Also, while I was googling around, I found this fun passage from 1939:

They ripped off his wig and gown, clawed at his limbs as he tried to pry himself loose. … ‘I think you made history this morning,’ then-College President Mildred McAfee said of Read. ‘Never before have Wellesley women been banded together for such a purpose.’"

Again my established background with the harem anime genre gives me confidence in the path future events took on that day.

Thanks to the class of 1895, the annual Hooprolling contest has been a symbol of graduation at Wellesley for generations. The winner, once said to be the first to marry, later said to be the first to earn a PhD or become a CEO, is now said to be the first in her class who will achieve happiness and success, however she defines it!

it’s not like i can say this is a bad thing really but i wish i’d gone during the time period when we were coerced into becoming professors or ceos
