Family vacation
Tumblr media
Y/N: 3 years old Billy and Tommy: 12 years old Wanda: mama Nat: mommy Story: The Maximoff-Romanoff family goes for a family vacation… ——————————————————
WANDA'S POV The boys, Y/N, Nat and I decided to go on a vacation like we did last year. Y/N is now a bit older, so it'll hopefully be a nice family vacation. We headed to Italy this time. Tony got us some really nice little house on the beach for 2 weeks.
We arrived 2 days ago and now we're having breakfast, Y/N's mumbling something to Natasha while the boys are chatting.
"Mommy, no!" Y/N shouts all of a sudden, pushing her plate away. I guess we're done with eating…
"Honey, you haven't eaten anything. 3 more bites, come on" Nat orders, trying to feed the little monkey.
"No!" Y/N shouts again, pushing Nat's hand away.
"Tommy, put the phone down" I sigh, looking at my son who's playing a game on his phone.
"Play" Y/N pouts, crossing her arms.
"Y/N will play after she takes 3 last bites" Nat says, putting her hand with Y/N's pancake back in front of our daughter's mouth.
"Noo" Y/N whines. "Mama!" She cries out.
"Okay" I sigh, standing up. "Tommy, what did I tell you?" I look at him with a raised eyebrow, lifting up my daughter and sitting her on my lap.
"Fine" He sighs, finally putting his phone down.
"And you calm down, young lady. Y/N needs to eat, come on" I order, taking a piece of pancake and putting it in front of her mouth. Y/N whines, moving around and trying to push my hand away so I couldn't feed her. "Y/N" I warn, making her finally take a bite.
Once Y/N is finally fed, Nat takes her to the bathroom to wash her up a bit, cause the food was all over her mouth and hands.
Billy and Tommy finish eating their breakfast as well and move to the living room. I get into washing the dishes and Nat comes back with Y/N seconds later.
"Come play with Y/N, mama" Y/N says cutely, stretching her hand towards me while the other one is wrapped around Nat's neck as she's carrying her.
"I need to wash the dishes, bubs" I tell her, taking her little hand and pressing a kiss to her palm.
"And I'll help mama, so we can both join you as soon as possible" Nat says, pressing a kiss to Y/N's cheek which makes Y/N giggle. "Go to play, honey. Mama and I will join you soon" Natasha says, putting Y/N down.
The little monkey runs away to the living room where all of her toys are. Nat hugs me from behind, pressing a kiss to my shoulder.
"Tommy, come play!" Y/N orders, making Nat and I chuckle. Our daughter can be really bossy sometimes.
"This will be long 2 weeks" I chuckle.
"It'll be fine. We'll go to the beach. You can relax and I'll take care of the kids" Nat smiles before pressing another kiss to my shoulder. I smile, turning around in her arms and wrapping my arms around my wife's neck.
"I love you so much" I tell her honestly, connecting our lips for a kiss.
"Y/N, stop! I won't play with you!" Tommy yells which makes me break the kiss.
"I'll go there" I sigh, quickly pecking Nat's lips one more time before going to the living room.
I walk in, seeing Y/N standing on the ground, holding Billy's leg and trying to drag him to play with her. The boys are both on their phones again, playing some games.
"Mama, you come play with Y/N?" Y/N asks adorably, walking happily towards me and doing grabby hands. "Up, mama, up, up!" Y/N says, jumping and holding her arms up for me to lift her up. I hook my hands under her armpits, lifting her up. I sit her on my hip and rub her back, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Boys, the phones" I stretch my hand towards them.
"Mooom" Both give me a glare.
"The phones" I order again. "This is a family vacation, so we'll be spending time as a family"
"If this is a family vacation then why isn't dad here" Tommy scoffs, crossing his arms and throwing himself back on the couch after both handed me their phones.
Vision and I got divorced more than 6 years ago. He got interested in another woman, so we decided to end things. Natasha helped me a lot back then. I'm not sure how all that happened as it was all quite quick, but we got married 2 years later and then Nat and I decided for a child. I couldn't be more happy though. All my children are amazing and Natasha is the best wife and mother to our children, even though the boys still aren't very happy about me being with someone else.
I sigh, taking a seat on the couch next to my sons and sitting Y/N on my lap.
"We've talked about this multiple times, Tommy… Your dad and I just didn't work out anymore and we'll never be. I love Natasha. So please, let's just have some nice family time now, okay?" I tell them. It keeps repeating again and again and I'm so tired of this.
Tommy stands up and goes upstairs without a word. I sigh, wrapping my arms around Y/N's waist, resting my head on top of her head and giving it a kiss.
"Everything okay?" Natasha asks, stepping into the living room. She sits down next to me, kissing the top of my head.
"Hi, mommy" Y/N smiles cutely, waving to Natasha.
"Hi, baby" Natasha chuckles, waving Y/N back before leaning down and kissing her forehead.
"Mom?" Billy calls. I turn my head to look at him. "I'll talk to Tommy" He smiles.
"Thanks, honey" I give him a honest smile. He gives me a quick smile back before going upstairs. At least one of my sons could finally get over it.
"What happened?" Nat looks at me confused.
"The usual" I sigh. "But… I think we promised a certain little someone that we'll play with her, didn't we?" I smile, tickling Y/N's tummy which makes her laugh.
"Play with Y/N?" Y/N asks adorably after I stop tickling her.
"Mhm" I nod with a smile. "We can play with Y/N now" I kiss Y/N's forehead while the little girl cheers, making me and Nat chuckle.

The City
Where am I? Wheres finch? Augh my head hurts, what happened? These were the only thoughts that occurred to me before I blacked out. Again.
Bright lights. Excruciating pain. Where's finch? I need to find them. Where am I? Ah yes, I remember now. The bots attacked our alley. They came so quickly- I didn't have time to think. There was... an explosion? My head hurts so much...
BOOM
Slammed back into reality, I search my surroundings for something, anything that might be a sign of home. A barren wasteland surrounds me consuming any surroundings in a heavy dust cloud, swallowing any hope I had of finding my way home. Trying to keep my heavy eyelids open, I attempt to stand up- only to almost immediately fall back down to the painfully rough, crude ground of this lifeless place. As I stagger around, bleary eyed, I spot someone, no, something hurtling towards me at an alarming speed in the distance. As my mind clears, my instincts finally kick in.
Run.
As these murderous mechanical monsters soar towards me, I drag my empty, fatigued body across the scorching ground, littered with dead animals. So, the radiation doesn't just kill humans then, I think to myself, momentarily forgetting I'm running for my life .
Right, I need to get my priorities in line- lists always help, right? First, I need to escape from these stupid hunks of metal and shoot them down. Then I need to find my way back to the city- disguised as a bot (ingenious, I know), find finch and escape this hell-hole with them. However, it appeared that while I was forming a plan, the bots had disappeared. Just great.
Carefully removing my bow and arrows from my back, I check the perished features of this death trap for any threat. Wait- what's that noise-I flick my eyes upwards just in time to realise the bots are trying to attack from above. Trying to remain calm, I aim with shaking, calloused hands, and- 3, 2, 1- FIRE!
The bots lifeless iron bodies fall to the floor. Perfect shot.
Just as I finish the tedious process of taking the bot apart and cobbling together its sterile features into some armour, the dust cloud clears to reveal the city, immense and imperial, right in front of my sleepless eyes. "You got this jade" I murmur to myself, pushing aside the doubt already gnawing a hole in my malnourished stomach, and turning on the bot's jet pack. If I'm optimistic enough, it looks like there's just enough power left to fly me back to our alley, where finch will hopefully be waiting, to get out of this abyss, and return home, to mum and pops. "Here goes nothing " I mutter as I shoot up into the perilous sunrise.
"Wow"
I can't help but say it out loud, I haven't been above The city in years. Its... really quite beautiful for a place like this, ridden with disease, death and abuse, overthrown by bots, stealing our homes, our food, our water.. but as the sun blooms on the horizon, its golden petals stretching ever outwards into the rich blue, a flower of the sky, warming my soul, an invitation to a new day, reflecting off the cracked windows of the crumbling skyscrapers, once holding entire communities, now derelict, abandoned and disintegrating. The roads are clear, no bots in sight, no imminent danger.. it feels quite peaceful....
Wait.
Am I getting closer to these deadly superstructures? Oh crap. The powers cut out! I guess just optimism wasn't enough to fly me back to The City.. wait- wher is the parachute? Please dont say I left it back in the wasteland! Well I guess theres nothing else left to say other than- "HEEELP!".
Just as I'm saying my final goodbyes to everything and everyone in my life, wishing I'd done so much more with my life, I'm swept away from my gory death, and into someone's arms. Human arms. Not a robot. A real life breathing human with real life thoughts and real life emotions. Not just some worthless hunk of metal. A human. Who has just saved me from my gruesome demise.
Dazed and confused, my head filling with so many questions, I feel it'll explode. Suddenly I realise we are miles above The City, above the clouds even! My head... it feels like it weighs a thousand tons. Looking up, all I see is Finch's concerned face looking down at me.
"Jade?"

i saw mod toby did this, and im a little embarrassed to ask but is there a small chance you can write a little drabble of brian thomas (marble hornets) comforting the person reading after a nightmare - 🐇💿 (im sorry im a sarah reid fictive who misses her boyfriend)
'COURSE I CAN!! ^..^ I WASNT SURE IF U WANTED 1ST PERSON PERSPECTIVE SO LMK IF U WANT THAT CHANGED AND I'LL FIX IT!!! :33
I woke up with a start, blankets pooling at my waist as I sat upright in my bed breathing quickly. I rubbed my eyes harshly to rid them of the tears building up after the nightmare I had been rudely awakened by, the memories of the nightmare were already fleeting but the feelings were not. I heard something shifting next to me and I jumped before realizing it was Brian who was now much more awake than he had been before. "Why are you awake?" he groggily asked me squinting in the darkness to see me. I hesitated before quietly responding "It was just a nightmare, love go back to bed." Brian sat up now looking me softly in the eyes now that his vision had adjusted to the darkness. He reached over and held my hands in his squeezing them lightly "It's about to be morning in a bit anyways I don't need to sleep until you're calmed down, darling." I already felt better having him next to me but the feelings were still very fresh and harsh and I could feel the tears leaking from my eyes now that I was vulnerable.
Brian let go of one of my hands to wipe the tears away before getting closer, "It was just a dream, Sarah, you're alright and I'm here. You know I'd never let anything happen to you!" He jokingly winked and flexed his muscles at the end of his sentence which got a giggle out of me. Brian smiled teeth and all at the noise and leaned in for a soft simple kiss which was one of my favourite things he does.
"How about we head on out to the kitchen and I'll cook us some breakfast like the best boyfriend ever. Then hopefully it'll help you feel better"
"I'd like that quite a lot, but, I think I might need a few more of the kisses to help me after that horrible horrible nightmare," I replied back batting my eyes. Brian let out a snort and rolled his eyes at that before getting out of bed and stretching as I followed behind to the kitchen to start our lovely lazy morning.

"You can say it, you know." Voice calm and conversational, smile present but empty; Vash's mask was firmly in place. "It's my fault. Everything you've been through lately, everything you've lost. I know it is. You don't have to hold back."
@goldendivinewrath
The brand of whiskey does not go unnoticed as she asked the bartender to leave the bottle with her. It cost her more double dollars than she ought to have spent on it, but given the circumstances tonight she's made the exception to stretch her wallet a little thin.
She's nowhere near JuLai and she can't pay her respects like she wants to.
Last she hear, the barricade surrounding the perimeter hasn't been touched so that would mean the makeshift grave she constructed for Roberto has remained standing. She's not there this year to make sure it hadn't been buried beneath sand or was knocked over—so, in truth, she doesn't know if it's actually still there.
The idea of not knowing has her heart clench in a way that makes her sick to her stomach, and the hard alcohol probably isn't the best thing right at this moment, but even though she ordered the bottle she's yet to open it and take a sip.
She's since pulled away from the bar and left the saloon to let the cool air brush up against her as she looks up and can spot three of the five moons.
It's bracing. It's grounding. It makes her clench her teeth and want to hurtle the bottle against the side of the building and listen to the glass shatter in a million pieces and watch as the amber liquid seeps into the ground. It'll be nothing more than a sodden patch come morning and then the heat of the dual suns will dry it up like it was never there.
That clench in her chest has not abated, even with the change of scenery and Meryl walks, not looking where she's going and just letting her feet carry here wherever they may go.
She feels laden with a weight that makes her drag, but yet she keeps on walking until she reaches a bench that feels like it's on the other side of the wrong side of town. It's dark here and the street lamps don't work, but she doesn't mind sitting in this darkness. The moonlight is enough to see by, but she's not looking at anything in particular, nor is she on the lookout.
The air feels colder here, but even that is barely registered as she sits down and places the bottle on the ground between her boots. Had she held onto it, the bottle would have slipped from her grip and clamoured to the ground, probably break in a way that wouldn't be satisfying at all. She's nowhere near JuLai but maybe she can make the trip out there during the week.
Hopefully Roberto won't give her too much grief for being late.
She feels the presence of another next to her as they take a seat on the bench. The light of the moons is bright enough that she can make out the outline of a familiar red coat and sensible boots made to maintain traction while traversing sand dunes.
Her shoulders hunch, like she means to curl in on herself, and Vash sits next to her, silent and allowing her this moment to grieve. When he speaks, it takes so much effort on her part not to let the sob burning in her throat out.
It waits inside her chest before rising up, a weight there that promises to be devastating and liberating at the same time. She's been told that time will heal wounds, and that has been true for the most part, but there are moments when the grief comes at her and she's so unprepared to deal with it that she lets it overcome her, lets it consume her.
"Don't say those things!"
She's not made an effort to hide the fact that she's crying now. Tears are streaming down her cheeks, dribbling off her chin and disappearing as they fall, swallowed by the gloom of the dark earth that's beneath their feet. "Don't you dare say those things!"
Meryl has turned to him now, storm-blue eyes rimmed with red and face tear-streaked, but her jaw is set and she's about to round into him again.
"W-we would have gone with you, either way. When—when you said where you were going after—"
Jeneora Rock.
She can't say the name. Can't say the name of the town where it all began for her and Roberto, how they got swept up in the typhoon for wanting to help—because she wanted to help and Roberto was roped in because she was too stubborn to walk away. She remembers him when they bought Vash some time with the JuLai patrol back in the Plant room, and Meryl knows that Roberto would have followed regardless of his grumbling.
"It's...it's actually my fault," she says as another fresh wave of tears come. Her chin wobbles as she clenches her eyes shut and she can clearly picture the huge nail that had been stabbed through Roberto's abdomen. She can hear the piercing laughter of Elendira as they hurtled themselves into the lift, how she pounding the glass with her fists to warn Vash it was all a trap.
She can still taste the copper tang of blood on her tongue as it had been smeared over her hands when she took Roberto's derringer. The weight of it isn't as heavy now as it had been once before, and her hands no longer shake when she'll occasionally practice with it.
But it is a weight all the same, and one she carries with and will always carry with her.
"So don't go saying stuff like that. It's not your fault."
Her voice becomes more like her own as she wipes her eyes with the back of her sleeve and reaches down to grab the bottle. Twisting the cap open doesn't take much as it comes off easily enough and she takes a swig.
"Have a drink with me, for him?"

