Happy Hours in the Oak Room at Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort

We might look like JR and Sue Ellen Ewing, circa 1981, in this photo - but we’re not in Dallas. No, we’re here at Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort for their world-famous BBQ Bootcamp! And, my oh my, does it really feel like a camp. See, going to Alisal is like going back in time in the best possible of ways. The air is crisp and fresh. There are morning horseback rides to breakfast. No televisions or phones in the rooms to distract you and take you out of the present. The men are required to wear jackets to dinner, usually...well, not for BBQ Bootcamp dinners, of course. There are happy hours in the Oak Room, sipping cognac by the fireplace while Bill the piano player (of 50 years here at Alisal) plays the standards. Perhaps, that all explains why you’ll never have a more peaceful night’s sleep than you will here on the ranch. It’s just a time machine that transports you back to a simpler time while creating an atmosphere that makes it impossible not to leave with new friends formed and new bonds forged. There is truly no place like Alisal and I am so deeply honored to get to be part of this family of friends for the 8th #BBQBootcamp this year. I’m the lucky one.
