Am I a realistic artist? No, I absolutely am not. Have I ever, in any point of my life, drawn an eel? No, I have not. But I tried anyway. Here’s the result

Zayn’s rap EP??? Dropped yesterday???!? “Breaking my silence” says Zayn on Yellow Metal- Cathartic (Zayn is Yellow Metal here) and he DOES in 24 minutes of political, personal, complex and lyrically dense rap zoems! It was leaked/dropped whatever you wanna call it by being posted to Z’s cousin’s account (like the cover the other day); but clearly Zayn is behind these drops and that’s what matters, he is releasing this stuff in a way that will get to the fans but not inspire the media uproar (or contract issues) that posting to his own accounts would. As he says “don’t say I can’t communicate, you know I conversate with you in several different ways”, plus “I’ve had enough of being my own enemy, come a long way since 17, I have a few things to say when I get up on a microphone, I didn’t give up on fame I need this time like therapy it’s just to keep me sane… and to be honest it’s offensive, offensive to my still open wounds, trying to ask me questions they know they don’t have I ever replied, I prefer to sit down be online and respond to fanart,” I LOVE THAT. And the political content?! “What a family needs, and the planet bleeds, the damaged trees, it's never leaving to a real sense so FUCK THE FEDS” (or fuck the fence, not clear, either way, YES ZAYN!), “the snake that’s called Biden, none of them abiding by what they put in writing we should be used to it by now say whatever for the vote and then just chose another route say they’ll never kill another unless that brother’s skin is brown” and “been facing the racists back when I was a kid...kicked me out of the schools, they had a problem with me and the kids that would call me paki still sit in the classroom chilling, and now that I’m older I see they treat us different, got me thinking I was the problem cuz they never dealt with those issues, 20 years later I’m still in the same boat, tryna treat me like my grandpa, say I came up off the boat, came to tell you what I stand for, man I think this shit’s a joke. And happy 28th, Louis is writing music! Looks like he is working with producer team Rick Parkhouse and George Tizzard in London (they call themselves Red Triangle Productions and put out music as SuperHi)- they posted a studio picture and tagged Louis. He’s just visible in the booth, singing. Also present- writer/ musician, Paul Whalley and songwriter Robert Harvey (The Music, The Streets) who were both posted and tagged Louis in as well. Louis followed Harvey. Hell yeah, what a line up! Not only that, Jamie Hartman answered a ProjectKMM participant’s question about other songs with Louis-- are they still working on new stuff? He says “I’m sure Louis has been working on new songs with lots of people!” [as we see, yes] “But yes we have done some too- who knows what will make the next album but he’s a top man and I would always write and hang w LT.”

Harry won Best Lyrics for Adore You at the iHeart Awards and Best Cover Song for Juice but failed to take the Artist of the Year or Song of the Year Categories, but more exciting than that- he’s listed as the Director of a new cosmetics and perfume company!!! People have been speculated about him doing something with Gucci Beauty for a long time now (he’s been noted to use their cosmetics, and definitely models their nail polish), and he has of course done perfume ads for them- there’s speculation that this could be for something with them, or it could just be a new thing of his very own. Well the Harry Styles palette would be a damn hit and we all know it, bring it on!

Anne Marie’s Big Weekend performance aired today and yes! She did Our Song with Niall! It’s the performance they recorded last week or so that we saw the pics from, yay first time getting to see them play it, but it was very quickly followed by the next time as their Jonathan Ross show performance also aired! And in case you’re sad about Niall’s previous promo buddies being replaced, there’s no need for that, he’s only adding to the pack; he tweeted Julia Michaels just today, “love ya hules” AWWW. He posted a bunch of cute OS video bts pics too, followed Oprah Winfrey and said he’d like to go to space and that he “would have liked to have been” a godfather to a 1D boy’s baby but “maybe the next one.”

Meanwhile Liam is looking at the fanart submissions he asked for- he retweeted a terrific drawing of himself laughing and said “this is amazing!” and liked a couple of other art posts. Feels like it’s about time for a monthly Liam catch up video, perhaps? Something else to look forward to!

Jade passed his phone to Azul who was engrossed in his paperwork. With a heavy sigh, he shifted his attention from recent golden contract and looked at the screen. His eyes widen at the sight of pictures.

Jade remarked not sparing a single glance at Azul who was going through an existential crisis. He was anxiously scrolling through countless picture taken, as the description of magicam account stated, when he was not looking.

Him doing some homework, him preparing a special golden contract, him burning his fingers on boiling hot tea or even him looking at the star-studded sky.

When someone could have taken those pictures? Why? Does he have a stalker? Wasn’t he the one who occasionally stalked people?

Multiple questions run through Azul’s head as his hand run through his hair. He let out a heavy sigh, not even bothering to listen to Floyd who was having a time of his life. Eel sat comfortably in his chair and was dying from laughter.

