Note
True, same for Hopip. Maybe doing it inside during the colder months would be a good way for enrichment. Or well I’ve never understood just how much wind it could take for a hopip to fly. Like minimum.
Exceedingly little. Being blown about by the wind is actually part of their reproductive cycle, allowing them to move and spread their genes to new areas. As a result, they can be blown about by even the lightest of breezes.
I suspect you could launch one by blowing on it hard enough, but I have not tested this for obvious reasons.

I don’t have anything finished right now so have some old concept art for some sticker designs.
I also made some test stickers that are really small for the hopip design.

Pokémon X Chapter 10: (Slowly) Moving Onwards
Alright, back to the plot now.
I bring the Poké Flute to the guys on the bridge, who use it to wake up the Snorlax...who is angry. So I catch it and name it "Hrnk" (because...snoring noises I guess?).
The rich guy then shows up...and surprisingly, gives the flute to the guy who knows how to play it. It was a bit awkward.
Tumblr media
With that resolved, I continue over the bridge and find Tierno and Trevor, who bring me along while they check out the Pokémon Day Care that is right there. I decide not to leave any pokémon there for now.
Po then beats up a horde of hoppip. I'd hoped to catch one, but Po is too powerful and knocks it out instead :( Batman levels up and replaces Quick Attack with Razor Wind (going to try this move out, I haven't really used it before). On the next encounter, I catch a ducklett who I name "Vob", followed by a roselia who I name "Cornelius". I then find an eventually catch a smeargle, who I name "Monet", and then an illumise who I name "Tenmillion" (because it's a firefly). I then catch a swirlix (not a pokémon I've really used before) and name it "Fluffball".
After a few more encounters, I finally find another horde of hopip. In order to avoid the mistakes I made last time, I switch immediately to Glamdring so that I can have False Swipe handy. A short time later, I finally catch a hopip and name it "Jimsly".
A few encounters later, I keep moving down the path, catching different colored flabébé. I'm starting to run low on pokéballs, but hey, there's got to be a town soon, right?
I catch a volbeat and name it "Serenity" (because firefly pokémon), and then fight Artist Georgia, who's hanging out painting. Her single pokémon, appropriately, is a smeargle. Po wins the battle with a single Arm Thrust (well, technically, two hits because of how the move works).
Looking at the map reveals that Route 7 is quite long and has another area before the next town [EDIT: there's actually a whole other route as well, as it turns out], so I skate back to Camphrier Town to heal up and buy more pokéballs.
Back on Route 7, I run into two more trainers: Mona and Paolo.
Tumblr media
They both send out smeargles. Since the two lead pokémon in my party are Po (a fighting type) and Glamdring (a ghost type), the fight doesn't take long, although one smeargle lands a Pursuit on Glamdring.
I then find the Battle Chateau and decide to go see what it is. Apparently nobility titles are a thing in this game? Except it's sort of merit-based? Viola the Bug Gym leader is there, and she endorses my pokémon battling skills. I get the title of "Baroness" (yay!). This whole thing seems a bit convoluted but a fun way to battle more NPCs. I'll probably come back later, but for now I decide to keep going since the whole idea of this journal entry was to finally progress the plot. I don't know if this is the intended game pacing or I'm just being slow, but I'm almost 20 hours into this save file at this point with only one Gym Badge. Although I am writing these entries largely as I go, so that adds time.
Outside the Battle Chateau, I find Artist Pierre and his smeargle. Like the other Artist fights on this route, it is over quickly since Po knocks the smeargle out in one turn, landing an unneccesary crit.
Tumblr media
I'm guessing this is the first big rival fight.
Tumblr media
Sort of.