The mix of ibuprofen and muscle relaxer that I took last night seem to have helped. I'm pretty sure that the doctor's not going to want to put me on anything stronger unfortunately. At least the pain is down to a dull ache and not my entire lower body doing it's best to imitate this-

hehe. since i am sick and feel like shit
how would the skeles help with the sickness :>
your choice of skeles. also if you have done this then feel free to ignore <3
Aw no, I'm sorry that you feel sick :(
here are some of the characters! I tried to do as many as I could ^^
Sans: With Sans, he might not be the most help in the world, though he will try his best to help you out with your sickness. He'll come and check on you, and make sure that you're sleeping, and he'll try to make you soup. Shockingly enough, he's a pretty good cook when it's simple stuff that all you have to do is put it into the water and stir. If you refuse to sleep, he'd roll his eye shines, then sit down with you and pet the top of your head, pulling his fingers through your hair until you fall asleep as well. Human sicknesses wouldn't really affect him... or at least, that's what he thought? He had no idea if they would, since you two are very different. Monsters can get sick! Just it's rarer. He'll hold your hair back or rub your back when you get sick.
Papyrus: When Papyrus learns that you're sick, he's going to feel shocked! How could the sickness get past the great Papyrus?! He's so sorry Y/n! He'll do whatever you want him to do while you're sick, even if he doesn't quite enjoy being near sick people. If he gets sick, then he will have to push through it to continue to help out the people around him because as the Great Papyrus, everyone around them needs him! If you tell him, you just want food, he'll offer to make you noodles until you say that that wouldn't be the best for you while you're sick, he gets apple sauce, and even if he hates that texture, he believes that it will be best for you and hopefully it'll help you out? He'll rub your back while you're coughing but while you're throwing up, he's going to be on the other side of the house to not hear it. He's, once again, very sorry Y/n but he cannot handle the sound of someone throwing up.
Blueberry: Blueberry is... one of the worst people you could have when he gets sick. Not because he won't help you with it, more he just isn't really that good at helping. Sicknesses make him nervous, despite that, he'll help you out the best that he could by rubbing your back if you throw up just with like... a broom. He's sorry Y/n! He just cannot get sick! That would be too much for him, the magnificent Sans! People need him and if he got sick, he would not be able to go and help everyone. However, he will bring you food that he made, and hopefully that would help out. He's... not a really good cook at all, just the same, the soup isn't burned or anything. That's good enough! Oh, also crackers. Crackers are good for you while you're sick.
Stretch: Stretch is the best person for that kinda stuff. He's good at taking care of people when they're sick, mostly Alphys or Undyne mostly Undyne because she almost never exactly took care of herself. While you're sick, he'll sit down with you rubbing your back in soothing circles and try to get you to rest and try to get some sleep, as sleeping would help you start to feel better faster. Also, you should eat something so if you do get sick, it wouldn't just be stomach acid. If you try to fight with him to take your meds, he's going to tell you that it'll make you feel better and that if you won't take it, he's not going to make you stuff later. It's an empty threat, though it does allow you to take the meds which he is happy about. Good job Y/n.
Axe: Sick? Sick isn't good, sick is bad. You should have never told Axe that you were sick, he's going around now cleaning everything, cooking you food that you most likely shouldn't eat because you're sick and you're just going to throw it back up, and holding onto you as tightly as he could without hurting you. Luckily, if you have a fever, the coldness from his bones would help and his purring would be really calming. He just wants you to be safe and to get rest. He's worried about you, and he's going to do anything that you ask him to do until you're better. He's really worried, and every time you fall asleep, he's going to check your breathing to make sure that you're still alive. Just... tell him that you're okay and he'll start to believe it, he just worries about you as you're his datemate and he loves you.
Noodle: Oh! You're sick? Then you need to eat! That's what he thinks, at least. Normally his sicknesses come from not eating enough, like he got too attached to the magic that would come from eating humans. It was something that he's been trying to get over, why would he want to hurt the humans that he grew so attached to, nowadays? Oh, wait wait, time to eat! He makes you a lot of food, and then when you say that you couldn't eat too much, as you'd get sick, he wouldn't exactly get it... if you eat some of the food, then get sick later, he'll start to feel guilty seeing as though he was the one that was making you eat. Please tell him ways that he could help you out, he'll do whatever you tell him to do, while making soft sounds of distress ad being careful with his sharp claws. He doesn't want to accidentally hurt you, his mind is already screaming at him to end this, and that is... it's dangerous for all of them.
Red: Ugh, really? You got sick? What do you want him to do about it? At least that's what he would say at first, then he would start to help you out the best that he could, just because he loves you, but he can't, you know, admit to that too much seeing as though that makes him really flustered. He doesn't want you to tease him about it. He'll hold your hair back while you get sick and will tell you to get rest because you being sick isn't something that he wants to have for too long. Of course Red will rub your back while you cough and mutter that you're an idiot for getting sick even if it isn’t exactly in your own control. It worries him after a while so please, make sure that he knows that it’s a small sickness.
Edge: With Edge, the second that he learns that you're sick, he's going to start to take care of you. Maybe a bit too much. If you try to get up, he'll tell you to sit back down and he'll get you whatever you wanted to get. It isn't that he doesn't think you could do it yourself, more he just doesn't WANT you to do it yourself, as he's your datemate and the leader of the royal guards and he's able to help you and take care of you. It makes him feel pretty good, you know? To help his datemate and take care of them. If he starts to do too much and you don't like it, tell him and he'll try to cool it down just... he is a little hurt about that. Expect him to bring you water, meds, and other things that you need while you’re sick, and if you ever want to... cuddle or anything, you just have to ask him and he’ll pause, thinking about it, then try to lay with you. He isn’t the cuddliest person, just you’re his datemate and he loves you. So, he’ll do anything you want him to do.
Lord: Lord dislikes the idea of being near someone while they're sick, just because of all of the things that he needs to do, he cannot get sick and the idea of getting sick, makes him feel like he needs to throw up. It's something that he tries to not think about too much. Yet, even so, he'll help you out the best that he could. He would make you food, clean your room and the house, and even will rub your back while you throw up... from a bit away... he doesn't want to get sick. Other than that, he's honestly a pretty good person to have around when you get sick! He'll tell you to rest, and will feed you if you're too weak to do it yourself, just please don't ask him to cuddle, he will not be able to do it while you're sick like that.
Mutt: He's no help at all, I'm sorry. He cannot handle the sound of someone throwing up, he's too loud, and worries too much if you're too sick. He gets Lord to help you out with it.

Hey Lovely, I couldn't resist and had to request a Thiam prompt. I love your writing so I know if you end up writing it, it'll be amazing.
1. Holding their hands when they are shaking.
11. Telling them a dumb joke just to see their smile.
15. Calming them down when they have a bad dream.
Also, thank you for your prompt request. I've got a few ideas already and hopefully will start on them today.
<3
Hi!! thank you for the ask <3
I hope you enjoy (and recommend we all ignore how unfinished it seems)
used prompted 1. holding their hands when they are shaking.
Liam hates tomatoes.
Mason knows that Liam hates tomatoes. Scott sure as hell knows that Liam hates tomatoes. Everyone spread out across the two tables they had commandeered inside the greasy pizza place that Theo’s so obsessed with knows and understands, without a shadow of a doubt, that Liam hates tomatoes.
So Liam can’t fathom the reason as to why he’s staring down at a slice of pizza covered in tomatoes.
He likes tomato flavoured things, like ketchup or the sauce on pizza. But Liam genuinely cannot stand cooked or uncooked tomatoes. Almost as much as he can’t stand the hunters that have been non-stop harassing them for the better half of three years.
He’s really getting tired of this life on the run. Bouncing from safe houses, to Scott’s house, to Theo’s truck, where he’s spent countless nights just staring blankly at the night sky while Theo stretches out across the cramped back seat watching some documentary on Liam’s phone and someone else busied themselves in the front seat, to rundown motels situated in the middle of nowhere, because he can’t actually go home to his own house or his own bed, without endangering the lives of his very human parents.
Liam isn’t sure he remembers a time where he actually felt settled in his own skin. He’s been pacing back and forth on the haphazardly drawn line of his control for months now, if not years.
Instability isn’t good for him. It makes him feel uneasy. Nauseous. Like he doesn’t have his own two legs to stand on. He hates it. Just like he hates the tomatoes on his goddamn plate.
Next to him, Stiles sits too close. Chatting animatedly with Scott, who’s across the table, an arm thrown over Malia’s shoulder. Lydia, Corey and Mason are over at the booth just behind them– Liam can see Corey nodding along to whatever Lydia’s saying– so Mason isn’t even able to intercept and switch their plates before Liam becomes too overwhelmed.
Theo’s at his other side, quiet and picking at his food. On one of the rare occasions where there wasn't a third or fourth inhibitor of Theo’s truck while they were hiding out in the preserve after picking out all the bullets that riddled their skin, Theo confessed that it took a while after a fight for the taste of blood to leave his mouth. Said that now, it makes his stomach flip.
Fuck the hunters.
And fuck whoever handed Liam this plate.
He is so tired.
“Theo,” Liam starts the sentence carefully, unsure of whether the words would come out in his own tone of voice, or something a little more guttural; beastly. He takes a look at Theo’s own plate, jaw ticking. “Any chance… Could we…”
He pauses as soon as Theo’s full attention is on him, suddenly uncomfortable with the idea that other people can notice the interaction. Liam uses a hand to gesture towards his plate, and Theo seems to catch on immediately. Eyes following the movement before settling back on Liam.
Or at least Liam thinks he does, until Theo’s own hand ends up wrapping around Liam’s wrist and curling around Liam’s trembling fingers. Fingers that Liam hadn’t even noticed were shaking.
“Oh,” Liam mumbles dumbly. Because who gets this upset over tomatoes?
Theo huffs in amusement, which makes Liam think that maybe he said the last part out loud and switches out their plates, leaving Liam with two slices of the meat lovers special and tugs their interlocked hands down under the table and out of view.
He graciously doesn’t mention that maybe Liam is more upset about the red on his face and underneath his fingernails, rather than the red on his plate.

Exercise for blah days
been trying to motivate myself to get moving lately bc its been so hard since I haven't had a lot of energy so hopefully this will help someone
A problem I've had a lot is feeling like I have to be all or nothing with exercise, feeling like if I'm not doing intense stuff or popular stuff that its not valid exercise. But I've realized that its more important to just do some sort of movement if you're able than it is to go all out and follow workout routines that will burn me out in a couple of days or weeks.
Now I know that exercise doesn't cure depression or anything, but I also realize that personally, I feel a lot healthier and better about myself when I can get my body moving and feel like im accomplishing something that will help me. so
Walking
Walking is an obvious one, if you're able to get out and do it. Walking may seem easy, but its also very beneficial, especially at a moderate pace, because it builds up your endurance and stretches out your leg muscles. You also get the added benefit of being outside, soaking up sun, and getting some fresh air!
Yoga/Stretching
Yoga is great because there's so many lessons focused on accessibility for beginners and people with mobility issues. You also don't even have to leave your house to do it! Some yoga youtubers even incorporate meditation into their lessons, which is great for mental health. Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube is a great resource, she has so many different lessons for all sorts of purposes and levels. I love doing her yoga to wake up and yoga to calm down flows.
Martial Arts
Martial Arts is kind of a tricky one, since its recommended to go to in person classes before trying it on your own since bad form with some movements might lead to you injuring yourself, however if you have past experience its a great way to get your body moving while having fun and working towards a goal. If you have no prior experience, things like taekwondo forms can be something fun to do, since they're pretty easy and one of the first things you learn. Alex Wong on YouTube has some great examples of kicking and balance drills you can do.
Sports
Another obvious one, but sports can be a great way to have fun and get moving. You don't even have to join a team or anything, just grab a basketball or a soccer ball and head to a local park when its not busy. Most tennis courts will have a wall you can practice against too if you want to try that.
Dancing
Dancing is a great way to get some cardio in and strengthen your muscles while having a lot of fun and learning some cool moves! There's so many videos you can look up to learn dances and dance moves, and its something easy you can do right in your room.
Cleaning
I know cleaning isn't fun by most peoples standards, but I love to throw on some music and make my house feel clean and cozy. Cleaning is a surprisingly good way of getting your body moving, since it involves a lot of motions and sometimes some physical effort. If you're able to get up and clean something, it also does wonders for your mental health to have a clean space to be in.
Playing with your pets
Unless you have a dog, playing with your pets probably won't be too intensive, but hey, they deserve some quality playtime, and it'll make you feel good.
I know these might not be accessible for everyone, but if your able to and want to these are some great things you can try to be more active in your life.