Azul’s secret admirer and stalker? That octopus having a secret fan-blog? How amusing~~ What unfortunate soul could be so engrossed in that fishy businessman?

“Who runs it? Names, Jade, I need names.”

Oh, so octopus entered the “feral disposure mode”, remarked Floyd who licked his lips in anticipation. Oh how he couldn’t wait to squeeze some poor, unfortunate souls.

“Ohhh, yess, we could squeeze that little admirer of yours”

,,I doubt Azul will let you after I reveal who it is”

Jade cut in, making everyone confused. Floyd’s wide grin slightly faltered and Azul raised an eyebrow.

“Ne, ne Jade, don’t keep us in suspension~~”

“It’s Y/N.”

The sound of your name entailed various reactions. Jade only chuckled seeing Azul going through another crisis, as his eyes widen and he was left utterly speechless, while Floyd was (once again) dying from laughter.

“Koebi-chan? THAT Koebi-chan??! It couldn’t get funnier!”

Exclaimed Floyd while Azul was still engrossed in his thoughts.

It suddenly made sense.

The way you would observe him, constantly on your phone when he was taking care of contracts or paperwork. Stealing secret glances and giggling and always dismissing his questions when he asked what made you laugh.

Given that you were dating Azul and he was a busy businessman, you were a rather special guest at Mostro Lounge and recently you’ve been spending there more time than in your own dorm.

“I mean it’s kind of fair. I send you to spy on her and she spies on me in return”

Remarked Azul with a heavy sigh, quickly pushing up his glasses and standing up. He was determined to leave his cabinet before Leech twins tease him or make fun of that blog any further. He caught a glimpse of Floyd opening his lips to throw some nasty and vicious remarks at him and Jade’s eyes were glowing with mischief.

It was high time to evacuate and excuse himself of the room.

Azul had a bigger fish to take care of than Leech twins.

It seemed that his angelfish gone a little bit too far.

,,Right, Shrimpyy~~!! Why would you take so many pictures of Azul when you could just admire me!”

Azul’s deadly calm and cold voice as well as two pairs of arms wrapping up around you, successfully pulled you out from redoing mock papers for alchemy. You let out a loud shriek and jumped at the sudden contact.

Ignoring Floyd and his tightening with each passing second grip, you focused on the screen which Azul was practically showing in your face.

“Oh, you found that?”

You were stunned. You knew the day of your doom will come sooner or later, so you were prepared for every possible scenario. Yet, that didn’t stop you from screaming internally as multiple thoughts run through your brain.

Oh shit. I knew that was a bad idea. What were I thinking? That guppy brain of mine! Please sir, don’t let those eels squeeze me. If that’s how I shall go down, at least I’ve left a worthy legacy.

Azul quickly remarked your flushed face as you fiddled with your thumbs nervously. You tried to wriggle out of the twins’ grip, but your attempts were quickly proved to be futile. Much to Floyd’s dismay you soon stopped struggling and instead you decided to fake your confidence.

Baffle them with your bullshit, usually seemed to be a good strategy.

The other choice would be to seduce Azul, but you weren’t sure if you were able to put on the show right in front of twins.

“I took excellent pictures, didn’t I? I even made sure the light was perfect on each of them. Oh, look at this one! You looked suuuuuper handsome that day, didn’t you? You’re rarely that cheerful and your smile causes flowers to bloom in a 50 meter radius. So it’s only natural that I felt the need to make that look last forever~”

You ignored Floyd’s laughter, subtle chuckles from Jade and Azul who was not only confused and wasn’t sure whether he should scold you or ask you to continue rabbiting on. His face flushed and he tried his best to still appear “collected and calm”, but you could see through his façade.

Azul was actually flattered that you found him worthy of not even a single picture but a whole blog dedicated to his beauty, as you phrased it.

“Y’know, you’re a walking art and I couldn’t help myself but to immortalise it!”

You exclaimed with a bright smile and you lower your head slightly, so hair could do you a favour and hide your embarrassment which was written all over your hair.

“Awwww, Jade, aren’t they such cuties~~~”

,,I think we should leave them alone Floyd”

And with that Jade excused them, leaving you with frustrated Azul who kind of wanted to scold you for taking pictures without his permission and kind of wanted you to shower him with even more praises.

He was greedy, insatiable and desired more.

You giggled seeing his flushed face. You hesitantly came closer, standing right before him. You quickly cut the remaining distance and your forehead touched his, resting in that place. Azul sighed deeply and his gloved hand reached to run through your hair.

“What should I do with you, angelfish, hmm?”

,,Well, you could perhaps kiss me?”

You suggested with a sly smile, making Azul let out a barely audible chuckle. He slightly shook his head and you felt the tension leaving his body.

“You know there’s price for that.”

“Dang, you want me to delete that blog, don’t you?”

,,Y/N you should delete that blog, so my image could appear more professional”

You pouted dramatically, pulling away from him. Before Azul could clarify himself, you cut him.

“Well, that’s a shame depriving all those people from your radiating beauty!”

