*slams door back open and comes back into the room*
Ok you know what, no
You know what also doesn't make sense?? People are translating or clarifying the offer katsuki made and saying he was asking Izuku to be a SIDEKICK, and not open/partner at an agency.
But you know what, that doesn't really make sense either!
Bc they're also saying that in the MHA universe, sidekicks do not get hero ranked. And in the case of being katsukis sidekick, Izuku would be working under Katsuki.
So hold up!
You mean to tell me that Katsuki, who wanted to compete with Izuku, and race him to the top, who has long, LONG since gotten over his desire to put Izuku in his place/lord over him/boss him around,
You mean to tell me he wanted Izuku to be his SIDEKICK?
How can they compete like that?
Why would he want Izuku in a position where he couldn't compete on an equal ground? That was what he always wanted and worked for.
I'm just saying it's fucking weird that thats what katsuki asked for, because that's not what Katsuki has been trying to work for.
Isn't Katsuki wanting him to be a sidekick under him kind of defeating the purpose of his development, of the whole 8 hear process he went through to get Izuku back out into the field? Is this not inconsistent?

I like to think that pre canon both AFO and Izuku visited the same online forums where people came together to discuss quirks and often debated with each other about pro hero quirks lol. Their first conversation ever was arguing over aspects of All Mights quirk because AFO said something insulting about him.
Izuku finds AFO abrasive, but creates some of the most fascinating analysis he's ever read that he wonders if AFO is some kind of quirk counselor or doctor who specializes in studying quirks in real life.
AFO finds it refreshing to see someone share the same enthusiasm about quirks like he does and enjoys reading and challenging Izuku's own theories at times.
I wouldn't call it friendship.... but more like two people finding common ground in sharing a hobby that almost no one else cares for.

alright I’m bored so here’s my extremely optimistic crack theory: assuming katsuki seeing a vestige means we’ll see him in the vestige realm, when kudo sorted through izuku’s memories he put his forehead on the wall right??
what if izuku is having a crisis about being left quirkless again and vestige katsuki needs to touch foreheads with izuku to show him all his memories of izuku being heroic without a quirk and he tells him “you never needed a quirk. you were always a hero” or something like that because it’s what izuku always needed to hear

All For One should have stayed on the sidelines as a character after Kamino. His evolvement in everything after that significantly weakens the story. Building up Tomura as his protégé, framing him as the next symbol of evil, and then pulling the rug under everyone’s feet, is the worst writing decision Hori has ever made. In concept, All For One failing at passing the torch to Tomura is good, because it directly  parallels All Might and his mentorship to Izuku. Unlike All For One, Toshinori was aware the younger generation needed to take up the mantle. All For One is a selfish and controlling person, it makes perfect sense for him to be unable to give up his power to someone else. But in execution it falls apart the moment All For One continues to force himself upon the narrative, continues to serve as the big bad. All For One’s inability to pass the torch and Tomura as a main antagonist can co-exist without weakening the themes of the story.
Like, imagine how cool it would have been if All for One was destroyed by Tomura after he tried taking control over his body and mind. Tomura realizes his master is holding him back from achieving his full potential and his goal, the thing he literally lives and fights for. Triumph over his master would be Tomura’s final step to becoming the new symbol of evil and his self-liberation. Then, he would truly be free of everything holding him back. AFO, the puppeteer, the man always one step ahead of everyone else, would be conquered by the very same person he molded – he planted the seed, but at last, what grows is out of his control. In a sense, he would be punished by the story for failing at passing the torch and Tomura would be cemented as the final antagonist, and his journey would feel satisfying.
All though, I see why Horikoshi didn’t write it like that – cause that would require giving Tomura actual autonomy as a character. Something he actively avoids doing every chance he gets. It’s easier to have a character who is crafted to be evil by one powerful bad man before he was even born, than to portray an abused child failed by a fundamentally corrupt society that values consumerism over actually helping those in need, who ended up in the hands of the powerful bad man because the child slipped through the cracks of said society. MHA conveys to the viewer that there are no bad systems, only bad people within the established systems.
Tomura couldn’t own his conception, nor his heroic goals, not even his abuse. Nothing ever happened to him because of society as a whole or because life is cruel and merciless. It happened because Anime-Satan said so.

