Camp Lucy

Hey Ladies and Gents! 

I hope the crazy and wild ride that is 2020 is, is keeping all of you as safe as possible. This year has certainly changed things for myself as I’m sure it has for y’all. I graduated from college and instead of walking across a stage and turning a tassel I can have a slide in a public slideshow that is posted on YouTube (I passed on this). I was also supposed to go to The Stadium Tour which has now been postponed to 2021 and I had planned a week long trip to Cozumel to celebrate 1 year with the most amazing man (which as you guessed got canceled) thanks COVID. This being said we still wanted to try and find something that we could do to make this moment special for both of us and escape all the crazy of 2020 for a little while. After lots of searching and researching I found Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs TX. 

This beautiful hotel and wedding venue is way out in the hill country of Texas and y’all I couldn't have been more impressed. As someone who is constantly let down due to the difference between hotel pictures and reality it was beyond what I ever could've imagined.  

The staff was amazing in every aspect from making sure to provide us with up to date info regarding COVID regulations to still keeping the environment warm and welcoming. 

The room was spectacular and was so nice and cold which is important in escaping the Texas heat. It was 105 outside when we checked in. We got to Camp Lucy about 2 hours before check-in, the staff let us do a soft check-in which let us go spend some time by the pool and swim up bar. When our room was ready a staff member didn’t call and make us walk back to the front but rather walked our key out to us. How amazing are they?

This is our room. It was absolutely beautiful. Ignore the suitcases, obviously those belong to us.

This was the view from our patio. Aside from a very large spider that was crawling across the railing of the patio that scared the SHIT out of me it was breathtaking. I spent the morning out there watching the sunrise.

This is some of the amazing and picturesque views we encountered as we drove out there and to dinner that night. More info to come on our food while we were there!

Expectation vs. Reality 

12/10 The pictures do not even begin to capture the tranquility and beauty of Camp Lucy.

Amenities

7/10 If I’m brutally honest the pool is great but its not anything special, mostly cause this isn’t the focus of the location.  

Cleanliness 

10/10 Everything was clean, vacuumed and smelled like laundry detergent! There was no moment of “Ew, I’m just gonna avoid that area.” 

Staff

They were polite, helpful, and friendly. 

Price

$$$ - Its definitely on the pricier side of hotel accommodations but it is worth it for sure. Right now prices are a little lower just due to COVID putting a damper on business. 

All in all I would absolutely reccomend Camp Lucy to everyone. Thank you to everyone who helped us while we were there. We can’t wait to visit again!
