PART I
MASTERLIST
Y/N stormed into the drug store down the block from her an Ruby's apartment, throwing out wary glances to make sure no one was watching her. She headed to the back and grabbed several boxes, tucking them underneath her arm, rushing to the only cashier she spotted.
She set down the tests and remained wordless as she paid for the small pile. She grabbed the bag eagerly and quickly headed back home, ready to get some more answers.
Just as she walked out of the door, and into the sunny afternoon, she crashed into another body. She let out an annoyed oof as tumbled to the ground, in a tangle with the other person, "Jesus H. Christ!"
"Oh my God, I am so sorry," the man's voice reached her ears and she stilled as she realized she knew this person.
Standing up, she brushed herself off and started to get her discarded purchases, but he had to be a gentleman and help, "it's fine, don't worry about it."
"Y/N?" he asked as she straightened up and gave him a tight lipped smile.
"Hey...you..."
"Sebastian," he finished for her and she mentally smacked herself. How could she forget his name - one of the men that might have gotten her pregnant, "I was wondering if I'd ever see you again. You never called."
"Yeah, I've just been busy, really it's nothing personal," she stammered as she tucked the bag under her arm, "well, I should get going."
"Wait," he said as he bent down and picked up a box and tried to take a look at it, "you forgot this."
"Thanks!" She almost shouted as she ripped the box from his hands, and sped off down the street, ignored his call of her name. She hoped he hadn't looked at it closely enough to see what it was.
“Y/N?!” She heard him call after her and she increased her pace, hoping he wasn’t going to follow her. Y/N swallowed the lump in her throat and but didn’t turn around and carried on.
Y/N sat on the counter her kitchen counter, eating out of a container of ice cream as she waited for the timer on her phone to go off. She sighed at her own predicament, but knew it was her partly her own fault.
“Hey, girl. What are you doing home, I thought you were working in the office today?“ Ruby asked as she walked and set her stuff down on the counter, “what happened?“
“It’s a long story,” she sighed as she set down the carton down, “take a look in the bathroom.”
“The bathroom, what are you on about?” she raised her eyebrows as she walked down the hall and entered the room, flicked on the lights and immediately let out a gasp of surprise, “Y/N! What the fuck!? I thought you were on birth control?!
“I was! I stopped taking it NAME and I broke up. I figured I wouldn’t need it for a while. Using protection wasn’t exactly on my mind last weekend,” she groaned as she rubbed her face. She picked up her phone and saw that the timer had run out, “I guess it’s time to go and see what my fate is.”
“Oh Y/N,” Ruby said as she put her arms around her best friend, wiping away the tear that had started trickling down Y/N’s face, “you know you’ll always have me here to support you.”
“Thanks,” she said as she grabbed the tests off the kitchen counter and looked at all of them. Her stomach dropped as her suspicions were confirmed and the tests indicated that she was indeed pregnant, “well fuck me.”
“What are you going to do?” Ruby asked as Y/N dropped the tests in the small waste bin, “I’m here to support whatever decision you make.”
“I don’t know,” Y/N admitted as she headed to her bedroom, “I’m going to take a nap. Maybe that’ll give me some answers.”
“If you need anything let me know,” Ruby said as Y/N nodded and quietly closed her door. A nap probably wouldn’t help anything, but it was the best idea she had at that moment.
Tapping her chin with her pen, Y/N stared at her computer screen, thoughts anywhere but the work in front of her. Sighing, she tossed her pen onto her desk, grabbed her water bottle and took a long drag from it. Her phone rang, drawing her out of her thoughts; she grabbed it with an enthused, “hello?”
“Mr. Evans is on the line for you,” her assistant was too cheery for this time of the morning, “shall I patch him through?”
“Umm, yeah, go ahead,” she pulled her notepad closer to her, popping in her ear piece, ready to take some notes. After she heard a click, she paused for a moment before putting on a fake cheery voice, “hello Chris. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Hello again, lovely Y/N. I went over the concepts you sent me earlier this week. I like them, but I was wondering if you had time to go over some comments and ideas?” he asked and she rolled her eyes, hoping this wouldn’t take too long.
“Of course,” she picked up her pen again ready to start writing, “go on - I’m all ears.”
“Sure, and let me just add one thing before we start,” he cleared his throat and Y/N immediately knew where this was going, “I had a lovely time last week. If you’re available, I’d like to take you out again sometime.”
“I...had a lovely time as well,” she admitted; while things were not exactly panning out as she had planned, she couldn’t deny that he was a gentleman and she had a great time as well, “unfortunately things aren’t going so well right, so I must decline the offer. But please, it’s not you at all, it’s all me.”