You know, the loV stans complaining about shig and dabi and toga's ending is a tragedy "poor meow meow" and with a rare dose of people not blaming Izu (it's rare super rare) but forget how....they didn't want to be saved, Ochako, Izu and maybe Shoto(through I think Shoto's case makes a bit more sense) were on a fool's mission.
Izu suffered, suffered, suffered for absolutely nothing.
He didn't saved Shig.
Shiga and Izu don't know each other...it's almost laughable how they are strangers really
Izu get nothing. Monoma gets a statue (not a hater, but come on! Why he get a state and Izu not even a thanks, oh sure lil kids thank him once in a full moon)
Izu has no friends.
And the likelihood of bk being the #1 is still a thing.
Bk won
Izu, the mc, the underdog lost.
If the mc can't have a good ending. Why the fuck the LoV stans thought shig and dabi would have a happy ending?
Just mad...not with the story, but with the fans.
MHA is a shitty story ...with a fandom which has no media literacy
Hi @mikeellee 👋
It's hilarious how underdeveloped the dynamic between Izuku and shigaraki is it's almost like horikoshi forgot about them and then tried to do something to try and fix that in the last war arc by using the whole memeoru sharing thing that mainly shared Shigaraki's memories and barely none of izuku's. The two characters haven't interacted enough to even understand eachother and izuku is still stuck in chapter one (Izuku doesn't actually develop he is an incredibly static character) so how do you expect a static character to save another when izuku can't even save himself?!?!
Iam incredibly critical of both shigaraki and izuku and at least shoto and Dabi or toga and ochako were given slightly more justice than what the main duo was given.
However, even when it comes to the other characters the villains weren't given proper arcs to be saved. I have touched on that aspect a lot on other asks but its incredib easy to make them tragic characters who end up proving a point or characters who end up becoming redeemed but they also need to be properly humanised and developed.
Iam not trying to say that the only characters that can be saved are those who are perfect victims but Iam saying that it's quite difficult to save a character who says they will continue to harm/kill or destroy even after being given another chance.
In the end everyone who isn't bakugo got a bad ending.

Teacher Deku Headcanons (Part One?)
+ On his first day of being a teacher, he was an hour early (he hung out with All Might and they caught up with one another until the students arrived - All Might is now just a substitute teacher due to his declining health and old age).
+ He still collects All Might merch, but now he has a storage shed filled with merch of all his old classmates (he does give some merch away to his students because his shed is always overflowing - he does a raffle for it after every exam and whomever wins gets to choose one merch item they want from a pile he brings).
+ He is really awkward with his female students, but overall he is very accepting and will even stand up for his disabled/LGBT students if they get harassed by anyone (he was very ignorant as a teenager but after the war he became far more open-minded especially after he talked with Bakugou and they both confessed their feelings right after the war ended).
+ He is married to Bakugou, making both the first Pro Heroes to be openly homosexual and advocating for LGBT rights (his old friends are advocates too but not as much - Ochako and Shoji's advocacy often interest with LGBT advocacy/rights so they face it more often).
+ Him and Aizawa are really close teacher friends, often hanging out and talking about their students and/or the war (Deku still has severe PTSD an Aizawa helps him through it - literally the only time Deku ever confronts what he went through and how he's currently dealing with it now).
+ He is writing a novel series about his journey into becoming the 'greatest hero', hoping that one day it will help someone else like how All Might did for him (basically an in-universe version of the manga but if it really was written by Deku).
+ He's still very self-conscious about his scars, they remind him of the war and everything he went through (Bakugou often comforts him by kissing his scars at night and Deku does the same for him).
+ He NEVER gets sick, but he is always tired from his work as a teacher (basically Aizawa except he runs on caffeine and hope 24/7 - he only gets sleep when Bakugou forces him to, and he takes sleep meds as he gets nightmares often).
+ He told the secret of quirks to Hawks, jump-starting the first true advancements into understanding what quirks truly are (mostly in honor of Tenko/Tomura and his sacrifice - Hawks uses this information to hopefully figure out a way to take away 'dangerous' and/or debilitating quirks that inhibit one's daily life).
+ When he gets his Iron Deku suit, he still mostly focuses on being a teacher and is a Pro Hero as a 'side hobby' (he still is glad he can be a hero but it's been 8 years since the war and 5 since he lost OFA so he's content as a teacher - being a Pro Hero is just a bonus for him now).
+ He often visits Inko for dinner, the two talking about his job and how things are going (she fully supports him and Bakugou being a married couple, though she still worries about things because she's still Deku's mom).

well....thank you for answering my Natsuo answer, I do love Natsuo appreciation that's for sure but could have avoided the Shoto part 😭 my baby isn't insufferable he was hurting! I could never fault him for not wanting to hear about his father after all the pain his father caused! Though yeah I would have loved to also see what Enji was like in highschool so.......😅 guess I could feel a lil disgruntled but I'm aiming it at Hori, he teased us with a glimpse during the AFO VS Enji fight but went no further!
Nah, don't worry, I love Shoto. He's lovely, I'm just over exaggerating. I've never disliked Shoto at all, I just think the show is a bit of a drag until season four sometimes
Tumblr media
He's lovely, I squish his little face. Stories that include him are always more entertaining. Like the second Team-up Missions book. I love it, I love him. He looks so cute all the time, especially when he's eating. He's more complicated than people make him out to be and deserves to be properly represented. I've got two t-shirts with the boy on it, he's such good character design.
I'm so autistic for the Todorokis.