You're on your way back to your study after grabbing a snack from the kitchen when the sound of a key in the lock of your front door halts your steady steps. There aren't many people with a key to your house that would be visiting you at this time.
Even more concerning, however, is the light soprano of your daughter's voice echoing from the foyer to reach your ears, prompting you to quickly turn and rush to meet her at the door.
"Ryoka! What are you doing here?" You skid around the corner, already calling out in concern, "How did you even get home by your-"
You cut yourself off as you meet not only one pair of eyes, the copy of yours that you expect, but a second solemn pair, both wide in small faces that peer up at you.
"Mommy!" Your daughter's look of surprise and chagrin melts into a sheepish smile as she throws herself forward into your already extended arms. "I missed you!"
You hold her small frame close for a moment before gently pushing her out with your hands on her shoulders. "I missed you too, sweetheart. But you need to tell me what you're doing here and, more importantly, how you got here."
"Well school ended early today and.." She hesitates, peering up with big eyes and a small pout, "we thought we'd just walk home together."
You resist the urge to close your eyes and place a hand to your head in exasperation, aware that even at the young age of 7 years old, she's incredibly sensitive to your reactions. Instead you look at the little boy standing patiently behind her and ask, "And who's this?"
"This is my friend, Kiyoshi!" She's a little subdued, likely aware that she'll be hearing more from you later, but perks back up as she pulls away and grabs his hand to draw him further in your shared home.
"Hello Kiyoshi. Do your parents know where you are?"
He's definitely more guileless than your own daughter, answering directly and honestly in a quiet tone, "My dad's at work and my nanny was supposed to pick me up when school ended."
Okay, so clearly neither parent nor temporary guardian are aware that this boy is no longer at the school. They'll be frantic. Just as you're about to ask several more questions, hopefully leading to a quick resolution, you get a call, screen indicating it's your daughter's school, so you have both kids move into the living room as you pick up.
You're not too happy to hear about the early release at this point, given the lack of heads up and you make sure to give the school a piece of your mind, letting them know you'd be by at another point to discuss this further, before hanging up. If you're this upset and you know your daughter is home safe, you can't imagine what Kiyoshi's father is feeling at this point."
Crouching down in front of your daughter's friend, you wait until you're eye level with a patient, unhurried expression on your face, "Kiyoshi, do you know your father or nanny's phone number?"
He answers with a small nod, reciting the digits so clearly from diligent practice that you have to smile as you type it in and then stand back up to make the call, "Ryoka, why don't you show him your toys while mommy makes a call? Only the ones here in the living room where I can see you, okay?"
Your daughter dutifully nods but you catch the smug smile of success she throws her friend, likely having planned this improvised playtime with him. You'll definitely be having a serious talk with her later about safety and responsible decisions but you move slightly away for now, keeping an eye on the kids while the phone rings out.
"Suna." A deep voice answers on the other end, a little clipped but mostly unreadable.
"Hi.. Suna-san- I assume I'm speaking with Kiyoshi's father?"
There's a pause and then the voice gets sharper, "If you're calling back from the school, I don't want to hear it right now. I'm leaving now to find my son, but you can expect to hear ba-"
"I'm not from the school. My daughter is friends with your son and he's safe at my house."
"He's- he's with you." There's finally emotion other than anger and annoyance, it's an odd sort of relief and slight confusion mixed with a new wariness, "And who exactly are you?"
"I'm L/n F/n, as I mentioned, your son and my daughter are friends. I was pretty surprised to see them both show up at my house just minutes ago and have a bone to pick with the school too. But I would have wanted to know that she was okay before anything else if the positions were reversed so I'm calling you now. You said you were leaving work? Your son is safe, Suna-san, and he will be while we wait for you here. I'll text you my address."
As you're speaking you've already pulled your phone away to quickly text your address to the number you're on the line with. You can still hear if he speaks though but there's another pause from him and then, "Got it, thank you. You said they just showed up? How did they get there?"
"I'm pretty sure they walked, but I was going to cover that after I spoke with you. How far are you?"
His tone is back to unreadable but you think it's calm rather than neutral. "It's about a 30 minute drive, I'll be there in 20."
"Please don't rush, Kiyoshi is safe here. If it's okay with you, I'll make them snacks while we wait. There's no really no need to drive recklessly." It'll be easy to put something small together for the kids from the dinner you'd prepped for earlier.
There's amusement colouring his voice, "Thanks for the concern, L/n-san. I'll be there in 25, then."
You chuckle at the small compromise and there's a moment of silence between you both until you think to ask, "If you haven't left yet, do you want to quickly say hi over facetime?"
"You want to videochat?" He sounds confused again and you laugh in response.
"I meant with your son. You know, to check in on him."
He pauses yet again and then the amusement is back, "It should be fine.. unless you're going to tell me you're holding him hostage or something."
"Yeah, sure, or something." You roll your eyes with your dry response. What do you even say to that coming from a complete stranger? "We'll see you soon, then."
"L/n-san." You lift the phone you were lowering back to your ear when you hear him call out to you, "Thank you again."
"No need."
"Not everyone would have reacted as quickly and efficiently. Or maybe even bothered."
You can't imagine what parent wouldn't have been compelled to react in a similar manner but you don't say anything, uncomfortable accepting thanks for such a seemingly human reaction.
He seems to either understand or realize you don't have a response and you hear him chuckle lightly, the sound tugging at your own lips in sheepish acceptance, then he finally replies, "I'll see you soon, then."
You end your call and turn to fully face the two kids again. They've already managed to create a messy pile of toys they've pulled out and then discarded from Ryoka's toy box. Almost as if they feel you watching, they both stop their odd conversation about monsters and cats, and turn to face you simultaneously.
You suppress your smile at their adorable wide-eyed expressions and ask, "Who's hungry?"
Tumblr media
After the snacks are quickly devoured, the kids try to convince you to play hide-and-seek and, thinking nothing of it since Suna-san should be arriving soon to pick Kiyoshi up, you tell them you'll all play later and convince them to build a Lego structure instead. Happy to have them work on an activity that keeps them occupied in one place for the remainder of their time together, the time passes by quickly as you help them put together their incredibly creative vision.
When the bell finally sounds through your house, precisely 23 minutes after your call, you find yourself opening the door and looking up to a much taller, and much younger man than you'd expected. He actually seems to be about your age, in his mid-twenties, which is surprising because you'd thought you were one of the youngest parents at your daughter's school.
There's a quick look of surprise that likely mirrors yours on Suna-san's face before it's replaced smoothly with a polite expression. You pull away from his startling, keen eyes to step back and gesture for him to enter your foyer as you welcome him, equally politely, "Please, come inside, Suna-san. They're in the living room."
He hesitates only a moment before stepping into your home, stopping again to toe off his shoes before following you deeper, into the living room. The sounds of the kids chatting reaches you both well before you enter and you notice him watching his son with a small smile on his face before he catches you looking. His only response is the quirk of an eyebrow as if daring you to say something.
You only smile and call out, "Ryoka, it's time to say goodbye to Kiyoshi. His father's here to take him home."
The two kids look up, smiles fading as their eyes tear up. It's safe to say neither you nor Suna expect what comes next, as both children break out in tears.
Suna exchanges a surprised look with you, then crouches down with his arms stretched out, voice soothing as he calls to his son, "Kiyo, come here. Daddy missed you. Didn't you miss me too?"
You're surprised at the sweet, gentle tone from the intimidating man, even more so by the pure affection he easily displays for his son. He's nothing at all like his first impression on the phone, the cold, clipped tone nowhere to be found. You relax a little, not having noticed the uncomfortable tension that had slowly crept in by the thought of inviting an unknown man into your home, even if for the most innocent of reasons.
It doesn't work to relax his son, however, who only breaks out into unbelievably loud wails, particularly unexpected from the quiet boy you'd gotten used to over the past half hour. Ryoka's cries rise with Kiyoshi's and their chubby arms encircle each other as if to send home the point that you'd have to literally pry them apart.
You're pulled from your thoughts when Suna looks up at you a little helplessly, also seeming to be thrown for a loop, "It looks like Kiyo has grown very attached to your daughter. I'm sorry, I can just pick him up and go but..."
He trails off and you find even more respect rising for the man, he's clearly trying not to just completely run his son's life on a schedule or in a way that works only for him.
"But you don't want to break his heart when he's having so much fun?" You finish his sentence with a grin that prompts a self deprecating smile from him.
"Yeah, great parenting, huh?"
"It's really different parent to parent and, trust me, no one's an expert." You pause as you consider an idea, his peridot eyes steady on yours as if he can see you might have a solution to present. Impressive perception, and patience too.
You have a positive vibe and good feeling, so you don't ponder it too long before offering, "Why don't we let the kids play a little longer? They still have an abundance of energy and excitement from the improvised change in their daily schedule but once they've tired themselves out, I'm sure it'll be easier to separate them."
It's Suna's turn to pause, still holding your gaze with a carefully neutral one himself as he contemplates your offer. "I don't want Kiyo and I to be an inconvenience..."
"Not at all, it's just me and Ryoka as it is and dinner's already prepped so we'll just play some games with them and wait them out."
It's just as you say the word dinner that you hear a low, hungry rumble and there's another moment of silence but this time, you only see the tips of Suna's ears, which tint red as he hangs his head for a few seconds.
Biting your lip to hold back your laugh, you add, "You and Kiyo are more then welcome to join us for dinner first. I only gave them light snacks before and if there's one other thing than playtime that makes children more at ease, it's food. As I mentioned, it's already prepared and there's more than enough for four."
He keeps his head bent for another second before finally raising it and with the motion, he stands back up to his full height so you're tilting your head back to look up at him again. His smile is both sheepishly thankful and appreciative when he accepts, "If it's really not too much trouble, we would love to. Thank you."
The children cheer, tears still drying on their faces, but it seems like they've actually been eavesdropping through their shared tantrum and have grasped that playtime is extended. What an eventful day for them.
Suna offers his help but everything's pretty much ready so you put him to work setting the table and helping the kids wash their hands. He's equally gentle and no different with Ryoka, chuckling and treating her like royalty when she insists she's a princess from her most recent favourite movie. He's got them talking about the structure they're building and the two almost seem to finish each other's thoughts, eliciting a grin from both you and Suna when you share another look.
When you're seated at the table, across from Suna with Ryoka at your side and Kiyoshi across her, you notice how relaxed and comfortable the atmosphere is, enjoying it for the space of several heartbeats before realizing you forgot to offer the man a drink.
"Suna-san, would you like a beer? Or something else to drink?"
"I'm good, thanks, I can't really drink right now." He must see the inquisitive look slide on and quickly wipe off your face because he laughs and elaborates, "I play volleyball, professionally, so I have to be strict with my diet even if it's off season."
Your mouth drops in surprise, his stature and build making perfect sense now. Of course, how fitting. Your tone is heavy with respect when you reply, "That's incredible! I was a setter in high school so I know the discipline that comes with going pro, I could never have thought to pursue it professionally. You must be really dedicated."
So it would seem the light blush doesn't just kiss his ears when he's flustered or embarrassed, you can see the flush dust across his cheeks, however faint. It's pretty adorable, not a word you thought you'd use to describe this towering man but here you are, eyes sparkling and a soft smile teasing your lips.
He pauses before placing the meat platter back down in the center, eyes definitely not shy as he studies your expression with a small smile of his own gracing his lips. "Ah..thanks. And you can drop the honorifics by the way."
You already have in your head so you're glad he brought it up because you would have hated to slip up accidentally. "You as well then."
There's a moment of silence in which you think to ask, "How about any alternatives? I've got wine but also various other options if you want to take a look through the fridge."
"A glass of wine should be good, actually. Thank you."
"Mommy, can I have some too?" Ryoka looks up at you with pleading puppy dog eyes which has Kiyoshi attempting to match the look aimed at his dad with a low, "Me too?"
You both laugh and Suna tries to explain that wine isn't good for growing kids but you shake your head at him, prompting him to arch an expectant eyebrow while he waits for you to handle the denial.
"Ryoka, Kiyo, the wine mommies and daddies drink would just make you feel sick and bad. But I have something better for little princes and princesses that even adults like your dad and I aren't allowed to drink. Would you both like to have that instead?
Thank god they're not at an age to question every word out of your mouth just yet because they cheer for this 'special drink' so you move back over to the kitchen to pour it out, along with Suna who offers to help but by the playful look in his eyes, he's just curious to see what you'll pull together.
You direct him to the glasses and bottle opener as you take two plastic, stemmed glasses that mimic wine glasses in different colours and pour out cranberry juice in each. You hear Suna's chuckle and turn to find him already holding an open bottle in one hand and two glasses caught between his fingers by their stems in the other.
Wow, he looks really good in your kitchen, doesn't he? It's your turn to blush and he doesn't miss a thing, eyes tracking the heat as it flushes your face before his gaze drops to your lips, his own tilting from a grin to a teasing smirk.
Your only defense is to roll your eyes and turn to head back to the table, where the kids are now picking through the items they like versus the ones they don't and trading their unwanted portions off onto each other's plates. Okay, and that's even more adorable. It's only been weeks since they started classes and likely met, how have they become so close so fast?
"Cute, huh?" You startle at the low whisper in your ear, a small puff of air caressing the shell of your ear, when you realize Suna stopped right behind you to observe the same scene. His body heat seems to seek you out once you're fully aware of him, instilling you with the crazy urge to just lean back into his broad chest as he continues to whisper to you softly. Or just wrap his arms around you and hold you tight.
