god i replayed book 3 a few weeks ago and my reaction to that part was near identical 😭 usually im like. SURELY gustav cant be THAT bad in canon like i remember. surely my brain is exaggerating. and then i open b3 and get suckerpunched with the way he talks to his children

I go back into Book 3. Wondering if maybe. MAYBE. He wasn't As Fucking Bad as I remembered. That maybe, he was just a run of the mill emotionally constipated dad who doesn't know how to handle Situations. That maybe he, due to trauma, just handled the situation uniquely poorly and MAYBE. been thinking about star wars a weird amount today so i must clarify for the new folks in the crowd. i am a fan of it against my will. i inherited it like a familial curse. my mom is really really really into it and i grew up with it and KOTOR was the first game i ever played and i would be nowhere near as into it otherwise. star trek is a far more natural interest of mine than i feel star wars ever will be. still love it to bits though

once again thinking of that insanely whitewashed stormlight fancast that had that one promotional headshot of house thats on all the shitposts and had that as the headshot for sadeas. which i guess means hugh laurie would do the american accent for sadeas? american accent sadeas is almost as difficult to reckon with as white sadeas. yknow, once you account for the huge gap that one being actual literal whitewashing and the other just being a jarring voice choice
