Hello, Quill! I have come back in a personal way to say hello and to try and catch up a bit.

How are you? I know you took a 3 hour test in Spanish. What was it for? Did you do well?

I hope that you know that I also enjoy Sotam, and that I believe there is a criminal lack of content for them. In fact, I might write a fanfic myself about them.

In other news, I have made a fun comparison between my gender and a platypus. It’s not a dragon, but I think it is funny.

Hello to you, too! I promise I'm not ignoring your other asks, all my asks got but on the back burner while I did irl things. but I hope you're doing well, too!

I am. existing. I've just got multiple atypical things this week that all happened to be really close together, and I'll get through it but it's certainly going to be something. One of those things was that 3 hour Spanish test yesterday (it was apparently only supposed to be 2 hours max, but I had some tech issues and also am not fluent and also haven't taken a spanish class in over a year so. I was a little slow). It was a biliteracy test, to see if my language proficiency is enough to give me a bilingual seal on my diploma. No clue what the scoring is or how I did, so I guess we'll find out at some unspecified point in the future!

But you're right, there is a criminal lack of all forms of sotam--I may be biased because Tam is my favorite character, but he and Sophie together are such a fun dynamic! In any regard! I love writing them and hope to do more at some point (though I promise i haven't forgotten all the dialogue prompts!). If you write a fanfic about them, I'd love to read it! Though if you posted it and let me know that could mess up your anonymity...hmm. Well that comes first, but just know I would read it if I could if it existed :)

Congrats on the platypus gender! that's certainly an unusual descriptor, which of course means I adore it. love oddities and nonconformities and contradictions and otherwise nonsensical things like that, and playtpus compared gender I think fits in with all those. it's always interesting trying to explain gender and how it applies to you (if it does), so I'm glad you're got a fun one you like!

nanowrimo 2: 2023: it’s so over

i finished yesterday at 4 pm. just about 50,542 words. kind of a slay. debrief under the cut

this was my second year and i split it between one main project (new novel idea) and a few other fics, and 35k words went to the new project!!! so a pretty good chunk which i am pleased with

so let's see. this year vs last year. last year's piece was a novel i'd literally been working on for like 7 years with countless notes and outlines. this year i was violently pantsing it. i truly just had a setting, vague plot, and a vibe and went with it. this is SOOOO different from how i usually write and it was scary at first (i didn't have anyone's name!! i set the piece in the 1920s and did 0 minutes of research before starting!!!) but ultimately a lot of fun because i could go Fuck It and go ham on the keyboard. this doesn't really work in terms of pacing but that's fine because i have the start, now I can reverse engineer the plot and figure out what the hell is actually going on. which i will do. later

last year was harder because... it's hard doing anything for the very first time and I cared a lot about that story. because this one was so new i had no preconceived notions about how the characters should sound or how close the narrative should be. but honestly it turned out more consistently than i thought it would! whereas last year i would get stuck trying to find "the right words" this year i knew that the right words were the one on the page

i am a very average if not slow typer, about 37ish words a minute, which means 1667 words can be typed in roughly 45 minutes (uninterrupted) which! i did not do. instead i set timers for 20-25 minutes and wrote during that then took a break, which at that point is basically just the pomodoro method. which like. yeah! i was most successful when i had two sessions of writing a day

last year my whole body hurt after finishing but i was writing like 2200 words a day so like. yeah. this year towards the end i was really feeling it in my wrists and fingers. my fingies still hort ): maybe next year I'll find out how to do this with less pain

so many people are so intimidated by NaNoWriMo which like. yes. but i think everyone who doesn't write thinks 1667 words requires 6 hours straight which it. typically does not! though everyone is different and has a different method. also yes if i had to think more about what i was typing of course i'd be slower. that's not the point of nanowrimo though

this whole post is probably around 500 words which is basically already 1/3 the daily word count. if you're a writer or artist who has never done nanowrimo before i really recommend it! i think some of the critiques are valid but i find it reallyy helpful, and i definitely feel 50,000 words a better writer :) oh and also this year i went to in person events in my neighborhood and it was great, everyone was super sweet and supportive!!!!

so yeah i had a lot of fun and i'll def be back next year!!!!!!!!

so i watched the School for Good and Evil

ya’ll should know that i’ve never once touched the books, i am going into this blind and just wanna see how the movie does, as a prolific movie watcher and just that

right off the bat, i see we got JESPER FROM SHADOW AND BONE I LOVE THIS DUDE;

so they’re brothers, vv cool, oh is the Red one the evil one? yep i was right

it’s weird bc they’re brothers played by the same guy yet he just has great chemistry with himself

also, the mood just flipped from 0 to a 100 real quick, what just happened

i feel like they should’ve shown us them being brotherly and having arguments and maybe see Rafal slowly get angrier at his side always losing, bc really there was no way to see it coming. i could’ve done with a quick montage of them running the school and him growing angrier

The RHS visit Monday went very well. The 25 guests said they loved the garden and M. brought out the wine at the end of the visit. One of the visitors was able to tell me the name of this stunning lavender that we have growing, Lavandula dentata 'Rosea', evidently a naturally occurring phenomenon. I will try to propagate a lot more of them.

