picked up his pace again. Now heading toward the smell.
His heartrate picked up. It couldn't be. It can't. [F/N] was alright. She was okay. Even now after becoming a demon, He still felt possessiveness affection towards his sister.
He came to a halt.
His heart dropped to his stomach as he tried to comprehend the sight in front of him. His eyes widened and his jaw slack open.
There in the snow, Lay a body curled up in a fetal position.
Snow had built up on it. It lay motionless buried in the snow.
He recognised it as [F/N].
"[F/N]!!" He yelled, running over to the body.
He fell to his knees in front of her and shoved off all the built up snow.
He pulled her body so her head was laying down on his lap. He shook her gently.
"...[F/N].. Wake up. Come on." He whispered. His shaking now growing more frantic to her lack of response.
He looked at the vial in his right hand.
Opening her mouth he popped open the seal and poured the red liquid into her mouth.
He watched it pour onto her tongue and down her throat. He waited for the reaction.
However, Nothing came.
He waited and waited. Nothing.
He felt his eyes water and flow out from them as the dawning realisation hit him.
He was holding his little sister's corpse in his arms.
He couldn't protect her. She had died and he wasn't there to protect her.
He yelled, Screamed and cried. In anger, Frustration, Sorrow, Guilt and mourning for his loss. He couldn't do anything.
However when he finally noticed the stab wound he realised this was murder. He could do something.
He carried his sister's body in his arms and pulled her close to his chest as he quietly grieved for her.
He brought her body back to her beloved shrine and set her down at the head of the shrine where she loved the most.
He'd deal with her body later. But for now he had to get revenge for the death of his little sister.
Using his blood demon art to make a sword he gripped it tight.
He set off into the blizzard already with a scent on the targets.
He looked back once at the shrine. The last remaining parts of his humanity dying in there with his sister
And with that he left. Never to look back again.
☆♡☆
It was five hundred years ago.
Kokushibo began reminiscing when he sat in front of her gravestone. What he did that night.
He had gotten his revenge, The two slayers slowly tortured and then eaten by him. Their screams and their pleads for mercy when they showed [F/N] none.
He had started with the fingers and toes, Then he moved up to the lower limbs, Slowly he ate them alive. He made one of them watch him while he ate, All before he moved onto them.
He made them confess who killed her to which after a little persuasion they admitted easily.
They got the worst of it, He didn't even eat him after the torture. Just left him pinned to a tree bleeding out. He had put him up high only giving him the options of freezing to death, bleeding out or dying from the fall.
The memories rewound in his head like a film. Flashing memories of when she was born and he got to cradle her in his arms. All the way up until he only held her lifeless corpse, Killed too soon.
He had mourned for a long time after that, Never really getting over her death, Not even now as he set down the new flowers on her grave built near the house they grew up in.
He couldn't bring himself to consume her body, He could never. It was too much.
He got up and dusted himself off, Just like she use to do.
He turned away and walked into the night, Melding into the shadows as he went off to find his next meal.
☆♡☆
The morning rays shun down on the Ubuyashiki Estate. Flowers in full bloom with wisteria ripe in the air.
Birds chirped and grasshoppers hummed in the bushes. The neatly trimmed and well kept garden a fit home for them
The Hashira had gathered and stood in front of the porch awaiting the arrival of their master. They talked amongst themselves in the meantime.
Mitsuri, The Love Hashira tugged on the hand of another. A soft smile gracing her face.
"Fujimori-san! You should really come out with me sometime, It's been ages since we've done something together!" Mitsuri teased lightly.
Fujimori laughed lightly from behind the kitsune mask with cerulean markings he (he?) wore. The medival english looking sword positioned in front of him pointing downward, His two hands gripping the katana-like hilt.
He was tall and muscular but had more of an athletic build. He had tattoo's from his neck to his lower arms describing pictures typically seen in shrine art.
His blue dragon-patterned haori that was draped around his lower arms lightly wove in the wind along with his [H/C] locks tied into a ponytail.
"What do you mean? We went on a mission together last week!" He chuckled.
Mitsuri huffed and lightly gripped his hand
"When I mean spend time together I mean like we should go to a hot spring or go out to eat together or-" Mitsuri continued rambling on as she listed off possible activities they could do together.
Fujimori, [F/N] listened intently onto her as she talked.
She (She? She.) however was only thinking of his visions: A sick woman, A woman with fox markings and a man in a purple hakama.
She'd need to figure it out later.

Incredible finale. I honestly haven’t this locked in to a show like in terms of binging in a very long time, took me back to early Covid days. Without a doubt the best piece of terminator media we’ve had since T2, it’s well clear of salvation.
The first few episodes really had me thinking it was just T2 and T1 mashed together, but the Japanese version. Malcolm looks just like the dude that Arnold and Sarah are trying to protect in T2, resistance fighter from the future etc etc. But I like how we ended up focusing on the philosophical aspect of man and machine, rather than the usual save the world stuff, we get asked if the world is even worth saving.
Ngl when Kokoro was asking Malcolm all that stuff about what humanity has actually given the world instead of just taken from it, I couldn’t come up with an answer either. Some really interesting ideological questions were posed for sure.
So many twists in this last episode I had my jaw on the floor. Malcolm coming from the future was a wtf, Misaki I had a feeling was a robot anyway from the first episode, so that wasn’t too much of a shock but what was shocking was her relationship with Malcolm in the OG timeline and how she was the basis for Kokoro. She was best girl tho and I’d absolutely take out my own unit to protect her.
Eiko being Malcolm’s mother tho wtf?? Kenta brokering a peace deal between skynet and sending the terminator back was probably the biggest shock for me. But it does line up with his character throughout the show who was always skeptical of Misaki and the machines.. just a lot of WTF twists and multiple timelines, I really hope they do more with terminator in this universe because there’s a lot of cool possibilities. We also don’t know what Kokoro will get up to now!
Hate that Malcolm had to go out like that, but i guess it was necessary to give Kokoro the right answer in the end.. just really enjoyed this one, well done production IG.

Honorable Mentions (MGS)?
Himena Aika's magical girl story was very good and written well for her perspective but I did not enjoy experiencing it
Yachiyo Nanami's is bafflingly incorrect with later story stuff but it's so bad and questionable in parts that it actually becomes kind of entertaining
I really liked the first 2/3 of Sasara Minagi's mgs but the conclusion fell flat for me and kind of ruined it
Fairytale Mifuyu had a really good mgs but i can't be caught on record saying that
I stared at Haregi Homura's magical girl story thumbnail for like 2 minutes, wondering if I had watched it then remembering that I did. Not a fan but not bad enough to put on the least favorite list. Just painfully mediocre.
I've never been able to sit through and watch all of Cool Homura's mgs because attention span bad and bored. sorry homu. your swimsuit mgs is still the best though!
I haven't watched enough Costume Stories to put them on here, but I liked Temari's winter costume and I liked Sana's pajama costume.

Ngl it's been so long since i last went through Sdra2 properly i had never stopped to think of Emma's character that way? How acting is her life and pretending she's okay is the one way she knows to go about living, itches my brain now, pls ramble more about her I'd listen
Me when I get to talk about my favorite character
Thank you so much for the ask!!
Tw for mentions of physical abuse
To start off, I think it’s actually best to look at her free time events.
Of course, the final of these gives the most insight to her character. However, there are other key traits that show up beforehand.
The first is how Emma doesn’t really have any friends outside of this killing game. She only worked with other adults on sets, and that most likely isolated her from people around her age. In the first free time event, she talks about how she has never talked like this before with another teenager. She’s very used to acting more mature around people, so Sora’s attitude is refreshing for her. At the start of the final free time event, she goes on about how she’s always wanted to do “girl talk”.
Secondly, it shows Emma’s strange ideas about what a friendship should look like. Unlike other characters, Emma politely asks if she’s allowed to talk to Sora. She apologizes for being a bother, which will come up in later sections. In her second and third events, Emma accidentally spoils what happens in movies she has starred in. While it is played off comedically, Emma decides to compensate for this by giving Sora copious amounts of money.
Despite being completely harmless, it gives the impression that she thinks she needs to pay Sora to be friends with her. Since Sora doesn’t know who Emma is outside of the killing game, the only other thing that previous “friends” might have used her for is money.
I think this also highlights how Emma is a people pleaser. She is so quick to take Sora’s joking request for one MILLION yen seriously, and even asks if that is enough.
In the fourth free time event, Emma goes into detail about her adoptive parents. However, she refuses to elaborate on anything that occurred before then.
Finally, the fifth event. This is when Emma completely breaks down, showing Sora her scars; literal and metaphorical.
Emma’s mother was never around, always smoking and drinking her woes away.
And her father? Her father was a greedy, angry drunk with no self control of himself. Since he couldn’t make a steady income, he forced Emma, a very young girl, to sell things on the street.
If she didn’t do it? He burned a cigarette into her arm.
She states that every day she tried to resist, but it only made the burns worse. So in the end, she just did what she was told.
“Because if you don’t listen, the cigarette light is burned.”
“If you cry, the cigarette light is burned.”
“Desperately holding back tears, acting as the daughter who is well behaved.”
“I’ve been living under a mask.”
These are all some quotes from the final free time event, and I think it perfectly explains why Emma acts the way she does.
Her acting isn’t just a skill, it’s a defense mechanism.
She became so good at pretending she was this perfect, kind hearted girl that it started to blend with her reality. She still is afraid of people hurting her, so she pushes all of her real feelings down. It’s why she’s so scared of opening up to Sora, claiming that she would hate her if she knew.
Emma doesn’t do it just to be nice: she does it to survive.
In a situation like a killing game, it’s no wonder she was being so “two faced”.
Because acting keeps her alive…
It keeps her from coming off as vulnerable, and more importantly; people will like her.
This is the reason why Mikado chose Emma to look after Kokoro. Emma is so good at being friendly, maybe she could lower Kokoro’s guard.
But, that’s not what happened. In fact, the opposite did.
I genuinely believe that somewhere deep inside, Emma did care for Kokoro. She was starting to get used to seeing her; eating breakfast together, the one way conversations which soon piqued mutual interest….
Setsuka calls Emma out at the end of the second trial about this, countering when Emma said that Kokoro got on her nerves.
The most tragic part of her character to me is how she gaslights herself.
She lies to herself about hating Kokoro so she can complete the murder.
She lies to herself about not caring for the other participants.
She lies to herself about being prepared to die.
And it's only in her last moments that the mask finally cracks, revealing someone who is deeply hurt and scared.
----------------------------------------------------------
That’s all I have to say for now, but I might make a part two!! Once again, thank you so much for the ask!! (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ

