truly this prompt is 1) getting out of hand and 2) stupid in a way that I refuse to think is cringe
#how eyrie and zenos talk is just them stomping all over my love of subtext and I adore it#they’re both painfully earnest#Zenos in how he like. never lies and is just flying by the seat of his pants#and eyrie who is earnest because they’re too traumatized to be anything but earnest#but being earnest doesn’t mean they aren’t a liar#they just lie so much to themself#there’s this interesting part of their dynamic after Zenos comes back#when he can’t find the end either of them desire#there is no mortal or place beyond time and space to bring about the end#there is no place else to turn and thus Zenos turns back to eyrie#if there is nothing left in the muck then might as well crawl back to the light#knowing full well that he will never have the satisfaction of violence from them#and yet he comes back becuase where else is there to go? if nothing else eyrie is still around#a dummies guide on how to cope with not dying in the way you wanted For The Second Time#eyrie liek maybe the universe is like. hey stupid you should live#they’re kinda stuck with each other like that for a long while#they sleep together on occasion. shit happens ya know#but they’re kinda stuck together in a way#there is desire and devotion to each other and if that counts? as love? maybe?#their relationship is like a puzzle box that has money inside and one day I will solve it#oc: eyrie kisne
