features a gn!reader and good ol’ bard guy venti (with as much fluff as i can possibly cram in)

<3 “have you ever wished to fly, windblume?”

<3 midnight. clear skies. lying on the grass on that island in the middle of cider lake. it’s beautiful, really, and your boyfriend may be extremely sleepy, but he’s keeping himself awake for you. that does mean sleep rambles though.

<3 you nod, and he lets out a tired giggle. “flying is so much fun, y’know? the wind in your hair, the feeling of being in mid-air, life without a single care…” he put one of his hands behind his head, raising the other to hold yours. 

<3 it’s nice, and it’s peaceful. a couple of cicadas chirp. there’s a word to explain this, but you aren’t quite sure what it is.

<3 “idyllic, isn’t it?” venti mumbles beside you, nestling himself into the crook of your arm. “i wanna live like this every day with you, but… that would be a bit boring, wouldn’t it? man, i sure must be tired, huh…” he yawns.

<3 “i think a mix of it would be nice, then,” you reply, gazing up at the moon. “part adventuring, part relaxing, and being able to do it all with you. what do you think?” you say, turning to face your lover.

<3 he smiles, his eyes crinkling. “there really should be more songs about you, y’know?”

<3 “don’t you think you’ve written enough, venti?”

<3 “i’ll write enough to make it into a story of you, then.”

<3 “oh?” your voice is laced with amusement. “and why’s that?”

<3 “because i’m not sad anymore,” he replies, finally closing my eyes. “thank you for giving me peace, and thank you for letting me stay.” he gives you a peck on the cheek, smiles, and goes to sleep.

<3 “goodnight, my breeze.”