Hello hope your having a good day idk if your still active on this given that no one is 💀 but can you write a Sdra2 x reader scenario were the girls suspect their S/O of cheating only to realize that that was their cousin the whole time
Thank you for request! It means a lot to get this kind of stuff. I only write for 6 characters at a time btw. You can rerequest if you wanted Setsuka or Kokoro. Anywho, this was a fun request and like last time it was almost no spoilers. Actually that’s a lie, I can’t write without spoilers whatsoever. And yeah I’m still active. I need to rewatch a play through of DRA though.
That was or maybe not be the reason I’m trying to hold off on DRA request because I’ll definitely fuck them up.
WARNING: Kanade, IMPLIED SPOILERS, SUSPECTED CHEATING, idk y’all

Emma Magorobi
🎬 Emma would probably be tagged many many times in some popular paparazzi page. And that post was a picture of a person who looked just like you holding hands with some other person.
🎬 She’d probably feel heartbroken and would definitely be extremely upset about it. But then she’d see that the person who looked like you didn’t look all that like you. Sure, you looked similar but not exactly the same.
🎬 But unfortunately her anxieties got the best of her and just assumed it was a weird lighting. And Emma probably wouldn’t confront you in person instead opting for doing it via text.
🎬 When Emma finds out the truth, she’ll expect you to also have some proof to back it up. But when she finally is convinced of it not being you, she’d apologize immediately.
Yoruko Kabuya
🍷Yoruko would see a girl who looked shockingly like you from across the bar. And you were with someone else. Yoruko didn’t think much of it at first, just a little mad you didn’t say hello. Or that was until you had kissed this person.
🍷 She tried to get over there to go yell at you and about how you had betrayed her trust. But unfortunately Minako had kept her behind the counter serving people as it was an extremely busy day.
🍷 Then the real you had come in and taken a seat on a bar stoll. And Yoruko immediately got confused because how could you be on two different places at once.
🍷 As she was serving you, she’d ask about what was going on and once you have explained. Yoruko be so thankful for Minako putting her behind the counter. That would’ve been an embarrassing first meeting with your family members.
Sora
❔ You were the only person who recognized Sora and you were the only person she recognized. Although not remembering much about what you did, she remembered that she loved you.
❔ For a motive, Mikado or well Monocrow handed out pictures. And in those pictures it was of a person who looked suspiciously like you and another person kissing, and many more the you look-alike and them going on a date.
❔ Sora is put off with this motive at first, questioning in her mind if it was actually you or not, but instead of confronting you on it, she slept on it.
❔ In the morning she went to go ask you about it, and she had come to the conclusion that you were the one in the picture and she was mad and questioned you over it.
❔ Sora was very embarrassed to find out that she got worked up over her S/O’s cousin making out with their boyfriend. She did apologize
Kanade Otonokoji
🎵 Another one to hear about this via social media. One thing she hated about your public relationship was that you lacked privacy when you went out in public. Kanade kind of knew once she saw the picture.
🎵 Kanade understood almost immediately that the person in that photo wasn’t you. But she wanted to play up her innocent girl persona with you. So she faked crying and showed up at your place.
🎵 She would intentionally try and make you feel bad for her. Kanade would start up an argument showing pictures that were on social media. But that argument did dissolve quickly.
🎵 Once formally told by you, Kanade would try and guilt trip you for not introducing her to your family beforehand. And she would only then cuddle you as a make up for the argument.
Iroha Nijiue
🎨 Iroha would see a picture taken by one of her older siblings of you and another person. They had multiple pictures of dates and kisses as if her sibling had been stalking you. Which that made her upset.
🎨 She was straight up in denial as she assumed that they were doing this to get her much more focused on her masterpieces. Until Iroha was told by either Emma or Hajime that they had seen you going around with another person.
🎨 Iroha would feel so hurt by this, and would just lock herself in her room and cry for hours. She would draw her ocs getting trauma to cope with the feelings of hurt.
🎨 She would also probably make someone else go and confront you about it, record the situation and send it to her. And which in this case she made Emma do it. After knowing that it was just your cousin she would pretend like none of that ever happened whatsoever.
Hibiki Otonokoji
🎶 Hibiki would hear about this through Kanade, who would also show proof of a video of you and the other person kissing. Intentionally Hibiki would lash out at Kanade for ever assuming that would’ve been you before breaking down crying for her sister to comfort her.
🎶 She wouldn’t confront you for a while, she would just ghost and ignore you. Avoiding places that you could’ve seen one another in public. Hibiki just felt so betrayed, so many people had left her. Why you too?
🎶 Eventually you two would see each other somehow again, and Hibiki would start crying demanding for an explanation. It created a whole scene but you loved Hibiki so why did it matter?
🎶 Once you told Hibiki that it wasn’t you in those pictures and that it was your cousin, going as far as to FaceTime them to prove it. Hibiki’s blind trust in Kanade’s words would begin to dwindle.

