i find it kind of funny there was a posting trend a while back about dunking on books that market themselves with fanfiction tropes like "enemies to lovers slow burn queer space gays" with no real plot description and now i run into a ton of posts describing pieces of media like "cannibalism toxic old (wo)man (yuri/yaoi) doomed time loop organ murderers" with no real plot description

not saying these posts are being made by the same people. but it's a little funny that people complained about marketers describing things with "cringe fandom" tropes but you can just make a post listing out "cool edgy tumblr user" tropes in basically the exact same manner and it'll trend. makes you think the marketers were just mimicking how they see people describe their favorite pieces of media themselves