“If you ever change your mind, please let me know,” he sounded somewhat defeated, but tried to hide it feebly, “anyways, onto business. Let’s start with the first idea.”
“Mhmm,” she commented awkwardly.
As Y/N was finishing writing some notes, Chris still going on in her ear, Deirdre opened her office door, unaware that she was still on the phone. She looked at her notes before announcing, “Y/N, your doctor called to confirm your appointment for next week, and they’ll perform your an ultrasound to confirm your pregnancy.”
Y/N looked up at Deirdre in shock as she processed what happened. She narrowed her eyes and pointed at her earpiece as she hissed, “get out!”
Deirdre’s face fell as she realized she was still on the phone and rushed out, slamming the door behind her.
“Y/N? What was that?” Chris asked as she fell silent. He had heard everything. Of course he had.
“That was nothing, but I’ve gotta go, I’ve got lots of great notes and I’ll be in touch,” she said as she ended the call and threw her ear piece onto the desk. She let out a deep breath as she laid her head down on her desk and tried to calm herself. She felt her phone vibrate and checked it only to find a text from Chris.
What’s going on? Can you call me?”
She sighed and left the message on the read, wondering what on earth she was going to do.
Sipping her cup of tea, Y/N flipped the page of her book, happy to have the bustling noise of the restaurant around her. She had decided to get out of the office for the afternoon, it had been another stressful week, and decided that a nice quiet lunch was necessary.
She had her pregnancy confirmed at her doctor’s appointment, knowing she only had a small window to make a decision about what to do. Ruby had been more than supportive of her, letting her know she’d be there for her every step of the way. That, however, didn’t make anything easier.
Y/N looked up when she saw someone brushed by her, but failed to do so gracefully, tripping over her chair leg and falling, grabbing the chair and knocking her purse down along with it.
“Are you okay?!” she asked as she stood up to help the person. She let out a small, but audible gasp when she saw who it was; Tom of course.
“Y/N, how lovely to see you again. I wish it was under different circumstances,” he said as he brushed off his suit and started to help her pick up her stuff. She hastily grabbed her purse and started to throw the stuff back into it. Tom grabbed something and stopped when he looked at it and saw what it was. His brow furrowed as he realized he was looking at a sonogram.
Y/N ripped the pictures out of his hand and stuff it into her bag, jumping up quickly, throwing a large bill onto the table and headed out of the restaurant, trying to evade Tom as quickly as possible.
He was confused, and concerned, but followed, trying to see what was going on, “Y/N! Please wait!”
She made it to the end of the block, when to her complete chagrin, she came up Sebastian, walking in her direction. He looked up from his phone and smiled when he saw her standing there, “hey, Y/N!”
“Fucckkkk,” she hissed to herself as she realized she was surrounded by the two men. Tom caught up to her just as Sebastian closed the gap between them.
“Y/N, what’s been going on? What were you doing with sonograms?” Tom asked and Sebastian’s eyes widened in surprise.
“So those were pregnancy tests I saw in your bag,” Sebastian commented and the two men exchanged curious glances.
“Well, well, well, what a gathering,” Chris said as he made his way into the clandestine group, “I see we all share the same concern - Y/N you hastily ended our call and then never returned my texts. Do you perhaps have some explaining to do?”
“I, ugh, yeah,” she admitted in defeat with a small nod, “why don’t you guys come to my place and I can explain everything.”
“Hey girl! I’m home!” Ruby called out as she walked into their apartment. She was met with some hushed voices as she entered the living room and saw Y/N there with the three men, “ohh, I’m sorry I didn’t realized you have company.”
“It’s okay, Ruby. This is Sebastian, Tom, and Chris,” she said as she pointed them out individually. They all gave her a nod and she put two and two together.
“Oh,” she said with a small smile, “oh.”
“Yeah,” Y/N said and Ruby gave them a small wave as she exited the room.
“So, basically, you’re telling us that you’re pregnant and you have no clue which of us is the father,” Chris stated as he glanced at the other two men.
“Yes. I’m sorry, I just...I didn’t expect any of this to happen. I’ve never just slept with random people,” she said as she hung her head, “I’m not normally like this at all. But I guess I wasn’t prepared.”
“What are you planning on doing?” Sebastian asked as he leaned back on the couch, a million different thoughts running through his head, much like with the other men.
“I don’t know,” she admitted, “I haven’t fully made a decision. But...I don’t think I want to get rid of it.”
“And where does that leave us?” Chris asked the question they had all been dying to get the answer to.