Leoichi but make it Oblivious x Oblivious Part 3
(I just realized I’ve been projecting my ace-spectrum ass to another ship.)
Part 1
Part 2
Part 4
心の友 (Tomo no Kokoro) (Heart of a Friend)
Usagi first learns about ADHD from the turtle brothers and sister.
Usagi is delighted it’s another thing he shares with Leo. “It’s amazing how our ADHDs synchronized,” Usagi says to him. “It’s like we’re twi-”
Donnie slams his hands vehemently on the table. “I’m sorry but the twin title has already been taken,” he says with more force than he intended (not).
Usagi didn’t seem to mind. “Old friends?” he tries.
“Nah,” April says, even if she’s only teasing, “I think that would be MY title.”
Leo raised his hand for a high-three at him, “Shell yeah, soul sisters!”
Usagi brightened. While his English is not yet native level, he tried to match Leo’s words. “Soul” plus “sisters” closest in Japanese is tomo no kokoro, so in other English words....
He clasped Leo’s hand instead and smiled at him. “Soulmates,” he agreed.
Usagi is very much confused when everyone around him and Leo hoots as Leo chokes, jokingly shoving him while laughing with a darkened face.
Later, they all have to clear the air that the word soulmates in English mostly has romantic connotations, and when Usagi meant tomo no kokoro, the closest word in English is a platonic soulmate.
Of course, someone tattled to Gen, Kitsune, and Chizu, and they didn’t live it down for a few days instead. It’s just a few days because the incident gave them insight into why Usagi still isn’t dating Leo despite having an intimate friendship.
After the teasing at Leo’s side from his fam, Leo just put it at the back of his mind to try to focus their team on whatever needed them in New York because of his narrowly-avoided-apocalypse guilt.
Eyeliners and Fluttering Claws
Yuichi Usagi feels put out, but April has never been so amused by how he got excited over friendship rings and plans to buy one for Leo until she has to explain they’re for pre-engagement with a romantic partner.
Luckily, Kitsune and Chizu find a makeup stand and make Usagi one of their “blank paper.” Usagi asks if they can use red for his eyes. The girls teach him how to use an eyeliner.
Usagi wears them for a couple of days in Neo Edo, like getting used to a pair of shoes before he finally feels confident wearing it in New York.
He’s a tad nervous when he enters the lair. But Leo takes one look at him and fucking squeals at the sight of him.
Like scoops him up and twirls him around as he takes a good look at his red-lined eyes. “We match! Well, kinda.”
Usagi grins, “I was inspired.”
“Looks great on you,” Leo said, running his fingers through the fur on Usagi’s cheeks.
Leo pauses, looking at his hands in confusion before shrugging.
Basketball and Bunny Circling
Leo and Usagi made a makeshift hoop on the flat area of the farm to teach the ex-ninja orphans how to play basketball.
Leo almost regrets introducing basketball to Usagi because he became a match his turtle brothers couldn’t compare to.
Usagi is fast and likes running circles around him (even in their sparring), so Leo responds by running around him as they both try to get the ball from each other.
Usagi’s aunt passes by the area to see them playing. She knows Usagi isn’t that much of a show-off, but there seems to be an unnecessary amount of running circles around his friend until she realizes he was circling.
She continued on her way, smiling. She has never seen him do that since he was a kid.
Sunbathing and “Purring”
Leo likes sunbathing, which he and his brothers can only do with a giant sunlamp in the lair. But on Usagi’s farm, he and his brothers could soak up the rays without alarming anyone (more or less).
Usagi tends to flop on top of Leo’s shell for a few minutes (it makes an excellent back stretcher, as recommended by April and agreed on by Kitsune).
Leo was taken aback by what he thought was purring until he realized Usagi was grinding his teeth.
Usagi has to reassure Leo that he wasn’t teeth grinding out of stress and didn’t harm his teeth. Rabbits just have that habit.
Title: Two Voices, One Song
Donatello has to wake up to a song playing ON LOOP for the whole lair to hear while Leo belts out along with it.
He’s clawing for coffee when Raph appears.
“Leo! Turn that down!” And “Isn’t that from the Barbie movie?” Raph asks.
“Yep!” Mikey answered, jiving to the beat.
“Ah yes,” Donnie said loudly with an eye roll after straightening up brew. “That song. From the Barbie movie. From one of the most heavily queer-themed movies of the Barbie franchise.”
The lyrics,“…Somehow when you're around / The sky is always blue”, play, and they all get on the same page.
“Aaaw, love is in the air,” Mikey gushes.
“Wrong,” Donnie says, putting on a gas mask. “It’s neurotoxin,” he promises.
Okay, he’s joking. He’s just going to gas the lair with nitrous oxide to knock Leo out, but the others still feel the need to stop him.
Days later, they heard Usagi humming it.
“Sorry,” Usagi says when he sees them staring at him. “Leo introduced it to me, and it became our song.”
Cool, cool. As far as Donnie is concerned, best friends have their own songs sometimes. As much as he likes to be knowledgeable about everything, there are some things he’d rather be ignorant of. Like Leo and Usagi’s… whole situation.
What does the fam think
Raph is torn between “Please only date when I’m dead” and “Where did I go wrong?” with his brother not even noticing what he and the rabbit have.
Mikey is more chill and has Dr. Feelings ready if Leo ever looks conflicted and needs someone to talk to.
Splinter almost has a heart attack when Usagi asks, “I would like to ask for your permission to ask Leo... to go on a training pilgrimage with me.” (Draxum has to listen to him rant that his sons turned his hair white but that Yuichi boy will make him bald.)
April and Casey Jr. are content to wait in the “let them figure it out” league (April is waiting with a bat, just in case).
Disagreements
Disagreements with Leo often end up with someone exploding or confrontations because Leo tends to use avoidance tactics and show that he isn’t mad, as it wouldn’t match his cool persona.
But that doesn’t work with Usagi if he senses something wrong. Because whenever Leo tells him, “It’s cool, so drop it,” Usagi doesn’t drop since he’s not much of a listener, so they can work together to fix it.
Let them be Ace
“You know, I think I’m ace,” Usagi confides.
“Ace?” Leo asks.
Usagi nods. “I thought I liked both, but it turns out I don’t really care either way.”
“Oh.”
The next day, Leo speaks out of the blue. “I think I’m ace too.”
“Yeah?“ Usagi asks.
“Yeah, I read about it. I’m still gay. But I’m just more of a cuddler than the other, y’know?”
Usagi brightens. “I know! Sometimes, I have the urge to nuzzle my face on yours!”
“You too? Me too!” Leo exclaims.
Leo wakes up one night. “Waitaminute…”
Daydreaming at Night
On the same night, Usagi’s thoughts were running.
Usagi has the tendency to space out with his comic book fantasies inspired by his Usagi Yojimbo comics. It’s his favorite thing to do while waiting to fall asleep.
It’s normal to fantasize about meeting your best friend as if by fate and having to fight together like you’re both reading each other’s minds, growing closer along the plot, declaring to each other that you’ll always have each other’s back, and overcoming the bitter rivalry of their ninja and samurai clans with the power of your friendship, right?
But after his ace talk with Leo, it’s like his mind was finally allowed to explore a little bit further...
Which has Usagi sitting up all flustered because-
And suddenly, the realization hits, and the pieces fit.
The sun rises, and Usagi still hasn’t slept at all.
(I’m really trying to exorcise all these ideas into a post since they won’t leave me alone, but it seems like there’s gonna be a part 4 for the conclusion.)

Sakura Nakamura (my s/i) lore 🎉🎉🎉
Early life / Elementary School:
- Parents are Actors / Models, very busy life and both are emotionally absent. Aunt stepped in as a role model
- As she continued elementary school, she ended up being a child actor for commercials and a model too
- Many people thought she was cool at first, but when they realized she was really into magical girl shows they thought she was weird. Not many friends because of this, yet still shares about it.
- Very cheery child!!! Is very sweet as well! Also regarded as a very cute kid!
- During a photoshoot, she met a girl who was helping out with the outfits. As she learned more about her, she realized that she wants to be a seamstress when she gets older. She thought this was cool and they become friends! (Met Kokoto Hiramatsu)
- Another photoshoot, she met a girl who was being broody in a corner. As she talked with her more, she figured out she was upset because her dad left her family for someone else. Sakura comforted her a lot, and they quickly became friends. (Met Ayaka Mochizuki)
Middle school:
- Her parents got her a manager (Referred to as Manager R)
- Manager R began to get extremely concerned with the quality of her work, so she made her re-do assignments until they were “perfect” (Perfectionistic habits mold from this, also makes her think the only way she’ll be loved if she is perfect)
- Got a major role on a TV Show, played an important side character. Many people shipped her character with another character in the show. This lead for both of their managers to meet and agree for them to fake date for popularity and profit.
- The other actor didn’t like being in a relationship at all. Began to secretly insult her behind the cameras and manipulated her. Made her purposefully stop eating as much and made her insecure about her body. She begun to hate herself for what she was, and fell into a dark period of her life.
- Ayaka and Kokoro tried their best to make her feel better. They then decided together that they should just leave the country entirely for the benefit of all of them. Ayaka’s mom lives in Japan and Kokoro’s parents didn’t care about her so they could easily move there, it’s only Sakura’s manager that they have to remove.
- For about 5 months, the trio tries their best to remove Sakura’s manager from her life. The breaking straw is when she protested during a photoshoot snd left immediately. Manager R immediately cut off contact with her and she was free.
- Moved to Japan during her 8th grade year under the supervision of Ayaka’s mom. She temporarily enrolled in a school and was slowly reviving her old personality.
- During finals season, Sakura decided that they should all become idols at Yumenosaki. Ayaka and Kokoro also agree to this plan. With Kokoro’s connections with the Tenshouin family, they finally get a chance to enroll at Yumenosaki academy.
Summer before 1st year:
- Went to a festival with Ayaka and Kokoro. They ended up getting lost and Sakura decided to wander around. Accidentally stumbled upon Shinobu (he was lost too) and they began talking. They realize that even though they dont have much in common, they were very similar. They became friends for the day and they help each other get prizes and stuff. (Key moment is when Sakura guessed how many marbles were in a jar and won a plushie of a frog and a fox. She ended up giving the frog plushie to Shinobu.)
- Didn’t get each other contact info, ended up loosing contact sadly. Sakura still remembers him as “The boy with pretty hair.” Keeps the plushie she won dear to her heart.
Basically it for main lore before yumenosaki 🎉 another post will be made about 1st - 3rd year lore in the future 🎊

