Academia is so unserious. Why am I sitting here, at three in the morning, reading about how lightsabers are an analogy for dicks. Why does the author of that paper refer to them as "Clearly phallic, willpowered laser(s)", "An elegant weapon of a nobler day"? Why is the very first example he gives the battle between Vader and Ben Kenobi where Vader makes fun of his opponent because his weapon is shorter and doesn't stay on for long enough to finish the battle? Why is the paper one of my more important sources???
