how do you handle being a spurs fan even after so much disappointment? you talk about loving spurs so much and so do i but doesn't that love ever get tiring for you? hoping every season and hoping with every new manager? it's almost 20 years since we last won a trophy...

most of the clubs in the english football pyramid never win anything, or have very long periods between doing so.

i’ve watched our most bitter rivals go a season unbeaten and win the league at our gaff while we were languishing somewhere around the bottom of the table. i’ve watched our club fight our way up from midtable to hovering around the upper league positions with a conviction that’s carried us from whl to wembley to the new stadium. i’ve watched the champions league morph from a far off dream into an expectation. i’ve watched some truly great players lace their boots for this club and keep our name safe in their mouths after they leave or retire. i’ve watched one of our own transform into the greatest striker in the world. i’ve watched the greatest player the continent of asia has ever produced choose us at every turn. i’ve watched us come close again and again, disbelieving when i see the name of our club up there at the top. i’ve watched people from all around the world go against the grain and pick spurs. i’ve watched us line up in the champions league final. i’ve watched us embarrass some of the best clubs in the world. i’ve watched us get embarrassed by some of the best (and perhaps less best, too) clubs in the world. i’ve watched us score worldies, volleys, pens, tap ins, sitters. i’ve watched us miss twice as many. i’ve felt happy, sad, joyful, terrified, hopeful, angry, embarrassed, depressed, proud, devastated, everything. i’ve felt everything.

football is about moments and memories. whether we win something soon or not, i could never regret supporting this club, not when it’s given me everything. it’s given me friends all around the world, it’s given me unrelenting hope, it’s taught me resilience. there is no club like spurs. we are a club that dares no matter what. in a world full of citys, uniteds, and rovers, there is only one tottenham hotspur. i wouldn’t give this club up for the world. i couldn’t even try. 🤍
