A little clarification on how Neuvillette addresses Furina in her story quest—in English it's rendered as "Miss Furina," and shortly after "Lady Furina," implying he uses a different honorific each time.
However, in both these lines Neuvillette actually uses 女士/nǚshì, the same way he has always addressed Furina in the past, barring the instances where he only uses her name, which he only does in private and generally not to her face.
When Furina asks the NPCs in the quest to stop calling her "Lady Furina," they switch from 大人/dàrén to calling her 女士/nǚshì/Miss Furina. Previously Neuvillette was the only character who called her that. When he did, it was always rendered in English as "Lady Furina," the same as the other more reverent honorific.
So no actual change between them in this regard, just the translation team finding themselves in a bit of a bind over how to translate it going forward where the two are concerned!

i can’t seem to find a comprehensive list of dub languages online rn, these are the audio options i can select on my netflix account – not included in the poll but also available to me are hindi, indonesian, thai and a japanese audio description. idk tho if those are all that were produced or if there’s more options that are just not available in my region, lmk if there’s something else i missed here! also if you’ve listened to/watched multiple of these options do kindly tell which one(s) you like best!
#personally im a original language with sub truther. not just with anime but in general#rlly tho i hope this gets around bc. well the results could provide some important insights on a lot of discourse in the fandom. imo#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#i uh. for what it’s worth i really don’t like the english dub i think it sounds jarring and weird#german one is pretty hit or miss i’ve watched a few scenes from different episodes and some i liked and other. not so much#most of the VAs are good but don’t really fit their respective characters#french one is pretty good! also sounds like they put more budget/professional VAs into that one. which is no surprise#given how they are about anything comic or cartoon in france#i also listened into italian and spanish i think but. i forgor#other languages that i dont speak at all are harder to judge so haven’t checked those yet#with japanese i have atleast a very basic understanding of grammar and some common vocabulary and phrases

Turns out some of them weren't#which just makes the localization funnier#Like. Grain of salt because I don't speak Japanese and rely on machine translations and friends who speak the language#But the really sus “receiving end” line was originally just. “Haha it'd be nice to be the one getting escorted for once :)”#I'm sure it's not an entirely indulgent translation but. Phrasing!!!#then there's the infamous(?) “I seek to have a relationship with everyone here!” where in JP it's clearer that by “everyone”#Orion means “every woman” and not literally “everyone”#bc JP Elly says “In your case won't just any woman do?” while in EN she just calls him shameless LOL#there's a few more#like the scene where Orion says “You're the first man I've ever wanted to protect” and Euden says “damn bro I thought you weren't gay?”#and he responds calmly like “You really are slow when it comes to these matters! I'm just saying you're more charming than you know.”#it's a letdown but it's kinda coy#meanwhile since JP has some extra animations#namely Orion jumping in shock and making a cringing face before responding#the No Homo vibe is off the charts 😭😭😭#and then theres that xmas seasonal line that's about picking up women ...when voices are set to JP.#The EN line is about being broke. Ok, I already reblogged a post and said this but I know the zelink shippers would appreciate an own post about this, so here we go.
This is the German localization of Tears of the Kingdom. It's the last dragon tear, the moment just before Zelda's dragonification.
In English she says just before she gives up herself for (as far as she knows) forever,
"You must..."
In German, she says,
"Für dich..." which means "For you..."
A very, very different meaning and vibe, don't you agree? And the German voice actor, Julia Casper, manages to captivate such a bandwidth of emotions in two words that it still gives me chills. 👌🏻

Life is so unfair there are so many shitty shows out there with a dub and Banana Fish never got one and its been 6 years now