Wait, what- You stop yourself from looking back to meet his gaze, because you'd definitely expose your thoughts then but you have a feeling he's very aware of exactly what he's doing and not opposed to the reaction you just had. Either way, you just met this man today, right?
Ugh. You move forward instead, placing a cup in front of each kid, both reaching for it instantly. Ryoka tastes hers right away but Kiyo examines it first before tentatively attempting a tiny sip. And it works!
Each of their faces twists slightly at the tangy taste of the cranberry juice but seem to have picked up enough to know that 'wine' isn't exactly a sweet drink so both exchange a look before smoothing their faces out into haughty imitations of bored satisfaction. Haha. Little con artists.
You and Suna are grinning at each other too, as you each reclaim your seats and he pours out the wine for you both. The conversation flows easily once you're all settled and digging in, kids chiming in with random questions or requests for help with certain foods, but then zoning out constantly as they talk about their plans for the structure and something about cats again, as if it's just the two of them at the table.
Suna asks about your time playing volleyball and you ask him about his, noticing he has the same passion for the sport as you but definitely also an impressive dedication. He talks about his mindset in high school compared to now and you talk about your chosen vocation.
You both even have a chance to pull the full story about the events from earlier in the day, kids explaining that there was an unplanned early release, you and Suna putting two and two together to realize that the school did mess up big time. You both put it aside to deal with later and when he asks what you've covered with the kids already, you mention you didn't think it was appropriate to give Ryoka a lecture in front of Kiyoshi, keeping in mind that Suna might want to handle the discussion differently with his son.
He seems taken aback in a good way, throwing a very appreciative look your way and states that you're an incredibly considerate person and an amazing mom, prompting a full blush to work it's way back onto your face as your daughter throws her little arms as far around you as she can, agreeing very vocally with the amazing mom part.
You have to send her a teasing but firm look, adding that you're definitely saving a lecture on safety and responsibility for later since they shouldn't have left school grounds without an adult they know and trust. When Suna sees Kiyo's small look up at him, it's as if all he needs is a look to convey the same sentiment to his son but he places a hand on his head to ruffle his hair in a soft gesture.
It's near the end of dinner that conversation about each child's other parent arises. Your answer with a nonchalant shrug is to easily state, "Like I said before, it's just me and Ryoka."
Suna borrows a page from your book with a cheeky smile, right down to imitating your casual shrug and stating, "Likewise, just me and Kiyo."
There's nowhere to look but the steady gaze of his piercing eyes. Actually there are many other places but you're drawn in by a seemingly mutual pull.
"Mommy!" You're daughter's call has your eyes finally glancing away to meet hers instead, "You promised we could play hide-and-seek later!"
"Oh," You blink in shock at the long memory of children, "I did say that. But.."
"Please?" It's Kiyo's small voice that makes you pause and look towards Suna with wide eyes.
Oh, he's trouble because he's looking back at you and rounding out the group as the third pair of sparkling, mischievous eyes as he too asks with a teasing lilt, "Please?"
You have to laugh and agree, but only to a few rounds and only after the dishes have been cleaned. So Suna helps the kids wash their hands again before joining you at the sink, waving away your objections about being a guest and insisting he return the favour of an incredible meal.
Between the two of you, you make quick work of the dishes and it's time to deliver on your promise. You start of as 'it', counting down loudly by the front door while the kids rush off with Suna to find hiding spots around the house. You make sure to find Suna first and he trails after you as you hunt down the darling little treasures, finding Kiyoshi last. He really is good at hiding and staying quiet.
Suna's next and then Kiyoshi, then finally Ryoka is caught first and it's her turn to find the three of you. You follow the middle blocker's lead in allowing Kiyoshi to settle on a hiding spot and when he gestures to a closet in one of the guest rooms you quickly tuck yourself into the empty space.
But it seems the little boy has either run out of ideas of places to hide, or he's feeling rushed by Ryoka's faster countdown because he pushes his dad in with you and, frantically looking around after studying the lack of remaining space between the two adults, closes the door instead and you hear his little feet patter off.
Leaving you and Suna almost pressed together in the small, dark space. The silence between the two of you is heavy with restrained tension, the flirty comments and teasing glances throughout the evening hitting you full force as you realize the unintentionally intimate position you're in.
There's a thin beam of light streaking in from the crack between the doors that falls across Suna's face, making his already ethereal eyes appear even more unearthly, like glowing gems in the shadows that mask the rest of his face. They're trained right back on you as if he can see clearly in the dark, his intent gaze probing your own.
"I'd have suggested buying me dinner first..." His voice rings clear with mischievous amusement, quiet enough to reach your ears through the heavy gloom, "but I guess you already did."
You bite your lip to stop your smile, trying to shake off your overwhelming awareness of the man a breath away from you, "Isn't that supposed to be my line?"
Suna's chuckle is low, sending curious shivers resounding through you and his husky response succeeds in spiking your temperature, "If you want it to be. Or we could just save that part for later."
"Later, then." Why is it that your voice sounds so seductively throaty?! Is that really you?
In the inky darkness, all your other senses are on high alert so you almost jump when you feel his fingers brush at yours, trying to calm your racing pulse to no avail, as they tangle with yours oh so briefly. Then he's sliding them lightly up, brushing past your sensitive wrists, skating over your arms and shoulders and leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake before one slides under the fall of your hair, to curve around the nape of your neck.
While the fingers there tangle into your hair, gentle pressure drawing you forward and up on your toes, the other hand only caresses the side of your neck before finally settling softly to cup your cheek. Is this really happening? With a quiet but charming man who was all but a stranger to you until today?
Any further questions slip from your mind and you only have a second to register the smallest shift of his head before his lips are softly pressing down on yours. Instead of butterflies or tingles, you feel as if the very floor beneath your feet tilts, disorienting you further in the inky darkness. But it doesn't matter much when his arms slide around you to gather you close, eliminating the already laughable amount of space between you.
Suna finally deepens the kiss when you give in to the urge to press yourself closer, a new ferocity seeming to overtake you both as you each devour the other. You have no idea where he ends and you begin, only focused on the sensational moment, as you chase each other's lips in the darkness.
It could have been seconds or minutes, or longer still, but you've lost track as you match his intensity. The desire only deepens when he elicits a deep groan, drawn out by your delicate bite on his lower lip and reverberating through you like am electric current. His grip in your hair tightens and you feel almost delirious, caught in this ardent spell.
You two finally separate for air, short gasps from you both gradually slowing until it's silent again. There's a new tension but also an undeniable relief in the air between you. You feel compelled to say something so you hastily drop the first thought that pops into your head.
"Talk about seven minutes in heaven."
He laughs, louder this time, as if he's forgotten why you're both hiding there in the closet in the first place. To be honest, so did you for a couple minutes there. And you suppose it probably only has been that long, an assumption he corroborates with his response. "Can I get the full seven, then?"
But before you can respond, the closet doors are yanked open with a dramatic move that can only be your daughter, her voice happily calling out her delightful victory, "Found you!"
You send a wry look Suna's way as your eyes slowly adjust to the light, "I'm sure your laugh just now gave our spot away."
He places a hand to his chest, acting wounded with a sad look thrown at Ryoka who only nods excitably in response. Kiyoshi is standing behind her with a smile on his face, proud that it took longer than usual and he makes it a point to state, "I gave them that spot. It was my idea."
They start to walk away with her congratulating him at being a hide and seek master, her acknowledgment prompting a change in their focus to discussing classic versus strategic spots at school. You're thankful for the moment to completely regain your composure and you make sure to settle your expression into something nonchalant when you look back over at Suna.
Yeah, you're probably not fooling him if that teasing smirk is any indication of his keen awareness.
"Suna, that-"
"Rintaro."
"What?"
"That's my name. Rintaro."
"Oh I- That wouldn't be very appropriate." You realize the irony too late as the rebuttal slips automatically from your slips.
His eyebrow raises in a sardonic salute, both of you aware that you're each well past the point of being worried about that now.
"Call me Rin, then, or any variation. But don't kiss me like that and then call me Suna." He sounds torn somewhere between teasing and serious but you understand the sentiment.
Licking your suddenly dry lips, conscious of the speedy pace your.. relationship with this man has been moving, you don't give yourself a chance to hesitate before you respond, "Then call me Y/n."
That slow, answering smile is everything you didn't know you wanted. You're not going to question this unexpected attraction. It's mutual, it's consuming, and it's something you don't think you can walk away from at this point. You're both adults as it is and, it seems, both in silent agreement to let this unfold as it may.
"Daddy," Kiyo pokes his head back into the room, "You're it this time! Hurry up."
Suna walks ahead to pick his son up and swing him in the air, asking, "Weren't you caught first, kiddo?"
"Yeah, but I'm tagging you in because I don't want to be it this round." He aims wide, earnest eyes at his dad. Suna chuckles, likely at the whimsical but simple reasoning, but unsurprisingly complies.
"Okay, but this is the last round, then. And you all better find some really great spots to hide." With a brief pause just before he walks out of the room, he looks back over his shoulder to you, gaze holding yours steady with a confident smirk, "I'm really good at getting what I'm after."
You're left alone to digest that pointed declaration, holding your hand to your warm cheeks for a quick moment before dropping them and following the others out.
As promised, you all play one more round in which you're found first, probably by design, if the challenging smirk Suna throws your way is any indication. Then Ryoka and Kiyoshi are found in equally short order, the latter claiming the title of ultimate winner - at least for today's game, as Ryoka makes a point to stubbornly state.
The kids are still really energetic, remnants from the excitement of the game, so you settle them down to continue their Lego project with the hopes it'll help them wind down quickly. For additional guarantee, you also set a children's movie to play in the background, hoping it'll catch their attention and hold it long enough to help finally relax them.
Suna joins you on the couch, handing you another glass of wine while he settles in just beside you so that his side is as close to pressed up against yours that he thinks he can get away with. Not that you're complaining, no, but it is very distracting when his thigh shifts against yours or his arm moves to settle on the couch behind you.
It's distracting every time he makes a comment in between the silent moments, teasing remarks that steal your attention for long stretches after he's done speaking. It's distracting when you think you're both engaged in pretending to watch the movie, only for his breath to brush your ear whenever he leans in to speak.
It's distracting when he tucks a lock of your hair behind your ear before letting his next playful words slip from his tempting lips. And it's distracting when you look over to make a comment of your own and find him already studying you.
You wonder what he sees, but it's undeniable that his interest in you seems to only get stronger rather than wane. You feel the same, undoubtedly drawn and inconceivably connected to this man you've known for hours. It feels more like you've known him for years.
Finally winding down near the end of the movie, Ryoka and Kiyoshi move to the couch, one on each lap and holding hands between them as they start to slump down with heavy, sleepy eyes.
"I'm sad to say, I think it's time for Kiyo and I to head out." Suna's caught it too, the kids are well past the capability of throwing a tantrum again. But even more so, they're both happily sated with their time today, left with great memories of a fun, impromptu play date.
It's time for them to leave, and you and Ryoka see them off to the door.
As he helps Kiyoshi with his shoes, Suna thanks you once again, sincerely and without motive, "Thank you so much for everything today, Y/n."
"Me too, but as I said before, don't thank me for any of it."
"Hm. Well, it wasn't really a great situation to start, but I'm glad with the way it turned out. Meeting you is something I can't regret." His smile is flirtatious but sweet, and you do get butterflies now, finding yourself at a momentary loss for words.
You're thankfully both distracted once the kids move to give each other hugs and when you and Suna comment on their closeness, Ryoka simply states, "Yeah, of course. He's my brother now, right Kiyo?"
"Mhm. We both said we wanted a brother or sister-"
"So now we have each other!"
That's so completely adorable. You glance back over to Suna, who's already looking at you with amusement. Children can be so heartbreakingly precious.
Of course, Suna just has to comment, trademark smirk right back on his face, "Brother and sister, huh? Sounds good to me. What do you think, mom?"
Did he really? Just.. wow. You're definitely red all over, that was so highly suggestive on so many levels. You're okay with the fast pace that swept you off your feet today, but really- acting like co-parents... buy a girl dinner first. Damn.
"I think it's great you two have such a strong bond. You'll keep watching out for each other, yes?"
They enthusiastically nod their agreement and you send a challenging look Suna's way to see if there are any more awkward comments he wants to drop on you before the night is over. He takes pity with a small smile though, sending you a playful wink before turning to open the door with Kiyo's hand slipping in his.
They both wish you and Ryoka a good night as her own hand finds yours and two of you watch them walk over to, and settle in, Suna's car before you finally close and lock the door. Looking down at your daughter with a gentle smile, you say, "We'll save the talk about your choices from earlier today for tomorrow. But I hope you had a good day, munchkin."
"Yes, yes! Thank you so much, mommy!" She wraps her arms around your legs as you place a soft hand on her head, "I love you!"
"I love you too, baby. Let's get you to bed. Why don't you go pick out your pajamas for the night while mommy quickly finishes up here?"
She nods before running off to her room while you go over to the living room to turn off the TV and lights. When you're placing your wine glass in the sink, thinking of the moment Suna had brought it to the couch for you as if he somehow knew what you might want, you hear a text come in from your phone.