Miss Meguca contest (casual outfits), comments
All preliminary rounds are now over! Since there was some variance in how many people voted each round, I'll have to calculate everyone's scores with percentages. So I think the final round won't start until tomorrow. In the meantime, here are the comments:
Round 1
Let’s Hope Madoka Wins this Thing Again. I want to See an Idol or Maybe a special Surprise Image song round or something.
Most of these outfits are so good. I only docked off points for some of them cause they weren’t as interesting. Also Ayaka’s outfit is perfect except for the color of her tights
Always glad to see my girl, Ashley!
Hoods are always a good taste, so…
I'm a sucker for suspenders!
Yuuna, Rena and Kokoro are the TOP of winter fashion!!!
There're quite a few outfits I WANT to like but they're just drawn so weird. Like. Why is Mitsune's sweatshirt Like That.
Also why is Mami dressed like she's in her 40s.
I really love all the varied silhouettes Magireco gives its characters in their casual clothes. Yuuna's is probably my least favourite because it's so boring. Ikumi's cat socks are extremely 2010s fashion and I love them.
Ashley has the best one here! It's practically something I would wear!
Rena's was so cute… until the short shorts. Girl!!! Your thighs are going to freeze!!! At least with skirts it's easy to wear skin colored thermal tights!
Ikumi: I'm going to wear e-girl cat socks with the most boring fit possible.
Round 2
Ren's outfit is so adorable!
Bring On Da Next Round! I Need Madoka to Win!
Yuma stands out not being super detailed, but I like it.
Scene 0 Madoka's outfit isn't bad but I don't think the silhouette and blue jacket necessarily suit her. Also adult Hikaru's outfit looks like something I'd wear in IRL help
Yuna: I don't understand the transparent fabric on her, but aside from that, is a pretty fashionable outfit
Akari: The bunny purse? The bow with the scarf? The puffy shorts? *chef's kiss
Moka: teh top part is a 10, but the bottom is a 3
I would once again kill for Mami's, but Ria's on the block too
Felicia ily but THAT clothes???????
Round 3
It's designs like these that get my hopes up about character design and fashion.
Alina wins out because of the paint on her clothes!
No Madoka Here but I’m Alright with That Besides Madoka Is Gonna Be the Winner Again!
I love Alina's painting clothes 💚💛❤️
So many cute designs in this round💖
ADORE alinas outfit, its so unique among the rest of the super feminine and cutesy casual outfits!
What is up with that bow on Tomoko’s outfit? It feels like everything was just slapped together when it comes to how she’s dressed.
Round 4
sorry, kyouko. i cant stand orange+green color combos.
Finally a good outfit for Kyoko!
Why does it feel that they put more effort into making the winter ones and just slap some ramdom shirts and skirts for casual?
They really did Kyouko dirty in this game.
Looking Good I know Madoka is the Winner nothing ordinary or new!
Thought Homura had a mustache necklace for a sec
I was gonna give glasses Homura a -1, but she's getting a 2 for the mustache necklace actually. I don't like it but it's such a bold choice and I love that for her lmao
I dislike Kirika but her clothes are in my fav choices ;;
I find my choices a little funny in hindsight because Kokoro's outfit is a hiking outfit and it looks nice but it also feels very generic, but I also feel like Leila's outfit looks like she's about to go camping or something. Also I am OBSESSED with Homura's mustache necklace.
Round 5
I'd like to make a disclaimer that I'm not rating Ranka's outfit 1 because I hate it, I just don't think it makes a good winter outfit necessarily. But does this also mean she's into larme kei and shops at places like MA*RS and Ank Rouge? Also: 1) Yachiyo's cold shoulder sweater dress amuses me for some reason. Girl your shoulders! 2) Green is a very interesting colour choice for Temari.
Hotaru, my beloved!! Sleepy queen!!
This is getting Good Final around Ahead and Madoka must Win!
I want Konomi's one so baaaad!!!!
Homura with glasses has the best outfits ;_; I have seen a lot of hers in the polls and always I love how she mixes cutesy with black clothes
Some of these are awful
Round 6
Lots of threes this time for interesting silhouettes or designs that make me go "yeah, that's [character]"! Also Mifuyu's outfit is just one of my faves in general
These are not as awful as the other but somehow most of them has something that ruins the look for me.
The thing is, a magical girl costume is always so extravagant and beautiful, that when we go back to their casual clothes, we expect nothing less. Bu then it comes some disappointment, because they look so plain and simple.
Last One I Need Madoka To Win!!
hard to be picky abt it ;-; they're all so pretty tbh
ui looks adorable!! i love her little outfit! you can certainly tell she's a kid. i find her outfit works really well over all. a lot of others i felt like there'd be one or 2 elements just don't fit with the rest but ui's just matches perfectly in my eyes
This is so difficult because imo the game has really really good designs for the casual outfits
Round 7
Kyoko looks really good in purple
After seeing Yachiyo's dress everything seems pretty.
Disclaimer I like Kyouko's outfit but I don't think it suits /her/ personally. I don't really like the mauve on Oriko? I feel like she should be wearing white or a very pale lilac at least. Tsubaki's is okay I guess and there's something about Tsukuyo's I don't entirely vibe with for some reason
I came to the conclusion that Homura is the Fashion Queen…
And poor Kyouko has so much to learn…
Let’s Hope Madoka wins this whole Thing!
Kyoko's outfit is great, but not a good fit for Kyoko.
Nagisa gets a 3. The OG deserves it. Too good for this world. Too pure. Deserves all the cheese.
Again, Homura has the best outfits

OKAY can I ask for the Sdra2 girl cast dating a Fem! S/o who has a twin? But the twin is like Kanade like the whole 3rd trial all over again but switch the twins with said S/o and their twin? Like S/o is like in a puppet state while their twin is bonkers 😵💫
Ooooo evil I like it. Also imma include the girls that died before trial 3 & exclude Hibiki/Kanade
........
Emma
Least to say...she's horrified by what your twin sibling has done to you, her girlfriend.
She's convinced this kind of stuff only happens in horror movies, but as they describe exactly how they turned you into their "puppet" over the years, she realized this is reality. Your reality that she never knew about.
Just to drive the point home that you only needed them in your life, your twin orders you to say "I hate you, Emma! [Sibling Name] is the only one I love!"
And you obey them, your voice full of vigor and emotion, before your expression becomes empty and devoid of life once again.
It brings Emma to tears because she knows that's not you actually saying that.
Your twin made you put on an act for their own twisted amusement.
After you get executed alongside them, she's gonna be livid, shouting at Monocrow/Mikado for letting this happen and sobbing that it's not fair to punish you since you weren't even aware that you killed somebody.
Kokoro
Thanks to her talent, she probably already knows about your twin's true nature before it's revealed to everyone.
She'll pull you off to the side, and warn you the best she can not to hang out with them anymore.
But since you don't remember anything they've done (or the fact they can puppet you around), you try to reassure her they're perfectly sane.
"That's what they want you to believe. But they've hurt you in the past, broken you beyond repair. And now they can flip your autonomy like a lightswitch if they wish."
Whether you believe her or not won't matter in the end...as your twin manipulated you into carrying out a murder plot alongside them without you remembering a thing.
To their shock, Kokoro was able to coax you out of your puppet-like state just in time for the "grand finale".
Your last moments of despair did manage to rattle her a bit, but she took comfort in that you died knowing the truth.
Sora
She never suspected anything was wrong.
If anything, she was quite impressed by how much your twin was able to contribute to the trial, with you joking that they've taken all the "smarts" when you were both born.
But when your sibling reveals their true nature and shows how they can easily put you in a puppet-like state...Sora's beyond horrified.
Especially when they claim they intended to kill her for being so close to you, though they changed their mind after somebody else walked in on them planning a murder.
She hates how the vote was correct--especially for both twins. And not because you were both in Void. That wasn't the case this time.
It feel so unfair. Why should you die for a murder you didn't agree to commit?
Could she have seen this coming if her memories came back? Maybe you told her something was off with your twin in the past...if only she could remember...
Regardless, she hopes you're in a better place and they're stuck in the deepest part of hell.
Iroha
Like Sora, she's very impressed by how smart your twin is, even complimenting them for helping everybody survive!
She thinks you're smart, too, though, and will always say you're the "better" twin.
But then their true vile nature is unveiled post-trial and it takes a minute or so for Iroha to finally understand why and how you're an accomplice in the murder.
"But...th-that's not right!! If [y/n] was being hypnotized then...how can she be guilty?? She didn't want to do it!!"
When Monocrow insists it's time for the execution, she breaks down, unable to stand it anymore as she cries, begging him not to kill you.
But while you're terrified of being executed for something you didn't remember doing, you comfort the painter before being taken away.
Iroha's dead silent as Mikado remarks how your twin could've been an excellent Void member if they had lived longer, unable to say anything positive in such a solemn situation.
Setsuka
When you and your twin become prime suspects in the third murder, she tries her best to stay calm and rational.
But as you continue to claim that you don't remember hurting anybody, her patience begins to wear thin and she asks your twin what was going on with you.
Though after a slip of the tongue, they get accused of the crime alongside you.
Sora lays out everything that happened, and only when you and them are voted guilty--that's when your twin reveals how you were able to go along with their murder plot: by conditioning you to become a puppet who sings and dances to whatever tune they play.
Despite you being used as an unwilling accomplice, you're also executed, and that ultimately crushes Setsuka's spirits.
She's been trying so hard to cheer everybody up and to figure out Void's plans.....that she must've neglected the warnings signs from you.
Even though you reassure her it's not her fault prior to your death, she feels guilty the rest of the trip for failing to help you.
Yoruko
The second your name is brought up, she's on the defensive--claiming you'd never do something as stupid as murder.
Though the fact that you're insisting that you don't remember a single detail has her confused.
Did your twin disguise as you and try to frame you for it?
Her head hurts trying to wrap her brain around this entire trial.
She starts increasingly getting frustrated with Sora and Syobai until your twin slips up and says something that condemns both them and you.
After the verdict shows you two are guilty, they finally reveal their true nature and demonstrate how easily you can be "hypnotized" by them.
It's here Yoruko realizes neither of you are members of Void.
Your twin is just a sick and evil monster who deserved to go to hell.
She's in tears the entire time she watches your execution, thinking you were going to escape when you grabbed the key---
Only to be devastated as you're killed anyways, albeit in less pain than your twin sibling, who dies laughing.