One of my sage plants started blooming; I can’t for the life of me find the name of it though. I think it is a California or Mexican Salvia.

Sternbergia lutea started blooming this week. That seems to have happened very suddenly. I had to question whether they are Crocus or Sternbergia.

Saturday, Mme invited SJ and me to join her to the Roure Arboretum up in the hills. We drove through a few cute little villages on the way and stopped for a quick coffee and croissant. It is a smallish arboretum and the two employees we met are very enthusiastic. There is also art installed throughout.

Sunday I met up with Mandy and Callum to do a practice run for a charity 10K I’ll be running in October around Cap d’Antibes. It was a glorious day.

I then met up with Ilze for lunch in Antibes. It was an all around good weekend.

The Dawn of the Witch TV Anime Starts Casting Its Magic on April 7

A press release for the upcoming The Dawn of the Witch anime announced today the series will begin its broadcast on April 7 and released a brand new key visual to coincide with the announcement as well as more cast members for the upcoming series from Tezuka Productions.

qfg reaction: 7/10 not as bad as i thought it would be but not ... particularly good either

characters: first off, ‘jasper’ or whatever the fuck his name is, is a punk ass bitch. i’ve only known him for a few hours but if anything happened to him i would be extremely pleased. Lady of The Lake kissed him??? sounds fake as shit but mkay.

as for rhian,,,,, yeah okay rhian was a good twist villain, i thought he was hella bland as a support character. he and tedros played off each other well. (and dammit soman stop making them siblings to avoid shipping material)

i loved Nicola. That scene where she told off sophie made me happy and i usually like sophie but yes i was rooting for her. RIP chaddick and lancelot you were good conceptually. Forgot everyone else.

except hort. i fucking hated hort in this one. who would want a hort?

Also, the tlea ending for Sophie was so satisfying. i feel like soman was trying to dismantle that bc he can’t just have one character arc that makes sense. or maybe he thought she was boring bc she was happy being on her own and he can’t stand the thought of one person not being paired up. or bc sophie is a self insert. or maybe-

lots of developed arcs got tossed away to create more drama. am not a fan. 0/10 do better.

relationships: i didn’t like tedros/agatha that much and this book didn’t convince me very much. the scene after tedros and sophie ‘break up’ in tlea pushed me over the edge but yeah. not very much in this one.

the letter sophie sends to agatha where she calls herself ‘silly old me’ is exactly the content i wanted. love is stored in agatha realizing the importance of platonic relationships. their reunion was cute, if not for hort grumbling darkly about hating agatha for hugging her SISTER even though i thought they established a friendship last time.

i was getting behind the idea of them as sisters until they smiled knowingly at each other during that weak hester/anadil bonfire scene. like. wtf was that? why knowingly? because they were girls in love too, but actually not???? whomst??

tbh some of the hicola scenes were cute but i still don’t like hort. give me back comic relief hort.

ALSO: if i see anyone shipping dot and kei i will combust on the spot i know abt the rafal/dot stuff and i’m just gonna stay in my tiny corner of the fandom, why you guys gotta be like... that. (keian is ok but it has to be done right. that being said please send me your fic recs)

plot: got weird sometimes, too slow paced and too fast at times. kinda confusing but i’ve never super smart and analytical anyways so maybe it’s just me. personally the first one is my favorite because of all the twists but they just got kind of tiring to me in this one.

soman seemed eager to hop from mystery to political drama to romantic drama to magical fantasy to old fairy tale centric quests and it really lost me eventually.

i didn’t get the lion eagle snake story but i don’t think many people did anyways. all in all, it was fun at times, but i’ll never take it as seriously as the school years.

Markets are gapping up this morning with the exception of IWM which is hovering around Break-Even QQQ is leading the way to the upside up almost 1%

Vix.x -4.52% crude +1% and TLT -1/3%

This is a positive pre-market bias

The big news today is the transition takes place with Trump gone and Biden in

For a country that prides itself on the peaceful transition of power 40,000+ troops in DC and the city locked uptight is not a good sign

If I had to guess, there will be no major violence but a few peace full demonstrations scattered across the country. Let’s see how close I get

It appears the markets are looking at it this way also

So, I do not think there is a political risk today in the markets. What I do think is the Biden administration policies are going to set the tone for the markets in the first 100 days.

Watch closely what shifts and reversals there are as this will affect many areas of the market.

The heading back into the Paris Climate accord is going to take a big toll on the economy.

It’s one thing to have a large national debt when GDP is growing with new jobs being created and another when the GDP is in decline.

America cannot afford a reversal in the GDP gains of the last 4 years. It will likely lead to some very bad economic conditions in the US if the drain on the GDP is as large as I think it will be

The U.S. was well-positioned after 4 years as one of the world’s biggest oil exporters. This alone would be a safety valve to the growing national debt. Take that away and there are no safety valves.