A/N: Okay so this is the final draft of a scenario that's been taking some space in my head every night when I'm trying to get some sleep. It was initially planned as a set of short scenarios for my Fayevourites (you can find the link to the anthology series up above, the other character concepts are explained there) but when I started writing Suna's story, it stretched much longer than anticipated. He has a habit of doing that to me but regardless, all it means is I've had to change some ideas and break the rest up into more manageable chapters. That said, there are three more chapters I plan to release. I'm hoping to start working on the other characters for this series first to keep it even, but I'll basically go where my writing takes me (: I hope you all enjoyed reading this one as much as I enjoyed writing it <3

summary; you miss peter, peter misses you. some nights are colder, but you help each other make them a little warmer.
   words; 2.1k
authors note; love u this is PERHAPS the cutest fic i have ever written :)
~
peter’s eyes open, sweetly and slowly, the aura of the bright sun hitting the sheer curtains to the lovely sight of Germany in the evening. he stretches his hand out to the middle of the bed, gently grazing over the silk sheets, sighing in defeat as he realizes one thing, and one thing only; you weren’t dreaming next to him. its not that he didn’t want to fall asleep, the hotel bed was quite comfortable and it was a very cozy atmosphere, but you were his person. peter parker was touched starved of you. he was longing, dreaming to be with you, as you were, too.
he wanted to hold onto you close, very tender. and wrap his arms around your waist, kiss every petal-like freckle on your button nose and shoulders. tell you how much you means to him, with words and the kisses.
but, what peter really loved, more than you, more than anything -- hearing your angelic, warm, honey-filled voice and talk to you. he loved having conversations with you, you were the easiest person to talk to, conversations flowing like a river on a beautiful spring day; flowers and butterflies filling the enchanting aroma. you were his sweet song, his sweet person who always had something intriguing, sweet, or funny to say. always calmed him down, you were his sweet melody, his fairytale.
peter stretches his arm over to the nightstand, eyes still adjusting to the darkness that endured. he fiddled with the empty wooden stand, finally touching his severely cracked phone screen and grabbing ahold of it. his heart glows, eyes still adjusting to the bright light of his phone, but still he admires his lock screen: a black and white picture of the both of you. it was your favorite picture together, laying in your spot down by a little river area on a quilted blanket. every friday, you and peter would go to this area, you’d make lunch that consisted of peanut butter sandwiches (no crust, and heart shaped. thanks to peter being a hopeless romantic, of course.) strawberries, and peach tea. sometimes, you would bring your ukelele and sing for peter.
that was his favorite thing on fridays, you singing to him. you were shy when it came to singing in front of people, mostly singing alone or not at all, but peter made you feel safe when you did in front of him. you did it because peter was your safe thing; peter was your person, your heart.
he wasn’t sure if you were awake, but he could deal with the simple text saying: ‘really?’ if you were sleeping. he had to hear your voice, more than anything in the world. music would do the trick, unless it was your angelic sounds filling the air.
“hello?”
is it safe to say peter went to heaven the minute he heard your sweet voice on the other end? quite possibly, yes.
“hi, hi,” peter sighs willingly, sitting up, his back leaning against the bed frame, curls framing his heart shaped face ever so perfectly.
germany was 9 hours ahead of queens, so it was only 10ish where you were. lucky for peter, you were waiting ever so patiently for his call, looking out the window up at the stars, wishing peter was with you. these summer nights were cold without him. so cold.
“pete, hey.” you tried to contain your heart from leaping out of your chest, and the excitement in your voice. his voice was so nice to hear after a long day, it always was.
“i-i’m sorry, did i wake you? i can call you later-“
“it’s ten here, silly goose,” you giggle softly, leaning back onto your pillow, fiddling with the necklace peter gave you just before he went onto this mission. it had a ‘p’ on it, a heart in the middle. symbolizing that you, y/n, would always have peters heart. and he would always have yours.
he knew the time, it was peter; he had to keep up with the times so he wouldn’t wake you up ever. little did he know, you couldn’t sleep either.
“just checking.” peter shuts his eyes, flowers surrounding, along with you. he never wanted to open them. because, if he did, you wouldn’t be there.
you proceed to fiddle with your necklace, “how’s germany? forgotten about me yet?” you say, teasing him. you hear his warm giggle on the other end, something you loved more than anything.
“y-you’re all i can think about, actually,” peter stutters, he says it in a very soft tone, but also wanting you to hear it; because it’s true, you’re all he could ever think about, and dream about.
“oh, haha,” you twirl the ends of your hair, looking at that same star in the sky, one that stood out the most. that was peter. he was your star. “are you not able to sleep?”
“i never can without you, haha.” peter runs his hands through his chestnut locks, the only way to ease the pang in his chest from missing your warm skin against his; he wanted you to be the one to run your hands through his curls, telling him how much you love them. poking his little freckles, saying how they reminded you of little flowers, blooming. the infinitesimal amounts of baby flowers on his nose and cheeks, also on his arms.
“me either,” you sigh, head turing to your left, eyes landing on the picture set on your nightstand. it was a silly photo booth picture of the two of you, but it was who you were. you and peter, best friends; soulmates.
“i just...”
“hm?”
peter lays back down on his cloud-like pillow, chin rested in his hand, voice muffled.
“i just want you beside me. i want you.” his voice breaks, his senses made it even harder, because he could almost feel you near him. he could feel you without even having to be right beside you. but it wasn’t enough.
“i know, petey,” you agreed. “but hey, you’re only going to be gone for one more day and we can have another sleepover.”
peter cracks a smile, and you could sense that. and that made you smile. “can’t wait, cutie.”
“me either.”
silence. one of you asking if the other was there, one murmuring that they love you more than anything. that was mostly peter, he had to say it at least 100 times a day. sometimes 101 was the lucky number for him.
then, there was silence for a while. but you both knew you were still awake. peter could hear your heartbeat; that sweet symphony of a heartbeat. yours. his.
“are you holding onto the locket i gave you for our three months?” peter asks, hopefully.
you blush, it’s like he knew, “maybe..”
“aw,” he giggles, “that’s sweet. i’m glad you still wear that.”
"always will."
it kept you safe when peter wasn’t there. so, of course you still wore it. one more inch of silence, peter could very well hear your heartbeat. it was his favorite song.
it was quiet, not too quiet, nor was it uncomfortably quiet — it was the kind that made you feel at peace.
after a moment, peter presses his lips together, soft but hopeful he whispers, "it's friday, will you sing for me?"
"my voice is so raspy, i'll sound horrible." you giggle, rubbing your eyes as you switch to another side. peter scrunches his nose, if he was there he'd simply cup your face and tell you that you were the most perfect person in the world and had the best singing voice.
"i think either way, it'll calm me down." peter admits, closing his eyes, feeling you near. it was close enough.
you smile, eyes feeling heavy and warm as you also close your eyes, imagining peter was holding your hand to ensure you that he was right there to protect you. and he was.
you and peter had multiple songs for each other, there were goofy songs, there were romantic songs, and there were the songs that just made you feel like you were right there with each other despite being far away. the minute you started to softly sing the melody of one of his favorite songs, he felt safer, he felt like everything was going to be okay and that he was right there.
he wasn't sure how you always knew how to make him feel okay, how to talk him down when he needs it the most. nobody else could do it. not even his aunt or his uncle when he was alive. peter figured that's just what someone does when they find the one for them and love them so much, they will go all the way to the moon and back for them, and that's what you both did for each other. it's almost like you were his sun, and he was your moon. you always had each other.
the next morning. it was a little colder than usual, as your eyes flutter open slowly. you cover yourself more in the blanket peter bought your for your 1 month anniversary, a spider man blanket, as you notice there was a sound coming from your phone. peter snoring. you giggle to yourself as you feel yourself loving him more that very moment. shamelessly, you kiss his contact photo on your phone and try to go back to sleep.
"night, prince charming."

Triple Threat Drabble: The Stranger
Here it is, the drabble I said I’d share with you guys! I’ve done a sort of hybrid thing with this where there are one or two images integrated into the text that are basically like comic panels. (think Diary of a Wimpy Kid but hopefully more classy.) So make sure you pay attention to them as you read!
Also, this is a work in progress. So please don’t judge it too harshly :)
Hope you guys enjoy this!
___
Sonic was not a slow eater. He hadn't been one as a child, and at age seventeen he certainly wasn't one now. The hedgehog rarely spent more than a few minutes to inhale his food during lunch period. Today was no different— after making quick work of the cafeteria's lasagna, Sonic had pushed his plate aside and was now settled with his left leg comfortably draped on top of his right, one hand fiddling with his shoelace.
Tumblr media
Across the table from him sat his friend, Knuckles the Echidna. Knuckles, who was one of the slowest eaters Sonic had ever seen, still had half his meal on his tray and was gradually picking away at a small bunch of grapes. "Probably." His eyes stayed on his hands as he smiled. "I don't think it'll be too bad, though; I'm looking forward to the history paper."
Sonic smirked. "I bet you are. I wonder what you'll write about this time. Maybe"—he cocked an eyebrow—"the ancient echidnas?"
"How'd you guess?" Knuckles smile widened as he dropped the now-empty grape stem onto his tray. Then he sighed, stretching his shoulders back. "I doubt the library has any new books on the topic, though. Seriously, they need an upgrade."
“Man, you're telling me. The other day, I—!" Sonic's thought was suddenly cut short.  If you had asked him what he'd just been talking about, he probably couldn't have told you.
"No way..."
Something, or rather someone, had caught his attention— someone on the opposite side of the cafeteria, who had just sat down at a faraway table perpendicular to Sonic's position.
It was a male hedgehog— that much was obvious. Looking at him, Sonic could make out his dark jeans, white t-shirt, and thin red-and-black striped flannel with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. The stranger sat, seemingly in silence, listening to a white female bat sitting across from him.
None of this was what made Sonic stare, however; it was his quills.
Their coloring wasn't necessarily unnatural for a hedgehog, but it was certainly unusual. They were black, the top of each quill traced by a long red stripe. Sonic had never seen anything like them.
Except that he had-- several times. He'd seen them in his dream.
"Hey, Sonic! You ok?"
Knuckles words yanked Sonic out of his trance and back into the buzzing world of the lunch room. "Wha—? Oh, sorry man. Heh, guess I kinda zoned out for a second."
"What were you staring at?" Knuckles turned in his seat to scan the room behind him.
"Nothing!" The word flew out of Sonic's mouth much quicker than he would have liked. He quickly brushed it off with a shrug. "I just remembered something I gotta do before lunch is over. I'd better run—see you later, alright?"
Knuckles looked like he didn't quite believe him. "What do you gotta do?"
Sonic’s face smiled as his brain racked for an answer. "Uh, homework. Never ends, am I right?"
Now it was Knuckles turn to smirk. "Heh, right." He picked up his mini milk carton and took a swig. "Well, good luck. I'll see you in fifth."
"Later, Knux!" Sonic grinned and picked up his tray from the table, keeping his movements casual as he made his way to the garbage cans. Behind his calm exterior, however, Sonic's mind was racing. It was a coincidence. It was a weird coincidence. But that's all it could be, right? Just a really weird, off-putting coincidence that meant nothing. Absolutely nothing at all.
So why was he so antsy all of a sudden?
Frankly, Sonic didn't even know why he had left Knuckles in such a hurry with that dumb fib about homework. What was he hoping to do? Was he planning to talk to the Weird-Coincidence Guy?
Well… it wasn't the worst idea.
Sonic's eyes flicked upwards from his tray; the black-and-red hedgehog was easy to pick out now that he knew he was there. Sonic's hands moved automatically, scraping his plates as he kept his eyes fixed on the stranger. The white bat across from him finished her sentence, waved, and then left, walking out through the cafeteria's main double doors. The black hedgehog watched her leave, a soda can held tightly in his hands. He barely moved at all.
Sonic dropped his plate unceremoniously into the designated bin. Now that the idea had entered his mind, he couldn’t shake it: he had to talk to him. As nonchalantly as he could, Sonic began weaving around chairs, backpacks and tables, gradually making his way to the strange hedgehog.
He was practically on top of him now. Sonic stopped walking, the black hedgehog a mere four feet ahead of him. He was facing away, hands still holding that soda can. Without so much as a second thought, Sonic smiled and said the first, most natural thing that came to his mind: “Hey!”
What happened next was the last thing Sonic had expected. The black hedgehog turned at his voice, saw him, and froze. His face paled and his eyes went wide. Something like an electric shock seemed to go through him, and the can in his hands crunched.
Brrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiing! The five-minute bell shouted rudely across the cafeteria, startling them both, and they were drowned in a wave of standing students. The black hedgehog was instantly blocked from view as three hundred teenagers, Human and Animal, began gathering their things and preparing to leave for classes.
“H-hey, wait a sec!” Sonic tried to see past the masses of knees and elbows, but quickly found that to be useless. He wasn’t one to give up easily, however; in seconds, Sonic had jumped onto the nearest table and was craning his neck to see over the sea of heads. Where could that guy have gone so quickly? Suddenly—there! Sonic barely caught sight of striped flannel as its wearer ducked around the corner of an adjacent hallway.
"Hey, dude, wait up!" Sonic was down in a flash. After shoving his way through the crowd he sprinted into the hall just as his target ran left down another. He called after him. "Yo, black hedgehog!" It became a game of cat and mouse as they chased each other down seemingly countless hallways and past endless classrooms. Sonic was fast on the track—the fastest in the state, in fact— but somehow this guy kept eluding him with all his constant turns.
Sonic finally whipped right around the ten-billionth corner only to come to an abrupt halt— the hallway ended just twenty feet in front of him. Sonic looked over his shoulder, then back at the dead end. He was positive this was the direction the hedgehog had dodged... so where did he go?
"Hello? Uh, you down here, man?" Sonic slowly walked forward as his question echoed in the empty hall. "I just wanna talk for a second."
Silence.
Then out of nowhere a blur of movement slammed into Sonic's chest, smashing him against a line of lockers. Sonic's breath was knocked out of him, and it took him a second to realize what had happened: standing there, with his forearm crushing Sonic’s ribs, was the black hedgehog. His eyes were mere inches away from his own. They were a bight crimson— to Sonic's astonishment, the color he expected them to be— with a ferocious, wild expression in them. There was also the depth of something that Sonic couldn’t quite name.
"Why are you following me?” he demanded.
Sonic’s hands flew up like a man held at gunpoint. "Woah, dude! Chill! I'm … I'm sorry!” It was still difficult to breathe. "I'm just… I just wanna… wanna talk!"
They stood there locked in place for a moment, both hedgehogs panting. A minute passed, and gradually something seemed to shift in the black hedgehog's eyes. He glanced downward at the arm that pinned Sonic, then back up at the hedgehog's face. Then he backed a few paces, his hands lowering to his sides.
Sonic pushed himself off the lockers and rubbed his chest. "Wow, you hit hard! You play football or something?" He gave the guy a smile. "Sorry. I probably really weirded you out back there—I said hi, but then the bell rang and you ran off and—"
"And you chased me." The hedgehog's voice was deeper than Sonic's when he spoke, with a sharp edge to it. The guy looked close to graduating— frankly, with his stern face, he barely looked like he belonged in high school at all. His arms moved to cross in front of his chest. "What do you want?"
"Uh..." Sonics brain suddenly froze. In that moment he realized that beyond his first hello, he hadn't actually thought of what he wanted to say to this guy. "I… I'm not sure. I just wanted to say hi, I guess."
"Why?"
"Well, um... aw, shoot, this sounds really stupid now." Sonic's smile turned sheepish. "I wanted to talk 'cause… you look kinda familiar?"
Other than a slight eyebrow raise, the black hedgehog didn’t move. His voice dripped with contempt. "Where on earth would I have met you before?"
"Heh, funny you should ask." Sonic shoved his thumbs in his pockets. "Uh, how long've you been at the school?"
"Three weeks."
Sonic did a double take. “Wait— really? Like, it's your first semester? But… you look like a senior."
"And?"
"Oh, I dunno... I guess thats just kinda rare, you know? New seniors? I'm a junior, myself." Sonic smiled, but the black hedgehog didn't flinch. He cleared his throat. "Well, anyway… You really do look super familiar to me. It's kinda freaky, actually."
The dark hedgehog's eyes narrowed. "And why would you say that?"
Tumblr media
Sonic wasn't sure what reaction he'd been waiting for— maybe a good laugh, if anything— but it certainly wasn't what the black hedgehog was doing now. His shoulders hitched, fingers digging into his forearms. Even more surprising was his face; it had that same haunted look Sonic had glimpsed before— back in the cafeteria, right when the stranger had first seen him.
And then all at once it was gone, replaced by the earlier scowl. "That's ridiculous.”
Sonic’s hand dropped down from where it had been resting behind his head. “Um… yeah. Yeah, it is.”
They stood there in a heavy silence. The black hedgehog drummed his fingers against his arm. “Is that all?”
Sonic stared back at him. “… Yes.”
The other hedgehog looked at Sonic a moment longer, annoyed expression unchanging. Then with a ‘hmph’, he turned away abruptly, walking back towards the hallway through which they had come.
Sonic watched him leave. He felt the urge to say something, but nothing came to mind. Well, that was weird. What had he been expecting though, really? The whole reason for him talking to the guy was weird to begin with. It was funny; though Sonic was usually very confident around strangers, this whole conversation— which he himself had initiated— had made even him uncomfortable.
Sonic began to turn the in the opposite direction to head to his own class— only find himself staring at the dead-end hallway again. Whoops. There was only one other way to go.
The black hedgehog’s ear perked as footsteps echoed behind him, and he turned his head sharply. Sonic’s hands shot back up in the air again upon being caught. “Sorry, ignore me—my class is this way too.”
The stranger glared at Sonic a moment, then turned back and kept walking. Sonic waited a second, allowing for some space, then continued on behind.
There was almost no other sound as the two of them made their way down the hall. Sonic slipped his thumbs back into his pockets, trying not to look at the stranger. Eventually, he let his eyes drift to the back of the hedgehog’s head. What was up with the guy, anyway? He sure was a tough nut to crack— tougher than even Knuckles had been when they’d first met, and that was saying something. This guy refused to be warmed up in any way, shape, or form. Sonic had nothing to work with here, and it left him at a loss.
Eventually Sonic couldn’t stand the silence anymore. “Hey,” he ventured, “sorry I got on your nerves back there."
If the other hedgehog heard him, he gave no sign of it.
A few more seconds passed. Sonic took a breath. "I probably shouldn’t have bothered you. It was kinda silly to say anything at all, to be honest. I probably wouldn’t’ve, either, if I’d only had the dream once. It's just weird, you know? ‘Cause I don’t even know you, but this guy that looks exactly like you is in the dream every single time, along with that other hedgehog—”
“I don’t care!”
Instantly, the black hedgehog was in Sonic’s face. Teeth bared, fangs showing, a threatening finger nearly stabbed Sonic in the eye. “I’m going to say this once, Blue Hedgehog. I don’t care about your dreams. I don’t care if I was in it, or that white hedgehog, or you, or anybody! And I’m tired of hearing about it.”
They stood there a moment, with Sonic for once in his life standing perfectly still. The black hedgehog’s finger lowered as he growled. “Are we clear?”
With the finger out of his face, Sonic slowly straightened. Ok, talking more was definitely not going to take any tension out of the air. He opened his mouth to give a simple reply.
Then something clicked. “Wait... How did you know the hedgehog was white?”
The scowl on the stranger’s face faded slightly, the air seeming to still. “What?” he breathed.
“The other hedgehog,” said Sonic, "I never mentioned what color his fur was.” Now he leaned forward, studying the stranger. He met his eyes. "How did you know it was white?”
The stranger gave no response. The blood had slowly drained from his face, leaving it ghostly pale as his mouth hung open wordlessly.
Then suddenly his face clenched, and a hand jerked out to slap Sonic away. “Enough!”
He dashed off. It took Sonic a second to recover from the unexpected shove. “Wha- Hey, dude, wait!" He sprinted around the corner ahead. "Where are you going—?!"
The black hedgehog was gone.
Sonic stood staring blankly down the empty hallway.  What the heck? Thoughts swirled around his brain—half of them were questions, and the other half were answers that didn’t make sense. He leaned his left arm against the rough brick wall next to him.
Had “white” simply been a guess? A stab in the dark? Was that the color everybody thought of when they pictured the average hedgehog?
Or did he know, too?
Another blaring brrrring! from the bell startled Sonic out of his thoughts. “Aw, shoot.” He was late for chemistry. He took off at a sprint.
A few minutes later, Sonic would come rushing through his classroom door. He wouldn’t remember that he needed to grab his textbook from his locker until he was already inside. No excuse would be given when when his teacher scolded him, declaring solemnly that being the school’s track star did not justify him arriving late to class. Later, when everyone was paired up for experiments, Tails would ask him where he’d been; cutting it close was normal for Sonic, but arriving seven minutes after the bell was not. Sonic would hesitate a moment. Then he’d give his best friend a smile, ruffling the fur on his head. “It’s not really important,” he’d say, “no worries. Let’s just get these reactions done.”
Hours later, in dark of his bedroom, Sonic would still be thinking about that black hedgehog.

