The first years working together to stitch Yuu and Grim their own Dorm Uniform, like maybe one based off of the ghosts or off of Mickey. (I feel so robbed that they havent made or gotten one yet I DON'T CARE THAT ONE OF THEM IS A CAT LET THEM HAVE FANCY STUFF CROWLEY!!! 🥺)

anything 4 u, baby.

it's epel's idea, surprisingly. with yuu's birthday coming up, and as the only one who knows about fashion design (pomefiore drills it into you, he couldn't NOT know if he tried), he gets to work making his own ramshackle dorm uniform.

he also pulls ace into it to have his professional fashion opinion on it, since let's be honest: pomefiore student or no, a city boy like ace knows WAY more about fashion than a country bumpkin like epel.

but how to design it? well, all nrc dorms have to fit three standards:

they have to be practical for the dorm dimension they're in (ex. how savanaclaw uniforms have boots because the outside terrain can be hard to walk on)

they have to take clear inspiration from the member of the great seven they represent (ex. how octavinelle hats have nautilus shells on them, just like the one the sea witch used to wear all the time)

they have to represent the "spirit" of their dorm (ex. heartslabyul uniforms tend to have half-painted roses on them)

what epel and ace came up with was a white, hooded cloak -- ripped, raggedy, and patched up with mismatch pieces of fabric. keeping the cloak together is a black, mouse-like symbol with overexaggerated ears, that operates much like a buckle. underneath the cloak is a black dress shirt with white suspenders, crimson shorts with white pockets, and pale yellow low-heels.

since yuu and grim live in all the 4 seasons, the cloak can come on if it gets cold, and it can come right back off if it gets hot. the cloak itself takes clear inspiration from the ghosts and the run-down nature of ramshackle. the underneath is... well, based on a dream epel keeps having for some reason, but it seemed fitting.

with his design secured, ace asks ortho to generate a visual for his design for ramshackle's uniform (while epel can design, he can't draw to save his life). ortho is happy to do it, obviously, and grateful to put his creative talents to use. he even adds a light blue gradient to the cloak to give it a more ethereal vibe.

then, epel asked sebek to sew it for them (being one of the only one of the freshmen who bothered to learn how to use a needle and thread (spinning wheel reference, baby~)). sebek does it in that tsundere-like manner of his, saying that he's "only doing it so the ramshackle prefect doesn't keep embarassing all of us", but even though he only uses a spinning wheel, he has the whole thing done in less than a day.

jack and deuce don't have much to do with the process at all, but yuu and grim are more likely to take the present more seriously if it comes from the two most trustworthy people in their friend group. yuu and grim open the box, and yuu is so moved by the gesture, this act of kindness from nrc students of all people, they start crying.

(and to correlate with your next ask-- yes. eventually, the freshmen DO all get ramshackle uniforms, lol. except instead of a mickey logo keeping their cloak together, it's their respective coffin logos.)

Ortho really is underappreciated, and I think a lot of people just aren’t sure what to do with him… and some people are genuinely uncomfortable with him lol But he has so much to offer and is so unique and interesting that I can’t really help it. He is a joy to draw, and I am always happy when people like drawings of him.

(DON'T READ THE REST of this ask if you don't want spoilers for his birthday vignette, I don't even know if what I'm going to say counts as spoilers or if you care about these kind of vignettes)

They briefly introduced Jamil's mob roommate, and of course we don't get to know a lot about him (he's a mob after all), but I thought it was funny that his main contribution to the vignette was sleeping through every noise Jamil makes (like drying his hair or when his alarm clock goes off). I like to think that he is the one mob student who just isn't interested in Jamil in the slightest. It's not that he doesn't think he is pretty, it's just that it does nothing for him. Jamil, you need to treasure him!

Oh god, the first years just keep fucking each other to make each other jealous!! 😭 This is why romance is forbidden in this kind of schools, because otherwise this shit happens! (fun fact: I have a little comic about Ace recruiting Epel to make Deuce jealous, but for now it’s only been posted on ko-fi) In all seriousness, these boys really are horny and petty enough for all kinds of drama to happen.