If the Biden administration goes after the fossil fuel industry America is in big trouble economically.

But all this is what if:) All one can do is watch and react with your investment strategy

One stock I am watching to short is Twitter

I would be looking to short at a 50% retracement if we get it

If you are aggressive you could trade at the retracement back to the 10 day MA

My guess is by the end of the year the stock will break the 200 day MA convincingly. The stock is overvalued as it is. But with the decisions, it made this election season its name brand among half of America has gone to 0.

Considering there are many other alternative sites if you are a social media poster, I do not see twitter a good investment

This is probably the best long term trade I can see right now in the markets. But the fall has been swift and a sell on a rebound would be a conservative way to approach the trade

There are other opportunities like this. But this one is the most obvious

Facebook is another although it’s not as obvious as Twitter at least from a logical standpoint.

But it just touched the 200 day MA a few days ago and is bouncing off it now. This is another stock to watch to short for a longer-term hold

Let me add one thing as to the capital violence we saw on the 6th. Violence is never the answer. Violence begets more violence.

The entire foundation of society is peaceful protests if you disagree with something. Or get out and vote. This idea that violence is going to change anything is plain wrong. All it does is make things much worse.

From an investing standpoint, widespread violence causes havoc on the markets. Not only from the violence itself but the reaction to the violence, as we will soon see.

Looking over my short put and call sales this morning, all look fine. Not much to manage right now. I am scouring for more income trades as those right now are solid income producers while we are doing our other trading.

Mean reversion right now is not in play as the markets are not oversold.

We are at a place today where we have a number of longer-term income trades, no mean reversion trades, and a handful of short put and short call trades,

Tomorrow is short put sale day:) I will be scanning for candidates after the close today. These have been as solid as you will find in a trading method.

We are up to 251 trades with 234 winners and 17 losers.

That is a 93.23% win rate and a profit factor of 4.67.

These are only the short put trades made on Thursday for the 2-day hold.

The results for the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET 2020) have been declared on the official website on Saturday, October 10. Those aspirants who have made the cut will soon be eligible to apply for the counselling process. The results are announced on the official website at sche.ap.gov.in.

Here are a few things that one should keep in mind for the AP EAMCET 2020 counselling process:

The AP EAMCET counselling 2020, will be held only in online mode. Only those aspirants who qualify in the entrance exam will be eligible for the AP EAMCET 2020 counselling process.

Those candidates who make the cut will also have to ensure that they make online payment of counselling fees, registration for counselling, document verification at designated reporting centres, choice filling and locking and allotment of seats.

The AP EAMCET 2020 seat allotment will be done only on the basis of marks that a candidate is able to score in AP EAMCET through the counselling process.

Once the process of seat allotment for AP EAMCET 2020 is done, the selected candidates will have to report to the institute that is allotted to them. Those who fail to report, their admission will be cancelled.

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test 2020 was conducted from September 17 to September 23. The exam was carried out in two shifts, the first one was from 9 AM and to 12 PM and the second one was from 3 PM and to 6 PM.

The number of slots for AP EAMCET 2020 had been increased by the authorities in view of the novel coronavirus. Along with this apt measures like thorough sanitation of the exam centre, checking temperature of each person through contactless thermometer was also ensured.

After clearing the entrance examintion, candidates can take admission in various courses offered by the universities and institutions in the State. The courses offered are as follows : B. Flowers or Garlic Bolt

When first time look at the narcissus, you must get confused between it and garlic bolt, which really share some same characteristics as similar height, similar leaves and similar root. But after some research, you may find some differences between them.

China have cultivated narcissus in the tang dynasty for more than 1300 years. It is loved by many people and is one of the top ten famous flowers in China. Wild narcissus are distributed in the southeast coastal areas of China. They are most famous in Chongming district of Shanghai and Zhangzhou of Fujian. Hundreds of years ago, narcissus were also produced in Suzhou, Jiading and other places. Its aliases are Chinese narcissus, Ling Bo fairy and so on. In addition to the common white narcissus, there is a yellow species called trumpet narcissus. Narcissus have a long history of cultivation in Europe. Since the 1830s, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom and other countries on the narcissus breeding and variety improvement has done a lot of work, the current cultivated varieties have reached 26,000, there are new varieties born every year. The cultivation of narcissus in China began in the late 19th century.

The differences are also intuitive. Narcissuses have small, white flowers and yellow flower core, the fragrance of them are faint scent of quietly elegant. Their root is shaped like an onion but is white. The leaves of them are flat. Garlic is a clove and is used as an accessory in food. Narcissuses are always grown in the water with blooming while garlic are always cultivated in the soil, which cannot see the flower but with garlic flavor, the leaves of them are cylinder. Narcissuses can also be made as medicine. Its bulb can be collected in spring and autumn, after washing away the sediment and with boiling water, it can be dried by sun which with small poison. But it has clear heat detoxification, loose knot detumescence and other effect. It can be used for mumps and other pains.