Well, maybe you were going a bit overboard with the amount of praises and dramatic power it entailed.

Either way, Azul lost it.

Instead of collected and meticulous octopus you saw a determined and frustrated man who was more than eager to protest.

,,No, no, Y/N. I should be THE ONE who should be complementing you and worshipping you, but about that price”

He exclaimed and you only giggled in response as Azul took you in his arms. He began leaving delicate, butterfly kisses on your neck in breaks incoherently mumbling praises.

Your lips soon got captured by chapped lips which tasted like water and salt into a delicate, gentle kiss. It almost made you forget about the slight sadness you had felt when Azul asked you to delete your blog. Instead his next words between nibbling on your skin, made you stunned and worried.

“Instead I should make a blog full of pictures of you, my angelfish, to return the favour”

“W-wait!”

“But could you perhaps continue with your whole “Oh Azul, your radiant beauty is an art” discourse. I would love to hear more”

Thank you to @garden-eel-draws for reblogging this post and reminding me Katamari Damacy is a thing. As I said in the tags when I reblogged it, which is still in the queue as of writing this, it made me realize I got the Katamari Damacy Reroll remastered version in a bundle at some point and forgot to play it. I never had a PS2 so I only played a little of it before.

Turns out it’s still as fun as I remember, still Very Japanese, and still has one of the best soundtracks ever. I don’t actually have a ton to single out good or bad. Not having camera controls without a mode switch is kind of annoying sometimes, movement can get slightly wonky and a little less predictable than would be nice in certain situations, and getting wedged between two objects doesn’t happen often but is annoying when it does. Oh and I’m not a fan of the later challenges that do stuff like end the level when you collect any object of the specified type and score you based on how big of a whatever you managed to get. I appreciate that they’re trying to get you to approach the game differently, but I don’t find it fun, especially when some of the objects that qualify are non-obvious.

For the most part it’s rather clever though. The sense of scale and how it changes through the course of the game and just within individual levels is pretty great. The simple art style was presumably at least partly to keep costs down on a low budget game and to let them fit so many objects on screen on hardware that old, but it still looks good now. The sense of humor is still fun and weird. Just the general concept of the game is a great idea. And the music will always be excellent.

Thanks for reblogging so much that criticizes the netflix show man. Whenever I go into the tags everybodys just saying how good the show was and how good of a character Geralt was and I'm just wondering if Im in the wrong dimension or watched a different show

oh hell yea ofc im gonna criticize this. on r/netflixwitcher they’re keen to bad people who rightfully criticize the show, and that’s bullshit imo. as long as the criticisms aren’t anything 1) caused by gamer brain rot (i.e., “why doesn’t geralt have two swords on his back,” “why doesn’t geralt have a beard,” “why is the witcher medallion a coin”), or 2) stupidly racist (”why are the dryads black?” “why isn’t yennefer pale?”), or 3) stupidly misogynistic (”they made it “feminist,” fuck that”) then im all for it.

i really feel like the book fans got snubbed with this show because they explicitly advertised it as being based off of the books and assured book fans that the cast and showrunner had read the books and respected them, and then didn’t follow through on trying to make them accurate to the original texts at all. i’m not a purist, i’m okay with interpretation and editing things in to fit time or adding in an explanation or two or cutting superfluous dialogue/lore explanations that aren’t necessary, but they changed so much by cutting a lot of things out and adding unnecessary things in that it changed the essentials of the four main characters (and also quite a few side characters, like cahir and fringilla).

geralt is kind, patient, and dislikes violence and is very intelligent, eloquent, and conversational, and protective of the vulnerable and his loved ones, and the reason he scorned his link to ciri was because he didn’t want to introduce her to his violent life, not because he just hated the idea of having a kid. 

jaskier is intelligent and talented and is a true master of his art. and geralt enjoys and appreciates his company and wants to have him around and protects him, etc, etc. jaskier is only considered “annoying” at times because he’s talkative and tells geralt truths about himself that he doesn’t want to face, and also because he has quirks like wanting to write and say reports in verse (to djikstra’s frustration). he’s also a little more of a scoundrel, and he’s a great flirt who easily gets women (unfortunately, because he soon drops them).

yennefer does not scorn aretuza, nor should we immediately feel pity for her due to her backstory b/c she’s so much more than that, nor was she the hero of sodden. she’s much more noble and isn’t an ungrateful brat who now hosts orgies just because she can, and fuck tissaia amiright. she also never gave her reproductive system up as a choice (she’s just infertile, her ovaries don’t function because she is a sorceress (visenna was a biological outlier), she didn’t get her ENTIRE WOMB taken out just so she could get magical plastic surgery). her goal to be a mother is something more innate in her i think, something that comes from wanting to also protect the vulnerable.

ciri is a little more spoiled (but they cut out the sword of destiny so this isn’t freya’s fault). i didn’t have much qualm about her because she just simply didn’t get a chance to show the viewers who she is.