Wednesday
Info-Chan was being suspiciously generous today. Out of nowhere, Info comes up with an “idea” to get Osana expelled for having things in her bag that she shouldn’t. Cigarettes, answer sheets, so on and so forth. And since Ayano apparently did Info-Chan such a “big” favor with Mai’s phone, it was enough to get her a freebee from Info-Chan. In this case, that was cigarettes.
As she walks into the class, she notices that a couple of students are still hanging around in there. Two of them were from outside of her class anyway. One of them was Kokoro Momoiro, who was meant to be in class 1-2, and Bea Gemron, another transfer student who was meant to be in class 2-2. They seemed to be hanging out with Hana Daidayama at the moment.
Outside of them, there was Enpitsu Byoga, who actually belonged to the class, although it was strange that he was here instead of outside of his clubroom. When Ayano approached him, he looked up suddenly, but looked back down, just as suddenly disinterested. “Hello, Ayano.”
“Enpitsu. What are you doing in class?” Ayano asks, tilting her head to the side.
Enpitsu shrugs. “I’ve been in several rooms. Geiju told me that if I’m so focused on beauty, then I should draw all the girls in school and figure out which ones would work as the best muse.” He rolls his eyes. “Which is a complete waste of time- we all already know who the most beautiful girl in school is.”
The artist was always pretty narcissistic. If anything, his obsession with beautiful girls probably stems from him wanting someone who “measures up to his beauty”, or something of the sort. So far, the only person he’s bothered with trying to get as his muse was Meka Nikaru, who ironically has rejected his attempts.
“Simp says what?” Bea calls to Enpitsu, who turns to her with a raised eyebrow.
“What?” He asks, but scoffs as soon as he realizes that he fell for that trick. “She’s just jealous. “
“Of you or Meka?” Ayano asks, only receiving a shrug in return.
Instead of answering Ayano’s question, Enpitsu taps his pen in his notebook. “Have you ever thought of letting your hair down and styling your hair differently, Ayano?”
Ayano furrows her eyebrows. “I am not going to style my hair like Meka’s.” She states in finality.
Enpitsu sighs, “I guess asking you to dye your hair wouldn’t work out very well, either.” He mumbles, sketching something on his notebook. “I do recommend changing your hairstyle, though. Some people might bother approaching you if you did. Maybe they’d even give you compliments.” He shrugs nonchalantly.
Ayano frowned but did contemplate that idea. As she did, Enpitsu received a text on his phone. His eyes widened briefly, and he paused in thought before slowly lowering his phone and giving Ayano a smile. “Yan-Chan, my favorite classmate!” He purrs, and Ayano herself cringes at his purely artificial smile.
“You know, we’ve been friends for a while..” He starts, but immediately stops when he sees Ayano’s unamused expression. “I need you to convince Meka to be my muse.”
“Why?” Ayano inquires, tilting her head to the side.
“Why do I need her to be my muse, or why should you?” Enpitsu asks, but waves her off and answers both anyway, “I need Meka because she’s the most beautiful girl in this school. My one goal is to capture beauty, and yet she runs from me.” He sighs.
Meka didn’t actually flee from Enpitsu, but Ayano was sure she would if it came to it. From what she’s heard, Meka just locks the doors to the club room until he goes away. “As for why you should..” Enpitsu scans the classroom, sweeping a hand beneath his chin in thought. He then shrugs, “A favor for a favor? I’ll tell my whole club that you’re just the sparkliest angel out there. Even though the majority of them won’t care. Myself included.”
“I’ll take the favor bit.” Ayano claims, folding her arms and shrugging. “How would I get her to do that if you couldn’t, though?”
Enpitsu hums in thought, but likely not much thought considering he continued drawing for at least 20 seconds before speaking back up. “Uh, maybe she needs a new perspective? Some artists work better while looking from a different angle at the same project. Maybe if she hears from another person that she would make a lovely muse, she’ll cave!”
“Meka isn’t an artist.” Ayano points out. In return she only gets an irritated sputter and dismissive hand-waving from Enpitsu.
“I’ll even pay you to get this done, Ayano.” Enpitsu claims, digging into his bag. “If I don’t get this task done Geiju says he’s going to make me draw something hideous instead. Plead her if you have to.” He says, standing up and putting a twenty dollar bill in Ayano’s hand.
“Right..” Ayano rolls her eyes, putting the money in her pocket. “I’ll see what I can do.”
Enpitsu twiddles his fingers with a satisfied look. “You’re the lovliest!” He cheers. “Still not the most beautiful, though..”
Ayano glares at him, tempted to throw him a middle finger, but just realizing that that would probably lessen the reward. She pulls out her phone as she walks down the hallway. Texting Info-Chan, she asks:
Yan-Chan: How would I go about befriending Meka Nikaru?
__
Uekiya hums lightly, pruning some plants in the greenhouse with a pair of scissors. “Hey, Uekiya.” A familiar voice calls out to her.
“Oh, Kyuji. Hello, dear!” Uekiya places the scissors down and takes a handful of the access leaves that she cut off. She brings them to a corner of the garden that serves as compost. “Have you reconsidered joining?” She asks, wiping her gloved hands together briefly.
Kyuji hums, rubbing the back of his neck. “I.. I want to, but..” He pauses briefly, deciding on how he should word it. “I’d.. like to join with… that girl I told you about? If I can convince her to join. I just.. I guess want to stay with her? But- that’s only after I manage to confess to her.” He says, trying his best to sound confident but immediately faltering at the thought of his crush.
Uekiya giggles. “Aw, that’s so sweet! You sound just like my father!” She claims, “He used to go on and on about how he would always try to stick to my mother’s side when they were in highschool. So cute!” She hums, putting a hand on her cheek sweetly.
Grabbing the scissors again, Uekiya slips the gloves off of her fingers and hands them to Kyuji. “I’ve given you plenty of tips so far, I want to see how well you cut some flowers!”
“I, uh.. Me..?” Kyuji asks, slowly putting the gloves on and taking the scissors. “I mean.. Which ones do I even cut?”
“Anything on that row.” Uekiya points to the left side of the greenhouse. “Pick whichever ones you think Osana would like. I’m sure it would mean a lot more for the both of you if you could proudly say that you cut them yourself!”
Kyuji blushes lightly at the thought. “..maybe.. Wait, how’d you know it was Osana?”
“‘Kyuji totally stopped hanging out with his friends to stalk Osana’! ‘Bros before hoes where??’” Uekiya laughs at the fact that she was even using such language. “I’m sorry.. Those gyaru girls really do have mouths on them. No one takes it seriously, of course, because of how dramatically it’s formatted online, but plenty have heard of it.”
“Ah.. God, that’s…” Kyuji sighs, “How much do you wanna bet that Osana or her friend already saw that?” He asks, nervously rubbing the back of his hand.
Uekiya hums, pulling her mouth into a stiff smile. “I… think it’s best not to worry about that right now, hehe..”
Kyuji exhales, attempting to rid of all of his dread at that realization, and instead focuses on what flower he would pick for Osana. Hopefully if she did hear about the rumours, it wouldn’t affect how she sees him.
__
Meka furrows her eyebrows, tilting her head to the side at Ayano’s explanation. “Did Enpitsu send you to convince me to be his muse?” She guesses immediately and correctly despite Ayano’s attempt to seem social and friendly. Maybe that didn’t appeal to Meka?
Sighing, Ayano deflates visibility. “How’d you know?” She asks, despite reaping no positive reaction from Meka she still continued her girly-ish persona.
“He’s sent his club mates and a couple of his few friends to convince me before.” Meka explains. “But none of them have bothered doing anything for me in return, so I always refused.” She shakes her head in disapproval. “God forbid I ask Enpitsu to do something himself.”
Ayano crosses her arms, allowing her friendly mask to drop just slightly. “That’s ironic. I’m doing this in exchange for a favor from him. I’m sure I’ll love hearing him complain afterwards.”
Meka nods, her face still straight. “Aye, as many can agree. I’m sure if Enpitsu could learn to look outside himself he’d be a much more pleasant company.” She clears her throat. “But that’s besides the point. I’ve a favor if I have to become Enpitsu’s muse.”
“Thought so.” Ayano hums, smiling lightly in an attempt to return to her “girly” persona.
“I’d like to use the storage room frequently since it’s really only ever used for…well, storage.” Meka crosses her arms, “If you could move some things out of the storage room and place them elsewhere in order to make room, I would be grateful. I know a lot of that stuff is pretty big, so at least pushing the majority from one side to the other would be very much appreciated.”
Ayano nods. “I’ve got it. I’ll get it done in no time, you just wait!” She says with a confident smile before heading downstairs to get started on the task immediately.
__
The storage room was generally pretty clean. Some shelves and spare chairs were in the way. Not to mention a large chest in the middle of the back of the room. Maybe it would be alright if Ayano just moved everything she could from the right side to the left. Everything on the right side seemed to be generally light anyway.
