Okay, I have a lot of information to throw at you guys so here we go! First, I told you I would make a new post for this story since it was getting so long. Second, I'm compiling all of this onto AO3 for easier reading! The polls/voting, of course, will still be taking place here on tumblr at the end of each update/post.

Elsa didn’t waste any time thinking or wondering if, instead of a gunshot, it had been some kind of firework on those annoying poppers they sold around the 4th of July. Instead she figured better safe than sorry and ducked into the closest alleway, trying to be quiet as she wedged herself between an overflowing dumpster and a brick wall.

Forcing herself to try and not have some kind of panic attack, Elsa was pretty sure her heart stopped when she heard rapid footsteps followed by someone slamming up against the dumpster she was hiding behind. She fought the urge to try and move further back or scrunch herself up more and instead focused on staying as still as possible as she listened to what was happening. 

She felt the dumpster rattle briefly, as if someone had pushed against it before stopping. Considering she heard harsh, breathless panting, she had to assume whoever had slammed into it had then used it to get their balance back. 

Straining to hear anything else, Elsa almost flinched when she heard a deep voice suddenly talking. “Alleyway. Somewhere between 6th and 7th over by Broad. Get here. Now.” Alright. Definitely a man who had come slamming up against the dumpster and he had probably just talked to someone on a phone. It was a fifty-fifty considering where she lived. 

Feeling the dumpster rattle again, Elsa swallowed and tried to think on what she should do or if she should just stay still and hope and wait whoever it was would leave soon. She then jumped all over again when she heard yelling and screaming coming from what was probably only a block or two away. 

It took a couple seconds for her to make anything out, but eventually she heard, “-fucking find him and take him the fuck out!” 

“Fuck,” the man swore, harsh and quiet, before a few moments of silence passed. Then the dumpster was moving away from the wall. 

This time she was absolutely certain her heart stopped — even more so when she looked over to see that the man was slipping between the dumpster and the wall to sit down and hide like she had and was now looking right at her. 

She debated screaming for help, but ruled that out when she remembered about the yelling about taking someone out (which meant killing, she was certain of that). She then thought about crying and looking pathetic and sad enough that the idea of killing her wouldn’t even occur. Then she actually looked at the man sitting beside her. He… didn’t look good.

What was once probably a nice suit was now torn up and scuffed and soaked with blood, Elsa noting that the man had been shot at least two or three times and maybe even stabbed once. One of them looked to have been way too close to something important in his chest and Elsa was pretty sure most people died when they had two or three bullet wounds along with a possible stabbing. 

Tearing her gaze away she saw that the man was looking at her just as intensely and Elsa was now absolutely certain that she had no idea on what to do. 

The yelling was only a street away, too.

my rankings on the expansion pack ideas

first Expansion Pack ideas and on my highest list, i wished they could refresh "island Living" because of the descriptions but since they won't do that, i want more beach worlds so this comes in as handy, i just love the idea of it, it have beach activities there and i'm in for the beach activities, hopefully Mermaids will be usefull in that world since it says something like "underwater landscapes", i've always wanted a pack which is the complete opposite of "Snowy Escape" so hopefully it comes out in the near future, i think the idea based on summer activities are great

this is on my second highest list because we only have a few kits and 1 stuff pack based on them and i'm talking about little kids, they're mostly forgotten so they deserves to have their own pack and it have a beach world, more activities for little kids, skills for kids and hopefully they have more aspirations, it's a wish coming true, it's a win-win for me ^u^

i didn't knew what to think of it at first but when it said "elder activities" i was like "it's about time" they're the MOST forgotten age from all the other stages, (growing together is a different story because it's a family pack) i love the idea of having a elder pack (i do think it sounds more like a game pack to me) it's on my third list when it comes to ideas

sounds like "Jungle Adventure" and "island Living" combined but i actually like the idea of having an another beach world, the more beach worlds we have, the better and it's also quite based on little kids but maybe to a bit lesser extent than Expansion Pack 7 idea but i live for more children pack, the fourth expansion pack idea and it's on my fourth wanted list when it comes to ideas

yes to the 80's/90's Expansion Pack, i'm born in late 90's so i can't tell how things used to be but it gives me The Sims 2 vibes for some reasons and i'm in for the nostalgia feeling in the game and maybe i'd experience how the 80's/90's life feels like, i'm definitely in for newspaper, we need options like word search, reading the news, make wads or make an airplane out of it, find a job to name a few, classic games, book store, landline phones, waterslides, i'm in for all that, we need more store options like clothes store, i feel like life was so simple back then, i want to life in the world where life looked so simple so i'm definitely in for that, it's on my fifth wanted list when it comes to ideas (i do think some of them should be basegame though)

i quite likes the ideas of this pack, i want the burglar back, i want more dramas and i'm in for the dramas in this pack, i want "the bad guys" characters in the sims so it comes in as usefull in my opinion, even with all the packs it has to offer, even with parenthood, growing together and for rent packs, the dramas are barely there, with this pack idea i can create dramas, so i quite like the ideas with what it has to offer based on the descriptions, it's on my sixth list

i'm somehow interested in this idea, it's like the opposite of the 80's/90's pack ideas but i'm in for more diversity in the game and this is quite made for me, i hope it's an active career like they did with "Get To Work" pack which came with 3 active careers, i do can wait for a little bit and it's on my seventh list when it comes to pack ideas

i'm somehow interested in this pack, it can be usefull for legacy or decade challenge, the more traditional ways of dealing with things or maybe even creating a royal family to fit in the monarchy, the ideas aren't bad but it's just not something i'd buy right away and adding pets in this pack is a terrible idea if you ask me, it's on my eighth list with the Expansion Pack ideas