Epel would also probably be very into the fact that he is being this cool and mature… he would expect to be more experienced by Jack but 😔

APPARENTLY THE ENTIRETY OF THE FIRST YEAR! Shame on them! Shame on these boys! Sebek is the only normal one! 😡

In reality though, I can see Ace doing it; Deuce wouldn’t do it intentionally, he just ends up in these situations that make Ace jealous. Epel would absolutely try to do it though. Ortho might too, actually, but he would just tease a little bit…

Azul would be petty enough to do it but he isn’t super liked by others, so there probably won’t be much flirting happening lol Idia might tease Azul like that though, but it would backfire horribly somehow. I wouldn’t call it “flirting” though because Idia isn’t much of a flirt, but complimenting someone for being good at board-games is enough to get Azul mad.

Jade would do it in a very obvious way, almost too crudely for how sneaky and manipulative he usually is. But that’s absolutely intentional.

Jamil probably would, but not with Kalim – he knows that this kind of thing wouldn’t really work with him, and they don’t have this kind of relationship… pissing Azul off would be funny to him though because his reactions are very obvious.

Vil might do it a little bit; I keep thinking about that one jp RookVil comic about Vil surrounding himself with the Savanaclaw mobs during Beanfest and thinking  “it wouldn’t hurt for you to get jealous every once in a while”. Not something he usually goes for, but if he is feeling a little bit petty (i.e. after the VDC)? Easily.

Rook and Lilia both do it a lot but it’s never their intention to make someone else jealous lol

Malleus would be petty enough to do something like that though. As someone who often feels left out and neglected, he would be overjoyed to see someone getting jealous of him and upset with him flirting with someone else. He made Lilia jealous a couple of times, and it’s always such a big win for him that he can’t stop grinning very smugly…

Anon, the mushroom itself is both fascinating and disturbing at the same time. Jade would be enamoured by it; both by how difficult it is to grow it and how powerful it is. He absolutely will start growing some. Why do you have caterpillars in your room, Jade? No reason. What is it that grows on their little silly heads? Just a little project…

He will definitely take his time deciding what would be the best use for it, but since he has to check if it works or not anyway, he would need a guinea pig. I guess it means Silver is getting another risotto 🤤

Confession: 

Lilia denied his feelings for you at first. He knew that his history was violent and much longer than yours, and he felt that he could never expose you to that part of himself. 

But one way or another, you find out, and when you accept and embrace him, I imagine he feels such love and affection for you that he almost confesses right there and then. 

He takes his time to plan the confession: taking you on a trip to see something cool, and then asking at just the right moment, like the romantic he is. 

Relationship:

Lilia would want to take you to see the world with him. You two would spend all vacations in different countries and cities, taking in the world and spending all of your time together. 

Some dates are just the two of you staying home and learning together, though. If one of you sees something they’re interested in, the whole evening can be spent learning about it side by side, exchanging kisses between paragraphs and documentaries.

beautiful additions. don't hide them in the tags i love them. i was actually discussing w my friend king (he doesn't have a tumblr sadly ik but he has ao3) more abt this earlier so i'm gonna dump some things we've discussed/brainrotted so far.

on the hair, lilia's pink/red streaks are actually dyed LMAO so that might not be a marker. i initially said the marker is the eyes, yuu and lilia's eyes are VERY similar, but king made me see the light by proposing lilia's little ear tufts that look like bat wings.

malleus and silver see it and INSTANTLY make the connection. they actually look similar enough that ppl look at them and go huh, must be cousins and never mention it around them because it never comes up. cousins because who would assume that a third year is a first year's bio dad? nobody! except malleus and silver. they Know. they have the horrifying realization that they're father has bred like oh my god, he actually at some point got someone pregnant. they do NOT wanna think of their dad in that context. they didn't even consider he was capable of it. poor silver has struggle sleeping.

but like, lilia was fucking WILD at some pt man. it's a miracle he doesn't have 20 bastard children running around and this yuu is the only one. he has decades of child support to pay lmao.

