You were working on an assignment for your anthropology class when your phone vibrates. A message from Poppy catching your attention.

You're quickly pulled in and Poppy kisses you impatiently as if she was insulted that she had to wait so long for you to show up.

Before you can continue kissing, you pull away and Poppy's already pulling you back in but you cut her off by saying "Okay if we're doing this, who's doing the choking?" Poppy just looks at you with half-lidded eyes as she says "I want you to fuck me with the strap while you choke me."

When the words escape her lips, you quickly ask her where the strap was so that you could get ready, brain not fully functioning as all you can focus on was the words that escaped Poppy's lips. As a refresh, the main 4′s patrons are:

Amparo - Death & Ace of Wands; rebirth, death itself and the energy it leaves + creation and willpower. It makes sense for Lady Death, the darling of Vesuvian theatre.

Anatole - Strength & Ace of Swords - inner strength, focus and compassion meets breakthroughs and a clear mind. Fitting for someone who is an embodiment of hope and who will dare to do the impossible twice.

Milenko - The Moon & Knight of Cups; this is another theme based chosen patrons. He uses illusions to speak of feelings which can only be understood by intuition, coming out of the water to distinguish what is real and what is fake, seeing sometimes the horror of it all. Many things lie in the night, but if you follow your heart, you might as well strike the right cord.

Artemisia - Justice. Art is Justice’s child through and through. She is meant to bring balance to the previous three: Spirit, power and creation all can turn askew if they do not have justice. Vlad & Louisa — The Lovers. Not that they know this, and I could give them other cards with no problem and the meaning would not be lost. Louisa could be The World and the Six of Swords. The exiled student who left her life behind for something that made her whole. Vlad could be The Magician but specially the Nine of Swords, a man who only hopes in reverse. But The Lovers is also about making decisions and standing up against something. It is a card of meaningful connections and choices, openness to communication and honouring who you will be in this timeline. And if that is not Vlad & Louisa, the man who chose to create things and take care of others over the grief inside him, and the woman who chose to love and help the world despite her own family sent her away from her own land, which did not love her back? Yeah. They get the Lovers.

Amparo Mediavilla - The Star. You cannot become a collector, smuggler and overall nuance without some hope, faith and youth under your sleeve. No challenge is hard enough, answers always come, and Death (wink wonk) always falls at your feet.

Vitale Cassano - Death. It is a saying that when Death marries a Star no one can bring that marriage down, and while I’m sure there were other Death-Star combinations in Cassano and Cassano adjacent marriages, this one is the beacon for the living generations of them. So Vitale doesn’t only get Death for a thematic reason, but also because have you met this man. This man brought the last biggest expansion of culture, arts, science and the public space to Vesuvia, reformed a number of institutions, and consolidated the Palazzo Cassano as a place open to the people (along with Amparo). What no longer serves us die, so we can continue to live, and no one understood this better then Vitale.

Lucenzo Cassano - The Sun. This man was a canon ball, a Gaudí levels of funky architect and overall, a whole firework. He met his wife at an orgy, yeah he’s the Sun.

Octavia Cassano - Temperance. Do no harm, take absolutely no shit.

Agrippina Cassano - Strength.

Iovanus Cassano - The Hierophant.

Valerian Cassano - Death. Though Death is his patron, their connection is with another God of Death, who lives his own cycle of Death and Rebirth and is an absolutely terrifying in the sublime, odd gum sensation way, and Valerian has seen it five times in his life, and that’s enough until he finally decides to die himself.

When the HECK did you all get here??? I think just last summer I was happily floating about in the 50′s. Anyways, to anyone I have not said hello, hello! Sadly, neither of these things tend to happen here. 