calanthe is the lioness, true, but she isn’t a brute nor is she a genocidal maniac (also how would filavandrel EVER get to cintra if he lives in the mountains .). shes a refined and menacing powerful ruler who commands dignity and respect, not just someone who stirs up violence and wanders in bloody off the battlefield. also i dont remember her being so horny for her husband.

eithné uh..... isn’t that warm and nice. no offense. she does what she has to to protect the sovergnity of brokilon, so she must uphold her standards. but in the books she really was going to just make ciri a dryad and take her from geralt. also the dryads kill people of all ages so they would have killed dara (why did they only shoot his shoulder? not that i would wish for him to die, but dryads WOULD kill him).

foltest is gross but he’s not stupid like that. i think he knows what he did. also he was described as pretty in the books (unfortunately)

borch/villentretenmerth is called the most beautiful for a reason... im really not trying to critique the appearance of the actors, because acting is more important than appearances, but for borch it matters because that’s literally his title. he doesn’t wear a tunic that looks like dragonhide (painfully obvious), and he is a little more enigmatic and charming. 

cahir isn’t a nationalist freak committed to his job and he was only in the military due to familial and societal pressure and also because if he didn’t serve emhyr, he would be thrown in prison (which happens later when he fails and insults emhyr and condemns him for chasing little girls). he’s a young man caught up in the mess of society and is now in the snares of destiny. 

dopplers literally cannot be evil. also they use singular person pronouns to refer to themselves.

fringilla doesn’t practice the dark arts and isn’t a solely evil character and the secret power behind the nilfgaardian throne. she does do evil things but isn’t ruled by it, she took yennefer’s eyes out of her skull, later saved her, and then fucked her husband and hated on/argued with his friends. the woman is a bag of mixed nuts, but she isn’t straight-up evil and she doesn’t perform human sacrifice.

vilgefortz isn’t a weak baby and doesn’t get tired after casting a few spells (okay, there was ONE time when he got tired after casting a single spell. but it was, to be fair...... a pretty dramatic spell.... it was uh... too hot for him to handle, perhaps?, heh... heh..........heh..... im so sorry regis please forgive me i love you). also wasn’t he the hero of sodden and that’s why he was so important and had so much clout in the brotherhood?

no development at all for any of the characters in edge of the world, including nettly, torque, filavandrel, toruviel and the rest of the elves, and lille and the old woman weren’t even fucking IN IT!

30 days of WITCHversary

 Day 11 - Something awesome

Okay, a big PRAISE to the German dub on this one. As some of my followers, who read all my extra long tags, already know – yes, I’m from Germany and therefore watched W.i.t.c.h. in German. And this is actually the good thing about it – non-english speaking countries (that have enough money to spend on film industry) put a LOT effort in dubbing movies and tv shows. Germany is one of those countries. As far as I know the two European countries whose film/movie dubs are know as the best are Italy and Germany and it SHOWS.

Because I am a language nerd, I often do switch languages on my DVDs for fun and tbh when it comes to the guardian’s voices in the English dub of W.i.t.c.h. I was like SO disappointed? Like, a lot of changes (Taranee speaking with Cornelia’s voice at times etc.) and also pretty lame acting? I remember Taranee having an eel in her shirt in episode 3 and the English voice actress did..not deliver at all? While Marie-Luise Schramm, who voices Taranee in the German dub, is like F*CK THERE IS SOMETHING HELP ME AHHHHHH. But actually she is like that the whole time, she has got sm Taranee spirit it’s awesome. Also, Blunk’s German voice was so funny and CUTE while the english one was simply..funny? But idk the german voice feels sm more in character same with Caleb who sounds like a 12 years old in the English sub xD. So enough bitching about the English sub who has it’s good things too (like phobos and Cedric are awsome in there!)

So, long story short – I love the German dub sm! (I also love some other dubs and maybe will do a post about other good dubs too at some point). So while I will save our two evil bad boys for a later day, I’m gonna list up the 5 guardians with their voice actresses now and tell you why they are so good (and I bet now everyone stops reading lol.)

Will: Magdalena Turba

Okay, let’s start with a voice I am nearly always annoyed of because I first noticed her as Will and she therefore stays Will to me. As I said before, I am by far no fan of show!Will and I think things would have been better if Will had a cuter voice in the German dub? But on the other hand Magdalena’s voice is very fitting: she is confident and strong and also catches Will’s bossy moments very well.

Memorable roles: She is also the German voice actress of Amanda Seyfried and I still connect my childhood with Magdalena because she voiced Cera in the A Land Before Time movies (BEST CHILDHOOD MOVIES EVER FIGHT ME).

Irma: Esra Vural

She was sm Irma it is not even healthy anymore xD I once read an interview with Esra in which she said how much she enjoyed voicing Irma and you really FEEL that when you hear her. She got all the emotions so right as if she really was the character herself.