Widofjord: Fjord wants to propose to Caleb. He just needs to find a ring, well another ring he'd given Caleb one ring before already after all. But he wanted it to be useful as well as meaningful...but fuck was he not the best at picking out pretty things, but well he'd talked Beau into making a ring with some amber in it for him. They just needed to figure out what sort of enchantment to get Pumat to put on it. They walk in on Pumat giving Caleb his own enchanted engagement ring for Fjord.
Oooo, such a cute idiot for these dorks.
Enjoy!
"Dude, stop fussing with it." Before he could shove it back in his pocket, Beau plucked it out of his hand to tuck it into one of her many pouches. "The last thing you want to do is accidentally drop it. It'll take forever to find."
"I know that."
"You know you have nothing to worry about, right? You could give him a cheap plastic ring and he'd say yes. The fact you went through all this effort to make an engagement ring specifically for him is going to mean the world to him. After he says yes that is because you know he's going to say yes before he even looks at it."
"I'm not worried about whether he'll say yes." When Beau gave him an unimpressed looked, he let out a soft sigh. "Fine, I'm a little worried about it, but it's not my main concern. I just... I want it to be perfect for him. You did an amazing job on the ring. This enchantment needs to be just as perfect, and I still have no idea what to do."
"That's why we're going to Pumat. There's no way he doesn't know of a spell that will be perfect for him. We'll take all the time we for you to pick the right one."
"Right, we have time. It's not like it needs to be done by a certain time. He doesn't know I'm proposing. If I need to think it over, there's nothing wrong with that."
"Exactly. Take the time you need to make it perfect. Caleb doesn't know you plan on proposing and he's not going anywhere. We'll go talk to Pumat. If you find the right enchantment, amazing. If not, we'll figure something else out."
"Thanks, Beau."
"You're welcome." She clapped him on the shoulder to guide him to Pumat's door and motioned to the handle. "Now, let's get in there."
"Okay."
After taking a deep breath to calm himself, he entered the to the immediate greetings of the Pumat behind the counter. When his voice refused to work, he gave a wave and turned to look at Beau. She put on an encouraging smile as she handed the ring, then used the hand on his shoulder to guide him over to the counter.
"Hello there! What can we do for you today?"
"I was hoping you could help me with an enchantment."
"Of course! What would you like enchanted?"
As he placed the ring on the counter between them, the door to the backroom opened to reveal Pumat and a familiar face. "Fjord?"
"Cay! What are you doing here?" While he hoped to cover the ring before his noticed, his eyes flicked down at the movement to see the ring. "Uh, I can explain."
"You're getting a ring enchanted. An amber ring."
"I guess I don't need to explain anything."
A fond smile stretched across Caleb's face as he rounded the counter to stand in front of him with something delicately held between his hands. "Fjord, I do not wish to steal your thunder. You have obviously put a lot of thought and time into this, but it seems we may have been of a like mind on this one."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I was hoping you would marry me," He removed his top hand to show Fjord the thick weaved titanium band with tiny gems of various colors worded into the design. "and I thought you could use another enchanted ring. Hopefully, this one proves more useful than the first."
"It's gorgeous, Cay."
"That's not a yes."
He rolled his eyes at the playful smile dancing along Caleb's lips, then leaned down to kiss him. "Yes, I'll marry you. The ring is gorgeous. Thank you."
"You don't even know what it does."
"It let's me be engaged to you. That's the most important thing." While he brushed a strand of hair out of his face with one hand, Caleb slipped the ring on with the other. "Not to sound rude, but can you please leave now so I can finish yours."
"Don't overthink it."
"I'll try not to, love."

The Lost Boys: Road Trip
Based on one of the most vivid dreams I've ever had. Word count: 2,255. Implied romance with the boys and Star. Tw: none.
Tumblr media
“I’ve always wanted to travel and go sight-seeing without any real objective, like moving,” said Lucy, in a dream-like tone. I chimed in, “I’ve had a cross-country road trip planned out for quite a while, but I’ve never had anyone to do it with.” “Oh really?” Lucy asked, “Where to?” “Well, it’ll be a round trip with touring both going and coming back. I'm hoping to go through Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, then we’ll go north, through Ohio, and Michigan, then come back home through Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, then through the top of California all the way back home.” “Oh my goodness! That sounds like a dream, but also a lot of gas money,” Lucy exclaimed. We laughed.

“It really would be, but I have the money saved up in a debit account, so hopefully it'll cover it. There’s also hotels, toll bridges, food, water, all that fun stuff,” I giggled. “But it would be worth it, I have tons of film for my instax camera, and a couple journals to write down my experiences.”
I gestured to her, “I have a couple extras for people that want to tag along,” Lucy smiled but quickly frowned, “Oh, I would love to go, I really would, but I have to work and look after the boys and their grandfather,” she mused. I chimed in, “It doesn't just have to be you, you know, I’ve got quite a few people in mind who could benefit from traveling.” “Well, I'll have to check with my boys and my boss. I’ll let you know if I can or can’t as soon as possible,” lucy said, with a look of disappointment in her eyes. I nodded in understanding and smiled, “Well, whenever you do let me know, I wouldn’t be upset if it was a no. I would be sure to share every detail with you, though.” “Oh, thank you for understanding, it means a lot to me!” “No problem. Well, I guess I'll be on my way then,” I said as I opened the front door.
We said our goodbyes and I headed out on my motorcycle to go and see the boys. It’s getting dark enough out where they should be slowly getting up by now. I wonder if Laddie and Star are there, too. They usually are, but sometimes they’re out and about, since they can handle sunlight a bit better than the rest. I park my bike and I can hear distant yawning and mumbling from where I'm standing at the cave entrance. They all start to float out and stretch one by one, Dwayne being first, Marko being second, David being third, and Paul being last. Of course Paul is last, he’s the heaviest sleeper. This road trip would be nothing to him, if they all agreed, that is. I just have to do some convincing.
Marko slipped his jacket and boots on, and the rest followed suit. They’re all quiet when they first wake, that’s why I don't ‘show up’ until I start hearing conversation and laughing. However, I’ve got to wait for the perfect time to come in, when they’ve been talking for a while and can actually think. “I wonder what Michael’s been doin’” I hear Paul say. “I don’t know Paul,” David sighed. “Maybe he’s been avoiding us…” He paused for a minute, then said, “Anyone hungry yet?” a wave of “not me’s” and “mm-mm’s” spread across the cave. I hear Dwayne grab a torch, light it, and begin lighting the cans all around the cave. The -now illuminated- boys begin bantering about who they should target next and what they plan to do for the day- well, night.
As a result, I put on my big-kid pants and stepped into the cave. They all turned to me, Marko exclaimed, “Hey! There you are!” “Hey guys,” I said, waving. Laddie ran up to me and hugged me from the side. I patted his back and ruffled his hair. Star smiled at me as she greeted me with a wave. I smiled back. Marko and Paul ran to me and squished me in their arms.
“I have something to share with you guys. An idea, really,” I said. All the boys looked at me in curiosity until David spoke up, “Well, what is this… idea of yours?” I beamed at all of them and said, “You all know how much I like going on adventures…” they looked even more puzzled now. “So, how about I take everyone on a really big adventure? A road trip!” They looked contemplative, as if they were considering going or not. “I could go alone…” Paul's and Marko's eyes widened, “But I much prefer having company with me, especially on trips like these.” Dwayne piped up, “So... where would we be going?” I smiled and pulled out a map, “How about I show you guys?”
The boys, Laddie, and Star crowd around behind me as I point around a U.S. map and explain where we’re going and what I'm planning on doing. I point all over the map and across the northern states. "We can add on a couple more destinations if you'd like… this is just more of the baseline plan." "Are we going to any big cities?" Marko asked. "Hell yea! And we're gonna go touring at night and see all the pretty lights and stuff. It'll be so fun!" "I'm down!" Paul says. "Me too!" Dwayne chimed in. "I wanna go!" Laddie exclaimed. Star smiled, and turned to David. The rest of us followed suit. This… is it.
I smiled at David and asked, "So, leader of the pack, are you in?" He paused. We cautiously awaited his answer. Laddie's eyes met David’s as he silently pleaded to go. David finally broke, smiled, and said, "alright. When are we leaving?" The cave uproared in a fit of whooping and hollering, mainly thanks to Marko and Paul, and Star picked Laddie up and twirled him around. "You won't regret this!" I said to David over the noise. "Well, I'm actually looking forward to it." He said.
We left to go grab a bite to eat, the boys did their thing and I took Laddie and Star to a little Italian place on the boardwalk to eat. I told the boys to meet us there when they were done. “You sure about all this?” Star asked. “Absolutely! I like having an adventure crew. I'll admit though, it's gonna be a little different with a youngin' on board,” I laughed.
After a while, Lucy finally agreed to go with our party and told her boys to look after one another. We all packed our clothes and bought some more for the boys. They needed clothes that were fit for the amount of walking. I also couldn’t let anyone see my boys in blood-stained clothes in public, we’ll look like we got in some freak accident. I rode my motorcycle and directed the boys to my place, where we have a big Volkswagen bus parked out front, fit for a party of eight. Lucy is already there after a phone call telling us she would meet us at my place. We packed our bags into the trunk, all 4 boys could fit their bags into one suitcase with vacuum seal bags, Star and Laddie share a backpack, Lucy has her own suitcase and I have my own backpack. There's a box of toiletries for us all, except for Lucy, who decided on keeping everything of hers separate from the others, which is fair enough.
It was 9pm, and we made sure everyone went to the bathroom and was all taken care of before we took off. The first drive is twelve-and-a-half hours, from Santa Carla to Salt Lake City, Utah. We toured the entire city on foot for a few hours, and decided on the next driver to take us to our next destination. Before we left Salt Lake, I put all the pictures I took into a scrapbook and wrote down the notes of what happened that day. “Hey, guys? If you want a journal to write anything down about the trip, I have a few extras here! And we can go over everyone’s journals and keep them in a safe space after the trip!” I said, as we all piled into the bus. David, sitting in the same row as me, turned to me and said, “I’d like to document what i’m experiencing. It’s a good idea, considering we’ve got a lot of…time left” he paused. I gave an understanding nod and handed him a journal. Star, from the third row, said, “i’ll take one!”
We continued across the country and journaled, and took as many pictures as possible. I will never forget how genuinely happy all the boys were, they were so used to the boardwalk and now they get to go places. Laddie would bounce around happily when we toured around on foot. Star and Lucy spent their time quietly admiring land and cityscapes. The boys would get rowdy and restless at night, desperate to get in a fight or two. I've had to intervene more than I want to admit. But overall, they were well-behaved and did great throughout the trip.
The most precious memory to me, though, is when Dwayne, Paul, and Laddie grabbed me to go for a walk. At this point we were in Cincinnati, we checked in a hotel for a couple days, just on the water. A few of us wanted to go walk on the Purple People Bridge before we left. It was getting dark out, so we held close together. We walked across the bridge, Dwayne carried Laddie piggyback style and Paul and I were walking close by. We got down far enough on the bridge that we were close to the water. The sound of the river was calming, less rapid than the water outside the cave. I pointed out all the boats on the water to Laddie and we watched the water and the city in front of us.
What the boys didn't know was there was an event going on in the city. Some sort of charity event, I was never really sure about that part, but what I did know was the boys were really gonna like it.
"Hey, let's stay here for a bit. We're not in a hurry!" I said. "Umm… alright then," Dwayne said. Paul looked at me in confusion, but didn't say anything. Laddie was falling asleep on Dwayne's back, but Dwayne didn't seem to mind.
Soon, lights flicker on, one by one, lighting the whole city in blue. "Look Laddie!" I said while tapping his arm. He hopped off of Dwayne's back and stared at the illuminated city. All of Cincinnati was now an icy blue, and I will never forget the look of wonder in Laddie's eyes. Paul and Dwayne shared the same look as well. We were all starstruck as the night sky before us lit up in a beautiful blue. Paul's smile slowly grew and he giggled. I looked at him with a questioning look.
He turned to me, and said,"Thank you. This is… was, amazing. I don't think you know how much I appreciate you. This…" I smiled and wrapped my arms around his waist. We held each other close as the city behind us twinkled and glowed. Footsteps came alongside us, the rest of the party decided to try and find us. "Looks like you and Paul are having fun," David said. I wasn't even mad at the joke this time. "We really are, why don't you join us?" I asked. David smiled and ran his fingers through my hair. He wrapped his arms around me from behind as I was hugging Paul, so I was sandwiched between them. Marko stood beside us all. David saw and invited him into the middle with me. I turned around and squeezed Marko as the others adjusted.
Laddie was excitedly pointing out every detail to Star, Dwayne and Lucy and bouncing in pure joy. "Laddie seems to be enjoying this the most. I'm so happy I get to show him these beautiful places." I said. "I will never forget the look on his face for as long as I live."
The rest of the trip went smoothly. We stopped in big cities, small towns, natural parks, and got to see part of Canada from the upper peninsula of Michigan. I wrote down two journals' worth of notes and had to buy another scrapbook to fit all the pictures I took.
Surprisingly, the whole party responded well to the really long drives we did. When we made it home and said our goodbyes to Lucy as she drove to her own home, it was like this weight was lifted off of us as we stepped into the cave. No more stress of travel, a place to stretch your legs, a place to just be... in peace. Laddie hugged me as Dwayne went around and lit the cave up. "Thank you so much," he said. "You're welcome, little dude!" I said. "Yeah, thank you!" Marko and Paul chimed in. Star walked up to me and wrapped her arms around my shoulders. "Thank you for doing all of that for us," she said. "You really didn't have to." "I know, but I love you guys. The least I can do for you is take you on one of my adventures."