Amount I sleep: During the school year it’s usually anywhere between 30 minutes and 6 hours (DON’T EVEN START BUBBLES YOU HAVE NO RIGHT), usually landing in the 3/4 hour ranges if I’m smart about it, but now that I am on Unofficial Break, it’s usually at least around 6 hours (except today was 3 because Avatar is an excellent show and the weirdos in this house have regularly scheduled breakfast at 9-something every morning). Sadly my sleep schedule can only be forced to tolerate normalcy for so long before careening back in the other direction, so we’ll see if this is just a blip or if we’re back to normal mid-Atlantic Ocean hours!

Lucky number(s): I wouldn’t say these are necessarily favorite numbers, but I do like 2 and 9. But come to think of it, second attempts at Official Things do tend to go better for me than first attempts, so maybe there’s some merit there after all! Dream Job: Don’t think I’m really cut out for dreaming anymore, haha (unless you are a theoretical future employer in which case I am Extremely Full of Ambition and Passion). The bed-adjacent metaphor has been made, and not to brag, but I can sleep on pretty much any surface. Currently studying my Not Favorite aspect of STEM (was there ever a favorite or did I just like being good at things sometimes) and learning how to People™ properly (and also learning a gazillion convoluted drug names like what the heck dude, did you just fall asleep on your typewriter coming up with these), so I’ll take whatever place hires me and pays me enough not to depend on my parents for everything, I suppose. In an ideal world, that would entail a job where I could make friends, and even more importantly, a job where my shortcomings would not cause Massive and Irreparable Harm, but I don’t think this line of work really meshes with that last one, so I guess I’ll either have to get my shit together™ extremely soon or fake my death, adopt an alias, and flee to a completely new place with no ties whatsoever before trying to get another, less high stakes job. 

(Though I guess, less cynically, I like helping people well enough? And stories are fun! Maybe there could’ve been something with that. Not that there still can’t be, mind, but there’s still a long way to go between Here and There)

Favourite Authors: Okay I have not read enough various books of enough various authors to be able to answer this, so I’m just gonna go with a few books instead. They are not necessarily all-time favorites, but I enjoyed reading them very much at the time and more often than not go back to them for comfort reads: The Martian, any of first three Harry Potter books, and The Rise of Kiyoshi. (That last one’s not really a comfort read but I am drowning in Loving Kiyoshi juice so here we are)

Top 5 Red Dwarf episodes. :)

Only five?!? Surely you ask too much of me!! However I will valiantly continure on with a list that’s in no particular order bc I don’t have like a number one all time fave episode. Also take this list with a grain of salt bc season 2 is the one that I watched most recently so like..it’s more on my mind than the others. This list will probably change in like a week. 

1. Parallel Universe

What can I say. I love wamen. I also love just the story as a whole and how it influenced the greater Red Dwarf universe and also Tounge Tied is my favorite cold open of anything ever. There’s absolutely no reason for a musical number here but fuck it they’re gonna do it anyway and that’s a decision I will ALWAYS respect. 

2. The Inquisitor

This episode combined with that one fairly odd parents episode where timmy wishes he was never born are the reasons that I’ve been having an existential crisis since I was eight goddamn years old. Also “Some might say I’m a pretty shallow guy, but a shallow guy with a great ass” is one of my all time favorite Cat lines. 

3. Polymorph

Love me a good ridiculous sci-fi critter. Also love me a good ridiculous plot that let’s the actors get to do something utterly ridiculous. I want a “give quiche a chance” shirt.

4. Dimension Jump

ACE! ACE! ACE! ACE! ACE! ACE!

5. Skipper

I gotta have at least ONE episode from the Dave Era and this one is definitely my favorite one. It’s OBVIOUSLY meant to be a huge nostalgia fest and like...it worked like a charm for me. Plus like...alternate universes are always my jam give me an episode where you get to explore what ifs and alternates and I’m into, a probably evidenced by this list actually. Also I cried laughing at the giant rat costume. I still cry laughing when I see it. I laughed a lot during the series but the rat costume got me the hardest I cannot describe how unfathomably funny it is to me. I DON”T EVEN KNOW WHY. I know I KNOW I’ve already talked about how good this costume is but like..it’s the height of comedy.