Ayano exhaled, stretching her arms, legs and back before starting off with the foldable chairs and tossing them on top of one of the vaulting boxes. There was what looked to be a spare dolly to the right as well. Assuming that Ayano would need it to move something else, she moved it outside of the storage room, which caught the attention of one of the Sport’s Club members. One of the slowest ones, who was still in the middle of his stretches.
“Yano-San?” Mantaro called, jogging over. He was clearly exhausted from whatever his clubmates were still in the middle of doing, but tried his best to slow down his breathing. “Uh..what’re you up to?” He asks, looking at her and then peeking to the storage room.
Ayano stands up, kicking the dolly away a bit. “I’m neatening up the storage room for Meka. She said she’d likely need the room, and chose this room due to it hardly ever being used.” She explained, putting a hand on her hip confidently.
“It’ll take a while alone, won’t it?” Mantaro asked, blushing a bit with a shy smile. “I mean.. Would you… like some help? It’s- totally fine if you don’t need it.” He assured her nervously. Ayano wondered if his nervous demeanor was normal when talking to acquaintances or if her attempt at a confident stance was working on him.
“I’d appreciate that, Mantaro.” Ayano said with a smile before holding a hand out to the shelves. “I plan on moving those over to the left side so that the right side is completely clear. I’ll need to move all the access maps and vault boxes off of it to make it easier, though. Do you think you could help me with all that?” She asks, placing her hands on her hips.
Mantaro nods with a big smile. “Totally! I mean- of course, you can count on me!” He says gladly, happy to be able to help at all, Ayano assumed. He rolls up his sleeves and Ayano kneels down to grab a couple of mats.
By the time the two were finished, it was 7:45. A bit of time left, but Ayano did need to hurry up if her goal was to get this whole process over with efficiently. “How’s this look, Yano?” Mantaro asks, his brow dripping with sweat.
The entire time, Mantaro rushed to do several things that Ayano was planning on doing, likely as a workout or maybe to make out that he wasn’t with his club at the moment. Or maybe just to be even more helpful. Whatever the reason, it worked out significantly for Ayano, as in the end the storage room was cleaned up and nearly cleaned out and she’d hardly broken a sweat.
“Perfect!” Ayano gives Mantaro a firm pat on the back. “Good job, Mantaro. You worked great there!” She assures him, making Mantaro blush and beam with pride.
“No problem! Call on me any time, okay?” Mantaro holds two thumbs up to her, “I’m gonna go finish up with my club, though. See ya!” He waves happily, jogging out of the gymnasium.
Now that that hassle was out of the way, she just needed to stop by the science club and then Enpitsu. Perhaps he could call Hana, Kokoro and Bea out of the classroom for a moment? That would give Ayano just enough time to put the cigarettes in Osana’s bag, Ayano decided.
__
“I see.” Meka hooks a hand beneath her chin as she admires the photo Ayano took of the storage room. “I’m impressed you could do all of that on your own. And in such a short amount of time.”
“Actually, I got a lot of help from Mantaro. One of the sport’s club members.” Ayano explained. She was sure that if she’d claimed all of the credit for the work that was done, Meka would assume that she was a very strong and efficient person. Which she wasn’t just yet. With enough gym classes, though, Ayano was sure that she could fix that quickly.
Meka nods. “I appreciate the help, Ayano. I’ll be sure to thank Mantaro as well later.” She says to Ayano, “Tell Enpitsu that I’ll be his… muse during cleaning time. I’ve things to do until then.”
“Got it. Thanks a bunch, Meka.” Ayano waves, heading downstairs and towards her own class.
Once she arrived at the classroom, she saw that all four of the people that were there earlier were still inside. Enpitsu’s expression lights up as he spots Ayano, and he raises to his feet. “So? What’d she say? Did she finally agree? What took you so long?”
Nodding, Ayano puts a hand on her hip. “That’s right.” She furrows her eyebrows at his last question. “I did a task for her in order to get her to agree. She says that you’d never bother getting your hands dirty.”
“Ha! She knows me so well.” Enpitsu chuckles and shakes his head, flipping some of his hair in his regular narcissistic fashion. “Anyway, did you need that favor now or can I–”
“--I need it now.” Ayano interrupts. Enpitsu rolls his eyes at this with a reluctant expression. “Distract them for a minute.” She nods to the trio of bullies.
Enpitsu looks back at the chatting girls before raising an eyebrow Ayano’s way. “For what?”
Ayano shakes her head. “I just need you to. Get them out of the room for a minute.” She demands, crossing her arms.
“Right, so you can put a whoopie coushin on Hana’s chair.” Enpitsu rolls his eyes again. Despite his sarcasm, he does end up getting up and swiftly walking out of the room.
After a moment, he peeks his head back in. “Hey, there’s, like.. A wad of cash on the floor in the cafeteria?”
“It’s mine!” Hana claims, darting out of the room. Kokoro gapes, likely not wanting Hana to snatch someone else’s money, but stays quiet and follows her.
“Watch it be, like, two bucks.” Bea chuckles, following the two. Now that the three of them were out, Ayano was able to swiftly slip the cigarettes into Osana’s bag.
Ayano sighs, not feeling as accomplished as she hoped she would, likely because the process was a lot longer than she thought it would be. Maybe she should try doing her peers’ tasks more often. Maybe that would prevent having nearly no one to ask for help?
As Ayano thinks over more ways to make her schemes more efficient, Hana’s whining comes to her attention. “This is what you call a wad of cash, Byoga?!” She hisses, throwing the two dollars back at him. Enpitsu only shrugs with a smile, walking back to his seat.
Bea quickly snatches the money up and snickers. “Hey, two dollars is two dollars. I can buy eight whole gumballs with this.” She claims, stuffing the two dollar bills into her skirt pocket.
“Whatever.” Hana rolls her eyes, sitting at her own seat as Kokoro and Bea sit on a desk near her to continue chatting.
Ayano leaves the room, heading towards the guidance counselor downstairs. Enpitsu watches as she leaves, wondering what exactly she did, but shrugs it off and continues sketching.
__
Genka’s eyes widen slightly at Ayano’s accusation. “And.. you know this how?” She asks, folding her arms with a serious expression.
“I saw her move them from her pocket into her bag this morning.” Ayano claimed, tapping her fingers onto her other hand in faux nervousness as she avoided Genka’s gaze.
“That’s a clear violation of the rules, not to mention completely illegal. This could call for serious punishment..” Genka sighs, neatening up a stack of papers on her desk. “Strange. She’s usually such a well-behaved young lady.” Shaking her head, Genka continues. “I’ll ask her about it later. Thank you for telling me this.” She says, nodding to Ayano.
Ayano respectfully bows her head to Genka before quietly leaving the room. Serious punishment, huh? Considering a minor smoking is illegal, she should face expulsion, right? It only makes sense, surely.
As Ayano hoped, Genka came to Ayano’s class and called for Osana. Around five minutes later, Osana came back looking ashamed, but not holding the expression of dread Ayano thought any suddenly expelled student would have. As Osana sits down and puts her bag back on the hook of her desk, her question is answered. She wasn’t expelled.
“What happened..?” Raibaru asked quietly, her voice low as to not get the teacher’s attention.
“Miss Kunahito found…cigarettes in my bag. I’m not sure how they got there..” Osana says with, frowning. Raibaru gave her a shocked look. “Not even my parents smoke. It doesn’t make any sense..!”
“Osana.” Mrs. Fukahori called, glaring at the pigtailed girl. “Miss Genka already had a talk with you. I expect no further interruptions.” She said, putting a hand on her hip.
“Right. Sorry, Mrs. Fukahori.” Osana bows her head quickly, getting a nod from Mrs. Fukahori, as she turned to continue writing on the board.
As Osana pays attention to her book once again, Raibaru whispers. “Glad to hear you aren’t in any serious trouble.” She smiles and nods, and Osana smiles back.
But why not?
Ayano’s phone vibrated quietly, and she took a look up at her teacher’s back before looking down to her phone.
Info-Chan: I don’t think just one event will get Osana expelled.
Info-Chan: If anything, you would probably have to frame her for the whole week.
Yan-Chan: Why didn’t you tell me this before I went through all of that effort?
Info-Chan: It’s one thing to hear about something and another thing to experience it :)
Yan-Chan: I’m running out of time. What the hell do I do?
Info-Chan: Let’s try again tomorrow. We can probably get something done then :D
Ayano: But we have the rest of the day.
She doesn’t recieve a reply from her oh-so-helpful informant, and she quietly stuffs her phone back into her pocket. What was Info-Chan planning? Did she have a plan? Or was she just stringing Ayano along until she inevitably failed?
Ayano puts her cheek in her hand as she leans her elbow onto her desk. What could Info-Chan gain from all of this playing around? Was this the form of entertainment that she really wanted? Just leading Ayano astray instead of allowing her to properly stop her rival?
“Aishi!” Mrs. Fukahori smacked a ruler against the board, making Ayano flinch. “What on Earth has got you all so distracted?” She sighed, pointing the ruler to a question she’s written on the board. “Can you answer this?” She asked.
“Sorry.” Ayano replies blankly, “Yes, I can.”
__
Tomorrow was a “new day”, Info-Chan would say. But what good is a new day if it’s your last? Or second to last?
What non-harmful plan could Ayano even try at this point? If this didn’t move fast enough, she would have to take drastic measures.

