This is actually making me sad :( I know gacha are bad but every Dragon Quest mobile game has failed overseas (HoshiDora, Dai no Daibouken, and now Tact) meaning there’s no way they’re going to try this again and, worriedly, Square might hold back on trying to release any Dragon Quest game overseas considering how Infinity Strash was a complete failure and the new Monsters game underperformed.

"Legendary Martial Art Master" Jackie Chan Appears in Smartphone RPG "Hoshi no Dragon Quest" CMs

To celebrate over 17 million downloads of its smartphone RPG Hoshi no Dragon Quest and to promote a new "Giga Thanks Festival" campaign for it, Square Enix starts airing two new CMs featuring internationally famous Chinese action star Jackie Chan in Japan from today.

  As a "legendary martial art master," 64-year-old Chan shows his dynamic kung fu moves using the game's weapons, such as Golden Dragon's Nails and Rubiss' Fan, in the world of the game. 77-year-old Hiroya Ishimaru, who has voiced Chan in Japanese dub since the late-1970s, serves as narrator.

  As part of Square Enix's long-running Dragon Quest game series, Hoshi no Dragon Quest, HoshiDora for short, started its service for iOS and Android on October 15, 2015.

Knight aberrant

A summon bonus card from the first wave. Max class: 5 stars. For warrior jobs. Tomahawk: Uses 3 fire elements for a single target attack.

Cyclown

A summon bonus card from the first wave. Max class: 5 stars. For mage jobs. Woosh: Uses 3 wind elements for a single target attack.

Kandar

A summon bonus card from the second wave. Max class: 5 stars. For monk jobs. Muscle Dance: Uses 3 earth elements for a single target attack.

Liquid metal slime

A summon bonus card from the second wave. Max class: 5 stars. For mage jobs. Boom: Uses 4 darkness elements to attack all enemies. Multihit and extra high offense.

Dragon Lord

Tradable in exchange for materials won in multiplayer, from fighting the Dragon Lord. Max class: 5 stars. This is the monk variant but there is one for each job group. Frizz Storm: Uses 6* fire elements to attack a single or multiple targets (damage is split among the number of enemies). (*5 once it reaches 4 stars and above.)

Do you know what dq9 outfits were released in dragon quest of the stars/hoshidora? I was waiting for the dq9 event in the worldwide version and then it shut down and I've been wondering what it would be ever since 😭

To answer your questuon, yes! There are quite a few! First, the normal unlockables though the permanent dq7-9 event:

Nine (changes depending on the gender/type of your character to reflect the two default characters!)

Nine ⭐ (Same, but a bit more fancy. Notice the subtle glow up in the wings 👀)

Stella

Aquila (the outfit is only for men, but you can equip his halo regardless of your gender and hairstyle)

Pavo (only for women)

Thats it for the basic unlockable outfits.

Then there are gacha items, most of which I do not have. These two sets plus a few additional weapons like the ones pictured in the pics above:

Next is play rewards! They added Patty's outfit for cummulative minimedal rewards. Dress is 6k, Wig is 7k total. (I got 4.1k at the moment, so I cannot properly showcase it)

And lastly: a reward for cummulative Fiend minimedals: Bottoms is 1k, Top is 2k, Head is 3k, and wings are 5K... These belong to.......

Corvus! (notes: the model is slightly different depending on gender; and the head makes you whole body turn green even when not using this set)

There are also some other Stella variants based on her DQ8 remake cameo but I do not have them. They are the same Stella dress but in different colors and with some light glow effect.

I don't think Erinn made it in, sadly.

I think this is all the DQ9 outfits in the game, I hope I'm not forgetting any 🤔😅