Me2- funny, highlights rimmer’s character development, have thought about the novel saying that lister was the one that changed him for 40 years now

Justice- the justice field slaps what a cool concept

Stoke me a clipper- it sucks that rimmer leaves but it was a really cool way of doing it. also i like the twist that thousands of rimmers have been ace and any of them can don the wig. Still want arlene ace. also p gay and i’m always a fan of that.

Blue- WHAT’S BETTAH THAN THIS JUST GUYS BEING DUDES JUST DUDES BEING GUYS JUST GUYS BEING GAY SHOW ME YOUR PINING LISTER

Backwards- good n goofy concept. also the whole “nodnol” exchange really shows how few brain cells the crew has

           -He knew your medical history, hedid do a background check on you after all

           -So he knew that you’ve had frequenttrips to the hospital your whole life

           -He did not realize, however, thatyou’d be this terrified of just visiting the hospital to see Saeran (after thewhole mint eye thing of course)

           -It wasn’t very obvious to anyoneelse how afraid you were, but he could tell

           -You were in a lot of danger whenthe two of you were saving Saeran and you didn’t bat an eye

           -But the moment you stepped foot inthe hospital, you got quiet. When you did talk, you started to stutter and tripover your words. You had a lot of trouble looking around or at anyone  and that wasn’t the MC he knew

           -You explained that due to your weakimmune system, you’re a frequent in the hospital. You get sick easily and ithits you hard. But being surrounded by the multitudes of machines, hearing thesad sounds of people losing loved ones, you just couldn’t handle it

           -From then on, every time you’readmitted to the hospital, he brings a back full of different outfits so he canentertain you, and get your mind off of everything that was happening aroundyou

           -You immediately told him about yourhealth conditions when the two of you met

           -You unfortunately had to stay inthe hospital frequently because of bad epileptic episodes

           -Well, you would go home of course,but some episodes were too risky to go immediately home, so you’d have to stay

           -And you HATED it, like, THIS PLACEISN’T HOME

           -So every time it happens, he makesit home for you

           -Always bringing you favouriteblankets and pillows from home

           -He even tries to bring calmingcandles so you won’t be as afraid you cant really…light those in here v

           -He’s always talking in such acalming tone that you’re just kind of….relaxed. Please tell me some storiesV, lull me to sleep and ease my nerves . He’s always reading fairytale storiesto you

           -On days that you’re extra anxious,he shows you videos he’s taken of you, of the RFA, and of random things youlove the ones he takes of dogs and you know he does it just for you

           -Overall, he’s just always there tolisten to you. You can rant and rave and cry angry tears because you’re soafraid and just want to go home, but he’s there to wipe your tears away and theonly home that matters is the one you have with him

*SAERAN:

           -He knows what it’s like to be inthe hospital for a long time

           -I mean, right after Saeyoung tookhim from Mint Eye, he was in there a long time to get all of that shit out ofhis blood stream and all of that, so he kind of gets it

           -When you have to go to the hospitalpretty often because your kidneys were weak and almost always on the verge offailing, he freAKS OUT

           -HE HATES HOSPITALS JUST AS MUCH ASYOU DO AND IT’S HARD TO BE COOL CALM AND COLLECTED WHEN HIS LOVE IS IN ONE OFTHEM

           -Pulls it together (well on theoutside at least) fairly quickly when he notices how nervous you are everytime, no matter how often you have to go

           -You’re almost on the verge of tearsevery time because?? Every time you’re here you’re fairly close to dying andWOW that’s scary as fuck this place sucks

           -But he’s always there for you, nomatter what. He might not say much (and nO ITS NOT BECAUSE HIS VOICE WILLGIVE AWAY HIS FEAR SHUT UP MC) but he’s there to hold your hand through itall, and tries to act like wiping your tears is an inconvenience though youknow it’s not and that hes just trying to be tough

           -Actually stays up for days at atime to watch over you and make sure everything is alright which makes you feelbad but also really puts you at ease??