It was actually a bit difficult pinning down a song to use for valentines day, the show doesn't have a valentines song and isn't really a romance focused series. Yes a lot of characters have crushes on other characters, but you don't watch the relationships actually build and progress because they're primarily a vehicle for comedy, and occasionally a more gentle moment:
Momoka's extravagant plans that yield a very small return on a massive investment; Fuyuki's obliviousness to the several girls who have a crush on him; Giroro being a smitten mess towards Natsumi, who is an equally smitten mess towards Saburo; Tamama's possessiveness, and jealousy towards Mois' school girl crush on Keroro (who in retrospect, might have been aromantic the whole time...that would explain a lot, actually); Karara's...everything; the season 4 finale
The love polygons are there, but for the funny scenarios they create, and I ended up going back and forth between this and Kokoro no Mondai for today's post. But I ultimately went with "I'll buy juice for you": the line about how love is ultimately give and take, and it's difficult when one party demands too much fits well with a more sustainable relationship, while the slightly surreal music video fits well to how the series handles romance.
Really, the video is about a dog (depicted by a man in a dog costume) getting a crush on his human's classmate, and fantasizing about cheering her on at a basketball game, it's wild.
Happy Valentine's day, everyone (^.^)v

"The year is 2006, and the halls of Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School echo with the endless bickering and intense debate between two inseparable best friends. Exuding unshakeable confidence, Satoru Gojou and Suguru Getou believe there is no challenge too great for young and powerful Special Grade sorcerers such as themselves. They are tasked with safely delivering a sensible girl named Riko Amanai to the entity whose existence is the very essence of the jujutsu world. However, the mission plunges them into an exhausting swirl of moral conflict that threatens to destroy the already feeble amity between sorcerers and ordinary humans.
Twelve years later, students and sorcerers are the frontline defense against the rising number of high-level curses born from humans' negative emotions. As the entities grow in power, their self-awareness and ambition increase too. The curses unite for the common goal of eradicating humans and creating a world of only cursed energy users, led by a dangerous, ancient cursed spirit. To dispose of their greatest obstacle—the strongest sorcerer, Gojou—they orchestrate an attack at Shibuya Station on Halloween. Dividing into teams, the sorcerers enter the fight prepared to risk everything to protect the innocent and their own kind."

Long post incoming! I wanted to share my thoughts about the Hololive EN Connect the World concert I went to last night.
overall, the concert was fun and amazing and I had a really good time. it was great being surrounded by other fans. it's like being in a comfy swarm of strangers that are somehow also your friends. it's surreal.
I was sitting waaaaaay in the back, so while I got a clear view of the entire stage, the giant screen felt small. they weren't Hatsune Miku style holograms as I had thought. but I will say that this was the only negative thing I have to say.
it really felt like yet were actually looking at us and hearing us. the only awkward one was Kiara, who had quiet pauses at the end of her sentences 🥲 still love you, Kiwawa!
hopefully it was audible, but after Fauna's performances, dudes would yell "I love you, Fauna!" "I love you, Fauna!" and I tagged on at the end "I also love you, Fauna!!"
this happened 2 or 3 times lol 😂 I wanted Fauna to know that she has female fans, too!!!!!! 💚
fans are great. While waiting for a ride back to the hotel, I spotted a squad wearing Deadbeat shirts and I yelled, "Let's go, Deadbeats!" and they all cheered really loud!! My Calli nui high fived another one! it was a special moment lol
Calli was amazing as always. I'm glad she got to use her guitar scythe. wanted, wasted is such a hype song, I wished I knew the lyrics better to sing along! 🩷
I'm so glad Kiara sang SPARKS. I've recently started getting more into her music, but I've always admired her as a dancer. the song was so hype, I was bouncing out of my seat. just such a good song. 🧡
Ame had improved SO MUCH since her debut. absolutely amazing. ChikuTaku is an insanely fun song. I was singing along. Such a stark contrast to her purin song at 3rd fes. she was really moving and singing, she feels like an idol 💛
Gura did great as always. looking forward to the song when it officially comes out. Gura fans are always so hype, it was great 🩵
Ina did amazing on Ghost. she's another one who's singing has improved and become so much more confident since her debut. and the takodachis are nuts as always. but so much fun.
they were so hype, they jumped the gun on Ina's call and response lol. just way too much excitement!!!! 💜
I can't believe Kronii wasn't at 100% because of her jaw??? because she did freaking amazing. I love her singing voice. such a legend. her dancing was so good, too, I did not expect her to shake it so much on that stage. just amazing. 💙
Mumei took me by surprise. I knew she was a good singer, but she really delivered the emotion of the song. just wonderful. 🤎
Bae was incredible as the opening singer. she freaking delivered. dancing, singing, her performance was amazing. I loved that she encouraged everyone to sing along with the end of the song. what a way to start, just blowing it out of the park. ❤️
Fauna!!! my dear kirin...she was amazing. her singing and dancing have improved SO MUCH since she debuted, it blew me away. even since 4th fes she's just improving exponentially. She was so cute, it warmed my heart and soul. I ALSO LOVE YOU, FAUNA!!! 💚
finally, Irys was every bit the idol that you'd expect. Amazing performances, I really liked her song choices. You're not alone. 💗
The guest performances were also great, as expected from the jp senpai and ID girls are all so cracked. I was hoping they'd sing more with the EN girls and maybe get some shuffle units in there, but I'm also satisfied with what they all sang.
I was worried about what they'd do for Council's unit song, Rise, in regards to Sana's lines. but I'm very happy with how they handled it.
everyone singing Sana's final "for eternity" together felt very poignant. hit me right in the kokoro, as it always does.
the audience chanting for an encore was funny because we chanted for so long we got tired and started to lose hope...and then BANG. Encore song.
that little video of everyone's 3D journey almost got me. tears did well up. 🥹
Hololive EN forever! 🩷🧡💛🩵💜💙🤎❤️💚💗🪐

KNOCKOUTS: Yuri Espoir (2019 - ?)
Yuri Espoir (or Yuri de Naru♥Espoir) is an ongoing romcom by Mai Naoi about a teen girl escaping from her impending arranged marriage by fantasising about strangers being gay.
After finding out she is to be forced into an marriage of convenience as soon as she graduates high school, Kokoro sees her life ending before her eyes at her father's wishes. And so in her final year of high school, she decides to indulge in her love of other women, and create an incredible sketchbook of lesbian romance to leave behind as her legacy. As she observes the young women of her town, she learns more about their desires, their struggles, and the unpredictable whims of love. - MAL
ENG localised by Tokyopop, JP available at Book Walker.
CWs under the cut. General severity rating: significant.
suggestive scenes
arranged marriage <- between a teenager and a grown man. inciting incident. universally framed as negative. it and kokoro's intense discomfort surrounding it is frequently explored.
grooming/predatory adults <- arranged marriage above. ch3 states that the art teacher is known for making advances on students, but this ends up being a false rumour (heads up though that he's still very... Not Normal about one of his students being engaged to an adult). the same rumour is brought up in ch11. ch11.5, a background character talks about how he was dating a high school girl and is really gross about it. there's just generally a lot of talk of predatory behaviour throughout.
sexual violence <- part and parcel with the above. primarily just implied through a general fear of the impending marriage. ch2 nightmare sequence has implied sa. ch11, a character talks about being assaulted, but its later revealed that she was lying.
violence <- slapping every once in a while. ch6 has some mild bloody imagery as a metaphorical device.
heteronormativity & misogyny <- also part and parcel with the arranged marriage of it all. minor scenes involving side characters.
homophobia <- brief depiction in ch3.5.
vomiting <- scene in ch8. on a scale from 1 to 5 where 1 is a "blehhh" sound effect from another room, and 5 is that one scene in chainsaw man, i'd say this comes at like a 3, maybe 4. another scene in ch11.5 which is more of a 2?
disordered eating / purging? - ch13, character tries to throw up essentially as a coping mechanism for anxiety?
panic attack in ch13
ch15.5 in particular touches on very sensitive issues, and includes a warning at the start of the chapter for homophobia, depression, blood, death, and suicide. not massively gory but it is both bleak and relatively graphic. not counting this chapter to the warnings above since its self contained.