Memorable roles: Another very Irma-like character she voices was Clawdeen Wolf from MH. She is also the German voice actress of Ashley Tisdale. (And now compare a Sharpay Evans to Irma Lair – NO similarities and still she got both characters on point!).

Taranee: Marie-Luise Schramm

Oh, my baby! She makes Taranee such a cute sweetheart. She really catches Taranee’s nervous personality in all the little scenes so well. I think I am more a fan of her acting frightened than the brainy part because the first one makes Taranee sm human if that makes sense? She has got her flaws and still keeps on fighting. And Marie-Luise catches those emotions very well imo.

Memorable roles: Toph Bei Fong from Avatar (also MY GIRL) but she does sm stuff

Cornelia: Anna Predleus

Now, while Cornelia has got a mature voice in almost EVERY dub, the German dub was like: Hell no? She’s the shopping girl? She’s blonde? She needs a high voice. But..it works? Like people complain that Cornelia was too much of a bitch in the show, agreed but she still has got a brain and is still very mature and smart? I mean being a shopping girl doesn’t automatically make you dump. I guess they made Cornelia that way in the show because she was pretty unlikeable in the comics – especially in the first issues. So in the show she might have been bitchy but at least she still was FUN lol. So that is why I like Anna’s voice as Cornelia, yes it is no deep voice but it still fits the character in a different way. I also really liked her acting when it came to Elyon’s situation.

Memorable roles: Especially from my childhood: Gemini Stone from Sabrina – The animated series and Gina Lash from Angela Anaconda xD

Hay Lin: Carmen Katt

Now, she is the only one which I only connect with Hay Lin. Her voice was pretty high and “airy” but still might seem more mature than in other dubs. She really got the weird character of Hay Lin very well and I really like how she feld inside the character if that makes sense? Like, Hay Lin always got that little side-kick quotes and Carmen wasn’t simply reading them out but putting a lot Hay Lin spirit and it - is a bit like in Irma’s case – she really WAS Hay Lin. Like, she was the whole person, all emotions all states Hay Lin went through were on point. Be it her being very enthusiastic about being a guardian, or doing her art stuff or being hopeless in s2 when Yan Lin becomes brainwashed by Nerissa. I love her sm, my little baby girl. (Yes, I LOVE HAY LIN WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT).

Memorable roles: I just looked her up and was like WTF she voiced Cleo de Nile (fhjdjsjlskl) from MH and RIAS GREMORY IN HIGHSCHOOL DXD  xD  and also Raven Queen in Ever After High. Lol, this women has got talent.

 And last but not least I want to talk about ELYON

Elyon: Julia Meynen

Omg, she was SO on POINT. I know, I said that before but Julia as Elyon OMG. I really LOVE how she got the emotions of the lost and angry Elyon in episode 01.14 Parent’s Night. Like, she can go from super friendly and cutesy to absolute terrifying mad like she is in 01.23 when confronting the guardians. She plays Elyon from the nice bf of Cornelia to the brainwashed princess and Julia played is so believable. Again, I use the word emotions here a lot, but Julia’s job as Elyon really gives me goose bumps.

Memorable roles: As for my childhood I’d put here Honoka Yukishiro from Pretty Cure and Sunburst from Barbie: Magic of the Rainbow and also Mami Tomoe from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Of course ALL voice actors if W.i.t.c.h. are GREAT and I will come back to this topic on day 19 xD

You are so right abt kl revolving around l0nce and that's why i got sick of it. As a keith stan i demand the boy to be more than just a trophy thank u very much :/

to be honest, i am still somewhat into k/l, but only as them in a future setting where they’ve matured (mostly on lance’s side) and keith has learned to trust people and overcome his own his own issues, as well as has allowed himself to trust people outside of shiro. so, because of that, in the beginning, i did venture to the k/l side and at first, i was surprised cause almost all the content i ran into was lance-centric–his pov, his struggles, his needs, and as a keith fan, i spent a long time trying to pick through content to find that one rare bit of keith content. i learned that kl is shipped overwhelmingly by lance fans or have a lance bias and it hasn’t really changed. most keith fans i’ve run into are either sk shippers, ka///llura shippers, multishippers, even ke///tor, but not many have turned out to be heavily into k/l.

k/l tends to heavily borrow the s/k elements in canon, like really fucking heavily. i’ve read a lot of fic that i ended up turning away from cause it read too much like s/k, or rather, it read too much like shiro with lance’s head pasted onto his body.  all that dedication and openness and friendly interaction was directed toward lance, albeit a bit watered down, but it was there, reading like it was shiro. k/l in fanon, at it’s most, hardly resembles its canon counterpart. in fact, it couldn’t be anymore different. i guess a lot of people were writing it as though they were in a future setting and had gotten over their own reservations, but it still heavily reeked of the s/k dynamic. 