i have no word for it, it should be in a spin off The Sims 4 game like castaway (but in The Sims 2), the DS one of The Sims 2, life stories, pet stories, this isn't even necessary to add them in The Sims 4 game, i like the idea of it, just not in The Sims 4 with the other packs (Strangerville should've been a spin-off game from The Sims 4 too if i'm being honest)

it's on my ninth list when it comes to Expansion Pack ideas

i love the first 3 ideas the most with what i've ranked, it's on my wanted list, like i said we need more beach worlds, activities on children and we need more activities to do for elders

i love the idea of Expansion Pack 4, 8 and 6, it's not on my priority list but it's definitely something i want in the game and i live for these ideas

i quite like the idea of technology from Expansion Pack 5 but i can wait for a little bit even if it does comes out in the future, the other 2 i'm somewhat interested but not something i'd buy right away, like i said i like the idea of Expansion Pack 3 but more like as a spin-off game but maybe i'll give it a try in the future

Urgent!! I'm nonpassing ftm and somehow got assigned to a male-only dorm. How TF do I shower?!?!?!?!

I lived on campus for my freshman and sophomore years of college (I’m currently a junior and my partner and I are renting an apartment off-campus for our junior and senior years). We didn’t live together, but we both were in mixed gender dorms.

Anyway, my partner and I are both trans, and I got an accomodation to have a single for disability reasons (unrelated to being trans) and there were 3 bathrooms in my dorm hall but each was private (ie had only one toilet and one shower and you could lock the door to use it). My partner got accomodations for a semi-private bathroom (which is shared with only one other person).

Some dorms that are single gender-gender still have shower stalls or curtained-off shower areas so you don’t have the open locker room pit showers (those are extremely rare for modern dorm buildings) and that might be something you’re more comfortable with, so investigating what the bathroom looks like might be the first step.

If you do have a certain about of privacy with the shower (ie nobody can see you while you are in the shower) then you can just bring your towel in with you and keep a change of clothes nearby so you can strategically cover yourself.

And I know at some colleges they aren’t having the usual communal shower situation because of covid-19, so it might not be an issue- you should check and see how many people they’re allowing in the bathrooms and showers at the same time!

And you could always try confidently showering in the men’s bathroom in the dorm that you were assigned to (even though you don’t pass as male) if you have some confidence. If you’re worried about being bullied/harassed in the men’s showers because you aren’t passing yet, you could see if you can get a buddy in your dorm to come with you to stand guard and keep you company who will tell guys to back off if they say something.

But if you do have showers that are somewhat exposed or bathrooms that don’t give you enough privacy for your comfort, then you could choose one of these options for housing/showering:

See if you can stay in the dorm room that you are currently living in (if you like living there) but get permission to shower somewhere else in a mixed-gender dorm or women’s dorm

Ask to stay in a men’s only dorm but get an accommodation for a private or semi-private bathroom (on the basis of anxiety/gender dysphoria/being pre-transition)

Do virtual learning from home while you start/continue your medical transition (less convenient?)

Ask to be reassigned to a women’s dorm (not ideal, especially if/when you start passing)

Ask to be reassigned to a mixed-gender/all-gender dorm

See if you can rent an apartment off-campus (less convenient?)

See if you can live in a co-op community on campus if you have one (like housing specifically for LGBTQ people, or science students, etc)

Shower in the sports center or a friend’s dorm (less convenient?)

You could talk about this with:

Whoever is in charge of making dorm assignments (I’d look on the website to see who is in charge of the residence life office)

Your disability services office (if you have one)

The diversity/equity/inclusion office (if you have one)

Your RA (if you’re comfortable disclosing the issue to them!) and see who they suggest contacting

Any other trans students to get their ideas on what other trans students on your campus have done in the past

If your campus has a GSA or other LGBTQIA+ club, contact the club/the club’s presidents and get their tips on how to navigate the situation

Not ideal, but I spent a semester where I'd pack my towels and shower stuff in a bag, walk across camus, shower in a single stall, dry off, get dressed, and then walk back to my room. No one in college will ever think to ask why you're leaving (could be for any reason) and dorms are big enough people will just assume you live down the hall

All the dorms I’ve been to (across probably more than 5 or 6 universities in various states) have either private showers in the room or shower stalls in a communal bathroom. I’ve never seen pit showers except maybe in a gym/rec facility? And even then most have stalls with curtains.

I live in a co-ed ROTC dorm, and we have communal bathrooms (normal student dorms here have private bathrooms). I even have to go up a flight of stairs to shower since there are only female bathrooms every other floor. We wear bathrobes, and everyone is fine 👍

I would absolutely contact the Residence Life department (or whoever runs the dorms) of your institution. Reslife people tend to be very LGBT+ and very helpful people by nature, otherwise they wouldn’t be in the field of college hospitality. Explain your situation however you feel most comfortable; ask for a single room, a decent roommate, and/or a mixed gender dorm. They should be happy to make the change.

If that falls through, I’d talk to your hall director once you get moved in; RAs can be a bit of a grab bag since they’re typically being RAs for just a year or two to cut down on college costs. HDs, however, do hall director things for a living and have had more training on handling all types of situations, not to mention that they have more power to actually change things for you.

If all else fails, I don’t think any dorm has open locker room type showers; the ones in the single gender dorms at my university had two sections that were closed off by curtains from the rest of the bathroom, so you had a space to change privately, even if it’s cramped. Bring a bathrobe you like and you should be okay!
