If you could go to any fictitious place where would you go and why? Torn between Narnia and Rivendell. Either way, somewhere chill.

What books really formed you as a child? Lord of the Rings and Narnia and Harry Potter, of course, but some other big ones were Anne of Green Gables (my soul sister) and everything Eva Ibbotson ever wrote (seriously Eva I. was a master, please read everything by her)

what’s your least fav. genre of book? I’ve never gotten into political thrillers because politics stress me out more than they thrill me.

do any books have sentimental value to you, why? Anne of Green Gables as previously mentioned, and probably the Picture of Dorian Gray! They were very important to me when I was younger

if you could only save three books in your bookshelf from a fire which ones would they be? Any of the Tolkien ones, and AoGG once again

what books did you have to read in school? A whole bunch, but my faves were probably Dorian Gray and Brave New World

Which of your characters carry the largest piece of your personality? If we’re talking about OCs? Probably Annie Hope from the big fanfic AU I wrote, and in my original fiction there are two big ones: Mavis Baird, confused American heiress (from the book I’d like to write about an American girl who inherits a castle in Scotland) and Marta von Holstadt (excessively impulsive Austrian countess who channels anxiety into craft projects)

I’m just now realizing both Mavis and Marta start with M, as does my first name. This may be what they call projection.

which author would you like to meet irl? If we’re talking ones who are currently alive, @neil-gaiman you can come over to my house for dinner literally any time

if you could bring one writer back from the dead who would it be? I mean I would kind of like to bring back JRR Tolkien but I also don’t want him to see ANYTHING I’ve written based on his books. I’ll go with Oscar Wilde because dammit, he deserved a longer life.

I sure have! Loki/Clint was actually...I think the first MCU pairing I technically wrote fic for. if not the first then definitely the second. and boy do I still love it.

After Glóredhel and Princess Telperiën, I got to thinking of another Númenórean headcanon involving OCs.

The basic underlying headcanon is that Númenor’s patriarchy becomes increasingly oppressive in its later years, and this pervades Númenórean academia, leading to some unlikely bonds between a group of female academics in Armenelos. @elwing, @kareenvorbarra, @houseofhaleth, @heckofabecca, a friend who left Tumblr, and I collaborated on it. One who wasn’t inspired by any of us, though, was Azruphel, a King’s Men partisan who becomes gradually disaffected with her party and in the end, secretly defects to the Faithful, covers for the others, and manages to escape with them.

I wrote several fics/ficlets involving her (the first is here), but my favourite is probably the last, about the interplay of language and trauma after the Downfall. It was written nearly eight years ago (!!), but I’m still fond of it.

How did you get/make it?

So first I went and made a new page on my blog and had that open and in html mode, and then I used this page: http://post-theory.com/tumblr-tag-cloud-javascript and c+p the generated script into the blank page, and there it was!  I was impressed at how easy it was.  ...and then made faces at my tags because like half of them are just reactions and I’m really repetitive and ugh.  But it gives me a starting point for when I do put together an actual tags page.  Or tag pages.  Tolkien tagging is probably going to need a whole page to itself :\