i hardly ever mention k/l as a ship i somewhat have an interest in because of how it is framed, the tomfoolery of the fandom, and because i can’t truly dive into it because the content created for it tends to be:

most content is about lance or centers on him. like a huge amount, seeing as most k/l are lance fans or have lance biases

keith is often made to resemble so little of himself or his flaws dramatically increased or written from lance’s pov in order to make him palatable for k/l

lance is often treated as the golden boy who does no wrong or he’s got shiro’s or allura’s problems grafted onto him in varying levels of extremism

 k/l altean/galra aus are something i intensely despise because it often removes keith’s biracial identity (hello, interracial person here to tell you that is fucking awful and i hate it so much but it’s so popular that i literally can’t escape it) and treats it as interchangeable, as well as removing lance’s own cuban heritage, and it just feels like a male version of ka///llura. edit: actually, i despise all fics that take away keith’s biracial identity and i hope you step on a lego every day for the rest of your life.

keith and shiro are somehow siblings all the time, and you can tell how much the author doesn’t like how close keith and shiro are in canon by how hard they push shiro and keith to be strictly platonic (those who have put in past or implied s/k are so strong and brave) and use that to water down their relationship, as well as pretty much every other possible main contender for keith’s attention is made to be related to him (mmmm remember when thace/keith was a bit of a Thing but people were tryna act like thace could be keith’s father/uncle/adopted parent, etc? me, too, it was so funny. as well as axca/keith were long lost siblings as if vld doesn’t have a particular art style they use and sometimes recycles their character design for others? mmmmmm) and they constantly try to emphasize it

needing other characters as villains, twisting them into something they’re not, and it’s usually focused on lance being affected the most: see lotor is just a damn fool ass bastard for really no reason, shiro is a villain, lance’s family is homophobic for whatever reason, etc

langst. fucking hate that shit, i will skip any and every fic that has that tag in it or somewhere in the description, i won’t even entertain clicking on it except lamenting the loss of potential for that ugly tag

fake bisexual lance and not really gay but lance sexual keith. honestly, y’all are trying to turn the straightest character on the show bi and the one of the characters in the show that shows one of the least interests in anything. it’s blatantly obvious 

i’m only really in it for the possibility of them in the future being better to each other, seeing how they progress in the future cause them in current canon? would fall apart so fast and so hard and more than likely will have bitter resentment between them. however, as much as i try to hold onto it, i can eel my interest dwindling with every reveal of canon and the fandom’s idiotic behavior on and off the internet, as well as antis having made k/l the ship they are going to make sure the fandom can’t touch with their harassment and bullying. i just don’t even talk about k/l much anymore or even really try to give it any space on my blog.

heres 11 facts about me to anyone who cares (lol)

1. I’m afraid of eels. Dunno why, or when this happened, but I just cant stand ‘em. I mean, have you even searched up a Gulper Eel before? bloody thing looks like it belong in the Twilight Zone.

2. I have Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder. What does this mean? well, basically, I daydream excessively and have a second world with fleshed out characters and a story in my mind that I have been adding on to for about 9 years. maybe more. Really, as long as I can remember. Its kinda lonely, like being the only one in fandom, where you make all the fanfics. Things can trigger MADD too, such as music, media, art, or basically anything I find interesting. The good thing is it helps me with creative process when it comes to writing. (its not all sunshine and rainbows though) Sometimes I can’t sleep for hours without daydreaming.

3. If I could have a dream job, I’d love to become an author. A fiction author. I’ve always enjoyed reading, I grew up on the harry potter series, Series of unfortunate events, The hunger games, Andy griffiths books, Roald Dahl. I’d just find it absolutely amazing if I created characters that people would cherish or find as a role model.

4. I spent 3 days of my life shiny egg hatching for a mudkip. Got a shiny male mudkip. Named him Tiffany. He can mega evolve too, which is always humorous to see a giant pink buff frog boy called Tiffany.

5. I’m suuuuuuuuuuuper sapphic.

6. My hair (on my head ffs) is currently around 93cm long. 

7. I’m Australian. Not really a fact because it’s in my bio but oh well. G’day mate, chuck another shrimp on the barbie.

8. The term ‘chuck another shrimp on the barbie’ is actually false. We don't say shrimp. We say Prawn. Shrimp is what the government wants you to think, we are all in danger. Does this count as a fact about me? you bet it does. 

9. I play piano! I’m also a freakin’ nerd because I learnt how to play Fun fun fun Dayo (from Lucky Star). Also, I prefer Dub. hoo boy, but thats a controversial debate though, let me just say that I will watch it subbed if the voice actors are bad dubbed, and visa-vera.

10. (almost done!)...right when I start running out of things to say...I sure do love me some vidya games. Theres really no genre i’m into the most, although I do have a soft spot for nintendo games (Breath of the wild looks sicc). My favourite game is Jak and Daxter: Precursor Legacy. It’s an oldy, but boy does it punch my nostalgia in the boob.

