ok SO i knownthis is a yes or no type question but ohboy did it open new neural pathways in my brain, so bear with me here.

By continuing with the premise that the Anteater from the cuphead dlc is the same one from the Fleischer short we could deduce that he has a long history of rivalry w ants(them representing authority in both cases, one police and the other military)

Now the moonshine mob obviously does not sympathize w ants either and is open knowledge to every bug out there how the anteater and the ants collide,but to the bugs he's still an antagonistic entity, an apex predator that only ants themself seem to know how to keep at bay. But for the gang the threat these colonies represent to their nefarious affairs is greater than this killing machine, so interest on having him on their side aroused. But how could potential prey aproach such beast?

I imagine that in one of these altercations they coincided and for convenience joined forces against the antcops, coming out victorious. Seeing the benefits for both sides they decided to start an alliance(the enemy of my enemy is my friend emaright). I personally think that Anteater was somewhat of a loner not only in his clashings w the ants but life in general and isn't used to this kind of thing(just like reallife giant anteaters who mostly live in solitary), but he slowly became used to their company and found himself around the bugs more frequently. Seeing how well this worked for the bug gang they decided to make him an official member after a while! a fantastic goon and personal bodyguard for the up guys. and maybe something else for the loudest one;))))
