Feel free to agree with my takes or not ^^ I guess when I saw them as kindred spirits and opposites attract, i meant more that Sonic and Elise are both more introverted and akward when it comes to love, while Amy is more extroverted and wears her feelings on her shoulder.

Sonic and Elise also tend to put the needs of others before themselves (hiding their own needs in the process) have pressure on their shoulders (Elise ruling a country, Sonic having to stop Eggman and saving the world multiple times) and have a love for freedom and adventure (Elise is able to discover this part of herself while she's with Sonic, she comes to enjoy the adventure they've been on, and even has a bit of a thrill seeking side towards the end. She points straight at the burning remains of the egg carrier and is like "yeah let's jump")

And when I say Sonic is able to be more vulnerable when he's with Elise, there's little things that I noticed. Not just him slowing down and taking his time (the scene right before mephiles kills Sonic comes to mind, their casually walking together and Sonic is smiling) Elise is patient with him and they're able to take their time with eachother, and she's also understanding of him. She knows he can't stay in Soleanna, and while she's sad, she's fine with it and doesn't pressure him about it.

Sonic isn't a character that is super touchy feely, and tends not to show alot of vulnerablility around others. Yet we see him holding her hand several times, the first time he hesitates a bit before taking her hand and running through the fields. And the ending where they laugh, it really feels like a genuine outburst of laughter. Usually when Sonic laughs, it's more of a chuckle. It's just the little things with their relationship and how Sonic acts around Elise that I really like.

I see your point! I don't think Sonic and Amy being introverted and extroverted respectively is enough to say that they're opposites, but I recognize that Sonic and Elise have more traits in common than I thought :)

I'm not sure if I think Sonic feels the pressure of saving the world for Eggman? It's not really his duty in the same way Elise ruling a country is. Sonic is freedom incarnate, and so is his choice to thwart Eggman's plans. But you're right that Elise loves fun and she's much more daring than one would expect! Or perhaps it's Sonic's influence? :P

Nothing to add about the last paragraphs. Sonic's laughter in the final cutscene was a meme for years because Jason didn't sound great lol, which is a shame because if you go past it, Sonic saving Elise from the exploding Egg Carrier and the two laughing afterwards because of the adrenaline rush is a good scene :) "Nice smile!"