11. One time when I was sick and at home, I decided the best thing I could do was create a language. Or at least, recode the english alphabet into hieroglyphic looking codes. I can write fluently in this code, which i’ve named Zout (After the dutch licorice I was downing while sick, seriously its super helpful for colds). I write quite frequently in my work books in zout, people think i’m crazy, and you know what? maybe I am a little. But we all are, y’know? What do you require to be considered normal anyway?

CAPE TOWN ART FAIR QUESTIONNAIRE

The Goodman gallery had the same gallerists as the gallery, and the layout of the booth was similar to the gallery’s layout. The walls were not too cluttered, each work was spaced out evenly. There were about 2 Goodman gallery booths. None of them had works from the current artists being shown at their gallery in Cape Town. The Stevenson Gallery booth felt interactive, much like the gallery itself. There were different gallerists and different works up. The vibe was very similar to the main gallery in Woodstock. The Blank Gallery booth was run by the same gallerists, and displayed some work of the same artist who was being shown in the gallery. There was some other work up by other artists as well. A few pieces in the booth were installation and hanging pieces, much like the gallery in Woodstock. The booth was a bit more filled than the gallery itself.

2.  I absolutely loved Sheltering by Matt Philips. This painting was geometric and colourful and abstract. It is a very textured painting made up of many sharp shapes such as triangles. The artist used silica and pigment to paint this on linen fabric, which adds to the texture. I love this piece because I love abstract art. His use of colourful shapes in the order they are makes the painting seem like a ladder of some sorts. Ascending. Another piece I loved was An unexpected absence by Kirsten Beets. This piece made up of many other pieces is part of a series of paintings this artist did. Very simple, minimal painting of three chairs in a seemingly confined landscape. The lack of people in this painting makes it enticing to look at. It brings sadness to the surface, but yet so aesthetically pleasing. One of the three chairs is tipped over, making it seem left out. The role of these chairs are almost personified. Another piece I loved was by Kenneth Baker, called Abstract. This old piece resembles an almost tribal symbolic message. The dark lines and colours create a sense of a journey that has been undertaken by the artist. Either inward or an outward journey. I love this piece because of how raw and rough it is. One can see the layers of paint, and the thick lines he wished to present. This piece brings up many questions, and makes one wonder what the artist had to experience in order to make such a piece.

Three pieces I disliked were to do with large figurative, slightly realistic pieces. I really do not like realistic figures painted in a “commercial” way. Time keeper 113 by Norman O’Flynn does not interest me because of how saturated it is. The Large painting of a figure in bright vibrant colours draws me away. The slight street art aesthetic is played with in this piece by using some spray paint and thick paint. This piece comes from a series called The timekeepers. I struggle to find meaning and authenticity is this styled work. Another piece I disliked was Ornama 119 by Kilmany-Jo Liversage. Another large scale painting. This portrait was created by acrylic, spray paint and markers on canvas. This vibrant and saturated colour portrait resembles a pop art type artwork. Using conventional materials. The street art style is also seen in this piece by using spray paint, and tagging a section of the painting. The artist’s use of thick colourful lines does not resonate with me as I find it too distracting; I’m not sure where to look at. Finally, Nouvo Mondo by A. Collesano - an ink drawing of a giant eel hovering over a lighthouse. I am not a fan of tattoo styled drawings, nor fantasy creatures. This artwork does not sit well with me because it doesn’t say much to me. I feel Andrea’s olden day technique of ink drawings are too outdated to be creating them today.

3. The predominant mediums used in this year’s art fair were painting, mixed media. Predominant processes were repetition and collaging using other materials such as fabric, string etc.

4. The major differences between booths were obvious when looking at the size of some booths. Some were much larger than others, displaying more and larger works. Some booths went inside a smaller room; this was not often, but a few booths did so. A few booths were interactive, thus allowing the viewers to really take part in the work they were displaying. Some booths just had works displayed on the four sides of their walls, where as others had pieces in the middle of the booth. 

5. In terms of signage, some booths have more than others. Solo booths have more signage around the pieces; more descriptions. Sometimes there were description of the exhibition on the wall next to the artist’s name. Other booth only had a small sign stating what gallery they were, and small labels on each work. Some booths didn’t have label on their, thus one would have to ask who the artist was and what was the work called. Most of the time, titles of the works were very small next to the piece.

6. The general layout of the fair was straight forward. Borders around the room, and columns going down the middle. This made it easier to navigate through the venue, and see all the work without missing anything. This layout, too, highlighted the favoured galleries and works being displayed in the middle, and the more ‘average’ galleries were on the outskirts.

7. The lighting at the fair was bright, but calmly bright. It made it easy to critically and clearly see the work. Each booth was very clearly and nicely lit. 

8. The general dress code at the fair is semi formal. Mostly button up shirts and longs, or dresses. The people running the booths differ from causal formal to very formal. Mostly the international booths were dressed more formal than South African booths. I think this is so, to make an impression the viewers. A lot of people running the booths were dressed in black, alongside a few of the fair attendees. Some attendees were dressed rather quirky and unique, whilst others were dressed more casual. 