Since it's a known fact that Hori wants to make a horror manga and... with what BNHA showed us, I highly doubt it's going to be any of good quality.
That and the fact that the Horror genre seems too out of his league in terms of writing skills.
Horror can sometimes be a bit tricky to pull off, as it requires a LOT of care and thought to be put into. And the thing is it's more than just gore and seeing people die in horrific ways, as it can even show us the mind of the mentally messed up and the horrors of reality.
Something I don't think Hori is equipped of tackling. Since he refused to kill off any characters, rectify consequences to where it was completely pointless of adding. And the... sexualization. In all honestly, it's probably gonna be that one meme of on today's episode of the writer's barely disguised fetish.
Hi @theloganator101 👋
So I have heard that horikoshi intends on making a horror manga and I have no plans on properly following or reading it.
Iam going to be honest Iam not much of a horror reader so I really don't know much about the horror genre when it comes to manga or how the manga industry treats the horror genre.
Realistically, I do very much think that horikoshi is an amazing artist and that if he were to draw a horror manga it would be incredibly detailed ( we've already seen this from some manga panels or pages of MHA just how well horikoshi can draw)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when it comes to the actual substance of the story I don't have much hope considering what happend to MHA. Relying on simply art and body horror isn't a great way to have a plot of a horror manga center around. There are many different types of things they horikoshi can depict in a horror manga, take for example twice and what happend to him (his clones all killing eachother and going wild) and how such an event can cause someone to go down the path of insanity because the fear that he isn't him and that there's no way to differentiate himself always festers on. You can also show the psychological trauma that a character has to a particular event or depict things like intrusive thoughts and such in a horrific way.
I agree horikoshi does have a sexualisation problem when it comes to his female characters and its honestly disgusting like there was no need to draw toruu in a manga cover like that or to show miriko all bloodied up and across the floor in the manner that he did. It's disgusting and I haven't even mentioned the other things he did so I do hope that he doesn't do that when it comes to the horror manga.
So yeah there's potential when it comes to the horror manga but I am not sure how his manga would go if the writing quality doesn't change

"This is my will" if we go by a literal translation. Which I have to ask...is it? Bc the whole "I shall steal your body" puts a huge interrogarion mark on Shig's actions.
It only takes from Shig....and this doesnt enhancer the story at all.

Touya apologizing to Shoto? Touya-nii would never.
All jokes aside I’m running back to the Touya-nii universe after this ending because I am… not a fan of it. 🙃 I thought I had prepared myself mentally for whatever Hori had in store but now that I’m seeing it for myself I just feel even more angry for Touya. It doesn’t feel like justice for him.
HAHAHA literally exactly what i said too, yes!!!!! he’s shouting weaaaaak! at canon touya, and while his voice is strong and harsh and stone cold, his eyes are glazed with the thinnest layer of tears—so thin you can only see them when the light catches on his eyes juuust right.
no i completely agree. i talked about it a little bit here but yeah, i’m really upset with the way everything is being handled. it just feels so insanely disrespectful. i could write you a whole essay on how upset i am and why i’m so upset but i am just so tired of talking about it LMAO ugh ._. well, at least we got shaggy-haired touya :( who looks exactly like my touya-nii does :( if nothing else, that’s one positive from this chapter!!

“Izuku’s friends don’t care about his feelings they keep brushing him off” well the only two people he tried to talk to were the two who were also going through a Lot instead of his friends who weren’t as upset or stressed out like Iida and Tsu.so.

wow, you really realise that you don't give a single fuck about a series anymore when they bring a character who has been "dead" for over a year back to life and you couldn't care less

Guys, please don't waste your time sending me BNHA-related ask if they're not about Hawks or the Todoroki family drama 😅 That's literally all I care about now when it comes to BNHA. I'm no longer interested in the main plot or the story as a whole. I'm only interested in a few characters and their plotlines. When they've finally done; I'm dropping the manga.

Holy shit, Horikoshi's art is outstanding. Really, really love the horror vibes this has, especially Shigaraki. These designs go hard af.
Hori literally serving up so many hard drawings after BNHA ending, like did we only get crumbs the whole time 😭😂