we were thinking this yuu was born sometime after malleus hatched (a very rough time in lilia's life), so that time period between malleus hatching and silver being found. accidental fulfillment of the forgotten middle child prophecy lmaoo. but yeah statistically it's most likely for yuu to be a full fae so that's what i decided. king and i had a brief thing where we weren't sure abt the genetics of it, but in the end we decided the bat fae gene is recessive (based on a couple things) so rlly yuu ending up bat fae was luck of the draw and fate fucking w lilia once more. we also decided on her being 142 because that's a nice even number, and based on our eyeballing and at-a-glimpse math of how bat faes age that would make her abt 14 in human years. she got to nrc early because she's good at magic. so technically she is simultaneously the youngest and the middle child if u think abt it lolol

as for yuu's mom, she doesn't give a fuck abt lilia! or anyone/anything tbh. she's out chilling in the twst maldives with a glass of wine in her hand while her only daughter (we at this pt decided this yuu was she based on vibes) was off at school. she doesn't care abt if yuu meets or finds her father because tbf yuu's mom doesn't even know herself— could have been anyone really.

king also suggested giving yuu a neglectful childhood from an alcoholic parent for angst and i loved that. we love angst here. king said its incentive for yuu to be taken in by her bio dad and u know what that's fair. i was already on board before he even said that because i love making my characters be angsty.

this yuu sorta gives me "so self sufficient never even considered there was neglect" vibes. like that's just their normal. in her head it's like, all families are different. and besides ppl cook the meals at home instead of their parents all the time, doesn't see an issue w the fact she started to do this younger than most because her mom occasionally forgot to cook for both of them. she's probably kind of casual about her home life too because she thinks it's normal.

riddle's overblot is probably a culture shock to her because to well adjusted ppl they look and go, oh his mom is a helicopter parent and abusive and probably a bit crazy. YUU however looks at riddle and is thinking is this guy in jail or smth, because she literally can not perceive a parent being like that. literal opposites.

taking the whole school year to find out WOULD be funny, maybe as an offshoot oneshot moment instead of the actual fic though. because sadly and realistically the chances of sebek not being in the room whenever yuu and lilia are with each other until the end of the school year are slim. that, and lilia knows his boys are hiding something from him (malleus & silver still do not know if they should tell him, let alone how to broach the topic)

when lilia is officially introducing malleus and silver to her as her brothers lilia would probably also say something like "hmm, though i suppose if you were to go into technicalities, malleus would be your third-brother" (like half-brother. i strongly hc lilia/reven/maleanor and we also don't know how dragon reproduction works so for all we know malleus could have 2 bio dads. just saying). and it'll b a ??????? moment for all 3 siblings because they do not have the context to know that lilia means third brother as in yuu and malleus share ⅓ dna from him. realistically they all might consider that there's another brother they don't know about, or does lilia mean sebek?? they do not know. honestly it's probably like dad lore.

twst au where yuu is lilia's illegitimate child. lilia had a rough time you know, had a lot of one night stands, doesn't even remember over half of them. totally reasonable. so yuu turns up to nrc and lilia is oblivious because the notion of having a bio child has never occurred to him. but malleus and silver notice. they're staring at yuu suspiciously and then looking at each other like... you see it, right..... that person looks a LOT like dad, right.... like A LOT a lot..... yeah. and yuu is also oblivious!!! yuu's never considered who their father may be. they see lilia and are like oh cool another bat fae, don't see too many of those.

lilia snd yuu unironically bonding over both of them being bat faes w/o ever realizing they're father and child.

silver and malleus are in conspiratorial whispers like. DO WE TELL THEM.

in the end it's sebek who tells them but it's like, complete accident. like oh lilia-sama!!! i was not aware you had a blood child!!! and they're both like. ???? what — but then it processes and they're like, wait. pause. squints at each other. looks in a mirror. PAUSE.

Part 1

Yuu: Happy Birthday!