Photoshoot
Tumblr media
📸 Summary: As a growing small photographer with friends in . . . places, you managed to get an hour long photoshoot with ONEUS's dancer, Yeo Hwanwoong. A dancer who you have admired from a distance for a long time.
📸 Word Count: 1,847 words
📸 Pairing: Reader x Yeo Hwanwoong (Hwanwoong) / Characters: GenderNeutral!Reader, Photographer!Reader; Yeo Hwanwoong (Hwanwoong);

Tumblr media
You gaze out the window of the bus, phone in hand as you ride to the RBW building, carrying your camera equipment in a large, heavy briefcase.
You've never taken any photography with any RBW artists before. Actually, you've never taken any photography for any K-Pop idols before. You've helped out with some drama and magazine photoshoots, with actors and small dancers, and have even published some nature photography and photography of back-up dancers, but you'd never worked with any actual music artists before.
Through a friend you have, that works at RBW, you managed to get permission to do a small photoshoot with the main dancer of ONEUS, Yeo Hwanwoong.
And Hwanwoong is a dancer you've admired for a while. His dancing is amazing to watch. He has a sort of intense yet graceful style, and is always on point. His confidence and his elegance are both things you are excited to see and hopefully photograph today. Ever since you started photographing dancers, you'd daydreamed about photographing Yeo Hwanwoong.
You have five minutes of walking left to do after the bus, so with your bag of equipment in hand, you make your way down the sidewalk, humming some songs to yourself.
You walk into the building. Your friend is standing in the lobby, smiling. He walks over to you, gives you a tight hug, gives you a visitor's badge, and leads you down the hall.
"You're a bit early. Are you excited?" he asks, ushering you into the elevator. "You get to photograph Yeo Hwanwoong!"
You roll your eyes. "Yes, I am excited. Thank you for helping me with this opportunity. But I swear, it's just a photoshoot. It's not any different from the other dancers I've photographed. It's not like I'm partnering with RBW long-term or anything."
"Except for that he's an idol," he says, grinning from ear to ear. The elevator stops, rings, and the doors open into the next hallway. You follow him out of the hallway.
"Well, now you're scaring me," you say. "Is he nice or not?"
Your friend stops at a door on the left, a semi-transparent door. "Oh, he's a sweetheart. Nothing less than kind and friendly." He pushes the door open and ushers you inside. "Maybe in the future, you could partner with RBW and do more photoshoots with the members. You can start setting up your stuff now," he says, checking his phone. "Yeo Hwanwoong should be here within the next ten minutes."
You nod, setting down your equipment. Your friend winks at you.
"Good luck," he says, before leaving, closing the door as he goes.
You take a deep breath to calm yourself down. You're both nervous and excited. You're nervouscited.
Tumblr media
You stand near your camera, which set on a tripod. You're adjusting the lighting of the room.. You keep glancing around the space in front of you and at the camera next to you, trying to imagine what gorgeous shots you might get today.
You hear a click behind you, the door opening and then closing. You quickly turn around to face the door in surprise, and you recognize him instantly.
Yeo Hwanwoong is standing there, his hands behind his back with a bright smile on his face. He's wearing a loose white button-up shirt and black jeans. the way his hair is done makes him look a bit like a prince.
You quickly stand up straight and bow in greeting. "Hello, Mr. Yeo. I'm Y/N Y/L/N."
"Oh, you don't need to be formal with me," he says. You nod. "You can just call me Hwanwoong. And uh, I know who you are."
You knit your brows and tilt your head curiously. "You do?"
"Well, when they told me you wanted to do a photoshoot with me, I was curious. So I looked you up," he explains. "I really admire your work. And I don't mean the work that's published in magazines. I mean your work. You can really feel the emotions and intentions in them."
You blink in surprise, a bit flustered. You're still beyond shocked that Yeo Hwanwoong of ONEUS looked at your photography, as well as really looked into your photos and analyzed them. Your online portfolio. Your photoshoots. You can feel your cheeks heating up, and you clear your throat.
"That's very kind of you to say, Mr. Yeo." You nod your head respectfully. You're sure that your voice is shaking from excitement. "Shall we get to the photoshoot?"
Hwanwoong nods and chuckles gently. "Right. You asked me to prepare a dance routine, am I correct?"
You nod. "Yes. I've done some dance photography and I really love it. I think photography can capture a lot more than just the dance, especially with really passionate dancers. Which is why I wanted to photograph you.  Sorry, that sounded cheesy."
"No, it's fine," Hwanwoong says, grinning. "I've seen your photos, I think I know what you mean.
You nod. "Yeah. Um. I'll be taking photos from all sorts of angles and you will have to go through the routine several times. Please let me know if I do anything that makes you uncomfortable."
"Of course," he says. "I've done photoshoots before."
You nod. "Right. Uh. Yeah." You're nervous. This is your first time photographing an idol, so you don't know exactly how to handle this.
"Don't be so nervous," he says. "Imagine we're friends. You don't have to be so formal. I know that, as an idol, I can be intimidating. But I'm not scary, I promise." He smiles brightly, and you can feel butterflies erupt in your stomach. You nod and look away.
Tumblr media
You and Hwanwoong have been taking photos for a good twenty-five minutes. After you took some initial photos of him, standing in a starting position, you had him start his routine. You would be lying if you didn't get all fuzzy and shy and flustered whenever he makes eye contact with the camera or winks at you playfully after making a flirtatious joke.
"Where would you like me to look?" Hwanwoong asks. "Eyes closed? Eyes forward? The camera? Your pretty face?"
He winks, and you can feel your cheeks heating up. You look away and clear your throat.
"Let's start with eyes forward, if that's okay," you mumble. "And we can move on to you looking at the camera later. If that's alright with you."
As the accompanying music plays in the background, Hwanwoong dances elegantly. You take photos from several angles. When he goes through the routine once, you take photos from a lower angle. And when he goes through a second time, you take them from the side. You make sure to capture his elegant movements, the way his arms stretch out and his wrists are bent.
"Great," you say, clicking through the photos to review them quickly. "Let me quickly adjust the lighting, and then I'll have you looking at the camera. Does that sound good?"
"Sounds great!" He smiles brightly, and you can feel the corners of your lips raising. His smile is so contagious.aq
You walk over to the lamp and adjust its position, moving it to the side and angling it so it'll be shining right on the spot where Hwanwoong will cross over, a place where he will be in a pose that you need to capture in a specific light. You know it'll be stunning.
As you start adjusting your camera a bit, clicking through some of the previous photos to figure out what did and didn't work, you can feel a pair of eyes watching you. You ignore it, Hwanwoong staring at you. Perhaps he's just curious about photography.
You move to kneel down and point your camera at Hwanwoong. He's still staring at you, though his eyes are distant, almost like he's staring through you. He has a soft smile on his face. Not a creepy one. More like a daydreamy smile. He looks more like a Disney prince than you could have imagined.
You nod to him to signal that you're ready for him to start his routine, but he simply slowly blinks.
"Mr. Yeo?" you ask. Hwanwoong nods softly, but doesn't say anything. You clear your throat and speak louder.
"Mr. Yeo, can you please either focus on the dance or the camera and not at me?" you say. Hwanwoong blinks, broken from his trance and smiles that annoyingly adorable smile that you'd spent all morning trying to ignore.
"Of course," he says, resuming his original position. "Ready?" he asks. You give him a thumbs up, and he gives you a quick wink before starting the routine.
You snap photos throughout. His intense gaze, staring into the camera, makes you feel a bit flustered. You try to focus hard on taking photos, Hwanwoong's powerful stare is distracting, causing you to miss a couple great shots.
After he stops, you smile.
"That was great," you say, nodding. "Could you please go through it one more time, exactly as you just did? I need to retake some photos."
"Sure!" he says, smiling brightly. You're very shocked by the switch between his powerful, intense self when he's performing, and his pleasant, cheerful attitude otherwise. He goes from an elegant tiger to a flower petal in the blink of an eye.
After a few more minutes, your time starts to come to a close. Hwanwoong offers to help you pack up your stuff--there isn't much, but he's sweet.
"Thank you for being willing to do this shoot," you say after the end. "I'm really grateful for this opportunity. I will have these photos edited, and I'll be in conversation with the company for publishing stuff."
"Great!" Hwanwoong says. "Thank you for reaching out. It was an honor to work with you, and I had a great time."
You nod and head for the doorway when Hwanwoong calls out.
"Hey, Y/L/N?" he asks. You stop and raise an eyebrow curiously. Hwanwoong walks over and grins nervously, shifting from one foot to the other. "I would love to do another photoshoot with you at some point in the future. Would you be willing to possibly . . . exchange phone numbers?"
You swear you almost faint on the spot. Exchanging phone numbers? With Yeo Hwanwoong? From ONEUS?
"I--uh--well, I--yes!" you stutter nervously. "I mean--yes! Of course!"
Hwanwoong grins mischievously and laughs a bit. He must have noticed he got you a bit flustered and surprised, but he doesn't say anything. Instead, he reaches for his back pocket and takes out his phone. "Great! I can tell you my number first, or you can tell me yours."