Sdra2 Girls dating a Ultimate Waitress Y/N who acts just like Tiana from Disney who a workaholic who saves up many money to open there dream restaurant and often have to cancel dates due to many jobs and soon they got the money to buy the place even if it run down and happily celebrate the purchase with there boyfriend during a costume event only for the Sellers of the place change there mind claiming Y/N was "outbid by someone" *reality it withheld from them* which crush Y/N dreams
Oh so like the masquerade scene! I gotchu
Emma Magorobi:
She never blamed you whenever you had to cancel dates
Her acting career is time consuming, so she understands how you feel
She genuinely admires your ambition, and will gladly help you when you need it
When you finally accomplished your dream of buying your own place, even if it was run down, she couldn't be happier for you
The two of you went to the masquerade ball together, wearing beautiful and expensive outfits that were probably a pun of something
The two of you danced, looking ridiculous but never feeling happier
As one of the best nights of your life neared, you and your girlfriend were approached by two men in one donkey constume
When they said you were outbid, Emma was pissed
She was an actress, she knew bullshit when she saw it
Her calming demeanor vanished and she yelled at the men for intentionally ruining your dream
As a famous actress, she could probably outbid this "outbidder", but she was smarter than that
She calmly posted the story on social media, and Nikei was at your door the next morning
The men had two options, admit to what they did and give you the place for free, or be financially ruined by the press and her fans
Kokoro Mitsume:
Kokoro rarely admits it, but she is really impressed by your perseverance in fulfilling your dream
Your ambition and determination are just other qualities of yours that make her experience emotions she hadn't felt before
She doesn't mind you cancelling dates that much, being quite busy herself
She'll give you advice on managing your time and health, but will rarely assist you in being a waitress
She doesn't smile much, but can't stop herself upon seeing you finally fulfill your dream
You're the one who suggests the masquerade, and she usually dislikes social gatherings, but she'll make an exception for the celebration
If you suggest costumes, she'll give you the blankest, silently pleading stare
You'll probably have to pick out a dress for her, but you don't mind!
Kokoro enjoys the dance more than she thought she would, feeling happy to spend her time with you, and happy to see you so happy
She briefly stumbles when dancing with you, but picks it up very quickly
It's another rare occasion where you see her smile
When the whole men approach you and say you were outbid, your girlfriend reminds quiet for a few moments, studying their body language and the real meaning behind their words
As you began to sob, she takes your hand, a rare gesture of affection from her, and looks the men in the eye before saying she knows exactly what they are trying to do
Kokoro is a genius, it wouldn't take long for one of the men to accidentally fess up to what they were doing, and upon the threat of a lawsuit, they begrudgingly let you keep the restaurant
Kokoro knows they will probably try something else, but she'll be prepared. For now, she just wanted to see you happy again.
Setsuka Chiebukuro:
She would be a bit disappointed but completely understanding whenever you had to cancel dates
She would also not let you overwork yourself, basically forcing you to rest while she would take your shift for you
When you told her that you had finally gotten your own restaurant, no matter how run down, she didn't hesitate in picking you up and spinning you around before bringing you in for a kiss
She couldn't be happier to go to the masquerade ball with you!
She probably insisted on the most ridiculous outfits just to embarrass you
Either way, the two of you happily danced, savoring the moment with each other
Suddenly, a donkey tapped you on the shoulder and two men emerged, claiming that you had been outbid by someone
Oh hell no
Setsuka pressed for more details, noticing how sketchy it seemed
The men kept dodging her questions, making her even more suspicious, but you came first
She brought you home, comforting and reassuring you
When she finally got you to bed, she decided to Dig a Little Deeper
She spent the night gathering evidence, and confronted the men the next day, using her robotic eye to record the whole interaction
Unless the guys wanted a lawsuit on their hands, then they were forced to give you the restaurant back
Setsuka never told you how it happened, just helping you celebrate your newfound happiness
Hibiki Otonokoji:
She would whine whenever you had to cancel a date, but would accept it as long as you insisted to make it up to her with cuddles
She would offer to give you some money from her job as a singer, but you always refused, even if she practically insisted at times
After all your hard work, you fulfilled your dream
She'll never admit how proud she is of you
The masquerade ball was probably her idea, and she made sure that the two of you were the best looking people there
As far as costumes went, she would insist that the two of you wore a couple themed vocaloid costume (and would also make fun of other people's costumes to you)
She was already making fun of the men in the donkey costume when they started to approach you
She thought that they were going to yell at her for making fun of them behind their backs, but it was much worse than that
When they told you that you were outbid, she would not stop yelling at them
This would either go two ways, Hibiki would give them more money to outbid the "outbidder" and would complain about it to Kanade, who would kill them for ripping off her sister
Or she would complain about it to the press, who would financially ruin the guys
Either way, they're not getting away with this
Kanade Otonokoji:
Kanade always made sure you didn't overwork yourself, and whenever you had to cancel a date, she'll just assist you in your job
Kanade loved you so much that she'll offer to pitch in some of her money as a guitarist, but you, being as independent as you were, always turned her money down
When you finally got your own restaurant, she was already preparing to be the first five star review (and be able to track locations of people who give one stars-)
You invited her to a masquerade ball to make up for all the dates that were turned to her working for you
She gladly accepted, and got the nicest dress she could find
She usually wanted to stand to the side and let her sister shine, but this night was about you and her
The two of you are lovestruck in each other's arms
Then two men in donkey costumes show up, saying you were outbid, and that sweet girl act is gone in an instant
She calls them asses (no pun intended-)
But yeah, there's no way that they're doing this to you
The place was already bought by you and the paperwork was done!
So, if those men just happened to drop dead, the place would be yours, right?
The next few days were hard, even with your girlfriend by your side, you still couldn't give up your dream, and it felt as though you were back at square one
Kanade comforted you every step of the way
It wasn't long before the men just happened to disappear, and the place was yours again!
Maybe you really have a guardian angel
Maybe you've got Friends on the Other Side-
Sora:
Sora admires how hardworking you are, and she'll never hesitate to help you
In fact, you're surprised at how good of a waitress she is!
You reject her money whenever she tries to pitch in, making her even more proud and happy for you when you finally buy your own restaurant
You invited her to the masquerade ball, which she'd lightly tease you about costumes
It's up to you whether you guys do costumes or not, she's happy either way, and it's your night of celebration after all
Sora is a surprising good dancer, and the two of you sway to music blaring in the background
(Why is this so familiar to her-)
When the two men approach you, she can't hide her anger
She also calls the men asses
She tells them how cruel they were for doing this to you after how hard you worked
You nearly fulfilled your dream, you bought your restaurant, you were creating your menu, you were Almost There!
Just for these men to ruin it
Sora doesn't have power over the press and she's not very wealthy either
She can use her own skills to expose the men for the bastards they are, but until then, she'll work just as hard as you do to help you accomplish your dream once again
No matter what, she's always by your side
Yoruko Kabuya:
You and Yoruko worked in the same area, her being a hostess and you being a waitress
The two of you were used to and enjoyed your jobs, except you were working for a dream
Yoruko would never admit that she's your number one supporter, only offering to cover your shift and let you rest every so often
When you finally save up enough for your own restaurant, Yoruko is ready to quit her job and work alongside you
But before she does, you ask her to the upcoming masquerade, much to her embarrassment
She's blushing enough as is, there's no way you'll be able to talk her into costumes
She's a tsundere most of the night, but the two of you are still enjoying yourselves
With her face becoming a darker shade of red, she takes your hand and asks you to dance with her
With an amused giggle, you accept and kiss her on the cheek, making her look away mumbling
The night continues to be amazing for the both of you, Yoruko finally getting enough courage to openly express affection towards you, in a place full of people no less
It's just a day of miracles
Yoruko pulls you back when you are approached by the two men in a donkey costume. At first she thinks they're going to try to hit on the two of you, but she wasn't prepared for what they said
She scoffs in anger at their excuse of you being outbid, not hesitating to call them out on their bullshit
It doesn't matter how much Yoruko yells and screams at them for ruining your night, there isn't anything she can do to stop them
In the end, she'll help you recover, taking a few days off work to spend with you
Even if you can't have your own restaurant, she'll still encourage you to pursue your dreams, convincing Ms. Tomori to offer you a job at her bar
Even after what those men put you through, she won't let you give up so easily
Iroha Nijue:
Iroha shares your determination and some of your perseverance to fulfill your dream
She'll be a bid sad when you cancel dates, but dedicates the time to writing her own manga
She'll remind you to get some sleep every once and a while, but she'll probably forget too
She isn't one to care a lot about money, but she is still happy for you when you announce that you have bought your own restaurant
The fact that it's so run down actually excites her, and you assure her that she could paint a design for the walls, much to her delight
She is probably the one to bring up with masquerade first, and the two of you go in cosplays of characters of a manga you both love
The two of you enjoy the night stuffing your faces with food and dancing, even mimicking your respective characters at times
It's one of her happiest memories with you and she finds herself laughing
You laugh along too, not realizing the two men approaching you
When they practically snatch your dream right out of your hands, Iroha's eyes widen.
Iroha is a coward. She knows that.
These men, they just... came and crushed your dreams like that!? After you finally achieved them after so many years of trying!?
Of trying...of trying...
It reminded her of her family all over again. No matter how hard she worked, it wasn't enough for them. She had to be blessed by the heavens just to be saved. She didn't want that for you
To be saved... could she save you?
Iroha finds herself yelling, screaming even, shocking both you and the men
She yells that they are monsters, and will hear from her own family
She isn't one to use her family's influence after what they put you through, but she has no choice
She finds herself raising her voice, demanding to give you what was rightfully yours
She doesn't even know that they are withholding it from you, but her immediate change of tone makes the men believe she knows
The men stammer out a response and she finds herself yelling more
It isn't until they reach a compromise, giving you a month to pay an extra amount that they leave the two of you alone, your dream intact
You don't hesitate to tell Iroha how brave she was for doing that for you, and Iroha was just as surprised, not knowing she had it in her
She finds herself smiling, feeling more confident than ever before
Maybe both of you could achieve your dreams after all