Carmina: Ah! There you are Yuu! Thank you so much!

Yuu: Are you having fun?

Carmina: I really really am! I’ve never had a party on the surface before! Nor have I been to one either. Hehehe. . .

Carmina: I’m used to big events like this but this one is by far the most interesting.

Yuu: What were your parties like before?

Carmina: Oh they were so much fun! Back in my world, Daddy—er—my father would always hold a big celebration in the ballroom. He does it for both mine and my sisters’ birthdays every year!

Carmina: We always invite our family and friends, and Father would hire the best band in the kingdom! Everyone would get so lively, all that dancing and singing and swaying to the music! Almost makes me wanna dance right now!

Yuu: I thought you said you were bad at dancing?

Carmina: U-Um I-I did! Oh! W-Well, I suppose you could say I’m not the most. . . flexible dancer on the shoreline. Eh hehehe. . .

Yuu: I thought you were taking lessons from Vil-Senpai?

Carmina: Um! Y-yes I am! But why don’t we talk about something else right now? Ah hahaha!

Carmina: Besides I think Vil-Senpai might still be mad at me.

Yuu: Well, why don’t you tell me about your family?

Carmina: My family? Well. . . I have three little sisters back home, and each one a bigger handful than the last hehe. Oh! But don’t tell them that!

Carmina: My second youngest sister is only a few years younger than me. But even so it feels like we’re total opposites.

Carmina: She’s not very open yet she’s always so blunt. So there are times where it’s hard to tell what she’s feeling. She can be so mean to me.

Carmina: But she’s super talented too!

Carmina: She’s always been better than me when it comes to instruments, and every time she’s make a new piece I’m always the first to hear it! Doesn’t she sound amazing!

Carmina: Secondly, there’s the twins. I know they’re still young so I can’t get too mad, but they can never sit still! Don’t get me wrong I love them, but they’re always causing trouble and it’s so difficult trying to chase them whenever they swim away!

Carmina: *pouts* I try to stop them but they always listen to Mother instead of me! So unfair. . . I’m the big sister here.

Carmina: But I guess it makes sense. Mother has always been very supportive and very gentle, so our people love her. Although, she is. . . um. . . a bit scary when she’s mad hehehe. .

Carmina: Finally there’s my father. He’s the king so he’s definitely someone I admire! Although sometimes he can get ahead of himself. Hehehe. . .

Yuu: What do you mea—Wait?! King?!

Carmina: Hmm? Oh you didn’t know? I thought I told everyone. . . Well, yes! Father is the king, and a powerful one too. His magic is so strong, he can make these giant tidal waves and stormy hurricanes! Isn’t that cool!

Yuu: Y-yes, it is. . .

Carmina: With all that power you’d think he wouldn’t worry as much. *sighs* Oh? It’s just that Father can be a bit overprotective sometimes. Especially with me.

Carmina: He never lets me go swimming at night or wander the palace grounds without someone else around. Even during festivals he likes to keep an eye on us.

Carmina: He won’t even let me go near the surface either. It’s not all bad up there anyways. . . *sighs* I just wish he’d stop treating me like a little guppy sometimes, you know?

Yuu: Maybe he’s just looking out for you?

Carmina: Yes I suppose, and I know he cares for us. I just wish he wouldn’t worry so much.

Carmina: Besides, so many wonderful things come from the surface. Cell phones, cameras, games, paintings, and books. Plus there’s kind humans that live here just like you! >v<

Part 2

Yuu: So what kind of gifts did you get?

Carmina: I got so many cool things! I’ll have to repay everyone when their birthdays come around.

Carmina: Ace and Deuce both got me a bouquet of flowers, which really surprised me. I believe they’re called, hibiscus flowers? They were such a pretty color too. Like pink and orange mixed together, just like a sunset!

Carmina: *pouts* But Ace was being so rude about it. He just laughed and said “This is the kind of stuff girls like right? So you better enjoy these!” Then he walked away!

Carmina: *sighs* Anyways, Jack gave me a pair of jars for my collection and Epel baked me an apple pie. It looked so yummy! I’ve never tried apple pie before.