The Arrangement //
Shoto Todoroki x Fem! Reader
Part One: The Mall Incident
Part Two
Summary: Your father is a particularly strong pro hero, and owns his own agency, however, he seemingly has picked an opportunity for you to be the tie between his agency, and pro hero Endeavor's agency.
Authors Note:
One; I'm planning this to be a three part fic, my next update hopefully on Friday May 15th ! Let me know if you'd like to be on this specific taglist, or even a taglist for anything I post !
Two; I wanted to have a little fun in this, so I added in an OC of mine! I made the reader attend an unnamed school, where her friends wouldn't be main characters from MHA, and decided to throw in Maiko (my OC) anyways, I hope you enjoy !
Tumblr media
"A student from UA? Is father okay? I thought he hated that school?" You had to stop yourself, had you really heard your mother right?
She sighed heavily, shaking her head slightly, "He does, however, your father is willing to look past the fact as long as everything goes according to plan"
This time, it was your turn to sigh.
This 'plan' was one of you meeting some student, your parents meeting, and at the end of the day, agreeing to a marriage after graduation.
You knew that you really had no choice in the matter, which is why you had never put up a fight about it, but it didn't mean that you were particularly happy about it.
Quietly, you stood up, excusing yourself from the table and your mother, leaving the dainty tea cup where it sat.
"Well, since the meeting with this student will be this weekend, I'm going to go out and buy an outfit for it." You bowed your head slightly before turning and leaving the room.
Now out of sight of your mother, you stretched, stifling a yawn as you made your way to your room, grabbing your phone from your pocket, sending a quick message to your closest friend, asking if she'd accompany you to the mall.
The two of you attended a private academy focused on teaching it's students to not only strengthen their quirks, or accelerate their academics, but also in etiquette and manners. Everything was about being proper and elite.
It was the very same school that your father had transferred to after his time at UA.
You personally didn't quite like it there, at times some students tried to pick on you, or the teachers would reprimand you for even the slightest mistake.
But, just like the marriage arrangement, you had no choice in what school you attended, your father was hellbent on you following his steps, and staying the hell away from UA.
Regardless, you had eventually made some friends, and for the first few years, you scored in the top of your class.
"Oh, (Y/n) while you're out, would you mind picking up a few things for me?" Your mother's voice rang out from behind your door, breaking your train of thoughts.
"Just make me a list, and leave it on the counter!"
It didn't take long for you to change out of your uniform and into something comfier, or for you to grab your messenger style purse, or to find the list from your mother. With your father gone, there were no distractions or unnecessary lectures.
What took the most time was getting to the mall. You could have driven, but it was nice out, the sky was clear of clouds, and there was a light breeze that flowed through the leaves in the trees.
So, you took to walking. Though, when you got to the mall, your best friend was standing with her arms crossed and a bored look on her face.
"(Y/N)! There you are! I've been waiting for hours!" She gave a dramatic sigh as you walked over.
"Calm down Maiko ! " you chuckled, she was almost always over dramatic, something that had drawn you to her in the first place.
She gave you a playful wink, and nodded her head to the doors, starting to walk inside, "Whatever, we both know that I can't calm down," she paused, giving small jazz hands, "I've got constant anxiety"
"Ah, the curse of having a third eye quirk," You followed behind, then moved to the side of her.
"Oh! What's the occasion for today's trip?" Maiko tucked a piece of light brown hair behind her ear, eyeing you as she waited for a response.
You hesitated, she still didn't know about the whole arranged marriage, and it had been about a month since you had found out.
"Oh...my family and I are meeting another family for some business thing, so I needed to get a new outfit in case they have a son or daughter our age, " You spouted off a lie, knowing that she'd fall for it, only because she trusted you.
"Ooooh another potential merger for your dad's hero agency?"
You nodded, pausing as your stomach gave a quiet rumble.
Despite the lunch you were having with your mother earlier, you didn't really eat.
"Hey, let's get something to eat first," You point to the nearest food outlet.
Before you know it, Maiko and you are each tossing fries to the other, both failing to catch most in your mouth, but you are having a good time regardless.
Once out of fries, you and her are left with your milkshakes, hers chocolate, and your's strawberry. Something kind of impulsive as you haven't had one strawberry flavored in a few years.
"Hey, I think we could probably take these with us to go look for an outfit," Maiko picks hers up, already a third of it gone.
With a nod, you stand up, grabbing your shake and bag, waiting for Maiko before heading off to your favorite store.
"Hey what about this?" She held up a pleated, light blue skirt, it would stop just above your knees, and complimented you very well, "It even has real pockets!"
"And I could wear it with this shirt...and maybe the jean jacket we found earlier?" You smiled happily, holding up a plain white t-shirt, a small v neck cut, nothing too extreme but not too plain.
Your friend placed the skirt into your basket, and you followed suit with the shirt. All that was needed now, would be to grab the jean jacket from earlier.
However, as you turned, you ran into a...hard surface and along with you, came your half finished milkshake.
You stumbled back, eyes wide as you realized what had just happened.
"Oh my gosh, I am so-"
But the male cut you off, his voice monotone as he did, "Save it, just move out of the way, I need to clean my shirt,"
You quietly moved to the side, watching as the moody stranger walked away, leaving you and Maiko to recover.
He had red hair...well only half of his hair was red, and the other half was white, leaving you to wonder how much hair dye it had taken to get it to look so perfect.
"Well...I wish I could've helped you see that coming...but uh..I got the jacket?" She smiled sheepishly, causing you to let out a nervous laugh, releasing the tension you didn't know you had.
"Okay, cmon lets go pay!" You turned, still reeling from the encounter with that guy..but hey, at least you wouldn't be seeing him again!
So, with that thought in mind, Maiko and yourself brought your chosen outfit to the front counters, paid and left the store.
"Hey, are you doing anything tonight?" You turned to Maiko after some five minutes, a thought in the back of your mind, nagging at you since you had left the house to meet her.
"I don't think so! Why, is your mom cooking tonight? Anything she makes is always better than your dads...or yours," she poked her tongue out at you.
"Wha?! Hey! Im not that bad of a cook!" You pouted and crossed your arms, turning away from her, "Well I did have something to tell you but now its not happening,"
She immediately moved in front of you, "Wait no! Your cooking is good! Just tell me the news!"
"It'll have to wait for my house, it's kind of big news…"
And with that, the two of you set off for your house, Maiko calling her mom and letting her know where she'd be for the night.
The walk was spent talking about anything and everything, and at one point Maiko tripping and you having to catch her, but hey, that's what friends are for.
As you approached your house, you spotted your fathers car in the driveway, causing you to screw your face up in dread.
Hopefully he didn't have a lecture for you, especially if Maiko was here. You had always hated how he seemed to pick on you whenever your friends were over.
And much to your dismay, when you walked inside he met you with a sour look, "(Y/n), where have you been? Don't forget about this weekend's meeting, not to mention the exams coming up,"
You bit back a response about how the exams were two months away, and instead just nodded your head, busying yourself with slipping your shoes off, "I was buying a new outfit for our meeting. I told mother before I left."
He paused, now eyeing you and Maiko, "And came home with...Fujino was it?"
She nodded, even though she practically lived at your house for a week at a time due to the amount of sleep overs you had, your father had barely bothered to remember her name.
"Im sorry for not telling you ahead of time, Sir." She bowed her head slightly, only really apologizing because she knew that if she didn't, it would come down on you.
"Make your way to (Y/n)'s room, I still need to have a few words with her," he commanded, waiting for her to go up the stairs before he continued.
"And (Y/n), do not forget how important this marriage arrangement is. The Todoroki family is powerful, Endeavor is rising in his ranks as a hero, and his son will follow suit. You have to make sure that you are seen as exemplary, no mistakes can be made. Do you understand?"
You paused, heart hanging heavy, "Yes father…"
Once he let you go, you made your way to the top of the stairs, seeing that Maiko was waiting for you, a worried look in her eyes, "So...a marriage proposal?"
"Welcome to the news I had for you…"
You two moved into your room, the bag of clothes dropped onto the floor, and you climbed onto your bed, grabbing an orange bunny plush, hugging it to your chest.
"Okay so I wanted to tell you about the arrangement but...I dunno, its hard. I'm having my choice taken away from me and for what? So my father and this other hero to have a more powerful agency?"
"(Y/n)...im so sorry that you've been going through this alone. I'm here for you, whatever you need!" She moved to a swinging chair you had, sitting in it carefully as she thought for a moment, "So, you've never met this guy or his family?"
"At most I know his family name. But Im too busy focusing on school work to pay attention to how his father is "So high up the ranks" or whatever. Its like my father thinks that this 'Endeavor' guy is the number two pro hero or something…" You puffed out a breath of air, pursing your lips as you thought quietly.
Maiko stared at you for a few minutes, blinking a few times as she tried to break the news to you.
"Uhh..Endeavor...as in Enji Todoroki?"
You looked up, nodding quietly at her puzzled look.
"(Y/n) he is the number two hero...or wait..if All Might retired a few years back... then number one actually!" She hummed as she herself started to think but eventually shook her head, eyes widening.
Maiko quickly pulled out her phone, typing hurriedly into it and gasping, "(Y/n) wait! His son goes to UA! His son is reportedly one of the Big Three of his class!" She stopped, scrolling, "uh oh…"
At this, you scrambled from your spot to her, pulling the phone from her hand to look at what the cause of this 'uh oh' was.
It was a picture.  A picture of Endeavour's son. He had red and white hair, and a glare so deadly it probably would kill someone on sight.
But what got you more was the fact that this was the guy from the mall earlier.  You had totally spilled a strawberry shake all over the number one hero's son, and the guy who you would be marrying after graduation.
"This is...this is fucked. Im so screwed! Not only did I embarrass myself but now I've probably made it seem like im a clumsy girl who likes to shop all the time and now this...Todoroki guy is going to tell his father about me and then it'll ruin the arrangement and my father will kill me." You spouted off more worries until Maiko grabbed your shoulders, shaking you lightly.
"Hey! We aren't planning your funeral yet! Maybe we can meet up with him before you have to meet with his dad! I think I know one of the students at UA!"
You looked to her, your breathing returning to normal as you nodded along, maybe that could work after all.
"Okay so, we ask whoever you know to get his number and text him about how it was me who spilled the drink and I wanted to apologize...and that Im also the girl he's meeting this weekend!"
Maiko punched her fist into the palm of her hand, "Okay, lets set this plan into action! I'll text Kirishima!"
You eyed her, realizing that you had never questioned how she knew anyone at UA, "While you do that, mind explaining to me about whoever this Kirishima is?"
She only smiled for a moment, putting her phone down after sending him a message about Todoroki, "Oh! He and I work in the same coffee shop! Not everyone is super rich you know, but he's pretty nice guy, kinda cute too. But, you know how my mom is. Im surprised that she let me be friends with you, I swear, she's scared of anyone!"
You gave a 'Mhhm' to her, knowing full and well that this was the coworker who she tended to talk about but never named, knowing that you'd probably show up to her work to try and get more information.  But hey, you'd leave it at that for now.
"Well...I guess that now we wait for Kirishima to hopefully send us Todoroki's number?'
"Now we wait! And with our good luck, by Wednesday we can smoothen out what happened at the mall…"
You nodded once, as much as this plan seemed rickety, you were willing to take the chance. While you hated the idea of a marriage to whoever this young hero may be, you know that if you messed it up, your father would never let you live it down.

BokuAka
Bokuto POV
I was in the gym setting everything up for an upcoming practice match in a few hours when I heard the door swing open. I looked over to see Akaashi, I was surprised to say the least. He walked over to me and hugged me without saying anything. I hugged him back and mumbled, ‘‘What’s wrong? Shouldn't you be in class?’’ I continued to hold him in my arms. He didn’t say anything. I stood there with my arms around him and waited patiently for an answer.
Akaashi POV
I was sitting in class waiting for the bell to ring which sadly wouldn’t be for another hour. The people sitting behind me kept making rude comments and whispering slurs to me to make sure I could hear them. At first I just ignored them but it started becoming too much. I got up and walked out of class going to the gym to see Bokuto knowing he was setting up for our practice match.
I walked into the gym and went over to him hugging him not saying anything, he wrapped his arms around me and asked if I was okay but I remained silent still. After awhile I looked up at him and it was clear that I was upset he softly caressed my cheek and looked worried, he repeated, ‘‘What’s wrong?’’ I just shook my head softly and he nodded knowing that I didn’t want to talk about it.
I smiled softly and asked, ‘‘Do you need any help?’’ He nodded. We finished putting up the net and he asked if I wanted to practice to pass the time to which I nodded softly and set a few shots for him.
Bokuto POV
We practiced for a while until the rest of the team arrived. I explained to them that Nekoma was coming for a practice match and we did our stretches waiting for them to arrive. All throughout warm ups I couldn't help but keep looking at Akaashi with worry.
Nekoma finally arrived and we greeted them and I instantly pulled Kuroo aside and explained what happened, "Maybe he just wanted to come see you." Kuroo suggested and as much as I liked that idea I wasn't convinced.
After allowing Nekoma to do their stretches we all got into place for the game. We played well and did our best but Nekoma won the game. We congratulated them and all hung out before Nekoma left to go home.
Akaashi POV
We lost the game. I just want to go home and relax to forget about my terrible day. Bokuto came over to me and hugged me, it was him and I who were cleaning the gym. I hugged him back and looked up at him. He stayed silent for a while then asked the same question as before, "What's wrong?" I didn't want to worry him so I just shook my head again.
Bokuto looked at me and sighed softly, "Akaashi please tell me what happened cause it'll bother me all night if I don't know." He spoke softly. I hesitated but explained that for the past couple weeks three guys in my class were making rude and threatening comments. Bokuto seemed furious, "Who are they!?" I tensed at his tone and he immediately apologized and calmed himself.
After a few minutes he asked again and I told him. He continued to hold me softly and mumbled something which I couldn't hear. We finished cleaning and left the gym walking together. "Akaashi do you want to come spend the night at my place?" He asked softly and I just nodded.
Bokuto POV
We arrived at my house and went up to my room sitting on my bed. He leaned against me lightly and I smiled holding him softly. I looked down at him and kissed his forehead softly and he smiled. Sitting with him I was trying to think of a way to tell Akaashi that I love him. I was graduating soon so I needed to tell him soon.
Decided to just test my luck and tilted his head up to look at me and hovered my lips near his and to my surprise he closed the gap kissing me sweetly. He pulled away after a short but loving kiss and smiled softly, "How long?" He asked and I looked at him confused. He giggled and clarified, "How long have you liked me?" I thought and mumbled since I've met him. He nodded and nuzzled against my neck.
All of that panic and all of that worry to confess turnt out to be for nothing. When we told Kuroo and Kenma they said it was obvious and so did everyone else. Even after graduation I make sure to go to all his games and visit him as much as I can.
Akaashi POV
The finals. They're today and I am beyond terrified. Ever since Bokuto graduated I've been the captain. We were getting ready for the game and I was looking for Bokuto. Out of all the games he could miss why this one. Hopefully he'll show up soon. Not long after the game began. We played vigilantly and we won. We all celebrated and I looked to stand and didn't see Bokuto. I felt slightly betrayed as he had promised to come watch.
We walked over to the coach and he smiled at us. He waved me over and I looked at him waiting to hear what he'd say. "There's someone waiting outside for you." He spoke quietly.
I nodded thanking him and made my way outside. I was shocked when I felt two arms wrap around me and I turnt quickly and saw Bokuto. I hugged him tightly and smiled. He kissed me passionately to which I did the same. Pulling away he had a big smile and he spoke gently, "I watched the whole thing love" I smiled more and pulled him into a deep and passionate kiss once again.