A Double Battle ensues. Tierno has a level 16 corphish, while Trevor leads with a level 14 pikachu. On my side, Calem throws out a level 15 fletchling. And I have Po, who's level 23. I think I'm going a bit more slowly the game expects, so my pokémon are pretty powerful for this point in the game since I've spent more time leveling up. I feel like the pikachu is a bigger threat, so Po throws a Comet Punch at it while the fletchling Quick Attacks the corphish. Comet Punch takes out the pikachu, and the corphish throws a Vice Grip at the fletchling. Trevor then sends in a level 14 flabébé, so I decide to aim Comet Punch at the corphish this time. Calem's fletchling Quick Attacks the flabébé, and Po gets hit with a Fairy Wind from the flabébé and a Vice Grip from the corphish. I send another Comet Punch at the corphish to finish it off after the fletchling Quick Attacks it, getting hit again with Fairy Wind from the flabébé. But now it's 2v1, and another Quick Attack hits...and Comet Punch misses. The fletchling gets hit with Fairy Wind but stays in, and it wins the fight on the next turn with yet another Quick Attack. This was kind of just a few moves being spammed, huh.
I then enter the Connecting Cave, apparently known for its zubat population. Instead of finding zubat immediately, I find a trainer.
Tumblr media
Mercy starts with a level 12 ducklett, which Po defeats with a Comet Punch. I realize at this point that Po is a bit low on health, so I swap to Volta to handle the incoming litleo. I heal Po with a Super Potion as Volta gets hit with Leer, and then swap back to Po since I want him to keep getting experience. Po gets hit with an Ember while swapping in, but then hits back with Arm Thrust, knocking the litleo out of the fight. Mercy's next pokémon is an oddish, and I decide to keep Po in. Two turns later, and the oddish is out too. A pikachu is next, which gets oneshot by Slash, and then the fight is over.
Tumblr media
I like to think so.
Tumblr media
Apparently, I went the wrong way somehow. I double back to Route 7 to try to find where to go next.
On the way back, though, I find and catch one of the cave's famous zubat. I name it "Jimbob". Look, I don't even know.
It turns out that there is more to Route 7, so I keep going, fighting wild pokémon along the way. After a bit, I find the other entrance to Connecting Cave and head in. A friendly NPC heals up my team, and I make it to the other side without any issues, encounters, or trainer battles.
Emerging on to Route 8, I find that it's raining. I immediately encounter two NPCs who add the Coastal Kalos Pokédex to my Pokédex. My first Route 8 encounter is a bagon (yay dragon types! have I mentioned that I love dragon types yet?). I name it "Smaug".
Tumblr media
Wait there's rain on the lower screen too - nice touch.
The next encounter is a drifloon who I name "Fantome". I like these guys, so this was a nice find. Rising Star Paulette then challenges me with her axew (another dragon type I particularly like). Since I don't have any fairy, ice, or dragon type moves in my party yet, I decide to stick with Po. Dragon Rage does a lot of damage, however, and I take a turn to prep with Work Up, which leads to Po being knocked out. I send in Volta next, who paralyzes the axew with Nuzzle to hopefully reduce the likelihood of getting hit with another Dragon Rage, followed by an Electro Ball that turns out to be powerful enough to win the fight.
I take a quick trip back to the healing NPC in the cave, and then continue onwards, failing to catch a spoink who I was planning to catch. Po does level up and learn Circle Throw though.
Further down Route 8, I meet Rising Star Rhys. Rhys leads with a pancham, but I have the better one and Po wins in one turn with Arm Thrust. Next, Rhys sends out a goldeen, who manages to confuse Po with a Supersonic. I then switch to Volta, who gets hit by Water Pulse but then wins with Nuzzle. Po comes back out to deal with Rhys's last pokémon, a skiddo, winning the fight with one more Arm Thrust.
I then find an inkay, who I forgot were gen vi pokémon, and name it "Tomato". Right after that, I fight Black Belt Cadoc and his machop. Again, in a fighting-type matchup, Po wins, using Arm Thrust to knock out the machop in two turns. Next, I find another spoink and...accidentally click "Run" while trying to switch to Glamdring. ****. Luckily, it only takes two more encounters before I find another one, which this time I am able to catch. I name it "Bouncy".
After jumping on some rocks in a puzzle that wasn't super-obvious at first, I arrive at Ambrette Town (finally!).
Tumblr media
Apparently you can learn about Fossils here. I do like gen vi's Fossil pokémon, but after healing my team at the Pokémon Center I decide to call it a night here.
Tumblr media
Since I haven't been listing each level up as it occurs, here's a snapshot of my team as I wrap up this entry.
Stay safe everyone, and thanks for reading. See you next time.

I'm replaying pokemon violet. I got a switch lite cause my sister likes to play minecraft on mine. She basically took over.
So I'm playing violet again. This time I chose Sprigato, and I'm focusing on the pokedex right now. I just caught a lechonk, a tarountula and a hopip as my party