Carmina: But before I could take a bite Sebek barged in shouting how “I should be grateful to Waka-Sama for allowing him to come!”

Carmina: I suppose I can’t get too mad though, his gift was so pretty. It was a charm bracelet with shiny little pearls all around it.

Yuu: You mentioned a collection. Is that what all those jars are for?

Carmina: The jars in my room? Yes they’re apart of my collection! I normally fill them with seashells and other things I find lying around but recently I’ve been finding other items.

Carmina: Candy, ribbons, rocks, string, books, music sheets, bracelets, beads. Oo! And I recently have a new edition to my manga collection thanks to Idia-Senpai!

Carmina: And the Leech twins gave me some new cups to finish that old teaset I found!

Yuu: That sounds like a lot of things. . .

Carmina: Really? I’d say my collection this time is a lot smaller than usual.

Yuu: Well, did you get any gifts from your other friends?

Carmina: Oh I did! The Light Music Club actually came in together to give me theirs. Lilia-Senpai gave me a record player for all those old discs in the attic, and Kalim-Senpai gave me music sheets of songs from his homeland.

Carmina: Oh and Cater-Senpai got me tickets to a concert! He’s showed me this band before and they’re so good, I love the upbeat tropical feeling they give. Isn’t that exciting!

Yuu: You really like music don’t you?

Carmina: Well course I do. I’ve always been interested in the Royal Music Program since I was little. Plus, I’ve been getting a few new lessons from Tsunotarou.

Carmina: So naturally I just fell in love with it!

Carmina: Music makes people happy; it brings them together and helps them smile. I feel if doing something you love makes people happy, then you just have to keep doing it the best you can!

Carmina: And that’s just what I’m going to do!

Yuu: That all sounds wonderful! And I wish you a Happy Birthday!

Carmina: [waves] You go on and have fun now okay?

Me: chilling at the Mostro Cafe while wearing my headphones on

Taniya: outside the campus roof or I could do parkour for fun

Taniya: sure, if you know how to climb a high building before

Question 20: Ortho asks if you’ll help him drag Idia out of his room so he won’t skip class. How does that work out?

Me: I would convince him to go out because he’ll miss everything that is going on

Taniya: why not we use Idia’s unfinished vr headset then trick him that you, me, and ortho help fixing his vr and telling that we created an adventure virtual reality game called “NIGHT RAVEN SIMULATOR” for him, as a test subject, to practice interacting with other students. We just have to remove the lenses, make very convincing that everything is just a simulator/game, and lure him out from his room to attend his classes

Me: but what if he notice our trick?

Taniya: don’t worry I’ll tell the other students/teachers that we have to play along with his virtual fantasy and not let Idia to suspect anything and everything that is reality

Me: but what if it fail?

Taniya: *sighs* if it fails, well at least we can do is getting him to experience of going out for one last time

Taniya: at the end of class, we’ll send him back to his room and tell everyone never mentioned about our “getting idia out from his room” plan

Me: ok that really is too much work but that’s actually smart of you

Taniya: well it’s that least I can do to help a friend to boost his confidence

Me: aww *hugs her*

Question 21: Who would you rather train with, Jack, Sebek, or Ashton?

Me: is it alright to say none of them?

Taniya: training with Jack, ok but with Ashton, no way

Question 22: You’re locked up in Mr. S’s shoppe after hours, who’s with you?

Me: do I really have to pick? then ace and kamil, we’ll get in trouble in the morning

Taniya: Ruggie, I guess? he’ll help me find a potion that can grow my height

Me: I don’t mind sleeping with him, he’s kind of cute and comfy to begin with

Taniya: I’ll gently push him off and draw his face with a permanent marker while he’s asleep. When he wakes up, I’ll pretend nothing happened until someone notice his face

Me: that’s kinda devious

Taniya: that’s what he get for sleeping on me

Taniya: as a dorm assistant, I’ll hire him as my helping buddy to do the work in my dormitory