9. The various ‘markets’ at the fair were around food, alcohol, books and prints. These products being sold are aimed at the general public attending the fair, either tourists looking for souvenirs and lunch for the viewers. These various markets are quite higher end markets, selling more expensive products. The fair is aimed the slightly more wealthier people.

10. An artwork that exemplifies wealth is done by Ayanda Mabula. I do not know the name of the painting, but it is very large framed painting of a black woman on a horse. This vibrant painting shows a black woman dressed in old victorian dress, riding a bucking horse. The background resembles a bright wallpaper. This pieces displays wealth because of the clothes this woman is wearing, and the animal in the painting. The golden frame also emphasises wealth because of it elaborate design. The connotation of horse riding depicts wealth, along with a victorian styled dress. 

11. An artwork that I feel does not fit in with the context of the art fair is Singer, bissection by Jake Michael. This metallic and sharp sculpture, I feel does not resonate with the rest of the art fair because it does not feel welcoming, nor does it give a sense of hope, much like I feel most of the artworks in the fair does. This sculpture is part of a series of metallic sculptures of similar style. As this artwork does give this artist presence and freedom of displaying his vision, it does not form part of the collective vision I felt from the rest of the artworks; the vision being bringing awareness to certain issues, or highlighting up and coming artists.

12. It is not very easy to ask about prices at the art fair. It feels very intimidating to ask a gallerist how much a piece costs, as this is not the normal thing to do. The gallerist immediately pauses and gives a certain look of shock when asking about the prices of artworks. One gallerest, of whom I knew personally was willing to share the prices of some pieces, but others were sort of reluctant.

13. There was not too much branding around the art fair, but the brands I did notice were alcohol brands, and magazine brands. The alcohol sponsorship was targeted at attendees or the fair, and was pushing the name of the alcohol company. The company being Boshendal Wine, the brand is rather fancy and the clientele is for the wealthy. The magazine branding was for inquisitive art lovers, and young people, because the Magazine brand is curated for young people (The Lake Magazine).

14. The CTICC is a popular event venue in Cape Town, and has a large enough space to cater for such an event like the Art Fair. The CTICC is home to other international commercial events such as the Design Indaba and the Cape Town International Jazz festival. To host an event at the CTICC gives one status and recognition. I think that the Cape Town Art Fair is hosted at the CTICC because of the venue’s popularity and status.

15. The oldest artworks I found at the Art fair were works made by Kenneth Baker and William Kentridge. Both artists dating back to the 70’s. I do not know the date or the name of the artwork by William Kentridge, but Baker’s work dates back to the 1970’s.

16. I found that the local Galleries were showing some of the younger artists works. Fanie Buys, Bronwyn Katz and Chris Valentine were some of the younger artists.

17. The solo booths drew me in more. By displaying a variety of work by one artist, an impact can be made. The solo booths had more information in the booth, and similar themes were touched on in the body of work, making it easier to follow what was going on in the work. The group booths did give face to various artists, but I feel that to have a solo booth allowed a strong message to be conveyed to the viewers.

18. Pierre Vermuelen was a big name that I picked up on at the art fair. He is a young, but very strong artist. His work was also on auction at the Cape Town auction house. William Kentridge popped up a few times. His work is becoming historic, and a few different galleries were displaying his work. It was interesting to see different galleries showing the same artist - that, to me, shows how loved and valued the artist is. 

19. Trends in subject matter that I noticed were over racism and psychological issues or tendencies. A lot of African galleries were displaying bodies of work showcasing issues around racism. I think this was done to invoke emotion and awareness to the typical art fair goer, being a white middle class person. Psychological subject matter was displayed in order to demonstrate the so called “norm” of having psychological issues. Trends in materials I noticed were the use of fabric and painting. Mixing the two has become evident in a lot of works. Artists are expanding their mediums and attempting to use mixed media.

20. I would love to be represented by Ebony curated or Smac gallery. Both these galleries are open to new and different art. The open mindedness behind these galleries is promising and hopeful. 

21. I would love to work for 99 on Loop. This gallery, I feel, is one that is on top of the times, and showcases very new artists and gives these new artists a chance in the art world. I would love to be a gallerist for this gallery in one of their shows. Either this, or to find new artists to showcase. 

22. Questions that came up for me were questions around where is art going to? I found a lot of the same ‘commercial’ work in many booths. I do not feel that this is where true art should be going. Other questions that came up was why were there so many European galleries present at the fair, and why non of the America’s? Another question was how do people want to perceive art? Do they want to see change, emotion, protest, or do they want to see colourful and big paintings that look ‘nice.’?

23. If I had a gallery or some sort of art institute, I would want to show it at the fair. I would want my booth to differ from the others by displaying many different works by many different people. Almost littering the walls with different local art, from artists who are almost nameless, to up and coming artists. Each piece would be titled and the artist’s name would be shown. This would attract people because of how much would be in the booth.
