seen a lot of analyses of severance lately from a ton of diff angles (family abolition, labor rights, mechanisms of control, just general psychological) but i haven't seen a ton of discussion on cults in specific and the overlap of cult and corporation in general. while i'm still not caught up on the show... i will say as a survivor of a highly corporatized cult a TON of severance feels incredibly accurate and astute to a lot of things i've personally experienced and noticed

#narrates #severance #how do i put it. there's a lot of overlap btwn corporations and cults as many people much smarter than me have noticed #just owing to the fact that there's only so many ways to control large groups of people and therefore a lot of cult methodologies/ideologie #end up bleeding into corporate landscapes esp if corporate power goes unchecked #a lot of things are like cults. schools are like cults #governments are like cults. corporations are like cults. families are like cults. not all of them Obviously.#but power tends towards certain methods! so a lot of things just do end up being cult adjacent.#still. not a ton of analysis looking towards the specifics of when cults become corporatized or vice versa #which is fair i think bc. not a lot of people have experience with that highly specific overlap #but if i get the spoons together i should discuss some shit eventually...#itll likely be highly personal but Whatever im not ashamed of that and i think i have interesting things to say regardless