“I don’t expect any of you to help with this, or feel the need to help me with this child. I know I can’t provide any answers to you right now, but I don’t know what else to tell you right now,” she put her hands up, “I don’t know what you all want to do. I mean, we can do a paternity test, if you three would be up to that.”
“I think we should maybe all take a few days to think this about all of this and then revisit the situation. It’s a lot for all of us to take in, and deserves some thought, not just a rash decision,” Chris suggested and they all nodded in agreement. Y/N let out a long sigh as she nodded in agreement, in awe of stridently the men who taking the news.
“Okay,” she atoned as she stood up and unwittingly clutched her stomach, “we’ll reconvene in a few days. I want to...thank you guys for taking this all so well. I realize this is high unconventional and I assure you, it was never meant to be this way.”
“We’ll figure it out, Y/N. Don’t unnecessarily stress yourself out,” Tom gave her a small half smile as he stood up and got ready to leave, “we’ll talk soon. Gentlemen, a pressure of sorts, I suppose.”
Sebastian and Chris nodded in agreement and decided to call it a day too. Their heads were spinning with everything they had learned that afternoon, both processing the news differently.
“Thanks, guys. I’ll see you soon,” Y/N commented quietly as she held open the door for them, a few murmurs of goodbye exchanged.
Once they were down the hall, Y/N closed the door and let out a sound somewhere between a cry and sigh, leaning against the door.
“That was certainly something,” Ruby said as she stuck her head out of her bedroom door. She looked to make sure there was no else milling about before she came out and rushed over to Y/N, wrapping her arms around her.
“I know. Everything is so fucked up,” she said as she held onto Ruby, “I have no clue what’s going to happen. But at least they didn’t all yell and scream.”
“It’s half their fault as well. Frankly, it was an accident, but you’ll all get through it,” she tried her best to cheer Y/N up, “if nothing else, this baby will have two mamas.”
“I love you, Ruby,” Y/N chuckled as she wiped away a few tears that had started to stream down her cheeks, “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Y/N almost jumped out of her skin when her phone started vibrating on the coffee table, interrupting her scary movie. She muttered a few curse words before pausing her movie, and grabbing her phone, surprised to see Chris calling. She took a breath before answering with a reserved, “hello?”
“Hey, Y/N. I’m here with Sebastian and Tom and we were wondering if you were available to talk?” He asked and she blinked a few times, surprised that they were taking it upon themselves to get together.
“Yes, of course. Where can I meet you guys?”
“We’re at Deanda’s on 5th. Can you make it here?”
“I’ll be there in fifteen minutes,” she agreed as she stood up and went tot he counter to grab her purse.
“Perfect, we’ll see you when you get here,” Chris said before hanging up the phone, leaving all sorts of things to run through Y/N’s mind. She sent Ruby a quick text letting her know what was going on as she rushed out of their apartment and to met her fate.
“Hello darling,” Tom smiled when Y/N walked up to the table of men, all eagerly waiting for her arrival. She gave him a smile as she took a seat at the small table, “just the lady we wanted to see to.”
“I can’t say I’m a little surprised to see you all together,” she admitted as she looked at the three of them.
“We’ve actually gotten along quite well,” Sebastian said as the other nodded, “we’ll all been talking the past few days.”
“Oh?”
“Yes, and we believe we’ve reached a good solution to our little dilemma,” Chris smiled at her and she was more confused than ever.
“Please, do go on,” she said meekly as she flagged down a waiter to get some water.
“We’ve decided that we don’t want to go through with a paternity test,” Tom said as Y/N felt her jaw drop in surprise at their admission.
“You-you don’t want to know who the father is?” She asked in confusion, “so none of you want to have anything to do with this baby?”
“Au contraire,” Sebastian stopped her before she could go on, “we all want to be part of the baby’s life. All three of us. Like you said before, it’s an unconventional situation, which calls for a different type of solution.”
“We all want to be fathers to this baby. It’ll be different, but it took all of us to get here, and we all want to be here. This baby will be the most loved baby ever,” Chris said as Y/N felt her eyes get misty. How was she this lucky? To be in such a difficult situation, and have the best response possible.
“Really?” She asked as they all nodded and her heart felt like it might burst.
“We’ll be one big family family,” Sebastian chuckled, “unusual, but I think that’s suiting for all of us. We’ll be able to figure out all the logistics and things as time goes on, but now we just need to focus on making sure you have you a safe and healthy pregnancy.”
“This is amazing. You guys are all the best,” she beamed at them, “truly. I couldn’t ever have wished for a better response.”
“Don’t worry, darling. This will all work out,” Tom said, “we all had a part in this, and we’re all part of the solution.”
“Thank you all,” Y/N said, “we’re going to be the best family ever.”
