silly but I've kind of started suspecting that men rarely have the aspiration to be honestly proud of themselves. "dad lore" is a dangerous frame of mind because you make no move forward & detach yourself from the present too, which is where men thrive, the only work they do is to put themselves in these positions of abdicated responsibility. (yes I'm bitter). I've seen men proud of themselves and their values, and it's massively lost. age isn't an excuse. learn how to take something in and make a decision about it. life doesn't happen to you or for you, you are doing everything yourself. what substance is there that you can claim?

#ive never seen a good man making progress by his own work #its always his family propping him up and female relationships rounding him out #have you ever seen a young man embrace himself and his place in peoples lives so fully that hes conscious of skills and principles?#not just behaviours and social mobility?#not just his own interests?#a real lack of principles in my opinion #women live a more accurate depiction of society's work and how are men contributing now that capitalism has eroded sense of purpose in work #how are men building lives for themselves interwoven with society without a family? without only having their born family and circle of men #the biggest question. why do they generally all feel so helpless and hopeless?#people have done harder things than going against the patriarchy as a straight man. theyre just full of excuses.#get on my calibre and dare to impress
